Jay Z said publicly what we’ve been knowing about America for quite some time: It’s sexist AF. But, he let one young, black girl know during a recent concert that she can go as far as being the president of the United States if she wanted to. See the super cute exchange, celebs at Hov’s Detroit stop and see how Pete Rock ethered Waka Flocka inside…

Jay Z took the words right out of our mouths during his 4:44 concert at the Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland on Sunday (November 19th).

Stopping his set in between songs, he locked eyes with a young fan in the audience and decided to drop a few golden nuggets for her all the while publicly saying what we’ve been saying about America for years. He reminded the 9-year-old that she could be anything her heart desires, including being the President of the United States. Then, he reminded us all just how sexist America is.

“Now remember, like I was saying, you can be anything you want to be in the world,” he told the little girl who was jumping up and down as he spoke directly to her. “At this very moment, America is way more sexist then they are racist. But you young lady, you have the potential to be the next president of the United States. You believe that.”

Now, don’t get it twisted. Hov isn’t saying that racism doesn’t exist. We all know how prevalent racism is, and it's MAJORLY prevalent. Across the board. Sexism is just as bad, yet people are just now begining to see that.  The effects of sexism can sometimes feel more pressing, especially to women of color, because it's men of ALL races who can and do contribute to systematic sexism.  So the opression is compounded upon us by multiple structures and multiple groups.

Peep the clip below:

Basically, when it comes to gender roles, America treats men superior to women, usually regardless of race. Bottom line, if a white employer (male or female) had to choose to promote either a black woman or a black man with the exact same level of talent (or even with a black woman being better), stats show he would likely promote that black man. Compounded opression.

At Hov’s Detroit stop, several YBFers were in attendance:

On Saturday, Jay Z rolled his 4:44 tour into Detroit where he performed at the Little Caesars Arena. He’s the first Hip Hop act to do so. Rapper Big Sean and Cleveland Cavaliers' LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, J.R. Smith and Tristan Thompson were all in the audience.

Check out the fellas getting LIT as Hov performed above and below.

By the way, the Cavs played the Detroit Pistons on Monday. The Cavs defeated the Pistons, 116-88.

Im gonna defend my older heads and tell you your not equal. Be as disrespectful as you want. Your not doing what we did, havent accomplished what we accomplished. Our generation didnt experiment with pills or syrup or anything synthetic. Its already written in history. Rock n Roll hall of fame, hip hop hall of fame and museums. Where are you at in any of that? The problem is yall never had respect from the jump. WE ARE THE REASON YOUR WHO YOU ARE AND DO WHATEVER IT IS YOUR DOING! Pay homage to who was before you. Problem is also yall want us to accept music that dont move nothing but the young, when you making music its to inspire everyone not just your era. Only time my pockets on pause is when im streaming yall album. I listen to it and made a decision not to buy yo shit cuz in my opinion being a music maker, there is no substance to the music or lyrics so dont get mad cuz you not cut from the cloth of hip hop pioneers. Lets see how long you can last in this business doing what you doing. You been quiet until you startED running your mouth about old school niccas. Thats corny bro. Just make better music and spit like an MC. Yeah yall different but nothing of what nas krs kane jay z or any official rapper has ever taught you. We saying something about your generation cuz your simply not making heart & soul felt music young nicca! The old head rant is corny. Old heads are special and i just think yall cant do what we did. Salute! @wakaflocka

Old School vs. New School!

“Old Head” producer/rapper Pete Rock is tired of the new generation of rappers not paying homage and giving respect. And he has no problem calling them out on it. This time, he came at Waka Flocka for comments he made during an interview with This Is 50.

In the interview Waka, blamed the older generation for not “saving” Hip Hop and the issues that plagued the game. “We just as lost as y’all. Y’all not record execs,” he said. The Atlanta rapper even said he feels like the Jay Z or Nas of his generation.

Well, Pete had a response…and a lengthy one at that. He lit into Waka Flocka via his Instagram page. Here’s what he said:

"Im gonna defend my older heads and tell you your not equal. Waka got word on Pete's rant and popped back, threatening to slap him:

Whose side you're on?
