Cardi B isn't hitting nobody's stage if they aren't meeting her coinage demands. Find out how much it'll cost to get Bardi on stage, plus what Nia Long said about the age gap inside...
If the money isn't right, Cardi B is not leaving her baby to perform.
The "Be Careful" singer knows she's in demand and she's not going to be short changed when it comes to making these coins for performances.
Folks in her camp are spilling tea to TMZ about the amount of money it will take to get Bardi on stage. Apparently, she wants $300,000 or better for a performance. And no, she's not doing any discounts, especially when she's fielding offers that are upward $500,000.
She reportedly charged $100K a show to do Coachella, which she reinvested into creating her show, so she's only going up for her performance fee. Can't even be mad at that. Reinvest your coin in yourself so you have an even better product to sell for more #MILFMoney. Smart.
Oh, and she's not performing in nobody's rinky dink clubs or anywhere that's super far. She's too big of a star to be hitting the stage in a hole in the wall club, her team says, and she doesn't want to travel too far from her daughter, Kulture Kiari Cephus.
Last week, she popped up on stage to perform "Motosport" at the Aubrey & The Three Migos Tour stop in NYC. It's unclear if/what she was paid for the appearance because her camp won't confirm.
Looks like chick is single handedly trying to close the wage gap with these type demands a couple years into her career. Plenty of men with less to offer deman that or more. So more power to her.
By the way, her debut album, Invasion of Privacy, is still killing the charts:
20 weeks on the top ten on Billboard 200. Im so thankful and grateful .INVASION OF PRIVACY ! pic.twitter.com/n0YWM3xYd1

Speaking of wages...
Nia Long is getting real about the wage gap in Hollywood.
While on the carpet at the Hollywood Foreign Press Association's Grants Banquet recently at the Beverly Hill Hotel, the Love Jones actress opened up about the wage gap in Hollywood and how women are treated unfairly simply for requesting more, or even equal pay, as her male counterparts.
“I’ve watched a lot of men get rich off of the films that I’ve done, and I was being paid peanuts,” she told The Root. "And when I requested, or wanted more, I was considered difficult, outspoken, entitled, and all of the things that should not be used to describe a woman who has earned her space, her place, and delivers. And that just doesn't apply to me, that's for everyone."
Where is the lie? Why is it that when women go out and ask for what they want, they are labeled with negative adjectives, whereas a man who does the exact same thing, he's considered a "go getter," or ambitious, etc? Let's discuss in the comments!

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry enjoyed a fun summer date night out to see the famous HAMILTON play. Peep their pics, plus get into the Duke of Sussex's vocals inside...
Date night...with a cause!
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are huge HAMILTON fans like the rest of us. The Duke & Dutchess of Sussex enjoyed a date night to see a special West End performance of the smash musical HAMILTON in London last night.
The show was put on to help raise funds for one of Harry's charities, Sentebale. The charity supports the mental health and well being of children and young people affected by HIV in Lesotho and Botswana.
Oh, hey Duchess! The happy couple took their seats alongside HAMILTON creator Lin-Manuel Miranda in the audience.
This isn't their first time seeing HAMILTON. Meghan and Harry previously went to see the show earlier this year. The perks of Royalty.
“We saw it back in January, February and thought it was incredible," Meghan is heard saying while chatting with HAMILTON star Rachel John, who plays Angelica Schuyler in the London version of the Broadway hit. “Harry loved it, it was the first time he saw it, and now he can’t stop singing the songs!," Meghan revealed.
After the show, the Duke got on stage to thank everyone for coming out and even flexed his vocals some:
Thank you to the cast and crew of @HamiltonWestEnd for a fantastic performance, raising awareness and funds for @Sentebale's work with children and young people affected by HIV #HamiltonLDNpic.twitter.com/M5hmjTfhEz

Ha! Get it, Harry. The Prince started belting out the beginning of “You’ll Be Back,” which is sung by King George, the character of Harry's actual sixth great-grandfather, in the show.
After the show...
The Duchess, rocking a a black tuxedo mini dress by Judith & Charles, and her hubby greeted the HAMILTON cast backstage. Oversized blazers and dinner jackets as a dress are definitely hot for fall.
“You get heads of state, we’ve had some popular folks come see our show, but you don’t often get a direct descendant of one of your main characters," Lin-Manuel told reporters.

While Meghan is seemingly happy for the most part, we're sure the family drama (thanks to her estranged dad and step-sister) has taken a toll. The good news is her grandmother-in-law, Queen Elizabeth II, has the former "Suits" star's back.
“What may surprise some is just how supportive Her Majesty has been during the problems Meghan has faced with her family,” claimed a Buckingham Palace insider. “Meghan is in a tough place, and the queen knows it’s completely out of Meghan’s hands. She has only sympathy for what’s been a difficult and distressing situation for her.”
“While Meghan and the queen come from two very different backgrounds and generations, there’s a warmth between the two that’s genuine and loving,” the source continued.
Well, we're happy to hear this.
Traci Braxtons' sisters have shockingly walked out on her and the show. Now, everything's changed. We've got an exclusive sneak peek at tonight's "Braxton Family Values"...with hardly any Braxtons. A reunion we didn't know we wanted did happen though. Check it inside.
Traci Braxton had to make a difficult decision recently. After talking with her sisters and family about returning to the show, things reached a pivotal moment and now, her celebrity friends are rallying around Traci.
As we told you previously, Phaedra Parks and Flavor Flav have joined the show. But when Phaedra makes her debut tonight, we see she's also joined by Natalie Nunn, Luenell and others.
So if you're tuning in for the Braxtons, yeah, you won't be seeing most of them. But we're curious to see how all this plays out.
Flavor Flav's ex Tiffany "New York" Pollard is also on the show. Tiffany had to miss the recent press day due to scheduling conflicts, but things are definitely still all good between the two of them:
Can't say we expected this reunion. But it's a doozy to see.
"Braxton Family Values" airs tonight on WETV.
Rapper O.T. Genasis got caught up in some drama at the bar, but his camp says the reports about people in his camp brandishing guns are not true. Also, former NFL star Greg Lloyd is being accused of pulling a gun out on his wife, but he says that's not true. Deets inside...
Either O.T. Genasis and his homies are out here doing some questionable acts, or someone's out to get them.
For the 2nd time this summer, the rapper and his camp are being accused of alleged gun threats.
His latest supposed incident happened at The Good Night bar in San Fernando Valley. It's reported the rapper pulled up on the bar with some of his homies and a few ladies when an issue surrounding folks' IDs came up. It's reported the bartender asked the girls for their ID, some type of verbal altercation went down, and that's when someone from O.T.'s camp allegedly whipped out a gun.
TMZ breaks down the alleged deets:
Law enforcement sources and eyewitnesses tell us ... someone in O.T.'s crew pulled out a gun and threatened to shoot up the place. The bartender snapped some pics, and that got the gunman pissed and he tried smashing the phone.
Police were called but, by the time they arrived, O.T. and his boys were gone. Police are investigating what could be a felony -- making criminal threats along with brandishing a weapon.
A person from O.T.'s circle reached out to the site and said the dispute was actually over his ID and another rapper's ID. They also confirmed "at no time did any member of his crew pull out a gun or make threats."
Hmm...we wonder if his girlfriend Malika Haqq was in the mix.
Back in June, it's alleged police were called out to Pinz bowling alley in LA after a reported gun threat. Lordt.
Another celeb claiming no-wrongdoing...
Former NFL star Greg Lloyd, who was a beast on the field in the 90s, has been arrested after he was accused of pulling out a GUN on his wife during a domestic dispute, threatening to shoot her, according to his wife, Stephanie Lloyd.
Peep his mugshot below:
Stephanie claims the 53-year-old former Steelers linebacker pointed a gun at her in their home back in July and told her that if she "f*ck up" she's "going to get one."
The official legal documents were obtained by TMZ and here's what's in the report:
Stephanie says she managed to get in her car and leave the house -- but Greg called her on the phone and continued making threats. "Doing stupid sh*t like this is how you end up in the morgue," Greg allegedly said.
Stephanie claims Greg insisted his gun was not loaded -- but she's scared nonetheless.
Stephanie filed for a restraining order against Greg, saying, "I have battled all types of abuse from my husband for years hoping that things would at some point get better ... I do not feel safe anymore."
Stephanie claims Greg "has a history of pointing guns at other people but this is the first time for me."
Court records show Lloyd was convicted of pointing a gun at another person back in the early 2000s. We're working on the details from that case. 53-year-old Lloyd was arrested on July 27, 2018 for felony aggravated assault and misdemeanor pointing a gun at another person, according to official records. He was released 3 days later.
Court docs also show Stephanie's restraining order was granted -- and Greg has been ordered to stay at least 200 yards away from her until August 2019.
The former NFL star spoke with TMZ and said he didn't do anything wrong and that it'll all take its course in court.
Speaking of NFL players....
We've released LB Mychal Kendricks
— Cleveland Browns (@Browns) August 30, 2018
The Cleveland Browns have let go of Mychal Kendricks after he was indicted for insider trading.
Here's a statement from Browns general manager John Dorsey on Mychal Kendricks release below:
Prior to signing Mychal, we were informed that there was a financial situation that he had been involved with in 2014. We were told Mychal had fully cooperated with investigators as a victim. From what was communicated at that time and based on the numerous questions we asked and further due diligence on our part, including checking with the league office, there was no information discovered that conveyed otherwise.
Recently, we were provided an update on the matter and the circumstances have changed. We are now dealing with a different set of facts and the additional information we’ve gathered has led us to the decision to release Mychal from our team. Due to the ongoing legal nature of this situation, we will have no further comments.
Can't say we didn't see this coming.

Future and his son's mother Brittni Mealy are fueling engagement rumors after celebrating her 31st birthday together. Get into their coupledom tingz, plus peep pics of Drake and recently retired NFLer Victor Cruz inside...
After publicly claiming his son's mother Brittni Mealy as his "queen," Future is seemingly treating her as such...well, as best he knows how because, yeah.
The birthday festivities kicked off over the weekend with a private dinner to celebrate Brittni's 31st birthday. Both Future and Brittni, the mother of his son Prince Wilburn, posted up pictures and videos on their social media accounts from the soiree:
In an Instagram caption, Brittni thanked Future for making her birthday amazing. "This birthday has been amazing thus far [heart emoji] Thank you!," she wrote.
He wasn't done there though...
Now that she's back to being the main chick (for now), the "Mask Off" rapper made sure to lace her up with luxury gifts for her birthday. Brittni copped a Rolex, a diamond necklace, two diamond bracelets AND two diamond rings (seen above). In one of her IG stories, she shared all of the items he gifted her. And, of course, she's wearing her two new diamond rings on her ring finger.
While cruising on a yacht listening to music with Future and a few friends, she made sure to show off her new gifts to her social media followers.
If you look closely, you'll notice Future appears to be wearing an iced out ring on his ring finger as well in the pic below:
You can also see she's wearing two diamond rings on her ring finger while hopping onon a private jet in the picture above.
Check out video from their birthday shenanigans below:
Bow Wow's daughter's mom Joie Chavis, who's rumored to be pregnant by Future and supposedly the woman who caused Brit & Future to break up the last time, was busy posting videos of her bump on social media over the weekend.
It is still unclear if Future is the biological father, but time will tell.
Looks like Brittni's content with being the main...for now.
In celeb spottings...
Before hitting the stage in Brooklyn tonight on his Aubrey & The Three Amigos Tours, Drake linked up with recently retired NFL star Victor Cruz recently.
The "In My Feelings" rapper and the former NY Giants player stepped out for some good eats at Nobu in NYC.
Since leaving the league, Victor has some free time on his hands. But not too much. He has joined ESPN as an NFL analyst and started last week. And he's also on boyfriend duty with his girlfriend/"Claws" actress Karrueche.
In other news, Kanye West called out Drake this week during a radio interview on Chicago’s 107.5 WGCI Morning Show. 'Ye called Drizzy "insensitive" for continuing his feud with Pusha T (and dragging him into it) while he was in Wyoming trying to get his life together. Yeezy also mentioned the Young Money rapper got mad over a beat and sent him purple demon emojis.
Well, the 6 God responded with a red demon emoji, along with a laughing emoji on social media:
Lordt. While these two are still not cool, 'Ye did say they would eventually patch things up.
Earlier this month, Drake dissed the "Ultralight Beam" rapper during a show in Kanye's hometown of Chicago. If you missed, get those deets HERE.
Today, we lay to rest the daughter of Detroit, Motown and the soul of the world. Watch the immaculate, final good-bye to the Queen of Soul, Aretha Franklin, live inside.
The woman who has worn every hat in her life beyond her own family - from the daughter of a preacher and the city of Detroit to the godmother of soul - is receiving the most quintessential send off, fit for the Queen that she will always be.
Aretha Franklin, our beautiful and forever Queen of Soul, died August 16th at the age of 76 after a long battle with pancreatic cancer. She lied in state for two days, with outfit changes on both days, this week at Detroit's African American History Museum where thousands of fans wrapped the block to pay their final respects.
At the start of today's ceremony at Greater Grace Temple in Detroit, a military procession took place around her 24K gold plated casket with the choir speaking to every soul in the building.
Ms. Franklin is in her final outfit change of her several days of services - a gold beaded dress and gold shoes.
Seen inside the sanctuary: Jesse Jackson, Clive Davis, Cicely Tyson, John Conyers, Marvin Sapp, Bishop TD Jakes, President Bill Clinton, Hillary Clinton, Cleveland Cavaliers owner Dan Gilbert, Isaiah Thomas, Ariana Grande, Pete Davidson, Jennifer Holliday, Faith Hill, Minister Farrakhan, Al Sharpton, Congresswoman Maxine Waters, Gov. Rick Snyder, Fantasia, Smokey Robinson, Al Sharpton, Detroit Mayor Mike Duggan, former Attorney General Eric Holder, Tyler Perry, Minister Farrakhan, Shirley Caesar, Gladys Knight, Whoopi Goldberg.
The full program for the ambitious 5-hour ceremony (VERY likely to go beyond that) is below:
Eminem surprised everyone by dropping a new album at midnight, and he has some things to get off his chest. He fired shots at a slew of rappers. More inside...
Eminem just pulled a Beyonce, dropping an album while most of us were sleeping, or about to go to sleep.
— Marshall Mathers (@Eminem) August 31, 2018
The rapper dropped KAMIKAZE right at midnight, which is the follow up to his 2017 Revival. Folks weren't feeling that album, so Em had to return to the studio to bring some heat. And that's exactly what he did.
The Detroit rapper came after damn near every rapper in the game. Specifically, former Shady Records signee/longtime peer Joe Budden.
It all started when Em dropped that BET cipher aimed at Trump and the track "Untouchable" that was featured on Revival.
Joe heavily critiqued Em, questioning folks if they really wanted to listen to a "woke" Eminem during an episode of the "Everyday Struggle" web series with his co-host DJ Akademiks. Last week, Budden also touched on his relationship with Em during an interview with Power 105's "The Breakfast Club."
Here's a snippet:
— Power 105.1 (@Power1051) August 31, 2018
Em heard you Budden, and now he wants smoke.
On the title track KAMIKAZE, Em unleashes some fighting words on his former Slaughterhouse brethren and he also popped off on Akademiks.
“Somebody tell Budden before I snap/ He better fasten it, Or have his body bag get zipped/The closest thing he’s had to hits/ Since smacking b*tches.”
Lordt. We talkin' body bags?!
Oh, and get this, he dropped it on Budden's birthday today.
Funny, so do i. https://t.co/k2CMVLvmdY
— Joe Budden (@JoeBudden) August 31, 2018
And here's what he he had to say to Akademiks:
“And don’t make me have to give it back to Akademiks / Say this sh*t is trash again, I’ll have you twisted like you had it / When you thought you had me slippin’ at the telly.”
Em seemingly came for Drake (y'all know Drake likes to call himself the GOAT and Em went in on his rumored usage of ghostwriters)on his track "Fall":
“Put me on a track, I go cray on it like a color book/You got some views, but you’re still below me / Mine are higher so when you compare our views you get overlooked / And I don’t say a hook unless I wrote the hook.”
“All I know is I wrote every single word of everything I ever murdered / Time to separate the sheep from goats / And I got no faith in your writers, I don’t believe in ghosts."
Elsewhere on the LP...
He fired shots at Lil Yachty and mumble rappers:
“Get this f*ckin’ audio out my audio, adios / I can see why people like Lil Yachty, but not me though/Not even dissin’, it just ain’t for me / All I am simply is just an emcee.”
“And mumble, oh f*ck it / I’m goin’ for the jugular / This sh*t is a circus,” he raps. “You clowns that are comin’ up don’t give an ounce of mother f*ck / About the ones that were here before you that make raps.”
Em reallyhates mumble rap:
“'Hatata batata, why don’t we make a bunch of fuckin’/Songs about nothin’ and mumble!/And f*ck it, I’m goin’ for the jugular/Shit is a circus, you clowns that are comin’ up/Don’t give an ounce of a motherf*ck/About the ones that were here before you to make raps, it’s recap”
He goes in on newbie rappers Lil Pump and Lil Xan:
“Lil Pump, Lil Xan imitate Lil Wayne/I should aim at everybody in the game, pick a name/I’m fed up with being humble/And rumor is I’m hungry/I’m sure you heard bumblings/I heard you wanna rumble like an empty stomach/I heard your mumbling but it’s jumbled in mumbo-jumbo”
Em popped off on Machine Gun Kelly for comparing himself to him:
“But next time you don’t gotta use Tech N9ne if you wanna come at me with a sub-machine gun / And I’m talking to you but you already know who the f*ck you are, Kelly / I don’t use sublims and sure as f*ck don’t sneak-diss / But keep commenting on my daughter Hailie.”
And he also went at Tyler, The Creator:
“Tyler create nothing, I see why you called yourself a f***ot, b*tch/It’s not just ’cause you lack attention/It’s ’cause you worship D12’s balls, you’re sac-rilegious/If you’re gonna critique me, you better at least be as good or better”
The homophobic slur Em used to describe Tyler (after Tyler used it himself) is causing him to receive backlash:
Yes, Tyler called himself this word before BUT our dear Eminem doesn’t have the right to not only use the word in a rap BUT ALSO extend the homophobia by being like: yeah you’re gay bc you love balls
No. Nope. Never.
— Zach Stafford (@ZachStafford) August 31, 2018
We just gonna act like Eminem didn’t just passively call Tyler, The Creator a f*ggot tho? pic.twitter.com/LP7lmpvhm5
— [redacted] (@cloutpipe) August 31, 2018
Eminem can catch a huge L for calling Tyler, the Creator the f word. Ya old bitter ass
— juulstar woody (@atwoodotj) August 31, 2018
Em popped off on Power 105's radio host Charlamagne tha God:
“Charlamagne gonna hate anyway/Doesn’t matter what I say/Give me Donkey of the Day”
He went in on the Grammys:
“Then tell the Grammys to go and f*ck themselves, they suck the/blood from all the biggest artists like some leeches/So they nominate ’em, get ’em there, get a name to ’em/See the show, every parasite needs a host”
And, of course, Trump:
“But I think it’s workin’/These verses are makin’ him a wee bit nervous/And he’s too scared to answer me with words/’Cause he knows that he will lyrically get murdered/But I know at least he’s heard it/’Cause Agent Orange just sent the Secret Service/To meet in person/To see if I really think of hurtin’ him/Or ask if I’m linked to terrorists”
Guess he had to let folks know...
Lakers baller LeBron James is feeling it too:
Now if y’all think this @Eminem“Kamikaze” album isn’t you’re just hating and incompetent of lyrics/cadence/breakdown of his raps. Oh and he putting quite a few in a body bag too !
— LeBron James (@KingJames) August 31, 2018
There’s only one thing I can say negative about Kamikaze and that is “Kamikaze” and “Fall” on the track list is misplaced!

What in the strip club hell?
Cardi B doesn't dance now and makes money moves. However, she's still finding herself caught up in strip club drama.
The "Bodak Yellow" rapper is being accused by two strip club bartenders for ordering people from her squad to physically assault them. The reason? Allegedly, Bardi issued the attack because she believes one of the women slept with her husband/daughter's father, Offset.
Strip club bartenders Jade (right) and Baddie Gi (left), who are also sisters, claim they came face-to-face with the "Be Careful" rapper on August 29th inside Angels Strip Club in Queens and that's when ish hit the fan. According to TMZ, a group of people from Cardi's squad allegedly attacked them both, throwing bottles and chairs at them. They reportedly suffered injuries that needed medical attention.
The bartenders also specifically named Cardi as one of the people who threw a bottle at them and she allegedly yelled out, "I'm blood I'll f*ck you b*tches up!" There's video of Bardi in the club that night that you can check out here.
This isn't one of the sisters' first run-in with the Invasion of Privacy rapper. Jade made claims that the "I Like It" rapper made threats towards her on Instagram. Back in June, she said she and her sister Baddie Gi ran into Cardi at a hotel in Atlanta and that's when she accused Jade of sleeping with her husband Offset. Jade denies ever sleeping with Offset.
Fast forward to August 15th, Jade said five people allegedly associated with Cardi viciously attacked her where she said she was punched, had her hair pulled and was hit with an ashtray, causing "serious damage." Sheesh.
The sisters have lawyered up and will have Joe Tacopina (Meek Mill's lawyer) to represent them since they're looking into filing a lawsuit against Cardi and her crew. Joe told TMZ both ladies plan to file a police report and Cardi's name will indeed be listed. Cardi hasn't responded to the reports (yet), but someone in her camp reportedly told the site the NYC raptress never got physical with the women.
Baby Kulture's parents have been dealing with cheating rumors since last year. You'll recall, the Migos' rapper iCloud account was allgedly hacked and a video of the rapper in a hotel room with another woman was leaked. Bardi decided to stay and work it out with the "Stir Fry" rapper, marrying him and having their daughter, Kulture Kiari Cephus.
Back in July, Offset was arrested in Georgia on four charges, including possession of a firearm by a felon, possession of marijuana (one ounce or less), possession of a weapon during a crime and an improper lane change. Baby Kulture was born July 10th and her dad was arrested 10 days later.
In other news..
Bardi hopped on Instagram Live yesterday pondering if she should get liposuction to suck the fat out of her post-baby "love handles."
“I still feel like I got a lot of love handles right here,” she said while pulling on her stomach. “It’s not much but it’s like — I’m used to having, like, a real tight stomach.”
The 25-year-old explained she doesn't have time to work out, so she may just get the fat take out.
“If I’m not working, I gotta make sure my baby’s okay. I might just get a little lipo, you know what I’m sayin’?” she said.
Girl, it's only been 7 weeks. Give it some time.

Aretha Franklin's family is speaking out about the photo of The Queen of Soul's body in her casket that has gone viral and her disappointment with the funeral service. More inside...
On Friday, Aretha Franklin was laid to rest at the Greater Grace Temple in her hometown of Detroit. It was a tribute fit for a queen that lasted over 6-hours with tons of her celebrity friends in attendance and fans lined up outside to pay their last respects.
Now, a member of Aretha's family is speaking out to express her disappointment with how the Queen of Soul's funeral service was handled, and she also addressed the leaked photo of Aretha in her casket.
In a Facebook post, Kafi Franklin, wrote about how shocked she was to find out out how "selfish and insensitive" people are. She shared her 12-year-old daughter broke down in tears when she saw the leaked photo of her grandmother being posted on social media sites.
"I didn’t want to post my opinion about any of this because over all the love was overwhelming but when my 12 year old was brought to tears from seeing her Grandmother in a casket all over social media... I feel I must.. I can’t believe that some people are sooo selfish and insensitive," she wrote.
Kafi said the photo of Aretha in her casket being shared has only made things worst for her kids and the rest of the family as they're coping with her death. She also called out people who used Aretha's funeral "benefit themselves or to entertain or achieve personal agenda with no regards to the family." She said she's upset that people were treating the funeral more like a concert than a homegoing service.
"My children lost their grandmother.. her sons lost their mom.. so many people completely ignored their grief and selfishly used this situation to benefit themselves or to entertain or achieve personal agenda with no regards to the family. To all the people who posted negative pics/fake news, to all those who treated the funeral like a concert or event.. to those that callously spoke on everything but words of comfort and love Shame on you .. you made a child /family suffer even more than they were... you made a difficult day even more so for us all"
Read her full message below:
People posting pictures of the deceased in their caskets is very insensitive and disrespectful. We hate how social media has caused people to feel like they have to be the first one's to post something for likes and followers.
Hopefully, the family can work with their attorney and start having the photos taken down. There's no reason for them.
Here's a clip of Aretha's grandchildren and family speaking during the service below:
Aretha's good friend/music icon Stevie Wonder served up a powerful rendition of "The Lord's Prayer" on his harmonica when he hit the stage to honor his longtime friend during her funeral dubbed, “A Celebration Fit for the Queen.”
The red carpet was rolled out for the Queen as family and friends shared touching stories, sang some of her classics and praised her for her successful life, in the music industry and outside of it. At least 1,000 fans, who were dressed appropriately, were allowed to attend the private funeral service. The rest of us watched from out computers and smart devices since her family allowed the service to be streamed online.
“The greatest gift that has been given in life itself is love. We can talk about all the things that are wrong, and there are many, but the only thing that can deliver us is love,” Stevie said after his performance. “We need to make love great again.”
Assisted by Angie Stone, Jenifer Lewis, Shirley Murdock, and Dottie Peoples, Stevie performed Aretha's “Until You Come Back to Me” and his classic, “As.”
Edward Franklin, one of Aretha's sons, tried to keep his composure as best he could as he sung Marvin Gaye’s “Mercy, Mercy Me” to his mother:
Fantasia came out of her shoes to bring a powerful rendition of "Precious Lord," a song Aretha sung on her 1972 album, Amazing Grace.
“I hope she don’t mind—I don’t think she would—but I think I’m gonna come out my shoes,” Fanny said before she began her selection:
Jennifer Hudson, who was handpicked by Aretha to play her in an upcoming biopic, brought the house down with "Amazing Grace":
Aretha's longtime friend Smokey Robinson opened up about growing up down the street from Aretha before he sung a tribute to her.
“I didn’t know, especially this soon, that I was going to have to say goodbye to you,” he said. “We talked about it many times that we’re the two that were left from all our neighborhood friends.”
Chaka Khan performed "Goin' Up Yonder" with the lyrics printed on the back of a blue fan. She stretched the song into 10 minutes, so we assume she didn't want to make any mistakes:
Hollywood veteran Cicely Tyson, decked out in the flyest church hat ever, made her way on stage to speak about her friend and to deliver a version of Paul Laurence Dunbar’s dialect poem “When Malindy Sings.
Rev Al Sharpton called out Trump during his speech. He had to correct No. 45 about who Aretha REALLY "worked" for.
"When word went out that Ms. Franklin passed, Trump said she used to work for me," he said. "No, she used to perform for you. She worked for us. Aretha never took orders from nobody but God."
Peep his speech below:
Rev. Jesse Jackson revealed he and Aretha had known each other for over 60 years and reflected on their longtime friendship. He talked about her role in the civil rights movement and how her father led a march in Detroit that laid the groundwork for Martin Luther King Jr.'s to march in Washington D.C.
Tyler Perry hit the stage and shared some touching words about Aretha
Former president Bill Clinton talked about how he and his wife Hillary Clinton were fans of Aretha and even played one of her tracks from his cellphone.
Peep his speech below:
Before singer Gladys Knight hit the pulpit to reflect on her good friend, she had the Internet in a tizzy when in an interview she alluded to having the "same disease" as Aretha.
She later clarified she does not have pancreatic cancer (like Aretha did). She once had breast cancer, but said she's now cancer free.
“I’d like to clarify that Aretha and I discussed both of us having cancer, mine was stage 1 breast cancer and hers was pancreatic,” she said in a statement.“Due to early detection, I am cancer free and grateful for that. It is unfortunate that on a day we should be celebrating Aretha’s life and massive contribution to our world, a reporter who did not relay accurate information has missed the message. I send my love to the entire Franklin family and my gratitude to them for sharing such an extraordinary person with us.”
Glad she cleared that up.
Judge Greg Mathis and former Attorney General Eric Holder also hit the stage to talk about their relationships with the Queen.
Professor Eric Dyson, a Detroit native, had the church on fire when he delivered his speech:
Former White House aide Omarosa was also in the mix.
The Clark Sisters and Pastor Shirley Caesar served up performances we know Aretha would have been proud of:
In honor of Aretha, more than 100 pink Cadillacs gathered on Seven Mile Road to escort the hearse carrying the late singer’s casket to the funeral service at Greater Grace Temple. Aretha was a fan of the Cadillac, specifically pink ones, and sang about them in her 1985 hit “Freeway of Love.” Check it:

Rest In Power Queen!
As for the drama...
Bishop Charles H. Ellis III, who presided over Aretha Franklin's funeral, apologized to singer Ariana Grande after he was accused of groping the singer's side boob on stage after her performance. He also apologized for the Taco Bell joke he made about her name. Peep his apology above.
So, what are your thoughts about the Queen's homegoing service?
After we reported Evelyn Lozada's ex-fiance Carl Crawford is rumored to be dating a female rapper he now manages, we hear there may be a new woman in the picture. And she's pregnant.
Carl Crawford and up and coming rapper "Megan Thee Stallion" deny they're dating. We were tipped off that Carl is now involved an artist management company called 1501 Entertainment, which Megan is now affiliated with. The IG account refuted the dating rumors between the two.
However, as soon as we revealed his new gig and his potential new boo thang Megan, we learned there may be a different woman in the picture. And she's pregnant.
We were told weeks ago that a woman named Gabby has also been dating Carl, and there may be some beef between her and Megan because of it. We were told then that Gabby is allegedly carrying Carl's child, and today, we received her first baby bump pics.
Neither Carl nor Gabby have confirmed if they're dating or if they're having a baby together. But our tea cup runneth over.
Carl's first cousin JoJo actually congratulated Gabby on Instagram underneath a baby bump pic:
Meanwhile, Carl has been busy living his best life in these strip clubs and studios, just flexin' all in the rapper world:
Chris Brown's daughter's mother Nia Guzman is back in the headlines over child support. And now, Floyd Mayweather's name is being thrown in the mix. Deets inside...
Nia Guzman, mother of Chris Brown's daughter Roylaty Brown, is ready to take Chris Brown back to court over child support payments. Since starting the process, details about her financial situation are leaking and now, Breezy's enemy Floyd Mayweather Jr. has been thrown in the mix.
So here's what's going on...
Nia recently filed to have her $2,000/month child support payments increased to a cool $20,000/month since she claims Breezy makes a boatload of money that should be shared with his daughter, Royalty Brown.
In the paperwork, she claimed she only made $400/month from an online clothing store (RoyaltyBrown.com), inspired by her 4-year-old daughter.
During a recent deposition by the R&B singer's legal team regarding the child support increase, Nia reportedly revealed a "friend" gifted her $20,000 to help jump start the company. At first, she wasn't trying to tell Chris' lawyers the identity of her "silent friend." After his team pressed her about the investor, Nia finally admitted that it was Floyd Mayweather Jr. He apparently "lent" her the money to start her e-commerce business.
Nia said she and Floyd have "been friends for 10+ years" and that she knows one of Floyd's children's mother too, and that they "all go back many years." Nia told them the Money Team honcho “heard about the idea of me wanting to start the company, and he said that he would help with it at no cost.”
No cost huh?
When asked how he found out about the business, she said she told him.
As you all know, Chris and Floyd stopped being cool after that celebrity boxing fiasco with Soulja Boy. At first, Floyd was promoting the fight under his boxing brand, but then he started trainingSoulja Boy and Breezy wasn't feeling that.
There was social media drama and Nia joined in posting up a picture of Royalty at Floyd's gym:
Proud to represent Nia Guzman as she fights for her baby’s right to be supported by her father, Chris Brown. A child is entitled to the parent’s level of comfort, and every decent parent WANTS that for their child. https://t.co/gsgxt515DR
— Lisa Bloom (@LisaBloom) September 4, 2018
Whew chile, the mess.
After Nia filed for a child support increase (she's being represented by Lisa Bloom), the "Loyal" singer filed his own paperwork saying Nia is using their daughter as a "pawn" to get more money. He reportedly pays $2K/month and also pays Nia's mother $4K/month as a "nanny" to his daughter.
Chris says anything more than what he's already paying is in Nia's interests (and not Royalty's), and that giving their daughter a large amount of money could be "harmful."
The Blast reports:
Brown filed documents to fight Guzman’s attempt to get more money, claiming this is already the third time she has asked for an increase in support. He claims based on Guzman’s own financial documents, between her income, Brown’s support, and the spousal support she receives from a prior marriage … Guzman ends up with a surplus each month of $6,628 a month.
He also notes that of Guzman’s $15,750 in monthly expenses, $14,950 of it is paid for by other people.
Brown also takes issue with Guzman’s assertion that Brown only has custody of Royalty for 20% of the time. He claims he has Royalty 12 days a month, which actually constitutes double what Guzman claims.
In addition, Chris Brown argues that if the court the standard child support guidelines in determining support, the amount would far exceed Royalty’s needs because he is “an extraordinarily high wage earner.” He argues that “providing a four-year-old with everything she demands could be harmful and is not in her best interest.”
Brown says he already pays for $6,000 a month for private school, medical expenses, and a nanny (even though she uses her mother a nanny). He also shells out $1,770.98 a month in vacations and travel, $1,516.59 for gifts and entertainment, and another $419 for extracurricular activities.
Breezy said he'd pay up to $9,813, but he's definitely not dishing out $20,000/month like she's asking.
Is working an actual job that brings in more than $400/month to much to ask, if you want more than every expense covered plus $10K/month? Or nah?

Jay Z's Made In America festival had Philly on fire over the weekend with performances by Nicki Minaj, her ex-boyfriend Meek Mill, Kendrick Lamar and more. Get it all inside...
The weather in Philly was been going back and forth between gloomy and hot AF, but that didn't stop your faves from hitting the stage for Jay Z's Made In America Festival held at Benjamin Franklin Parkway. It almost didn't go down in its usual location, but Hov met with Philadelphia Mayor Jim Kenney and they were able to work things out to have the festival go on in its usual location.
Nicki Minaj was tapped as a headliner for this year's concert and she surely put on a show. While performing her Eminem-assisted track "Majesty," the top to her dress slid to the side after one of her dancers removed her coat. The "Chun-Li" rapper kept it professional, quickly grabbing her dress to cover her exposed chest. Apparently, she had pasties put on her lady lumps before she hit the stage, however, they were see-through. She said she usually wears NON see-through ones, but "they" put the wrong ones on.
Watch the wardrobe malfunction below:

A fan tweeted about Nicki's "nip slip," and she responded with the deets:
"They put on see thru pasties on me while heading to stage," Nicki tweeted. "I just KNEW they were my normal (non see through ones) chile... ummmm they were not!"
During her set, she brought out Tekashi 6ix9ine ("FEFE"), Lil Uzi Vert ("The Way Life Goes"), and ASAP Ferg (“Plain Jane” and “Work [Remix]) and went through a medley of her hits.
Peep her performance below, and she addressed the multiple times her fans saw her boobs. We doubt they're complaining:
Rapper Kendrick Lamar, who appeared in an episode of "Power" this season, also hit the stage for Day 2 of the festival. Check his performance below:
To kick off the epic festival, Philly native and Nicki's ex Meek Mill turned up on stage for a lit homecoming performance on Day 1. It was his first performance in his hometown since he was released from prisonearlier this year, so you know he was on 1,000.
Post Malone, who suffered a scare when his private plane had to make an emergency landing closed the night with a performance.
NewlywedPusha T hit the stage to do what he loves best...other than being hubby to his wife Virginia.
R&B crooner Miguel hit the stage to bring his sultry hits and put a few remixed touches on a few faves:
Breakout R&B hitmaker Daniel Caesar brought some vibes everyone could appreciate.
Saweetie had everyone turnt when she performed her hit "ICY GRL." Check it:
Check out a few moments, including a few with Hov himself, during the festival below:

Childish Gambino put Michelle Obama and Kanye West in his new animated video and now people serving up their opinions about it. Go inside to see the clip to give your own interpretation, plus see what FLOTUS was up to before she shared a moment with former president George W. Bush inside...
When Donald Glover isn't creating magic in film, he's creating conversation pieces via music.
Using his rap name, Childish Gambino dropped a new visual titled "Feels Like Summer” over the weekend that has everyone talking. It's an animated clip of Childish Gambino strolling down the street, listening to headphones. Animated versions of several artists appear in the background engaging in summer activities.
Rapper Birdman is on the grill, Nicki Minaj and Travis Scott are playing with toy blocks (instead of feuding like in real life right now), Chance the Rapper is playing with who looks like Jaden Smith, (although some are arguing that it's Eminem), 21 Savage is smoking in his car, Drake is chasing Future on a bicycle, Migos are playing basketball, Will Smith is washing his car, Janelle Monae& Tessa Thompson are skateboarding...just to name a few. It's loaded with your faves and it gives off a cool summer vibe in the hood.
The screen then goes black and shows Kid Cudi, who looks down in the dumps. He disappears and then a crying Kanye West pops up. The Chi-town rapper is wearing a red "Make America Great Again" hat, like the one he wore and posted on Twitter as he praised Trump. Waterfalls of tears are streaming down his face.
Out of nowhere, former First Lady Michelle Obama appears and gives 'Ye a hug. Yeezy's tears dry up and then the clip changes into a visual of Beyonce wearing a "R.I.P. Fredo Santana" t-shirt.
Check it below at the 2-minute mark, but you will want to watch the entire thing. It's powerful:
Once the visuals hit the Internet, people have been sounding off about the Kanye West/Michelle Obama moment. Some people want to know why is it that a black woman has to "save" or "heal" Kanye West? Here are some of the tweets:
— Sojourner I am the Dragon breathing Fire Okoye (@LegalSojourner) September 2, 2018
childish gambino depicting michelle obama as like a savior for kanye is such bs lmao i’m tired of black women needing to “save” black men so they can come to their senses about who they are and the realities of the world we live in
— ugh (@wasteofdevotion) September 2, 2018
So out of all of the messages/ways to interpret Gambino’s #FeelsLikeSummer video, y’all got that he was saying Kanye needs to be saved by a Black woman?
Aren’t y’all tired of telling us/forcing the idea that we need to save you niggas?? Cause Im DEFLEE tired of hearing it.
— Jada (@FrostyJada) September 3, 2018
So in childish gambino's new video, #FeelsLikeSummer there's a scene where Kanye is getting comforted by Michelle Obama
The scene implies that a black woman needs to help Kanye
Which is rather stupid, if you ask me. pic.twitter.com/5aUN3HR1k7
— Tenta Corrosive/22 days till B day (@Tentacorrosive) September 3, 2018
— Kesia Hobbs (@KFHobbs) September 3, 2018
However, some people have different interpretations of the moment's significance:
The Michelle Obama/Kanye West hug from the #FeelsLikeSummer video is nearly identical to her hug with George W Bush. @donaldglover is saying that Kanye, who once said "George Bush doesn't care about black people", has become the same person he once despised. pic.twitter.com/Ipp49GbmYf

I don’t understand why women are gettin so upset how can you be mad at a cartoon saying that black women can help black men. Nobody said it’s your duty nobody said it’s your job or it’s not like you held under oath or in contempt. #FeelsLikeSummerpic.twitter.com/23zuVSM5ws
— HUMBLEST DJ(@DJ_COLEBLOODED) September 3, 2018
Everyone upset over #FeelsLikeSummer because they feel like it promotes the idea that it is the job of black women to “save” black men need to chill.
I interpreted it as both black men AND black women working TOGETHER to fix our problems
— Sean-Michael Green (@oflogicandlove) September 2, 2018
I see Michelle Obama in the #FeelsLikeSummer video more as a representation of Chicago. How Kanye needs that embrace of his roots/where he comes from. Not as any Black woman saving Black man. Why choose MO? because she is Chicago.
— DocGreenwood (@DrSyD) September 2, 2018
Also, this user served up a quick recap of some of the possible meanings Donald Glover put throughout the video:
I’m here for #ChildishGambino visual for #FeelsLikeSummer, it was basically everyone in the music industry and his take on how this year went so far. No shade, just the truth on how music was this summer. #DonaldGlover#FeelsLikeSummer#ChildishGambino#brilliantpic.twitter.com/5mZs9Wghc7

Michelle Obama shared a special moment with former president George W. Bush during Sen. John McCain's memorial service Saturday. Democrats and Republicans came together to celebrate decades of public service by McCain, who died August 25th at the age of 81, at the Washington National Cathedral. Former president Barack Obama and former president Bush were tapped to speak.
While Sen. Joe Lieberman of Connecticut was speaking, cameras caught Bush hand forever FLOTUS a cough drop. It was initially thought he handed her a piece of candy. She thanked him afterwards. That quick moment went viral. It's nice to see how close they still are despite their political differences. (Let's not forget their previous shenanigans sitting next to each other at events). Peep the clip above.
And before she made it to the funeral...
Forver FLOTUS enjoyed a relaxing vacation in Mallorca, one of Spain's Balearic Islands in the Mediterranean.
She was spotted being escorted out of a restaurant while trying to keep a low profile. We'd spot those cute curls anywhere though.

“The stories that we’ve all just heard – of resilience, strength of spirit, and the power of working together – were without doubt, incredibly moving and motivating," he continued. "They really sum up what WellChild is all about – giving families the best chance to care for their children at home, and supporting them through the reality of all that that entails."
“I would like to thank all the families here this evening. The mothers, fathers, brothers and sisters, and many other family members who are devoted to their children and are giving them the best care possible. In blended family love news...
Swizz Beatz and his wife Alicia Keys planned a family vacay to Egypt, so they decided to invite Swizz's ex-wife/son' mother Mashonda Tifrere along for the fun. No real surprise there since Mashonda embarked on a family vacay with the Dean Family before.
Swizz, Alicia, Mashonda and their kids - Kasseem Jr. (whom Swizz shares with Mashonda), sons Genesis Ali and Egypt Daoud (whom he shares with Alicia), son Prince Nasir and daughter Nicole (from two previous relationships) - jetted to Egypt to soak in all the knowledge, epic sculptures and artifacts they could. They seem to make it work. We also here Nicole's mother Jahna may have been here as well.
Oh, and Mashonda is making this co-parenting thing work for her pockets too. She recently was out promoting her new co-parenting book, "Blend: The Secret to Co-Parenting and Creating a Balanced Family," where she shares insights about her co-parenting journey with her ex-husband and her son's step mother.
“Co-parenting and blending is a universal topic and many don’t know where to begin,” Mashonda added. “This book will serve as the inspiration and blueprint that is needed to raise emotionally and mentally healthy children.”
With so many kids in the mix, it was important for Mashonda to find a healthy co-parenting balance when her son questioned her about why she doesn't get along with his father.
“Six years ago, my [then] 5-year-old son asked me why his father and I didn’t like each other anymore. I realized that he was reacting to our lack of communication and unity as parents. It was a wake-up call,” the 40-year-old artist said in an interview chatting about her new book.
The "Superwoman" singer contributed to the book, providing a heartfelt foreword. And so did Swizz. He wrote a chapter for fathers.
“With a dedicated chapter for fathers written by Swizz and a heartfelt foreword penned by Alicia, the three of us are raising our voices to help generations of families worldwide,” Mashonda shared. “I’m certain that the book will become a toolbox for mindful parents all over the world.”
Mashonda's book is expected to be released October 2nd.

Wheeeeew Chile, the HARLEM.
Ceaser and his crew are ready to take over the world – but the world’s going to put up a fight. Starting with O'Sh*t (if you don't watch, YES, that is his name unless you're calling him by his government name, Richard). We guess the former "Black Ink" tattoo artist still has his wife Nicki in his ear, and y'all know the rest of the crew is still calling her a scammer.
Ceasar is also expanding to New Orleans this season, after bringing the foolery in his new Atlanta shop last season, and ish is about to get realer than real.
By the way, Young Bae had her baby, and we can't wait to see her and Sky (who recently reunited with her teen sons) both in Mommy Mode this season. Now maybe they'll cut tree hugging lil Melanie some slack.
An all-new season of "Black Ink Crew" kicks off September 19 at 9/8c.

Everyone was losing it as "The Bobby Brown Story" premiered on BET last night. If you haven't watched yet and don't want any spoliers, stop reading now. For the rest of us, let's get into this crazy part 1, plus flicks from the show's screenings inside...
“It’s been so many years living reckless, doing drugs… to be honest… I don’t know why I’m still alive.”
Part one of ‘The Bobby Brown Story’ airs tonight at 9/8C on BET!#BobbyBrownBETpic.twitter.com/WnIJ3JIbQb

Part 1 of "The Bobby Brown Story" had Twitter abuzz as folks were sharing their unfiltered responses to all of the shenanigans Bobby Brown was involved in back in the day. Like, his alleged "friends with benefits" situationship he had going on with pop star Janet Jackson.
According to Bobby, he and Miss Jackson used to get it in, real raunchy like, in hotel rooms in the late 80s - while in a relationship with singer James DeBarge. Let him tell it, he even kicked her out of his hotel room once after having sex.
He also alleged Janet never wanted to go public with their "relationship" because he was black. The film alluded Janet didn't want anyone to know about their relationship because it would upset her father.
If you read Bobby's memoir, he mentioned being involved with Janet, but we assume seeing it on television brings it to life in a different way. Also, we still don't know if it's entirely true as Janet has never confirmed this.
Here's how Twitter reacted:
Bobby Brown smoked the strongest weed and sniffed the strongest coke for two decades and y'all believe anything that comes out of his mouth regarding Janet Jackson? Couldn't be me #BobbyBrownBET#JanetJackson

As for the other tea that had folks talking...
People were shocked to learn that Bobby's current wife Alicia Etheredge Brown has been around - and in his life - since the 90s. Bobby and Alicia tied the knot in 2012, four months after Whitney's death. She was introduced to Bobby as producer Teddy Riley's girlfriend.
In one scene from Part 1, Alicia is in the bathroom with Bobby, encouraging him to go on with his wedding to Whitney Houston when he got cold feet. Peep viewers' reactions below:

Another shocker was the fact that, in the movie, Bobby didn't find out Whitney's drug use until their wedding day. Folks weren't buying it:

Kanye West has issued a public apology to Drake in series of tweets. Read his full apology, plus hear what Joe Budden has to say about Eminem dissing him inside...
Kanye West wasn't playing when he said he and Drake would soon squash their beef during a radio interview in Chicago last month.
In the wee hours of the morning, 'Ye hopped on Twitter to issue Drizzy a public apology, following a rap beef he was dragged into between his G.O.O.D. Music artist Pusha T and the Young Money rapper. By the way, this apology to Drake comes after he apologized for his "slavery is a choice" comments.
Ish got messy when Pusha T first called Drizzy out on rumors that he uses ghostwriters on his Kanye-produced album, Daytona. A rap battle ensued where Pusha spilled some tea on Drizzy, revealing he had a son he was keeping under wraps with former adult-film star Sophie Brussaux.
Ye also apparently stole Drake's album release date, or something of the sort. He dropped Ye weeks before SCORPION, so Yeezy fessed up to being messy with the album release dates.
“I understand where the confusion started,” the PABLE rapper tweeted. “Let me start by apologizing for stepping on your release date in the first place…”
As we all know, this was around the time Kanye was heavily in the headlines over his "slavery is a choice" comments and backing Trump antics. He briefly addressed that and then went on to talk about how he and Drake were supposed to collaborate on his track "Lift Yourself." Maybe that's why he just added the "poopity scoop" lyrics to spite Drake?
“We were building a bond and working on music together,” Ye tweeted. "We spoke about doing ‘Lift Yourself’ together I should have given you the opportunity for us to do this together before I released it.”
Kanye said since he was building a relationship with Drake, he should have spoken to Pusha T about the Quentin Miller lyric and excused himself from any negative energy that was aimed at the Canadian rapper.
The "Ultralight Beams" rapper said he did not tell Pusha about his child and said he doesn't "play with the idea of people's children after I spoke to Wiz [Khalifa] a few years earlier."
He ended his apology telling Drake he loved him and that he would be coming to see him soon.
Peep the tweets (read from the bottom up):
And then there's this...
Nick Cannon appeared on Complex's "Everyday Struggle" alluding that Drake could have smashed Kanye's wife Kim Kardashian West. DJ Akademiks said he believes Drake had sex with Kim K and that's when Nick defended his opinion saying, "that ain't that far off of a concept."
"There's something real personal going on in that world," Nick continued."Knowing Drake, he's the most calculated dude ever. There's something that Drake holds over that whole family, like 'y'all don't want me to let this out.'"
Check it above at the 31-minute mark.
Kim ended up hopping on social media in The Shade Room's comments and squashed the rumors writing, "Never happened. End of story." However, Nick could be on to something. We're curious to know why Ye is being so humble.
“Keeping it G I told her don’t wear no 350’s round me.”

Drake allegedly disses Kanye West on an upcoming collaborative single with French Montana, “No Stylist," produced by London On The Track. He raps, "I told her don’t wear no 350s around me." And we all know 350s are Yeezy's sneakers.

Kanye recently cleared his Instagram. No surprise that he's only following his wife. He hasn't posted anything new yet but we're sure he'll be pushing a product soon...

The Game is trying to keep from coughing up that $7 million he owes a victim who claims she was sexually assaulted on his reality show, but the judge isn't having it. Get the latest on his appeal, plus what Joe Budden has to say to Eminem after he dissed him inside...
A judge isn't trying to hear anything else The Game has to say about the $7 million judgement he owes a sexual assault victim. He tried to get it appealed and the judge was like, nah bruh. Pay up!
As we've previously reported, Priscilla Rainey claims she was sexually assaulted by The Game - real name Jaceyon Taylor - during production as a contestant on his VH1 dating show"She's Got Game."She won a $7.1 million lawsuit against the Game and the rapper has been doing everything he can not to pay up.
He sued Viacom for $20 million because he felt THEY should have to pay for choosing her to star on the show, but he lost. Then, Viacom sued him for over $35,000 in attorney fees and that's still pending.
Following that, Game filed a motion for a new trial claiming the judgment was too high and there wasn’t enough evidence to support the multi-million dollar verdict. However, the judge shut that ish down.
The Blast reports:
On August 31, Judge Gary Feinerman came back with his decision on The Game’s motion and shut down the rapper’s attempt to get a new trial.
He rips apart the rapper in his order, saying the jury’s verdict was well-supported by the evidence. He points to numerous witnesses who backed up Rainey’s story.
“Whether the jury’s verdict was against the weight of the evidence is not a close question,” the judge wrote. “Rainey’s testimony alone would have formed a sufficient basis for the verdict. Smith’s testimony regarding Rainey’s demeanor immediately following the incident, coupled with the video showing Taylor’s failure to deny her allegations when she confronted him on the bus, served as unnecessary icing on the cake.”
The judge notes that the millions awarded is not monstrously excessive, stating, “The unauthorized touching of a woman’s vagina and other intimate areas is a reprehensible act, particularly when done in front of a crowd of onlookers.”
Feinerman continued, “The court has already reviewed Taylor’s vile responses to Rainey’s initial effort on the tour bus to discuss the battery (“What you can do is be a woman and shut up”; “Get off this bus before you get your ass strangled”; “I’ll f**king choke your a** up”), and to her filing this lawsuit (“other ‘Tranny Panty’ activity in her past that makes this false claim irrelevant”), which confirm that a punitive damages award is eminently reasonable.”
He also took issue with The Game missing the first day of the court trial, saying the rapper believed he did not have to go because Derrick Rose missed the first day in his sexual assault trial. The judge points out Rose sought approval to miss his first day unlike The Game, who had no permission or professional obligation to attend to.
The judge says the rapper then tried to use a dental emergency to continue the trial, which was contradicted by Snapchat posts he made showing him “smoking (something) in a dark room with flashing pink lights at 2:44 a.m” the day after the alleged dental work.
Finally, he points to various other legal matters The Game has been involved in over the years. He says the rapper has a “consistent history of defaults and failures to appear in court, and even for trial, in several other cases.”
“Failing to appear in court,” the judge wrote, “whether for a trial or hearing, whether in a civil or criminal proceeding, is just something Taylor does.”
The judge denied the motion for a new trial and ordered the verdict and judgment to stand.
In rap beef news...
Folks have been waiting for Joe Budden to respond to Eminem after he called him out on his surprise KAMIKAZE album. Now, he has and he's real gangsta with it.
The retired MC responded to Em on his podcast, letting Em know that he's the better MC and has been for the last decade. Oh?
"I heard the album, and because I don't think you know all the members that were in the group, I don't really think you know our history," Joe said. Then he started referring to himself in third person, saying, "Let me tell you what Joe Budden has thought this entire time. I've been better than you this entire f*cking decade!"
"In my rapper brain, I'm a content n*gga," he continued. "You gotta say something. You have not said anything for the better part of a whole f*cking decade. How could I be mesmerized by someone I thought I was better than? You don’t think it’s odd that you’ve said my name more as adversaries more than when I was there."
Hmm...will Joe come out of retirement? He didn't rule it out. Peep the clips above and below:
