Miss Universe 2011 Leila Lopes was thrown a "Miss Universe Farewell" party at Empire Steak House in NYC this week which brought out fans, admirers and NY Giant star Osi Umenyiora.  Sources say the two were "together" all night and they think she brings him good luck.

One person who didn't make the party was mogul Russell Simmons whom was rumored to date Leila last year.  Though he couldn't make the party, he did send her flowers.

Very innocent right?  Well....when the New York Post mentioned the party on Page Six, they made sure to include that Leila was boo'd up with Osi AND they mentioned that Russell sent flowers.  The only way that "info" could have ended up on Page Six was if it was shared by someone from Leila's camp...or Leila herself.

Russell got a little P.O.'d and called Leila out on Twitter and offered her some advice saying she should avoid "gossips" and not push her man's buttons.  Oh....

She may want to take his advice...words from a wise man who knows the business.  And who knows publicity whores too...

On what drew her to Django and the controversy around the movie:

“I’ve never seen slavery dealt with this way before in film. So often it’s a white character who’s the savior of black people.”

“We should have a plethora of visions and interpretations of who we are as a nation.” But she admits, “This is not necessarily the film I would make about slavery.”

On growing up in the Washington household and her multi-culti family:

She still remembers the lively, sometimes heated, discussions on race and society around the dinner table. “My family’s very multiethnic,” she says. “When we get together for the holidays, it is the U.N., across the board.”

On the culture shock when she was enrolled in an upper east side private school:

Prior to Spence, Washington thought her working-middle-class family was balling. “We had a microwave and two cars. We had a dishwasher before anyone in the building,” she says. “And then you go to this other world, and it’s, ‘Oh, we’re taking a helicopter to your house in the Hamptons?’ For a lot of classmates, I knew the only other black women they’d known were their domestic help.”

On leaving the entertainment business:

“Sometimes I feel like I can’t do this anymore.” Almost once a year, her hair and makeup folks hear it: “I am done! I’m so done.”

On why she’s no saint:

“If you look at my body of work, I’ve always taken huge risks. I’ve played prostitutes, drug addicts, pimping lesbians. I do work I’m drawn to.”

YBF chick Tika Sumpter stopped by "106 & Park" yesterday where she promoted the release of Sparkle on DVD and revealed her awkward and intimate TSA pat down experience.  Watch the interview inside....

Our fave doll baby Tika Sumpter dropped by "106 & Park" yesterday to chit chat with Paigion & Miss Mykie about the Sparkleon DVD and her upcoming show on BET with Gabrielle Union,"Being Mary Jane." 

When it comes to her acting roles, Tika said she enjoys playing strong and independent women with a vulnerable side.  She thinks her character in Sparkle allowed her to showcase that.  

While reflecting on the film and the cast, she said Whitney Houston was fun to work with and offered a lot of support to the cast. "We all really geled and she just want us to stand on her shoulders and be great.  And shine bright...like a diamond."  

Tika also spoke highly of her "Being Mary Jane" co-star Gabrielle Union saying viewers will get to see a very different, never-before-seen side of her in the role.

And the 32-year-old also talked about getting "the full pat down" during an experience with TSA.  Although it was invasive, she said understood they were just doing their job. She joked,  "I'm not saying I didn't like it.  But take me out to dinner next time."

"The Woman You Love" singer Ashanti has landed a new gig, in addition to her FUSE Tv show, in Hollywood on Lifetime's hit drama "Army Wives." Find out who she's playing inside.....

Ashanti is making big moves in Hollywood having landed a series regular role on Lifetime's "Army Wives."  Ashanti, who's been taking on acting roles since her 2002 appearance on "Sabrina, the Teenage Witch," will play Latasha Durant on the Lifetime series. Her character is described as "an optimistic mother of three, a sexy, fun woman who knows how to keep a husband – and how to keep him in line"

Ashanti isn't the only new addition to "Army Wives" as the series has also hired Torrey DeVitto and Elle McLemore as regulars. The show starts filming Season 7 in mid-December in Charleston, South Carolina. 

Hmmm.  This is one of my fave shows and not sure how Ashanti's going to mesh with the rest of the very talented cast.  Apparently, a few of the roles are now going to recurring status with one of the lead roles, Kim Delaney, leaving the show entirely.  So now's Ashanti's chance to make a name for herself on tv....

Back in 2010, a jobless Allen Iverson decided to purchase this massive $4.5 million home in Atlanta.  And according to bank records, he defaulted on the loan.  Shocker.

The bank foreclosed on the crib and is prepping to sell it at auction on December 4th....the house and everything inside (horrible decor included) .

If A.I. comes up with the cash before 12/4, he could save the home.  But seeing that he's dealing with a messy divorce and money probs (like owing a Georgia jewelry dealer almost a million dollars), it may be a little difficult.

"A Family Affair" star Toya Wright just expanded her business from New Orleans to her current home of Georgia.  Check out her brand new GARB Shoetique opening last night alongside her daughter & hubby inside...

Last night in Smyrna, GA in the WestVillage area (with the afterparty at Cream Ultra lounge) Toya Wright teamed up with her best friend Danielle Cardiche-Johnson to open their brand new store called GARB Shoetique.  It's an extension of Toya's clothing boutique back in New Orleans, GARB.

The twosome opened up shop, close to her girl Kandi Burruss' boutique, and had all their friends and fam out to celebrate.  Memphitz & 14-year-old Reginae were there to support of course.  Just a day after Reginae's big skate party.

Toya rocked a cute shirt from her boutique and a pair of heel-less wedges from her Shoetique.  And snapped a pic with her partner Dani.

These two look pretty much like twins these days.

Toya's brother Rudy came out to support his sis.

Halle Berry and Gabriel Aubry seems to be moving forward for Nahla's sake as deets from their "amicable settlement" in court have leaked.  Find out what they worked out inside.....

The fallout from the Thanksgiving Day brawl between Halle Berry's fiance Olivier Martinez and Gabriel Aubry has been settled as deets from the former couple's agreement have been leaked.  

A source told Radar that Gabe will not press charges against Olivier.

 "Gabe has agreed to drop legal proceedings for the temporary restraining order against Olivier to be made permanent. Gabe suffered horrific injuries from the fight, but as part of the settlement he reached with Halle on Thursday he agreed to drop the bid for the permanent restraining order. Gabe feels that there are enough layers of protection in the settlement agreement that will protect him and Nahla in the future."  

Also, Gabe doesn't have to worry about running into Oliver during drop offs anymore as that issue has also been taken care of.  Olivier won't be around.

It's also been reported that Halle and Oliver will pay for Gabriel's medical and legal bills.  The source said, 'Without admitting ANY guilt, Olivier agreed to pay for Gabe's medical bills because he suffered the brunt of the injuries from the fight.'  

It seems as if Halle and Gabe are moving in a positive direction.  Her protective order against Gabe expired on Thursday, and he was reunited with Nahla on Friday.  Whew.

TheYBF.com celebrates WORLD AIDS DAY, which is held every year to address the worldwide AIDS epidemic.  The theme of this year's World AIDS Day is  “Getting to Zero” by 2015. The goal is to encourage governments to live up to their financial pledges so there'll will be "Zero AIDS Related Deaths, Zero New Infections and Zero Discrimination."
 

Great strides have been made in the epidemic with the most recent global AIDS Report showing new treatment measures have averted more than 2.5 million AIDS related deaths since 1995,  but clearly, the war is far from over.  Funding for HIV has already begun to flat line with many governments not coming through on pledges they have made.  

But things are a bit different at the White House (where the AIDS ribbon was put on display).  President Obama released a statement earlier this week saying, 

“This Saturday, December 1st, on World AIDS Day, we will come together as a global community to stand with people affected by HIV/AIDS, to remember those we have lost, and to renew our commitment to ending the pandemic once and for all. We have made great strides in combating this disease, and an AIDS-free generation is within sight."

And both Health and Human Service Secretary Kathleen Sebelius and Labor Secretary Hilda Solis argued that implementing Obama’s healthcare act will be key to combating the disease in the US and giving an estimated 30 million people in the U.S. access to better health insurance and doctors.

Labor SecretaryHilda Solisalso recounted huge accomplishments in the areas of travel and employment for HIV positive persons saying,

“Thanks to President Obama concluding a successful bipartisan effort to end the travel entry ban on people living with HIV, the International AIDS Conference at last returned to the United States for the first time in 22 years.

Through our department’s aggressive public education campaign, we inform workers of their rights and employers of their responsibilities under federal law – including that workers cannot be denied employment, harassed or otherwise discriminated against because of their HIV status.”

In the early hours of the morning, Kansas City Chiefs linebacker Jovan Belcher reportedly murdered his girlfriend Kasandra Perkins and later turned the gun on himself. Read more about the murder/suicide inside....

25-year-old Kansas City Chiefs linebacker Jovan Belcher put a bullet in his head this morning, only minutes after killing his 22-year-old girlfriend Kasandra Perkins.

The Kansas City Star reports that Jovan got into a heated argument with Kasandra around 7:50am and shot her multiple times.  Kasandra's mother, who was visiting the couple Kansas CIiy apartment and helping with their couple's 2-month-old daughter, witnessed the shooting and called police.

Jovan then got in his car and made a short drive to the Chiefs' practice facility at Arrowhead Stadium, where he later shot himself in front of his head Coach Romeo Crennel and General Manager Scott Pioli.  Police were called to the stadium around 8:10am and had already learned of Kasandra's mother death.

Police Capt. David Lindaman said Jovan "... had a conversation with Scott Pioli. There was no threat and it was quite friendly, from what I understand. The Chiefs organization had been very supportive of him and he was expressing that.”

Chiefs owner Clark Hunt later released the following statement:

“The entire Chiefs family is deeply saddened by today’s events, and our collective hearts are heavy with sympathy, thoughts and prayers for the families and friends affected by this unthinkable tragedy. We sincerely appreciate the expressions of sympathy and support we have received from so many in the Kansas City and NFL communities, and ask for continued prayers for the loved ones of those impacted.

We will continue to fully cooperate with the authorities and work to ensure that the approporiate counseling resources are available to all members of the organization.”
 

Surprisingly, Kasandra's family said they were shocked by this morning's tragic events because the couple seemed so happy since the birth of their daughter two months ago.

Comedian Katt Williams is seriously spiraling out of control and has continued his attacks on random people. See video of him pimp slapping a Target employee inside...

Though it's very sad to watch (thought somewhat comical) Katt Williams slapped a Target employee and then used a motorized shopping cart as his getaway vehicle!

Katt's numerous breakdowns (which are often caught on video), have included a high speed chase (on a three-wheeler), club fights, slapping an assistant, and bombing on stage.  

The latest incident happened after he sped away from police officers who were chasing he 3-wheeler last Sunday.  He drove to a nearby Target where he apparently got into an argument with an employee.  He later slapped the employee and the cops were called.  Then, Katt was seen "driving" away from the register in one of Target's own motorized shopping cart. 

This scene would play out hilariously on-screen....but this is real life.  Katt is seriously going to hurt himself or someone else unless he's stopped. He's our Lindsay Lohan.

Chris Brown returned to Twitter this weekend after the chick he was beefing with, Jenny Johnson, issued a non-apology.  But he still kept his Instagram followers intrigued with a pic he posted of himself and Rihanna (from when she had short hair about a month ago) smoking out...partially nude.

During a very candid interview, Mike Tyson revealed that he was high on cocaine in The Hangover and that he had a love triangle with Brad Pitt and Robin Givens.  Find out more inside...

Remember Mike Tyson's famed appearance in the 2009 flick The Hangover.  The former boxer recently revealed on "In Depth With Graham Bensinger," that he was high as a kite during the taping.  

Speaking of his co-stars Ed Helms, Bradley Cooper, Zach Galifianakis, and Justin Bartha, he said, "They had to know I was messed up. I couldn't talk. I had the cocaine talk. So those guys are just beautiful people. They had my back, and I appreciate that and stuff, then they asked me to come back [in The Hangover 2]."  He added that working with the cast is what helped him clean up his act. Ad to the cast's defense...even a sober Mike Tyson's "talk" isn't that easy to understand.

Also, he revealed that while he and actress Robin Givens were divorcing (yet still sleeping together), he caught her and Brad Pitt returning home together.  Robin Givens had the world's heavywight champ and one of the world's sexiest men all at the same damn time!  

Mike added, 'I was mad as hell. I was going to...you should have saw his face when he saw me.  But Brad's face is still in tact...

Fans of the former heavyweight can catch him telling more wild stories from his past when he hits the road next year.  The two-hour, tell-all show was directed by Spike Lee and wlll have Mike talking about his divorces, rape conviction and the time he chomped on Evander Holyfield's ear. A little more about this red carpet event: The event is a particularly special sponsorship for Buick because of the brand's dedication to educating young people. In 2011, The General Motors Foundation and Buick launched the Buick Achievers Scholarship Program to award scholarships to students interested in science, technology, engineering, math and related fields. The Buick Achievers Program now dedicates up to 4.5 million dollars annually to students who demonstrate excellence in the classroom and community, and are the first in their family to attend college.

Unaired footage from a 2008 game show has Tyga revealing he grew up in a cushy Vally suburb....not the streets of Compton.  Is his image calculated & contrived...like most of these rappers?  Get more inside.....

Young Money rapper Tyga may have an image and public persona that screams "street" but unaired footage from a 2008 game show paints a VERY different story.

Though Tyga claims he grew up in Compton, footage from a 2008 show called "Bustas" (where contestants competed to see who could portray the "best" rap stereotypes) has the rapper saying he grew up in a well-to-do household in the Valley, and his parents drove a Range Rover.  Now one has to ask if his image is a "calculated" fraud. And why does he need to embody a stereotype to sell music? 

But even with all of his "cushy" upbringing, he never learned how to pronounce the word "amoeba."
