Wiz Khalifa’s mother Katie "Peachie" Wimbush-Polk TRIED it when she filed a defamation suit against her former daughter-in-law Amber Rose.
You’ll recall, Peachie pulled the trigger on a defamation lawsuit over a “profanity laced” phone call where Amber allegedly accused her -- to a third party -- of being a negligent parent.
That wasn’t all. Amber allegedly blamed Peachie for the death of Wiz’s sibling, Dorien. During a heated phone conversation, Amber said Peachie was now unfit to watch her little grandson Sebastian Thomaz (who Amber shares with Wiz). During their “war,” CPS was called on Amber, however, Peachie claims she “made no such report at or around that time.” She was gunning for $50,000 for court costs, interest, punitive and other damages.
Well, a Pennsylvania judge threw out the defamation lawsuit.
According to TMZ, the judge ruled, "Mere insults, indignities, threats, annoyances, petty oppressions, and other trivialities" do not give rise to a claim for emotional distress. Apparently, the their ongoing beef is just that, beef! No laws were broken.
Welp. There’s that. Let's hope this keeps Wiz from having to keep them separated now that the case is closed.
In other legal news...
Mel B and her estranged husband Stephen Belafonte have finally come to a divorce settlement after a nasty, drawn out war in the media.
According to Life & Style, a judge has ordered Stephen to NOT release any of the 56 videos of “sexual nature” (aka sex tapes) that he has of his soon-to-be ex-wife.
“Stephen agreed to not release any of the videos he had shot of Mel, including sex tapes, and there are strict provisions in the agreement to enforce that,” a source told the site. “Stephen agreed to not release any of the videos he had shot of Mel, including sex tapes, and there are strict provisions in the agreement to enforce that."
As for the money…
Mel was ordered to cough up $40,000 a month in temporary spousal support and another $140,000 in attorney fees. Here’s how they’ll permanently split their finances:
“Mel and Stephen will split the proceeds from the sale of their [$8.9 million Hollywood Hills] mansion and he will receive $15,000 a month in support for five years,” the source leaked. “She also agreed to pay his legal fees, which were around $100,000.”
You’ll recall, Mel filed a restraining order against him. But, he’ll still get to spend time with their daughter Maddy. He’s getting more time with her now.
“He had supervised visitation with Maddy during the divorce proceedings,” the insider told the site. “Now Stephen will be allowed to have overnight unsupervised visits with her, which is a huge win for him.”
The source also claimed Mel isn’t too happy with the terms of the divorce, but she went ahead and signed. Likely, to get the mess over and done with. We can't blame her.
Now, they both can move on with their lives…hopefully in peace.
