LeBron James is a man of his word. After winning the 2016 NBA championship, he told Cavaliers fans he wasn’t going on anywhere. And now, it’s official.
King James has signed a 3-year $100 million contract with the Cavaliers, according to ESPN. In a video for Bleacher Report's "Uninterrupted,” the NBA Finals MVP announced he’s returning to Cleveland and expressed how excited he is to re-join his teammates for another chance at bringing home another championship.
“Just wanted to let ya’ll know I’m re-signing with the Cleveland Cavaliers, my hometown team,” James said.“I can’t be more excited to defend our crown, defend our title. We all know last year was magical, inspiring … it was an unbelievable season. I just can’t wait to get the group back together.”
“I can’t wait to get back out there in the wine and gold and just get the band back together,” James said. “And last, let’s get J.R. done. It’s that time.”

LeBron helped bring the first NBA title in the franchise’s history, so it’s no surprise the Cavaliers are doing everything in their power to keep their star player.
Since the NBA bagged a $24 billion television deal in 2014, each NBA team will have a salary cap of $94 million per season this upcoming season, compared to last season’s record-setting $70 million. That ought to help them keep J.R. Smith. LeBron mentioned in the video they need to make sure to get J.R.
The Cavaliers will kick off the preseason games against the Orlando Magic on October 5th.
Now, LeBron is on the quest for his 4th title and the team's 2nd. Good luck!
