Cardi B is making BIllboard history again, Jeezy is gearing up for his 1st 10K run, and Trina is holding it down for City Girls rapper JT after she went to prison. Everything inside...

It's another twerk celebration for another No 1. on the Billboard charts!

Cardi B is good and pregnant, but that isn't stopping the rapper from celebrating with a quick twerk session for another big feat. The NYC rapper's Spanglish track "I Like It,"featuring Latin stars Bad Bunny and Balvin, jumped to the No. 1 spot on the Billboard Hot 100 List making her the first female rapper to land two No. 1 singles atop the Billboard charts. She copped her first No. 1 with "Bodak Yellow" when it dropped in 2017.

Like all her other accomplishments, she's bigging up her newest feat on social media. And we're not mad. Enjoy this time!

In one clip, she's walking around in what appears to be a hotel bedroom before bending it over on the side of the bed and twerking. Check it:

Rapper Jeezy is taking his health super seriously. And he looks GOODT.

The Atlanta rapper, who turns 41 in September, shredded 60 pounds by recomitting to the gym, cutting out bad foods and falling in love with distance running.

Now, he wants to put his love for running to the test. Today, he'll run alongside Atlanta mayor Keisha Bottoms in the AJC Peachtree Road Race—the largest 10K in the world—to raise money for charities that include the Atlanta Track Club's Kilometer Kids, his own Street Dreamz Foundation, and the city's Youth Scholarship Program, according to GQ.

"Running—sprinting and long-distance running every day," Jeezy told GQ about how he has transformed his body. "I box three times a week, and do some other form of training two times a week. There’s the mental part, too—eating right, and keeping hydrated and rested. This is my first 10K, so I just want to make sure that I’m going into it 100 percent."

He's gearing up for his 1st 10K run and he shared how he got ready for it:

"I talked to some people, but to be honest, I’ve been training for this since the day I decided to get myself in order," he said. "If I hadn't started working six to seven years ago, as far as eating right and getting my body right, I don’t think this is a conversation we'd be having. Even back then, I was training for something like this. I like to put myself in a position where I have to produce."

Rapper Trina is showing her support behind City Girls rapper JT after she turned herself in to serve a prison sentence. The Miami rapper was spotted wearing a "Free JT" t-shirt recently.

According to reports, JT turned herself into authorities for fraudulent credit card charges. The up-and-coming Miami rapper was previously out on bond until deciding to finish out her incarceration sentence.

    Billboard reports:

The artist, born Jatavia Johnson, posted to her Instagram Story on June 30, confirming that she would be going to prison. "Did more than I thought I could imagine in this short period of time out on bond. Now it's time for me to knock this down and come back strong forever. Hold my baby down y'all," she wrote.

JT is currently being held at Miami's Federal Detention Center, according to documents obtained by Billboard. She is slated to be released from prison on March 21, 2020.

Drake also voiced his displeasure with JT's incarceration to Instagram. "Damn free my shorty," he wrote. The group made a splash last week when they appeared on Drake's new album Scorpion. The tandem joined Drizzy on his SIDE B standout "In My Feelings."

We guess folks want to support in anyway they can.

Teyana Taylor hasn't had much luck when it comes to releasing new music, however, she's loving threesomes with her husband Iman Shumpert and isn't afraid to talk about it. Get it all inside...

Teyana Taylor recently released her K.T.S.E. album under the direction of Kanye West. But, it hasn't been smooth sailing for the singer. She was supposed to release an updated version of the album with the rest of the songs that were left off the first release (which happened days later than it was supposed to), but it doesn't look like that's going to happen.

So, here's the solution the 27-year-old singer came up with:

In the meantime, she's working on a new album with Ty Dolla Sign:

Teyana's song "3Way" with Ty Dolla Sign on her new album is getting a lot of buzz. On the track, she sings about having a threesome with her husband Iman Shumpert and how good it makes her feel. She's doing a whole album, but will we ever get to hear it? Because the way folks' releases been set up lately...

     photo shumperts.png

“Ok, look [laughs]. Listen, I ain’t finna sing about nothing that I ain’t been through. Ok? My album just is what it is,” she said in a recent interview on Big Boy's Neighborhood.

Apparently, threesomes are her and Iman's thing. It seems testing new waters in their marriage is more her idea than his. I the "Hit The Floor" actress opened up about trying new things with her husband because with marriage there are no limits.

“I’m not saying it’s what you have to do,” she said about having threesomes. “I’m saying when you make a vow, and when you’re married, it ain’t no limits. Period. It ain’t no, what you gon’ do, what you not gon’ do. Why do we get married? How we gon’ get married and then have limits?”

The wife and mom made it clear that it's not always her husband coming up with new bedroom ideas. She enjoys it just as much if not more.

“I also wanted to create something to where, I feel like, a lot of the times, in society, we make it to where it’s always the guy that wants it,” she said. “It’s always like, it gotta be birthday or Christmas to get that. It gotta be a holiday to get it. But it’s like, listen, I think that my husband is extremely sexy. I love to explore. Call me Dora. I’m Dora the Explorer in my marriage. I’m Curious George.”

While threesomes are something she and her husband are into, that doesn't mean it's for everybody. And she made it clear to never do anything you don't want to in an effort to keep your partner.

“One thing I want to do is be very, very clear. Ladies, and gentlemen, do not force yourself to do anything that you don’t want to do. Because sometimes they do hear a song and feel like, ‘Oooh, should I do this?’ ‘Does this make me a better girlfriend?’ ‘Does this make me a better wife?’ No. Everybody has a choice. Because my poor husband, I be like, ‘Babe, let’s try this!’ He be like, ‘Baaaabe.’ So it’s not always the guy, and it’s not a forceful thing. My husband doesn’t force me to do anything I don’t want to do. Sometimes I be suggesting stuff, he be looking at me like I’ve got five heads. But we also understand marriage. That’s how I feel. If you make a vow, what’s the next step? If we already humpin’ before marriage, then what’s the next step once you’re married and you done said your vows? You plan to be together for the rest of your lives? Baby, we’ve got to keep it spicy.”

    Thoughts?

Lee Daniels, Queen Latifah and their boos hopped on a flight to Italy for some R&R. Peep the pics, plus get the latest in the Lee Daniels vs. Mo'Nique drama inside...

What drama? Lee Daniels isn't letting all the hoopla in the media keep him from enjoying life.

The famed director jetted to Siena, Italy with his partner Jahil Fisher, his homie Queen Latifah and Queen's partner Eboni Nichols. Yep, they're still going strong despite breakup rumors from a few years ago.

     photo SPL5007981_007.jpg

For an adventure, the foursome went to enjoy the historical Italian horse race 'Palio di Siena' and photogs caught pics of them watching the race from a window above the streets.

     photo SPL5007981_019.jpg

During an interview with Raq Rants, Lee addressed his situation with Damon Dash, which has now been squashed, but he also addressed Mo'Nique and the comments she previously made about him, Oprah and Tyler Perry blackballing her from Hollywood.

"Mo'Nique, I fought hard for her to get that job [in Precious] and she was paid her money," Lee shared. "She was paid the money for the budget that we had. For her to badmouth myself, Tyler [Perry] and Oprah, is disrespectful and it's wrong. She's wrong. She's outta pocket. And I respect her actor, because she gave me her soul, but I gave her my soul."

The "Empire" co-creator said the way Mo has been going around spreading "rumors" about them blackballing her made him sad and he said she was totally out of line.

"It breaks my heart that feels like we blackballed her. And for her to continue to talk about Oprah, and myself and Tyler, it's disrespectful. I don't understand her motive," he said.

At this point, he's over Mo and said she needs to shut it!

"It ain't even worth a conversation. Like, she needs to shut up," Lee concluded.

He said if he would have won the Oscar, he would have taken that opportunity and soared.

Check it at the 10-minute mark:

Y'all know Mo'Nique doesn't skip an opportunity to respond when someone speaks her name. While shooting down rumors that Netflix offered her $10 million, she also addressed Lee's comments in his interview:

Social Media has literally taken over our lives in more ways than one. Sorry To Bother You stars Tessa Thompson and LaKeith Stanfield offer up so interesting takes on how the platforms are invading our spaces. We also chopped it up with writer/director Boots Riley. Find out what they exclusively told TheYBF.com inside...

Social media is taking over our lives. This is not up for debate.

It seems our lives have been transformed where we're constantly watching a never-ending show of people sharing literally everything about themselves, from new relationships, breakups, your baby's first words, political jargon, vacation pictures, etc. The list goes on and on and on...and you get the picture.

The new movie Sorry To Bother You is based in the 70s, but many of the same social themes are still quite relevant today: Race relations, corporate greed, classism, making changes to not scare white people at your lucrative job, the plight of working class citizens and more. Shocker? Nope.

Inspired by his time as a telemarketer, writer/director Boots Riley created a film filled with comical satire about a guy named Cassius Green (played by Lakeith Stanfield) who nabs a job at a telemarketing company in Oakland. He got the job to impress his girlfriend Detroit (played by Tessa Thompson) and to pay back his Uncle Sergio (played by Terry Crews).

     photo STBY-lakeithandtessa.png

Stars Tessa Thompson and Lakeith Stanfield sat down to chop it up with TheYBF.com to share what they want people to take away from the film.

"My hope is that people come to the story with an open mind and are able to receive and retain whatever they feel personally," Lakeith told YBF correspondent Unique Chapman . "I can say what I took from Cassius, just reinstating the idea to remain steadfast and tenacious in your pursuit of not only higher and better things for yourself, but also a sense of self and identity in the world. And just be willing to fail so you can grow. So I hope people can see the parallels between those things."

These days, it's hard for people to construct their own ideas and views about certain situations and topics when folks are trying to keep up with the Joneses on social media. Folks are seemingly becoming desensitized. Tessa and Lakeith definitely notice it and have some ish to say:

"In terms of dehumanization, social media is incredible for being able to disseminate information and create community, but I think we also get into a space where we're bombarded with images and we feel disconnected from the fact that they are happening in actual in this click bait culture," Tessa explained to TheYBF.com.

"I think if you show people images enough, human beings become comfortable with things after a while and we adapt," Lakeith shared. "We've always had to adapt but now there's less censorship."

He continued, "But, the internet is also a place where you can be insensitive and that's OK because you're removed from the experience. So you can say and feel and do things that you wouldn't do in real life. So in a sense, it feels like people are becoming less sensitive but I don't think that's the case. People are more sensitive, but now we just have these avenues that we can explore and safely not have to come into contact with these things. So, I say spend less time on the internet everyday and get back on the ground."

Peep our exclusive interview with the actors below:

Lakeith is dropping some truth serum on the masses. Do you agree with his point? Are people more sensitive now? Or, does it seem like they are since we now have different platforms to express our sensitivity?

     photo STBY-bootsriley.png

Also, TheYBF.com spoke with writer/director Boots Riley, who makes his directorial debut in Sorry To Bother You, where he opened up about creatives who don't use their art/platform to show what's really happening in the world. Here's what he said:

"I think that if people were making art that reflected what really happens in the real world there's no way to keep the way the world works out of it," Boots Riley told us.

"So, I don't think that it's only that people have a duty to talk about these things. I think that if you're duty is even to make art that's relevant to the world, that it has to include in these worlds that you're creating rebellion and resistance," he continued.

He said when you're making up an created world, you're still going to end up having some type of reflection of what's going on in society.

"Just in the process of making that world more real, you're going to have to end up having an analysis of the world and it's going to in some way have ideas about social change even if that's not the main storyline," Boots said.

Peep our interview with the cast - including Omari Hardwick and Terry Crews who dished on stereotypes and protests - below:

Sorry To Bother You will be in select theaters July 6th and everywhere else on July 13th.

Baby Curry #3 is here, which means Steph is no longer the only King of the house.  Meet little Canon Curry inside...

Steph & Ayesha Curry just switched to a 2-3 zone defense in their own house.  The couple just welcomed their third child, Canon W. (likely for Steph's real first name, Wardell) Jack Curry!

The couple shared the first super sweet pics of the newborn baby, born on July 2nd.  Ayesha posted him cuddling with his new big sisters Riley & Ryan Curry, and papa Steph posted him with a prayer:

    Awww!

Ayesha's had a rough pregnancy being sick so often, but it seems to have concluded with lots of good news. The Warriors won the NBA championship once again, she announced her new ABC tv show Family Food Fight, her Cooking TV show "Ayesha's Home Kitchen" is now airing on OWN, and the Curry fam faced off against Chris Paul's family on "Family Feud" a couple weeks ago (but was taped months ago, before the Warriors battled the Rockets).

A post shared by Family Feud (@familyfeud) on

It looks like Steph and Ayesha didn't let Houston haters get them down either after the Western Conference Championships. Ayesha's opening up a new "International Smoke" restaurant in H-Town, and folks starting filling Yelp with bad reviews on it before it even opened weeks ago. Salty much? Both she and Steph found humor in it though:

Dang, chick couldn't even adjust her baby belly on her boppy in peace without foolishness. Congrats to the Currys!

C-Murder, rapper and brother of Master P, is currently serving a life sentence behind bars, but it looks like he could possibly be getting out soon. Get all the details about the two key witnesses who have come forward to recant their testimonies inside...

Nearly a decade after rapper Corey "C-Murder" Miller was sentenced to life in prison for a fatal shooting, new evidence has surfaced that could possibly get him out. The new information definitely raises questions about whether C-Murder had anything to do with the murder in the first place.

Not one, but TWO key witnesses have publicly come forward to recant the testimonies they gave during the murder trial for the rapper in 2009. At the time, they both made claims that C-Murder was the man who pulled the trigger that killed 16-year-old Steven Thomas inside a nightclub in 2002.

In separate affidavits, the witnesses - Kenneth Jordan& Darnell Jordan (who are not related) - made claims that detectives in the Jefferson Parish Sheriff's office pressured them into identifying C-Murder as the gunman.

In a handwritten letter sent to the 24th Judicial District Court on Monday, Darnell Jordan explained how detectives tricked him into naming C-Murder as the trigger man.

"I am certain that Corey Miller did not shoot Steve Thomas," 35-year-old Darnell Jordan wrote. “I just want to tell the truth and clear my name.” He was a bouncer at the now-closed Platinum Club where the shooting occurred.

Less than a week earlier, Kenneth also recanted his testimony. In the affidavit, Kenneth gives details how detectives pressured him into naming C-Murder with threats and promises that he'll get to "go home."

“I know that the individual who I saw shoot the gun was not Corey Miller,” 36-year-old Kenneth wrote in a signed affidavit. “I want to right the wrong that I made all those years ago. I can no longer live with knowing that Corey Miller is sitting in jail for something he did not do because of my fabricated statement.”

Kenneth said detectives coerced him into naming C-Murder as the shooter by threatening to charge him for the death of his then-recently deceased newborn child. Before C-Murder's retrial, Kenneth told police the original statement he gave was wrong, however, they still forced him to testify.

    The HuffPost reports:

Kenneth Jordan now says that, despite his sworn testimony, he did not see Miller shoot Thomas. He says Jefferson Parish detectives didn’t question him until a year after the shooting and then threatened him with a decade behind bars for impregnating a 16-year-old girl.

“The JPSO officer approached me and offered me leniency in my criminal case if I agreed to cooperate and give them a statement implicating Corey Miller,” reads Kenneth Jordan’s newly signed affidavit. “I told the JPSO officers that I saw the shooter and the shooter was not Corey Miller. However, the officer pressured me to lie and say it was Corey Miller, all while holding criminal charges over my head.”

He said the officer went so far as to coach him on creating his original account.

“I was distraught and scared,” Kenneth Jordan claims in the affidavit. “JPSO officers told me that if I testified against Corey Miller I could ‘go home’; they told me what to say; they fed me facts about the fight and details about the DJ and the dance party, none of which I really knew.”

C-Murder's attorney Paul Barker is now working to have the jailed rapper's conviction overturned.

“On countless occasions, Mr. Jordan told members of law enforcement and prosecution that his 2003 recorded statement to the JPSO officers was not true, that the person he saw commit the shooting was definitely not Corey Miller, and that he did not want to lie under oath about Corey’s involvement,” Barker wrote in the court filing. “At no time during the 15+ years of proceedings in this tortured case has the state once disclosed this information to Mr. Miller himself, or to Mr. Miller’s attorneys.”

f true, this screams crooked system!

“The entire conviction was based on the testimony of these two witnesses and we now have affidavits recanting both of those testimonies,” Paul Barker told HuffPost. “We can now essentially impeach the state’s entire case. There’s nothing left for them to hang their hat on.”

After C-Murder found out about the first witness (Kenneth) recanting his testimony, he spoke to WDSU from prison sharing his feelings about it.

"I want him to know I’m not upset with him. I’m proud of him. And me and my family, and my daughters. My daughters, we thank him. For real. This is a life-changing moment," he said.

"I'm not gonna lie. These last 16 years have been a definite struggle. I've been snatched away from my family, separated from my kids, from my career, everything. And I just want it back. My heart hasn't smiled since I've been locked up for 16 years, and I just want them to know that my heart is smiling," C-Murder continued.

C-Murder's lawyer has has petitioned the court to vacate the conviction and order a new trial. C-Murder has maintained his innocence throughout the entire process and his family, including Master P and his son Romeo Miller, want him out of jail NOW:

Another key witness in Corey Miller’s case has come forward to recant his testimony Last week, a man named Kenneth Jordan admitted he lied under oath during Corey Miller’s trials, after cops threatened him with arrest. "I remember that they asked me if Corey Miller did the murder. My very first statement to them was Corey Miller didn't do this. They tricked me, I wasn't signing the photo to ID the shooter. I signed it because they told me to. They got me to ID Corey Miller’s picture and sign it," Darnell Jordan continued. Darnell Jordan claims he did not want to testify at Corey Miller’s first trial, so he skipped the state of Louisiana and headed to California. But police caught up with him, shackled him and shipped Jordan back to New Orleans. Darnell Jordan claims he was sequestered in a hotel for a week, when a detective (Donald Clogher) finally came in and forced him to sign a statement with words he maintains he never said. According to Darnell Jordan, he was not able to fully tell his side of the story in court, and claims he saw the gun flash come from the opposite side of the room where Corey Miller was standing, meaning the rap star could not have been the shooter. The bouncer said he also frisked Corey miller, who was free of any contraband, including a gun. During the second trial, the police came to Darnell Jordan's mother-in-law's house with their guns drawn. Darnell Jordan says he was sent to solitary confinement in jail for a few days, and then sent to another hotel room, where he was not allowed to speak to anyone but his wife, as the trial took place. Lawyers for Corey Miller have maintained that each one of his trials has been tainted by shady prosecutors, unreliable witnesses and a juror who admitted she was pressured to find the rap star guilty. #freecoreymiller #innocentman

The witness recants his testimony and says he was pressured into identifying the “famous rapper”. Good or bad, one thing I know about life is that we may not understand everything, but everything happens for a reason and although we all aren’t treated as equal we must keep faith. He reminisced about the most iconic "Fresh Prince of Bel Air" scene when his "deadbeat dad" (played by Bill Vereen) made in appearance. Will revealed he was having trouble with the scene but his co-star, the late James Avery, was able to step in and gave him the encouragement he needed to SLAY that scene.

With 20 years of marriage under his belt, Will and his wife Jada Pinkett Smith have become one of Hollywood's biggest power couples. Over the years, Will and Jada have been able to build a bond so close that they don't even consider themselves "married" anymore. Here's why:

“We don’t even say we’re married anymore," the 49-year-old shared. "We refer to ourselves as life partners, where you get into that space where you realize you are literally with somebody for the rest of your life. There’s no deal breakers. There’s nothing she could do. Ever. Nothing that would break our relationship. She has my support till death and it feels so good to get to that space.”

#BLACKLOVE is so real despite what THEY want you to believe.

We told y'all Will is back in the studio and he shared some insight behind his new track "The Mountaintop," which he believes represents where he is in life right now.

"I’ve been to the top of money, I’ve had all the sex that I’ve ever wanted, I’ve had all of the adoration,” he said. “I’ve been to the top of all those material world mountains and nothing makes you happier other than being useful to others. That’s it. That’s the only thing that ever will satisfy that thing, is that what you’re doing is useful.”

So true. He also shared dropped knowledge on what makes a GREAT emcee:

The Independence Day actor also shared a funny story about Jay Z reacting to that video of him slapping a reporter. While on the carpet, a reporter got WAY to handsy and kissy for Will, reaching in to kiss his face. The Philly native felt disrespected, so his first reaction was to slap the man in the face. It's funny as hell. Check it:

Will said when he got back to his cellphone he had 10 missed urgent messages from Jay Z and he thought something was up because that was out of the ordinary for the rapper. Well, the conversation they had was HILARIOUS and Will shared it with the best Jay Z impersonation EVER. You HAVE to hear it because he totally nails it. Watch below:

    WE. DIE.

Below are a few more highlights you need from the interview:

On Kanye West's public slavery comments and Trump support (sigh):

“That’s what I love about Kanye right now. He’s willing to take the smashdown in order to push ideas,” he said. “He’s making people think, even in the twisted, backhanded success of Donald Trump.”

On his father's death & Trump winning the presidency:

“My father died on Nov. 7 and Trump was elected on Nov. 8. I literally don’t know which one of those was worse for me. That time was a deep changing for me in my life. My father dying sort of released me to be me.”

    On Drake maintaining success:

“Drake I think has had the most interesting success in the last four or five years. It’s so hard to sustain success today. The social media part of it is such a burn that it’s hard to sustain. The fact that Drake has been able to sustain is really interesting to me. It’s why I like working in the Instagram, 60-second format. You get to feed it, but you’re not burning 15, 18 minutes worth of content.”

On why he decided to join social media:

“Social media demands authenticity. Social media pushes you more and more into having you reveal what’s true. ‘Cause if you don’t, TMZ is going to. It’s a beautiful thing. I’m actually enjoying the push. Nobody’s happy that doesn’t get to be themselves. I’m enjoying the social demand for authenticity.”

    On being called "soft":

“That was a difficult time coming up. … It was always difficult [to hear] people say I was soft and my music was cotton candy. I always wanted to fight to prove myself. Fighting yourself to maintain positivity is the hardest fight you ever gon’ have. That struggle to just stay my course, be the person in the world that I wanted to be no matter what people said. I started to call it offensive positivity.”

And here are a few tidbits of wisdom he shared:

“Right and wrong aren’t separate things they’re together. So, something that happens to you is the best and the worst thing that happens to you. You can’t separate them. Like, they go together. Everything has its ying and its yang and you can’t get around it… Rather than specific hard and fast rules and paradigms, now, I’m trying to feel the universe and feel the moments and feel the opportunities for what is right for me at this moment.”

Maybe this was the interview 'Ye was trying to give all along. *shrugs*

Oh, and Will has no clue where his four Grammy Awards are because awards don't excite him. However, he LOVES bringing in numbers at the box office.

Chris Brown landed in handcuffs once agan last night, but he's unbothered about already gearing up to get back on stage tonight.  Deets inside...

Chris Brown was arrested last night as soon as he hopped off stage after his show in West Palm Beach at the Coral Sky Ampitheatre.  Officers were waiting in the cut for him to wrap up his "Heartbreak On A Full Moon" tour stop.  They caught him as soon as he exited the stage, and promptly threw him in an awaiting cop car.

TMZ reports the arrest stems from a warrant that was issued in connection with an alleged attack at a Tampa nightclub in April 2017.  He reportedly attacked a photographer while in the DJ booth who was doing his job and taking pics and video.

Y'all know those Florida cops didn't forget ish though.  Chris apparently was a wanted man again in the city, and had an outstanding felony arrest warrant. He was in jail for 52 minutes and released on $2000 bail.

We're sure you all are wondering what life was like for all the characters in "Power" before we met them, but we'll never get a prequel to see. Why? Find out what "Power" creator Courtney Kemp Agboh told TheYBF.com about a prequel and a fan-driven episode inside...

We're right in the thick of "Power" after Ghost and Tasha buried their daughter Raina after she was gunned down in the mean NYC streets. Deep sigh.....mainly at Tariq.

There's a lot of death in the STARZ series, but that one likely hurt fans the most thus far.

Throughout the seasons, the characters talk A LOT about their past, but we've noticed we've never seen any flashback scenes of them as kids/teens. How did Ghost and Tasha meet? How did Ghost, Tommy and Kanan meet? How ruthless was Ghost back in the day? We've heard about it, but we've never seen it.

And we never will, according to the show's creator Courtney Kemp Agboh.

     photo courtneykemp.png

The reason? Courtney feels like showing teens involved in selling drugs and having sex just isn't something she wants to put across our television screens. And if she did, she feels it would be "detrimental to the culture."

"No. I, Courtney, don't want to make a show about 15-year-olds f*cking and selling drugs," Courtney told YBF correspondent James Terrell."I don't think we need to see that."

    She continued:

"So every time anyone asks me about a prequel, I'm like 'Oh, you didn't think that all the way through. Because what you thought about were Kanan, Ghost and Tommy. But, you have to recast these people. Now they're Ghost and Tommy as 15-year-olds. Now, Kanan is a 19-year-old, that's not 50 Cent, that's some other group of people."

Plastering teens on television selling drugs isn't imagery she wants to put out in the universe. We get it.

"It's these young, black, poor, broke kids selling drugs to other young, black kids. Now we're seeing this 16-year-old Ghost killing. I don't want to do that. I'm not interested in that show. That show makes me very sad. There's a reason I didn't do that. There's a reason we've never seen those flashbacks. I think that's more detrimental to the culture. That is my soul reason."

     photo powerprequel4.png

Outside of not wanting to tell that story, Courtney feels like it's no point really.

"My storytelling reason is they don't die because we already have 'Power,' so how do I set stakes? What's scary? Seriously, what's scary? If you put young Ghost and Tommy with someone with a gun, you know they live. So how do I even tell that story? So, no. If you want more story, that's one thing. That's possible, but it would only go in the forward direction, it wouldn't go back."

    Makes sense!

With the success of the show, fans have become attached to the characters and often times write up their own scripts of what they would like to see happen on their social media accounts. While fans can come up with some good storylines, Courtney said she'll never write an episode to try and please the fan base.

"Nope. Never. You can't," she responded.

"We wrote the show based on what the vision for the show was. I have never deviated from that. I refuse to let fans have input on what we do with the show. We will only kill the show that way. The show isn't about what you want to happen, the show is about what's surprising and the inevitable," she continued.

     photo powerprequel2.png

She said she enjoys shocking fans with crazy twists and turns they haven't already thought of so they can be hungry for next week's episode.

"By the way, the show then would become fan fiction. Fan fiction is what you imagine you want to happen with the characters. You have to let people have that because then they come to the show like 'I hope this happens' and then when it doesn't happen, but it's something else, then they have the reaction that I'm looking for, which is like, 'Oh sh*t! I can't believe what's going to happen the next episode.'"

"For example, if I did an episode of Ghost and Angela got married and lived happily ever after, why are you watching the show after that? The central question of the show has been answered, why are you watching now?"

Very true. But, can she please get Ghost to whoop Tariq's a** real quick? Just one GOOD time!

Look, nobody asked for a remix to "Boo'd Up".  But if Ella Mai's label was going to serve one up anyway, this is the one it should have been.  Get into the fire T-Mix inside...

The official remix to "Boo'd Up" may have gone to Number 1 on iTunes, but that was more than likely due to it being the song of the summer than the two folks who hopped on it.

Twitter basically dragged the official Nicki Minaj & Quavo remix within an inch of its life, and folks pleaded that Chris Brown, T-Pain, ANYBODY would have been better.

T-Pain clearly thought so too.  Because if you're gonna throw some autotune on a track via a member of the Migos, you might as well get the king of it.  And dude delivered.

The ATL artist just released his own remix moments ago.  Check it:

Sorry To Bother You stars Omari Hardwick and Terry Crews open up about how we sometimes have to switch up to land a job, or even survive. Find out what the former football players-turned-actors told The YBF.com inside...

Sorry To Bother You follows an unemployed twenty-something named Cassius Green who gets a job to impress his activist girlfriend Detroit (Tessa Thompson) and to pay his Uncle Sergio (Terry Crews) rent since he and girlfriend are living in his garage.

The Oakland native gets a telemarketing job, but wasn't good at it. His co-worker Langston (Donald Glover) noticed him having trouble connecting with customers, so he encouraged him to "use his white voice."

Have you ever been there?  Having to change up something about yourself in order to excel at job or to even land a job in the first place?

Stars Omari Hardwick and Terry Crews are former football players-turned-actors, on top of being black men. We all know they've maneuvered through different spaces to make it to the next level.

     photo STBY-oamri.png

Omari, who plays super telemarketer Mr. Blank, told us how sometimes folks in the black community have to adjust and bend due to societal norms - blacks "aren't supposed to talk a certain way" or "look a certain way" or even "know certain things." Often times, you can be on either side of the spectrum and still not get ahead: They say get an education, but being a black man with an education will make you "too educated." Basically, we can't win.

Here's how Omari broke it down:

"The reason that Asians are considered the model citizen is because they're need not be because they didn't come to the country to build it from a soiled and toiled stand point," he told YBF correspondent Unique Chapman.

"This country... There need not be the level of aggression out of anger because you don't have any money. So the level of aggression out of anger because you don't have any money is usually painting brown people in America. So it's interesting you have to do certain things to get jobs or get commerce. The divide is about money. If you can figure out how to make money by not being aggressive, or not necessarily being angry, or becoming most imperatively educated, then it dilutes some of that aggression that people see in you."

He continued saying education levels the playing field, but can still bite you in the ass:

"Education is the equalizer," Omari said. "But then sometimes, if you sound too educated and you don't look the right color to be "educated" within our country, people have constructs about what you're supposed to sound like and act like. So the reality is you often times have to switch all types of things to get jobs, just to survive."

    Preach!

Star Terry Crews, who was drafted into the NFL in 1991, opened up about the craziest thing he ever had to do to secure a job. It involves being basically naked during the NFL combine and "feeling like an animal" because of their "inspection".

    See their interview below:

Speaking of real world ish playing out on the big screen...

     photo STBY-bootsriley.png

TheYBF.com also spoke with writer/director Boots Riley, who makes his directorial debut in Sorry To Bother You, where he opened up about creatives who don't use their art/platform to show what's really happening in the world.

Peep our interview with him below:

Stacey Dash and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. niece Alveda King are gearing up to star (and produce) in a secret "pro-life" movie about ROE vs. WADE. But, it may never see the light of day since folks are dropping out like flies. Deets inside...

Stacey Dash was gearing up to star in a new movie with a pro-life spin about the landmark ROE vs. WADE decision. However, ish isn't panning out like it should.

Y'alls fave cooky conservative cookie is set to star in the film as Mildred Jefferson, the first black woman to graduate from Harvard Medical School and a huge activist in the pro-life movement. Y'all know they love to elevate black women ONLY when she fits THEIR narrative.

The film is set after the Supreme Court ruling in 1973 that made privacy in health, which allowed for states to make abortions legal, a constitutional right in the U.S.

Apparently, once cast and crew got the REAL deal about what the film is really about, folks started jumping ship. One month into production, director Nick Loeb tells The Hollywood Reporter that he's having issues making the film because he's losing actors, and filming locations.  Most recently, an on-set electrician told Nick "to go f**k yourself" before she quit after learning what the movie was about.

"When I told her I was, she told me to go fuck myself," Loeb recalls. "Then she threw her headset on the ground and walked off. I found out later she was our electrician."

    Bloop!

There's an actress who reportedly "begged" for the role of Norma McCorvey (Jane Roe), but quit once she realized the movie has a pro-life tilt to the film. Nick Loeb has been secretly shooting the film under a fake title. He has refused to name all of the actors involved and apparently hasn't told the cast and crew the full story about the project's conservative angle. As a result, folks don't want anything to do with it.

"There are lots of surprising cameos from controversial people in the news that I can't tell you about — or more people might walk off the set," quips Loeb.

Of course, Twitter is letting her have it:

Alveda King, niece of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and Trump supporter, argues in the film that the entire ROE v. WADE case was built on a lie. She's an executive producer of the film and she also narrates.

It's interesting to note, the tagline of the movie, which claims abortion is the leading cause of death amongst African-Americans, is a flat out lie.  The USA's CDC confirms, via the latest report taken in 2015, the leading causes of death amongst African-Americans are heart disease, cancer and strokes.

According to the movie's crowdfunding site (with a $2 million goal), it states:

ROE V WADE the movie is the real untold story of how people lied; how the media lied; and how the courts were manipulated to pass a law that has since killed over 60 million Americans. Many documentaries have been made, but no one has had the courage to make an actual feature film, a theatrical movie about the true story.

    THR reports:

The filmmakers say there are some notable investors behind the project, though they won't reveal them. They're negotiating a distribution deal now and are aiming for a January release date, while Republicans are hoping to confirm Justice Kennedy's replacement this fall.

A British nurse will serve several years behind bars after allegedly using "voodoo rituals" to force Nigerian women into being trafficked as sex workers. Get those deets, plus the latest on those rumors that cops were close to arresting a suspect in Tupac's murder case inside...

British nurse Josephine Iyamu has been sent to prison for 14 years after she has been accused of using "voodoo rituals" to force Nigerian women into a sex trafficking organization.

The Liberian-born nurse, also known as Madame Sandra, was convicted on "five counts of arranging or facilitating travel for sexual exploitation and perverting the course of justice." She's the first person to be found guilty under Britain’s Modern Slavery Act.

The "voodoo nurse" would recruit women from Nigeria by promising them a better life in Europe. She would then send them to Germany where she trafficked them as sex workers. And she did it in the most grusome way.

The crazed nurse forced the women to eat chicken hearts, drink blood containing worms, and have powder rubbed into cuts during the rituals/"juju" ceremonies. Ugh!

The ceremonies were a way of psychological control over the women. She was able to envoke fear in the women who were too afraid to challenge her "or to fail to pay her back tens of thousands of euros she charged them to be trafficked into Germany," The Guardian reports.

“Josephine Iyamu exploited five vulnerable women by promising them a better life in Europe. Instead she treated the women like property," Andy Young, from the Crown Prosecution Service, said.

This is INSANE. Glad she was caught and hauled off to prison.

    In other news...

     photo tupacarrest.png

There was a report going around that the police were zeroing in on making an arrest in Tupac's murder case. But now Las Vegas authorities are addressing the rumors and it's NOT true.

The Las Vegas Police Department confirmed Tupac's 1996 murder is still unsolved and remains an open investigation.

A source reached out to 13 Action News and said an arrest was imminent in the murder of Tupac Shakur following comments made in a BET documentary and USA Network series.

In the doc, Duane Keith Davis, a former gang member, said he knew who really killed Pac. He made claims that he was actually in the car when his relative Orlando Anderson shot and killed over 20 years ago.  Two years later, Anderson was killed in 1998. According to reports, Anderson had always denied involvement in the murder.

Davis said he decided to speak out now because he has cancer.

    Interesting....

Before Chris Brown got into trouble (again) in Florida a few days ago, he was partying with his new boo who looks like his ex girl.  Check it inside...

Chris Brown has been hopping around everywhere and still going strong with his newest girlfriend, Ammika Harris.  Yes, she bears a strong resemblance to Chris' ex, Karrueche Tran.  And it doesn't see Chris is even trying to hide that fact.

When you can't have what you really want....

Anywho, two days before he was arrested on a felony warrant in Florida immediately after hopping off stage, he was actually partying at Compound in Atlanta for the July 4th Holiday.  Unbothered AF.  And right by his side was Ammika (above with the shades and below:

Drake stepped in for DJ Khaled after he had to cancel his headlining performance at the 2018 Wireless Festival. Get the deets, plus peep performances by J. Cole, Rick Ross, French Montana, Migos, and more inside...

DJ Khaled was originally scheduled to hit the stage at the 2018 Wireless Festival in London yesterday. He pulled out for "travel issues" and folks originally called B.S. on it all, seeing that he was still parlaying on vacay on Instagram:

Event organizers had to pull a fast one to replace him due to said "travel issues" just hours before his set. Magically, they were able to pull some strings and were able to nab Drake for a performance.

But get this....event organizers had BEEN known Khaled wasn't going to be able to make it. In fact, they knew MONTHS before the scheduled performance:

Why wouldn't they tell fans earlier or try to book someone sooner? Sheesh. This could have ended in concert tragedy, Friar Festival style.

Fresh from the release of his new SCORPION album, Drizzy popped up on stage surprising fans with a medley of his hits. He performed a few new tracks from his new album for the first time, including "8 Out of 10," "Mob Ties," "Nonstop" and "In My Feelings," which has since gone viral.

Drizzy fans have been posting videos for the latest viral dance challenge, #InMyFeelingsChallenge. The Young Money rapper even showed off some of his dance moves during the track's intro. Ha!

Peep a few clips from his performance below:

Oh, y'all thought Logan Browning wasn't returning to "Hit The Floor?" Guess again. See the actress hit the red carpet with her "Hit The Floor" castmates for the show's season 4 premiere inside...

"Hit The Floor" is gearing up to return for season 4, which made a network jump from VH1 to BET after a 27-month hiatus. We know fans are itching to see what the new season will bring.

Here's something fans will be happy to know before the checking out the first episode (if they don't already). Some of you may have been thinking "Hit The Floor" actress Logan Browning was too busy shooting scenes for her Netflix series "Dear White People." But, chick can multi-task.

It wasn't set in stone whether or not Logan would be coming back, but now it's official.

The YBF actress will be returning to "Hit The Floor" to reprise her role as Devil Girl Jelena Howard.

    She's back!

Logan, who celebrated her 29th birthday last month, popped up on the carpet at the "Hit The Floor" Season 4 cast and crew premiere screening in L.A. rocking a black bralette and black belted pencil skirt from Michael Kors Resort 2019 collection. Loving her hair!

Chick hit the carpet alongside her co-star McKinley Freeman and screenwriter James LaRosa.

We wonder when McKinley Freeman and his fiance/Beyonce backup dance Sara Alice Burns are going to tie the knot. He popped the question around this time last year.

"Hit The Floor" newbie Tiffany Hines joined her new castmates to watch the first episode.

Rick Ross' daughter Berkeley Hermes is about to be a big sister because her mother Briana Camille is pregnant. Is Rick Ross about to be a dad again? Possibly. More inside...

    Baby bump alert!

Rick Ross' daughter's mom Briana Camille is pregnant! And their daughter Berkeley Hermes Roberts is about to be a big sister.

Berkeley's mom took to her personal account and Berkeley's to share a few mother-daughter flicks. Baby Berkeley is all smiles as her pregnant mother sits beside her in a baby blue one-piece. It looks like they sitting on the staircase inside Rozay's Georgia mansion.

Here's a picture of Rozay feeding baby Berkeley after she was born sitting on the same steps:

A post shared by Briana Camille (@therealbrianacamille) on

She captioned Berkeley's shot with the "Patty Cake" song.

"Patty cake with mommy @therealbrianacamille," said the caption on Berkeley's account

     photo rossBM1.png

Briana captioned, "For we walk by faith, not by sight #Berkeley&Me @berkeleyhermes"

Hmm...maybe the choice color is a hint at the baby's sex. Also, she must have gotten pregnant rather quickly after having Berkeley as she was born September 2017. She'll be celebrating her first birthday next month.

It's unclear if this is Rozay's baby. He hasn't said anything (yet), and Briana hasn't confirmed if it's the rapper's or not. If it is his baby, it'll be his fourth and their second together.

    Either way, congrats!
