About a week and a half ago, yasiin bey (formerly known as Mos Def) was finally granted permission to leave South Africa after a 10-month detainment. Yasiin and his family ended up violating immigration laws when they decided to stay in South Africa on an expired visa.

But, he’s BACK in the United States. And he’s making his rounds at Art Basel 2016 in Miami.

yasiin, who announced his retirement from the rap game recently, hit up the Public School And The Confidante Present WNL Radio held at The Confidante. He snapped it up alongside Public School designer Dao-Yi Chow and Fonzworth Bentley during the festivities.

Before he retires from the rap game, he’s set to put on a farewell series at the Apollo Theater. It will kick off on Wednesday, December 21st, culminating at The Kennedy Center from Saturday, December 31st through Monday, January 2, 2017. yasiin is also releasing a new album titled  December 99th before he leaves the game for good.

Recently engaged rapper Gucci Mane was also at the Public School event snapping pics with Public School designers Maxwell Osborne and Dao-Yi Chow.

Tyga and his girlfriend Kylie Jenner are on the scene together making their way to E11even Nightclub last night. 

Apparently, there’s beef between the “Racks City” rapper and rapper 21 Savage. The two have been going back and forth with Instagram shots after 21 posted up IG posts of Tyga’s girlfriend Kylie.

In one IG post, 21 posted up a sexy pic of Kylie with the caption, “shoutout to my boss b*tches wifing n*ggas.” Tyga threw shots at 21 mocking the rapper’s gifted Ferrarri from Drake.

Meanwhile, Kylie’s sister Kendall Jenner has reignited romance rumors with ASAP Rocky after the duo was spotted leaving a club together in Miami last night. We hear they also made a stop at CVS together. Mmhmm....

In a weird twist, R&B singer Jeremih just went full savage on his own tour partner Party Next Door while on their Summer's Over tour.  Who does this?  Deets inside...

Jeremih & Party Next Door's Summer's Over tour rolled into Dallas last night, and Jeremih dissed his own tour partner who also happens to be the headliner.

The "Oui" singer took the stage at South Side Ballroom and said "Partynextdoor and his crew some b*tch ass n*ggas....This n*gga been trying to stop me since this tour started. Can't stop me!"

According to concertgoers and the PND tour videographer, pepper spray was involved.  Folks are saying Jeremih claims PND's people pepper sprayed Jeremih fans, and he wasn't having it.  He also tweeted about it:

As more news about what sparked Kanye's nervous breakdown comes to light, rapper J.Cole breaks his silence and has some words for Yeezy.  He doesn't seem to be beefing with Wale though like folks thought. Plus, who knew Bill Murray was a Lupe Fiasco stan?!

When J.Cole announced his upcoming 4 Your Eyez Only album a few days ago, he followed up with a documentary and a couple fresh releases yesterday.  Folks are all abuzz wondering if he fired shots at both Kanye West and Wale.

On "False Prophets (Be Like This)," Cole spits a whole verse about idolizing a rapper and him not turning out to be who he thought he was.  He said the rapper is becoming the person he always said he wasn't, he's bugging out, and it's becoming harder for that guy to look at himself in the mirror.  Cole also fired shots about said rapper having a ghost writer and just spitting rhymes that aren't even real life. Cole said he's just playing his old records knowing that rapper will never top that again.   Kanye anyone?

Most people agree that's who the first verse is about (some even say Drake) but the second verse had folks thinking he was going at Wale. Cole raps about his homie who is anxious to get all the respect legends get but he's always stressing about the haters, and he's too bitter to see his own blessings.

I got a homie he a rapper and he wanna win bad. He want the fame, the acclaim, the respect that's been had by all the legends. So every time I see him he be stressing. talking about niggas don't fuck with him. Shit is depressing. He so bitter he can't see his own blessings. Got damn nigga. Wale seemingly thought it was about him as well.  So he dropped a track called "GroundHog Day" today, which seems to be in response to Cole's track.  He starts off with:

"I'm heavily flawed, but far from a false prophet....I remember me and Cole would open for Hov / Everyday a star is born / I guess I died in the womb."

Further along, he goes right at J. Cole saying,

"I just heard a song about me on a hip hop blog / from a kid I know / some n*ggas say a hip hop God / it hit home, 'cause this some truth."

As for Kanye, he may be home from the hospital but he's nowhere near out of the woods according to reports.   He must stay on track with his medicine dosage as doctors allegedly feel him switiching it up was the cause for his recent breakdown.  He's no longer receiving 24/7 treatment, only outpatient treatment.  TMZ reports:

Our sources say Kanye has long suffered from psychological issues controllable by medication. We're told Kanye is steady on his meds, but deviated from the prescribed dosage ... and that's what led to the downward spiral and eventual mental breakdown.

It's still unclear if Kanye flat-out stopped taking some of the pills or just decided to take different amounts -- but we're told he made the biggest changes in the wake of Kim's Paris robbery. Doctors were able to keep Kanye in the hospital for 8 days, and during that time were able to medicate him, and get him more stable.

But there's some good news, according to Keeping Up With The Kardashians producer Ryan Secrest.  He told the crowd at Jingle Ball in L.A. last night:

“I’ve spoken to Kim. I’ve not spoken to Kanye, but I think that things are going better now."

“There have been some reports that we halted production," he acknowledged. "We did stop for a little bit, briefly, after the Paris incident, but since then we’ve been back in full production,” he said. “We’re shooting season 13.”

Speaking of rappers with a lot of ish to say, Chi-Town native Lupe Fiasco has an unexpected stan. Legendary actor Bill Murray came out to his show, AND demanded an encore:

A day after Tomi-gate on The Daily Show, Tomi Lahren had a peace summit of sorts with host Trevor Noah and Charlamagne Tha God after she backed out on appearing on The Breakfast Club.

After Trevor Noah gave "The Blaze" host Tomi Lahren a taste of her own condescending, conservative medicine on his show, which went viral, the twosome defended each other on social media.  Then, they caught up with each other at the Bowery Hotel.  TMZ posted the two in the  lobby of the swanky NYC hotel the next day:

Hmph.  Apparently Trevor defending her after he took her to task wasn't enough, even though it wasn't needed.  Heaven forbid she gets politely roasted about her un-polite opinions and condescending, ignorant and prejudiced rhetoric.

Tomi backed out of her appearance on The Breakfast Club the following morning, and Charlamagne revealed her network pretty much wanted to stop the bleeding.  To be so vocal and confident on her own show, they surely do treat her like a fragile kitten who can't hold her own when she has to defend her beliefs on someone else's platform.

It seems as though Charlamagne still caught up with her though.  He and his Brilliant Idiots podcast co-host were spotted posing it up with Tomi yesterday:

Weeks after "RHOA" star Phaedra Parks claimed the divorce she filed for was already finalized, her estranged and incarcerated huband Apollo Nida called her bluff.  Did she lie?  Deets inside....

Well, this is odd.  Last month, Phaedra Parks went on Entertainment Tonight and revealed she's officially single.  She said her divorce from Apollo is final and she's ready to move on with her life.

Interestingly, no one could find any documentation to back that up.  Now, Apollo is calling her bluff. 

When he filed for divorce from jail the other day, it took most folks by surprise since Phaedra has already said the divorce was filed for and final.  Not so much, apparently.

TMZ reports:

Apollo filed his divorce petition in Georgia on Thursday ... requesting joint legal custody of their 2 children and an equitable split of their assets. He says they separated in June 2014 after nearly 5 years of marriage.

In the docs, he says they can no longer live together as husband and wife and the union is "irretrievably broken." He doesn't mention the fact he's doing 8 years in a federal pen for financial fraud.

The site says they were unable to find documentation that Phaedra had previously filed. 

So did she lie?

The gala benefit raised $2.4 million as the dance company kicks off its 5-week season in NYC. Proceeds from the evening will go to the creation of new works, scholarships to The Ailey School, and Ailey’s educational programs for children.  Nice!

Former NFL star Joe McKnight was killed outside of New Orleans in Terrytown days ago in a road rage incident. Now, not only has his identified shooter been released, but it's been discovered this is NOT his first road rage incident at that same location. Details inside...

It's been a frustrating and sickening ripple of developments in the case of former Jets player Joe McKnight.

Several witnesses identified Ronald Gasser as the shooter who dragged Joe out of his car at Holmes Boulevard and Behrman Highway in Terrytown and stood over his body shooting bullets into him. Gasser also admitted to the shooting once police arrived. Yet and still, police either don't seem convinced, or simply don't care. Shocker.

Not only that, police now confirm this is not Gasser's first road rage incident.  And he was still released?!  Disgusted, but not surprised.

NBC News reports:

The man who fatally shot former NFL player Joe McKnight outside New Orleans — in an incident that the sheriff said began as a case of "road rage" — was charged in a road rage case a decade ago but the charge was dismissed, authorities said.

Ronald Gasser, 54, shot McKnight three times from the driver's seat of his Infinity in the New Orleans suburb of Terrytown at around 2:43 p.m. Thursday, authorities said. He remained at the scene following the shooting until law enforcement arrived and admitted to the shooting, the sheriff's office said.

In a press conference on Friday, Jefferson Parish Sheriff Newell Normand alluded to Gasser's previous arrest, but he could not recall the details.

The details have now surfaced:

The sheriff's public information office commander, Col. John Fortunato, explained later in an email that Gasser had been arrested 10 years ago — Feb. 20, 2006 — at the same intersection where the shooting occurred.

According to Fortunato, Gasser followed an individual who had attempted to report him for reckless driving into a service station, where he verbally assaulted the individual and then struck him with a closed fist several times.

In a non surprising development, the sheriff "doesn't know" why the charges were dismissed and they will research the situation:

Gasser was issued a misdemeanor summons for simple battery, but the charge was ultimately dismissed, Fortunato said. He didn't know why the charge was dismissed, but said the office would provide more information when they had fully researched the occurrence.

What else will it take for this man to be locked up?!  We're now learning the Stand Your Ground law is coming into play, despite the fact McKnight's car had no weapon found and no witnesses that we know of have accused him of being the agressor. Nola.com states:

At a press conference Friday, Jefferson Parish Sheriff Newell Normand hinted that Louisiana's "stand your ground" self-defense law "looms on the horizon" as a potential factor in the case.

There are also "conflicting reports" that are raising questions.  But Gasser is still painted as a murderer.

Nola.com reports:

Other alleged details about the incident are in sharp dispute. According to The Times-Picayune, an unnamed female witness—whose possible ties to McKnight and Gasser have not been made public—observed McKnight and Gasser exiting their cars and then engaging in a heated argument while standing on the road. The argument may have been connected to an incident between the two men while they were driving their cars minutes earlier. The witness claims that McKnight was attempting to apologize to Gasser when Gasser escalated their debate and shot McKnight multiple times. Further, the witness recalls that after initially shooting McKnight, Gasser walked over to McKnight’s body and declared, “I told you don’t f--- with me,” and then shot McKnight again. Taken together, the unnamed witness portrays Gasser as a murderer who acted with the intent to kill McKnight in broad daylight. The witness recalling what Gasser vocalized suggests that she was standing reasonably close to the shooting.

Universal Pictures’ upcoming animated comedy SING held its L.A. premiere at the Microsoft Theater yesterday and TheYBF.com was on the scene. The world premiere brought out a few of our faves and their adorable sons.

Oscar winner Jennifer Hudson, who voices a character in the film, and her son David Otunga Jr. made their way on the red carpet to snap a few mother-son flicks. The 7-yeard-old stole the show with his too cool for school sunglasses, his trendy bomber jacket and stylish bow tie to finish his look.

Meanwhile, his mom graced the carpet with her beauty in a simple, yet elegant, high slit chiffon dress.

Kelly Rowland, who has a new book about maternity secrets set to drop soon, brought her adorable 2-year-old son Titan Jewell along for the fun. 

The mother-son duo were quite stylish for the premiere. 

As Titan made his way down the carpet, he ran into Lance Gross and Rebecca Jefferson's 2-year-old daughter Berkely Gross. What a ladies man! 

"Window Warriors" host Garcelle Beauvais is a regular on the L.A. scene. The YBF actress brought her sons Jaid and Jax along to peep the new kiddie comedy.

Musical icon Stevie Wonder was front-and-center at the premiere. The Grammy Award winner has a song titled "Faith" featuring Ariana Grande on the film's soundtrack. He also penned the track "Don't You Worry 'Bout A Thing," performed by Tori Kelly, for the soundtrack.

Guess what y’all? “Showtime At The Apollo” is coming back just in time for Christmas. Steve Harvey will return to host and Ashanti and Ja Rule will be hitting the stage to perform. Get the details and peep some behind-the-scenes flicks when you go inside…

Get ready for legendary night at the Apollo Theater.

“Showtime At The Apollo” will be returning to TV with a two-hour special set to premiere on Monday, December 5th at 8pm EST on FOX.

It’s going to be just like old times as Steve Harvey, arguably the hardest working men in showbiz, will return as host after hosting the popular series from 1993 to 2000. The show is a staple in the black community as it has launched careers for some of today’s biggest stars, including Lauryn Hill, Alicia Keys and more.

Former Murda Inc. artists Ashanti and Ja Rule will reunite to perform “Helpless” from “The Hamilton Mixtape.” By the way, the mixtape is No. 1 on iTunes right after it was released on Friday.

The two snapped a few behind-the-scenes flicks together and a few with The Roots' Questlove:

Also in the mix backstage...

Funnyman Mike Epps ran into Ashanti before hitting the stage. The “Survivor’s Remorse” star will hit the stage for a comedy routine. Comedy legends Tracy Morgan and Gabriel Iglesias have also been tapped to perform stand up routines.

We spotted Chris Rock backstage hanging out. We're not sure if he will perform for the TV special, but if he does, you know he'll be bringing the laughs. 

Comedian Chris Spencer made his way around backstage and nabbed a pic with Steve and film producer Reginald Hudlin. Chris probably helped write for the show as he writes for a lot of awards. 

Rappers Doug E. Fresh and Rakim are set to perform during the show to bring back their classic throwback hits.

R&B group Bell Biv DeVoe were backstage before they hit the stage for a performance. En Vogue will also be reuniting to give us life for the epic night.

Jodeci singer K-Ci was also in the mix backstage. It's unclear if he'll be performing, but he obviously couldn't miss out on the legendary evening. 

Along with the professional acts, the special will showcase Apollo’s legendary Amateur Night – the long-running, live talent competition, now in its 82nd year – which provides a platform for up-and-coming artists to perform in front of the toughest audience in the world. This should get interesting.

Fresh from Barbados, RIhanna is back in NYC to shoot new scenes of the upcoming all-female Ocean's 11 reboot, Ocean's 8.

Rih returned to the production set in her faux locs and oversized threads for her role. We’re not exactly sure whom she’ll be playing, but we believe she’s going to be some sort oftech savvy character.

For the new scenes, the “Work” singer had to drown out all the outside noise to channel her character on the subway yesterday. Can you imagine getting on the subway and seeing Rihanna on it?! We would lose it.

On the subway, Rih's co-star Sarah Paulson was spotted playing with Rih's faux locs while shooting. 

Before making her way back to NYC, Rih shared a picture of her trendy bags after boarding her private jet. 

Ocean's 8 isn't set to premiere in theaters until June 2018.

After hitting up the SING premiere with her son Titan, Kelly Rowland got all dressed up for some grown up festivities.

The R&B singer, who’s releasing a new book titled “Whoa Baby” soon, rocked a black on black look with a silver silk kaftan to top it off as she strolled inside Republique Restaurant to celebrate Jay Z’s 47th birthday (which is today) last night.

The gorgeous singer/actress finished her look with a gray fedora and black booties that gave off major boss lady appeal. We haven’t come across any pictures of anyone else at the dinner party (yet), so we wonder who else (other than Beyonce) was on the scene to celebrate Hov’s birthday.

"Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta" star Stevie J is finally claiming his ex-Joseline Hernandez's baby. Since she's been pregnant folks have speculated WHO the father is. Stevie was quick to say the baby could possibly be someone else's when he blasted her in court a few months ago. Remember? He said she's NOT 29 (she's 39) and that she's not from Puerto Rico like she claims. 

Well, they seem to have put all of that behind them...at least for now.

NBA baller Matt Barnes may have choked a chick in the club last night. BUT, he claims it was in self-defense. Get the latest inside…

A fight broke out at Avenue Nightclub in New York around midnight last night and cops were called to the scene. The foolishness involved NBA player Matt Barne 

It’s being reported that NYPD is looking for the Sacramento Kings player for  after he was accused of choking a woman inside the club. Matt was in town for a game against the NY Knicks. 

But, Matt is singing a different tune. He claims he was simply defending himself after a group started to get rowdy in the VIP section over a misunderstanding.

TMZ broke down the chain of events: 

A rep for the NBA star tells us ... Barnes was having a good time at Avenue Nightclub with his teammate, DeMarcus Cousins, when he went to sit at his VIP booth and accidentally "butt bumped" a woman who was at the next booth over.

Barnes claims the woman reacted by slapping him in the face, hard -- and that's when all hell broke loose. Barnes claims the woman's crew -- which included several men -- jumped in and began to get violent. Barnes was knocked to the ground in the melee and one of the men began to choke him.

This guy stays in some mess, doesn't he?

Someone had their phone out and caught the after math. In the clip, you can hear his teammate DeMarcus Cousins talking about jumping into the fight to help after he saw Matt getting joked.

A fan got thrown out of a comedy club after going off on Mike Epps because he allegedly didn’t take a picture with him. The fan claims it was because he’s gay. Now, Mike is speaking out. Find out what he said and check out this bizarre video of Orlando Brown threatening Raven-Symone inside…

Mike Epps got involved with some drama with a fan after his show at the Improv last night.

According to the disgruntled fan (named Norman Freeman), Mike spent part of his comedy set cracking jokes about him being a man dressed as a woman. Norman claims he wasn’t mad about it and even tried to get a picture with Mike after the show. But that’s when ish hit the fan.

After Mike allegedly refused to take the picture, Norman whipped out his phone and started calling him a crack head, said he had a small penis and he called him a homophobe. He got in Mike’s face to call him out on it and security yoked him up and kicked him out of the venue.

“That’s So Raven” alum Orlando Brown seems to be taking him getting replaced for the show’s reboot harder than we initially expected. Once news broke that YouTuber Alonzo Lerone will play Eddie in the reboot, Orlando didn’t seem to pissed about it. He threw a little shade, but it was more toward Alonzo than Raven-Symone.

Now, he’s going in on Raven!

In a Instagram video, Orlando makes a threats of sorts at Raven saying he’s going to come “see her” so they can handle their differences like adults. He remixes the “That’s So Raven” song to become “That so fake b*tch.” Sighs.

Inside, the budding model (who modeled in Yeezy Season 3) chops it up with the magazine about her life, her likes and dislikes, and jumpstarting her modeling career. But there's one thing she DIDN'T talk about...and that would be Justin Bieber. She didn't want any questions asked about her ex.  Oh.

Karrueche took a break from the Art Basel festivities for some fun in the sun (again). Yesterday, she was spotted flossing her bikini bod on the beach in Miami. Must be nice to frolick on the beach in December.

And the photogs caught her snapping a picture for her friend. 

Kae is getting in as much fun as she can in between her acting gigs. She has been filming for the upcoming TNT series "Claws" and she was most recently seen shooting scenes for her web series, "The Bay."
