On the court, #23 ranked Venus came out with a vengeance and definitely made Serena work for this Quarterfinals win.  But 'Rena finally pulled it out (6-2, 1-6, 6-3) and had #BlackGirlJoy written all over her face.

Sisterhood trumps trophies for these two though.  The classy Venus was totally head over heels happy for her sister and left the court quickly after hugs and kisses so Serena could bask in her moment.

Despite Serena being the #1 ranked player going into the Open, remaining in the top spot and deserving mad respect for her powerful game play, Forbes seemed to have thrown some shade Serena's way after she won.  Just minutes after the third set was played and Serena was claiming her victory, Forbes sent out this shady ass Tweet that has #BlackTwitter up in arms.

Maria Sharapova has been beaten 17 CONSECUTIVE times by Serena Williams, yet the Tennis world is determined to keep acting like THIS is the biggest rivalry in women's tennis.  How can it be a rivalry when only one side constantly wins?

Of course, Maria makes $10 million more in endorsements.  While this is a debate that DEFINITELY should be had about why this is the case, the timing of Forbes posting this OLD article from August is shady at best.

In case you missed it, Countess Vaughn (above from May 2014) has a new body three sizes smaller thanks to dieting and liposuction.  Check out the "Hollywood Diva" showing off her weight loss progress and giving details about it all inside...

Countess Vaughn recently revealed her transformation on her weight loss journey.  The "Hollywood Divas" star dished to People.com that she previously underwent liposuction procedure and has also decided to use portion control in her diet.

The former "The Parkers" star spoke candidly on her show "Hollywood Divas" about her past liposuction.  She revealed she still fought to lose weight despite having the procedure.  She attributed most of the difficulty to a thyroid problem.

But not anymore.  Now, she's showing off her new size 10 figure after previously rocking a size 16:

She revealed to PEOPLE magazine:

"I've always been honest about everything.  I wanted to do a mommy makeover. I had done it after my oldest child. I really needed to just treat myself, and I'm happy about it!"

Now, it's all starting to pay off now that she's introduced healthy eating:

"I watch what I eat, and I'm into snacking now.  I used to just eat maybe once or twice [a day] – breakfast and then dinner, maybe skip lunch. But now I try to snack, have some nuts, have some yogurt."

She continued:

"I've been working out and taking care of me so I can have energy for my kids and work .  I put my music on and I just walk for 30 to 45 minutes. I'm very appreciative now that my body is responding to the workouts and the diet, so I just have to keep on moving."

Work!

None of this means she doesn't still have cravings.  She said about wanting just one more piece of fried chicken:

"There are still times that I want it, but I have to watch it," says the former "Moesha" star. "Instead of getting three pieces, I'll have one piece and walk away."

Seattle Seahawks QB Russell Wilson makes it his job to pay a weekly visit to the kids at the Seattle Children's Hospital when he's in town.  This week is no different, other than bringing girlfriend Ciara along.

He shared pics holding a little baby saying:

The couple posed it up with sick and recovering kiddies who just needed a burst of sunlight in their lives.  The Superbowl Champ's been making this visit since he got signed to the team back in 2012, and you can just call it Tuesdays with Russell.

Before they pulled up to Seattle Children's Hospital, Russell, Ciara and a friend snapped a selfie for the 'Gram.. Only then we know it's official.

On the heels of the LeBron James and the University of Akron making college free for inner-city Akron Public School system graduates, Bron Bron is now putting on for the parents.

He recently announced that not only will he be helping kids in James' "I Promise" program nab a guaranteed four-year scholarship, but now parents will be able to get their GED's too.  All on Bron.  It's called the I Promise, Too program.

USA Today explains:

 

The program allows parents to take classes that integrate General Education Development (GED), life skills curriculum, technology, and family literacy activities. Project Learn and the foundation will cover the cost of classes, the GED exam and will provide tablets for participating parents.

Parents of the first class of the program will begin their coursework with the start of the 2015 Fall school year, and will remain on track to earn their GED credentials by the end of 2016.

Flawless idea.  We love how LeBron puts on for his city!

Gilbert Arenas is ready for his ex-Laura Govan to move on and start taking care of herself, and he's willing to get the courts involved.  Get deets on Laura's alleged eviction, the new "Arenas" baby, and see why Gilbert claims he's not a deadbeat dad inside.

We've got new drama between retired NBA player Gilbert Arenas and his four-time baby momma, former "BBW LA" star Laura Govan (shown above in 2013, during happier times).  

SMH....Gilbert and Laura had one of the most tumultuous relationships in NBA/baby momma drama history. Their love story included an alleged eviction or two, fake engagement rings and multiple children. Now.....we're onto a NEW eviction. And this time, Gilbert and his lawyers aren't playing around.

So......after Laura returned from Atlanta for LudaDay Weekend, she was greeted with a letter from Gilbert's attorney giving her 60-days to vacate the mansion he pays for. According to Gilbert's legal documents (check out the original docs at Baller Alert), the home's monthly expenses total $16K and he's been paying for all of them. He's even  paying for an Escalade that Laura drives (that he wants that back too).

Because everything is in Gilbert's name and there was never a court order to specify who gets to live in the homee, Gilbert is well within his rights to ask her to leave. He's even offered to give her first and last month and a security deposit on a new home...if she leaves willingly. Otherwise, they'll evict her.

But before you go taking Laura's side, Gilbert posted a long rant on Instagram that explains why he isn't a deadbeat and how Laura is on easy street.

Check the post below, Gilbert has set up each kid with a $300K college fund, their own bank accounts (and he makes regular deposits) and he continues to give them spending money. So.....what does Laura use her $20K a month child support payments for? Gilbert says it's to stunt on Instagram. #noshade.....

"She gets 20k a month but if u read what I do then ask urself what does she do with 20k ...she has to feed the kids at home, pay for gas to get them to school and pay her phone bill andddddddd that's it....She gets 20k to buy her self clothes for #IG for u f*cks to hit the like button."

R&B/Pop singer Justin Timberlake and late night TV host Jimmy Fallon kicked off “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” with a bang last night, taking us down memory with some classic rap hits.

The guys put on a very entertaining performance for their sixth installment of “History of Rap” and it did NOT disappoint.

For “History of Rap 6,” the guys paid tribute to hip hop legends including N.W.A., Salt-N-Pepa, Wu-Tang Clan, Bone Thugs-n-Harmony and more. They also did renditions of a few new tracks including Drake’s “Know Yourself,” Big Sean's “IDFWU,” Kendrick Lamar’s “B*tch Don’t Kill My Vibe,” Fetty Wap’s “My Way” and more.

Outspoken and controversial performance artist Grace Jones doesn't pull any punches in her new bio, I'll Never Write My Memoirs, where she slams the music industry's current crop of pop stars as "lost" with no vision for their futures.  Check it inside....

On September 29th, the legendary Grace Jones is releasing her memoir I'll Never Write My Memoirs and its a good "read." And by "read" we mean it's the type of memoir where you name names and really let the reader know how you feel. And we're here for it!

Thankfully, Miss Jones' publishers allowed Time Out to publish an except from the tome and we really get a sense of what she thinks about current pop stars, including Rihanna, Beyonce, Nicki Minaj and Lady Gaga (whom she says all copied her). Here are the highlights we've pulled:

On being copied: Trends come along and people say, ‘Follow that trend’. There’s a lot of that around at the moment: ‘Be like Sasha Fierce. Be like Miley Cyrus. Be like Rihanna. Be like Lady Gaga. Be like Rita Ora and Sia. Be like Madonna.’ I cannot be like them – except to the extent that they are already being like me.

I have been so copied by those people who have made fortunes that people assume I am that rich. But I did things for the excitement, the dare, the fact that it was new, not for the money, and too many times I was the first, not the beneficiary.

On Rihanna:Rihanna… she does the body-painting thing I did with Keith Haring, but where he painted directly on my body, she wears a painted bodysuit. That’s the difference. Mine is on skin; she puts a barrier between the paint and her skin. I don’t even know if she knows that what she’s doing comes from me, but I bet you the people styling her know. They know the history.

On turning down a collab with Lady Gaga: Everyone around me is going: ‘You have to do it, it will be so good for you, it will introduce you to a whole new audience, you will make a lot of money’. No! It will be good for her; she will draw from everything I have built and add it to her brand, and I will get nothing back except for a little temporary attention. No one could believe that I said no, but I am okay on my own. I am okay not worrying about a new audience. If the fuck don’t feel right, don’t fuck it.

On "the Nicki Minajes and Mileys" of the pop world with "no long-term vision": ..They forget that once you get into that whirlpool then you have to fight the system that solidifies around you in order to keep being the outsider you claim you represent. There will always be a replacement coming along very soon—a newer version, a crazier version, a louder version. So if you haven’t got a long-term plan, then you are merely a passing phase, the latest trend, yesterday’s event.

They dress up as though they are challenging the status quo, but by now, wearing those clothes, pulling those faces, revealing those tattoos and breasts, singing to those fractured, spastic, melting beats – that is the status quo. You are not off the beaten track, pushing through the thorny undergrowth, finding treasure no one has come across before. You are in the middle of the road.

And with one last read (where she name checks Kanye West) Grace describes herself as a teacher and the others are her pupils. Here's what she'd tell the class.

This is what I would say to my pupil: you have become only your fame, and left behind most of who you were. How are you going to deal with that? Will you lose that person forever? Have you become someone else, without really knowing it? Do you always have to stay in character for people to like you? Do you know that you are in character?

Doris, I would say fame is all well and good if you want to take it to another level. If you have some greater purpose. Me, I am just a singer, on one sort of stage or another, who likes to have an audience, but not all the time. Listen to my advice; I have some experience. In a way, it is me being a teacher, which is what I wanted to be. I still feel I could go into teaching. What is teaching but passing on your knowledge to those who are at the beginning? Some people are born with that gift. With me, the teaching side morphed into the performing side. It’s in there. And these are my pupils – Gaga, Madonna, Annie Lennox, Katy Perry, Rihanna, Miley, Kanye West, FKA Twigs and... Doris.

Diddy can thank his lucky stars because new reports suggest charges will NOT be brought against him for assaulting his son’s UCLA football coach. Get the deets and peep the pics of Rihanna and Travis Scott hanging out for the third night in a row….

Diddy (shown above leaving a doctor’s office in Beverly Hills yesterday) may be cleared of any wrongdoing if things go his way.

New reports suggest that it is unlikely that Sean “P. Diddy” Combs will be brought up on any assault charges after his run-in earlier this year with his son Justin Combs’ UCLA strength and conditioning football coach Sal Alosi.

You’ll recall, Diddy went ballistic on Sal, allegedly attacking the coach with a kettlebell weight after getting upset with the way the coach was treating his son. After the assault, he was cuffed and thrown into campus jail, where he was later released. At the time, it was said the Hip Hop mogul would be brought up on numerous counts of assault, battery and making terrorist threats.

Since the attack, Diddy has publicly proclaimed his innocence issuing a statement that said he was acting out of self defense. And now, we hear he may get off.
 

According to NBC News, an official with the Los Angeles City Attorney's Office revealed the Bad Boy honcho will likely not face any charges in connection with the case, but the ultimate decision will rest with how cooperative Diddy will be.

An informal proceeding is set for October 15th to determine the best course of action where Diddy will have a sitdown with prosecutors to determine whether they will file charges or to look at other alternatives, such as anger management, restitution or community service.

Diddy was seemingly let off the hook once after the L.A. County district attorney decided not to file felony charges against him and sent the case to the L.A. City Attorney's Office. Now, Diddy and his lawyer Mark Geragos have to play their cards right to keep this incident off of his record.
 

Guess we will see how this all unfolds in due time.

Rapper Busta Rhymes, who’s currently dealing with his own assault issues after a dustup at the gym, linked up with Diddy outside of the doctor’s office before heading to their next destination. We can only guess what they were chopping it up about.

It’s being reported after his concert last night, the twosome spent three hours together backstage. Mmhmm...

Sanaa Lathan reveals she was terrified of Michael Ealy while they were filming The Perfect Guy thriller. Find out what she said about his "crazy" and peep her gorgeous cover and spread in Rolling Out magazine inside….

Sanaa Lathan and Michael Ealy stopped by “The View” this morning to chop it up about their thriller The Perfect Guy, which hits theaters tomorrow.

While chatting with the co-hosts, Sanaa revealed she was absolutely terrified of Michael during filming! Now, she did say he’s a very nice guy in real life, but on the set, she didn’t want to be around him. She said he got SO into his character she had to stay away from him in between takes because he scared her. Yikes!

Clearly, the sexy TLAM2 actor has perfected the crazy, psychotic boyfriend role. And he can get "crazy" on us any day. Ha! Michael said it took him a while to get out of the character, but changing his son's stinky diapers at home helped snap him back into reality. Loves it.

The gorgeousness that is Sanaa Lathan is the cover girl for Rolling Out magazine’s newest issue. And she’s pure perfection in every last shot for the spread.

Inside, the Hollywood vet opens up about one day finding love but making sure not to rush into anything, living a normal life when she’s not in the spotlight, the increase of black films and television series taking over the game and more.

Below are the highlights:

On being patient to find the love of her life:

“I just think you’ve got to take your time,” she says. “You can’t go around being paranoid and guarded, but I think that it is important to take your time because time will reveal [the true person]. I really believe that. But I also think women and men, when they like somebody, they tend to overlook the warning signs. People show you who they are right away. It’s about being really realistic with yourself and taking your time and also staying open. It’s important to stay open.”

On living a normal life out of the spotlight:

“My life in between projects is a very normal life,” Lathan explains. “I live a very simple life in between jobs. I have great friends and family that are very down to earth and I’m not really a seeker of fame. I know that [fame] goes with it. And I’m happy to have fans, but it’s really about the work for me. I love acting. I love what I do. I love being on set and on stage. It’s really what I love and I feel very blessed.”

She added,
“The people that you see out everywhere all the time — they’re definitely seeking that,” she says. “It’s not a mistake that you’re seeing them and all of their business. It’s because there’s a part of them that is chasing that.

On more black movies and television series getting their shine:
I think it’s a little bit better. But we still definitely have a long way to go,” she states. “I’m really thrilled to be seeing the box-office success of Black films lately. That’s the only thing the industry takes note of — box office. They’re looking at color: green. The fact that people are showing up is showing them that we have a voice and people are craving more diversity. People are craving seeing themselves. Hollywood should reflect the world that we live in and I’m eager to see that happen.”

Seattle Seahawks QB Russell Wilson is putting that $87.6 million contract to use. The Super Bowl champ just copped a $6.7 million mansion with an incredible lakeside view. And we're sure Ciara is going to love it.

According to reports, the 7-bedroom 7-bathroom home is 10,740 sq. feet of gorgeousness that looks over Lake Washington in Bellevue, WA. You can check out a pic of his new home here.  FYI—He & Bill Gates are now neighbors.

The 26-year-old NFLer's new pad also features its own private waterfront and dock and killer views of downtown Seattle and nearby mountain ranges. And, of course, it comes equipped with some luxury amenities such as a movie theater, five fire places, a wine cellar and more. Nice!

In sports news...

Floyd Mayweather is clapping back at rumors that said he violated boxing rules before he hit the ring to fight in the mega-fight against Manny Pacquiao back in May.

Suspicion of drug use was first reported by SB Nation where they said Floyd was administered an IV drip containing mixtures of saline and Vitamin C to combat dehydration the day before the "fight of the century." While the IV drip isn't against the rules, according to the site, it is against the organization's rules to administer them intravenously, since that can "dilute or mask the presence of another substance."

Pretty Boy Floyd took to his Twitter today to deny those claims, saying he didn’t commit any violations and that he is a clean fighter.

He tweeted:

"I follow and have always followed the rules of Nevada and USADA, the gold standard of drug testing. Let's not forget that I was the one six years ago who insisted on elevating the level of drug testing for all my fights. As a result, there is more drug testing and awareness of its importance in the sport of boxing today than ever before. I am very proud to be a clean athlete and will continue to champion the cause.”

Well there you have it.

According to ESPN, the United States Anti-Doping Agency also disupted Floyd violating any rules saying the boxer applied for and was granted an exemption for the infusion.

The 38-year-old undefeated champ is set to return to the ring this Saturday for a match against Andre Berto. Good luck!

The cast of the STARZ hit series "Power" got together this week for their first table read of Season 3. Check out the St. Patrick family above (Omari Hardwick, Naturi Naughton, Michael Rainey Jr. and Donshea Hopkins).        

Later on, executive producer 50 Cent joined the fold, captioning "POWER season3 will be even better. We are turning it up a notch."

And it looks like Rotimi will be stepping his screen time up as the right-hand man of "Ghost."  The fact that he was at the FIRST table read of the season means producers have big plans for him....and we're happy about that!

In other news.....

We didn't think the casting crew over at "Empire" could top themselves...but they have.  We've got a JUICY casting tidbit that's making the rounds and we're super excited.  Picture.....Taraji P. Henson's "Cookie" character in a room with her baby sister Carol Hardaway (played by Tasha Smith) and their big sister played by Vivica A. Fox.  So far, FOX hasn't revealed the name of Vivica's character.  But we do know a little bit about the plotline....

According to EW, Vivica comes to town searching for her younger sis Cookie for reasons unknown.  Executive Producer Ilene Chaiken teased EW saying, “Cookie’s other family members are troublesome to say the least....”

FYI - Vivica pops up in episode 8. Also, Lee Daniels has mentioned previously that he's interested in an "Empire" spinoff showcasing Cookie’s family when she was younger. Could this be a setup for a new series?

We just can’t get enough of North West and all of her adorableness.

Today, the 2-year-old tot was spotted cooling out in her stroller as her pregnant mom Kim Kardashian West pushed her around NYC. The mother-daughter duo was headed to Soho Gym for an afternoon workout.

Before she headed out with mom, it appears the cutie patootie was busy having fun playing dress up. She was decked out in a purple princess gown and she even had on her kiddie dress-up heels:

So cute! While Nori and Kim made their afternoon rounds, daddy Kanye West is busy hitting up events at New York Fashion Week. He was spotted at the Brother Vellies show earlier today.

Tyga and Blac Chyna’s son King Cairo is making his modeling debut! Little King is modeling some fly shiny kicks from L.A Gear’s Kids Fall/ back-to-School collection. How adorbs is King?

The sneakers feature a metallic gold finish with black soles AND they light up. The 2-year-old tot rocked his kicks with a black t-shirt and a pair of trendy jeans as he posed it up in a courtyard.

And guess what? His pops helped designed the collection, creating kid sneakers that resemble his own Liquid Gold Light Ups design.

K.Michelle and Dorothy Wang are putting it all on the 'Gram.  Find out what they said about Safaree, Joseline Hernandez and French Montana....

Oh really?  K. Michelle is in the middle of filming season 2 of her VH1 reality show "K.Michelle: My Life."  Thursday night on the 'Gram, K. showed off pics and video of herself riding in a slingshot car.  The singer had Nicki Minaj's ex Safaree Samuels teach her how to drive the stick.  Mmmhmmm.

She posted the above pic and below video while explaining that she and SB are just "real friends" and they aren't sexing.

French Montana rolled into Dallas Thursday night on the One Hell of a Nite tour...with his rumored new girlfriend, billionaire heiress Dorothy Wang.  Back in July, we told you the two appeared to be on each other's radars after being caught on a dinner date together.

Fast forward to Thursday night when the "Rich Kids of Beverly Hills" star posted pics at the Gexa Energy Pavilion by the tour buses, talking about how she's now "on a hip hop tour."

Rihanna hosted a Roc Nation Block Party that brought our rumored beau Travis Scott, EJ Johnson, model Joan Smalls and a host of A-listers.  See photos inside...

Tons of A-listers braved the rain last night and headed to midtown for Rihanna's Roc Nation Block Party at The New York EDITION Hotel.  Underneath her "EDITION" umbrella, Rihanna rocked a white gothic chic dress and black trousers.

Lookie Lookie Lookie....wherever there's Rihanna...there's also rapper Travis Scott!  Travis, who has been doing a series of shows in NYC, also stopped by Rihanna's party where he performed 4 songs.  And if you look closely, we think he brought the "smoke."  We've been spotting these two together at dinners, parties and shows all week.

Even Rihanna's grandfather was up in the mix! 

We also spotted model Gigi Hadid (the girlfriend of Joe Jonas) alongside The Weekend.

FYI - The Weeknd is dating Gigi's sister Bella Hadid.

NYFW Spring 2016 is poppin’ with runway shows galore around the city. And the YBF celebs are on the scene soaking up all of the latest fashions to possibly add to their wardrobe collection.

We spotted “black•ish” star Tracee Ellis Ross on the scene. The 42-year-old actress is a Fashion Week regular and every time she pops up on the scene, she always looking amazing. After hitting up the Rachel Comey’s show, the YBF chick made her way to the Harlem's Fashion Row (HFR) runway show to check out the latest designs.

And it appears T-Murda came out to play. Ha! A new season of “black•ish” returns Wednesday, September 23rd at 9:30/8:30c on ABC.

Soul songstress Mary J. Blige was front row ready rocking all black and gold with added sheer for a bit of sexiness.

The gorgeous Justine Skye was also in attendance with an interesting look. Chick served in an asymmetric Narcisco Rodriguez top, paired with Vatanika shorts and Saint Laurent heels. We’re feelin’ it.

Where in the world is Beyonce Knowles Carter?  The Queen Bey and her family are in Capri, where we spotted them boarding a small boat.  Bey, wearing a zebra-print playsuit, brought along the closet people in her life for the trip.

She, hubby Jay Z and little Blue Ivy were joined by her cousin Angie Beyince as well as singer/actress Kelly Rowland, her husband Tim and their son Titan.

The Carters landed in Italy a few days ago, following a trip to Tarrytown, NY to watch mogul Steve Stoute get married.

The group boarded the small boat in order to reach another area of the island where they grabbed lunch.

Ciara appeared on "The View" today where she remembered the 9/11 attacks and dished on her new life in Seattle.  See pics inside and watch Bobby Brown on the Season 2 promo of "The Real."

Earlier today, singer and fashion doyenne Ciara (above, outside ABC studios) appeared on "The View" where she performed Michael Jackson's"Heal The World" in honor of the 14th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks.

During the interview segment, where she chatted with the hostesses, Ciara opened up about his life with boyfriend Russell Wilson and we noticed that she actually referred to the city of Seattle as her home. Wow.....it's really serious between those two.  You'll recall that Russell recently purchased a $6.7 milli mansion that looks over Lake Washington in Bellevue, WA.  We'd call it "home" too!

Cici also revealed that she does know how to cook a little something something and Russell loves her Mac & Cheese!  Lastly, she  said being celebate allows she and Russell to focus on their friendship...
