In very upsetting news, Serena Williams has been eliminated from the U.S. Open after falling short in her match today. But, she’s still the champ in our eyes. Get the latest deets inside…

Talk about an upset! Serena Williams was on a mission for a calendar grand slam, just two games away. Unfortunately, it was cut short today. TRAGIC.

The 21-time Grand Slam winner hit the court to battle it out against Italian player Roberta Vinci during the semi-finals at the 2015 U.S. Open. After struggling through the match (we’ll admit, it wasn’t her BEST game), the No. 1 ranked women's player was eliminated from the tournament 2-6, 6-4, 6-4 final score.
 

The 33-year-old tennis star was in pursuit of the calendar year Grand Slam after dominating at Wimbledon, the French Open and the Australian Open this year. Had she won the U.S. Open, she would have been the first player since Steffi Graf in 1988 to complete the calendar year grand slam.

Of course it hurt and is a major lost, but Rena kept it classy and cool congratulating her opponent on her win.

At the beginning of her post-game interview, she warned the media she was not interested in talking about how disappointing it is for her to lose. When asked about her opponent’s performance she said,“I think she played literally out of her mind. I thought she played the best tennis in her career."

While she admits Vinci played well, she doesn’t feel like her performance was that bad. She explained,

“I don’t think I played that bad. I made more unfortunate errors I would normally make but I think she just played really well. I don’t feel pressure. I never felt pressure," Williams said. "I don't know. I never felt that pressure to win here. I said that from the beginning."

Over on the internet, folks are blaming Drizzy for her lost today! Like DRAGGING him through these Internet streets. They say since he didn't show up to any of her U.S. Open games, but was in attendance today, he was her bad luck charm.

Hmm...did they not realize he was in the stands numerous times at her other games...and she won? We guess.

Chris Brown walked out of a Houston, Texas courtroom with a victory under his belt after a judge awarded him joint custody of his daughter Royalty.  Get deets on the case inside...

After a bumpy year, which included an armed robbery and a nasty fight with ex-Karrueche Tran, Chris Brown actually has a "victory" he can celebrate and be proud off. 

Down in Texas, Chris headed to court with his lawyer Mark Geragos (above), for his on-going custody battle with Nia Guzman, the mother of his daughter Royalty. And we can happily report that a judge granted Chris a huge win, awarding him joint custody of Royalty.

While it's a win for Chris, it was a complete blow to Nia and her legal team who first tried to move the case to LA (likely so she could request more child support), and who also wanted to restrict Chris to supervised visits. But a judge said no no.....

Chris and Nia will share 50/50 physical custody, with Royalty going back and fourth every 4 days and that shouldn't be a big deal now that Nia lives in L.A. too.  Now....here's the other question.  Nia is currently getting $2,500 in child support.....will she get an upgrade? Nope.  According to the LA Times, her support will stay the same.  Bummer....we're sure she wants to stunt on Instagram like Laura Govan #noshade.

J. Cole's 2014 Forest Hills Drive originally dropped in n December of 2014 after debuting at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart, becoming his third consecutive No. 1 disc. But it's his first to go platinum: Born Sinner (released in 2013) has sold 747,000, Cole World: The Sideline Story (released in 2011) has sold 772,000.

Lady O is serving up three separate covers that pay tribute to the fabulous 50s, the sweetly 60s and the shagadelic 70s.

For her 50s cover, Oprah served up a chic look channelingAudrey Hepburn with her her dramatic upswept hair, a poppin’ red lippie and red nails to match. She finished her look with a heavy cat eye that was very popular during the decade (and has since come back into today’s trends).

Rolling right into the 60s, Lady O served up a very mod and sophisticated look in a tan trench coat over her very 70s yellow dress. Her hair was inspired by Catherine Deneuve's iconic look in 1967's Belle de Jour.

As for those perky pink lips? Oprah says she would have never tried a pink lippie if it wasn’t for a cover shoot. Hey, there's a first time for everything. She said, "I'm stepping out of my comfort zone with this shade! It's called Pink Sugar."
 

And last but not least....
 

The media mogul brings the 70s fab in a carefree hippie ensemble rocking a colorful tunic, a pair of denim bell bottoms and platform sandals . She finished her look with long, luscious curls and big soft lashes. This would have to be our fave cover of the three. Werk!

In music news...

R&B songstress K. Michelle has revealed the name of her upcoming third studio album. And it seems to fit the wave she's been riding lately. You'll recall those bootylicious pics with "LAHH ATL" star Joseline Hernandez on a boat while filming for the new season of her reality show. She has also been hanging out with Nicki Minaj's ex-boyfriend Safaree Samuels, sparking relationship rumors again. But, she claims they're just friends.

Back to the music....

She's naming her new LP Wild & Free which she announced on Instagram with the photo above. No word on the official release date right now, but she said she plans to reveal it soon.

We’ve had our eyes on the twosome for the past week. RiRi has made it her business to attend three shows in a row where the Houston rapper performed at the Gramercy Theatre. The receipts are HERE,HERE and HERE. Not only that, the "BBHMM" singer was also in attendance at Travis' birthday celebration in L.A. earlier this year.

After each show Rih and Travis would party it up a various NYC nightclubs. While it all seemed like a budding friendship at first, it has quickly turned into a budding romance. And we're not exactly sure what to think of it all.  So much for Formula 1 racecar driver Lewis Hamilton.

If the rumors are true, we can expect to see more coupledom flicks of these two in the near future. And we wonder if they plan on hopping in the studio together for Rihanna's ever delayed R8 disc.

It’s a NYFW face-off between Lil Wayne’s current girlfriend and his ex-wife. Christina Milian and Toya Wright were spotted rocking the same BCBG skirt as they made their rounds at New York Fashion Week. Decide who rocked it best inside….

It appears not only does Christina Milian and Toya Wright have the same taste in men, but they also share the same taste in fashion.

Reality star/singer Christina Milian (who we believe is still dating Lil Wayne) hit up the BCBGMAXAZRIA runway show recently rocking a BCBGMAXAZRIA taura faux-leather mesh skirt. The “We Ain’t Worried” singer styled the pleated skirt with a sleeveless faux leather BCBG crop top with cut-out detailing in the back and a pair of black buckle sandals.

Meanwhile....

Former reality star Toya Wright, Lil Wayne’s ex-wife, rocked a very similar look to show off the edgy skirt as she pounded the pavement in NYC for NYFW. She paired her pleated panel skirt with a faux leather long sleeved shirt that she rolled up to make ¾ sleeves. She finished her look with a YSL clutch and dainty strap sandals.

Who knew Sanaa Lathan could sing? The YBF chick just released her very first single titled “Emotional” ft. Dej Loaf, a cutfor The Perfect Guy soundtrack. Take a listen and get the deets on a Whitney Houston hologram going on tour inside...

With a brand new thriller hitting theaters, Sanaa Lathan also has a new single under belt. But who knew the Hollywood vet had vocals? We sure didn’t. But, we’re not mad that she’s dabbling in the music industry.

The 43-year-old actress called up superproducer Detail to produce her new single “Emotional,” featuring raptress Dej Loaf. Detail’s credit’s include Beyonce’s Grammy winning single “Drunk In Love,” and “7/11.” He has also produced tracks for Lil Wayne, Drake and Wiz Khalifa to name a few. We hear the two met through their mutual friend French Montana (whom Sanaa has been romantically linked to in the past).

So how did “Emotional” come about? Detail tells Yahoo,

“I was looking at the trailer and I said, ‘Wow. That’s an emotional n*gga. Everybody started laughing and Sanaa said, ‘Exactly.’”

Detail suggested that they turn the concept into a song, and viola!

“Emotional” will be featured on The Perfect Guy soundtrack.

The newly released thriller is doing well at the box office after it’s debut yesterday. According to Deadline, the film raked in between $10.4M to $10.7M last night making it No. 1 at the box office. YAS!

It’s being predicted the film will haul a strong $26M to $28M+ for it’s opening weekend, following in the footsteps of No Good Deed (starring Taraji P. Henson& Idris Elba), which brought in an impressive $24.3 million around this time last year.

Who says black films can’t be great at the box office?

A hologram of the late iconic singer Whitney Houston is set to kick off a tour next year. You read it right. And Whitney’s estate (aka Pat Houston) is on board as well.

According to reports, Hologram USA and Houston's estate announced Friday that the hologram will stream live on FilmOn.com. Not only that, the hologram is set to premiere at a U.S. venue and tour the world. The show will feature the legendary singer’s greatest hits with interactive components. And we hear special guests (which have not been named) will make cameos.

Pat Houston, who serves as president of Whitney’s estate, issued a statement expressing her excitement over the new endeavor. She said,

"It's a great opportunity for her fans to see a reinvention of one the most celebrated female artists in history and to continue a legacy of performances that will not be forgotten in years to come."

So when we expect to see Whitney return to the stage…in hologram form? It’s scheduled to kick-off sometime in 2016.

Nicki Minaj's kitty couture surely turned heads as she rolled up on the scene at the Givenchy runway show during New York Fashion Week at Pier 26 at Hudson River Park yesterday.

The “Anaconda” raptress left her boyfriend Meek Mill behind while she styled and profiled in a heavily printed leopard dress, courtesy of Givenchy. She kept her make-up and accessories simple, as well as her hair, which was pulled back into a low bun.

While he made his NYFW rounds solo earlier in the day, Kanye West brought his pregnant wife Kim Kardashian West along as his date for the show last night.

Of course, Kim was doing the absolute most (likely due to Kanye's fashion direction) to show off her growing belly. The Wests are expecting a baby boy who they plan on naming Easton due in December.

Ciara never disappoints when it comes to slaying looks for NYFW. And last night was no different.

After hitting up the Ralph Lauren show earlier in the day, CiCi slipped into an all black everything Givenchy ensemble paired with some sexy leather thigh-high boots for added sex appeal. 

She too, went with minimal accessories and a subdued face beat. We’re loving the long bob on her too.

Soul singer Erkyah Badu, who has fronted a few Givenchy campaigns, was also in the mix rocking all black with touches of earth tone colors. LOVE, love, love her large and in charge afro.

Upcoming Broadway star Jennifer Hudson, who is a NYC resident now, stepped out from rehearsals to check out Riccardo Tisci’s latest designs. She also rocked an all black Givenchy ensemble.

Celebrity stylist June Ambrose clearly makes her own fashion rules rocking white pants after Labor Day. But, it works for her.

NFLer and NYFW regular Victor Cruz and his fiancée Elaina Watley brought the coupledom fab.

OKC Thunder baller and fashion lover Russell Westbrook, who recently wed Nina Earl, never misses a chance to show off his fashion flair.

Further dispelling break up rumors, “Empire” star Terrence Howard and his wife Mira Pak were spotted heading inside their hotel yesterday. The Hollywood vet is in town for the season 2 premiere of "Empire" tonight.

You’ll recall, there was talk that Terrence and Mira (who welcomed a baby boy in May) had called it quits. Terrence took to social media a few weeks ago to squash those rumors and it appears they’re still going strong. Well good for them.

After attending the Givenchy SS16 show, NFL star Victor Cruz and his fiancée Elaina Watley stepped out for dinner. They look nice.

Over on the west coast....

Rapper Tyga and his girlfriend Kylie Jenner were spotted on a lunch run.

The twosome hit up Yang Chow in Woodland Hills to feast on Mandarin and Szechuan Chinese cuisine. Yum.

We wonder if the two were riding out to T-Raww's new single "Stimulated," you know, that song he talks about banging a young chick.

Festivalgoers in Atlanta were treated with lively performances from Lauryn Hill, Janelle Monae, Jidenna, Wale and more for the 2015 ONE Musicfest. More inside….

The 2015 ONE Musicfest came through with some incredible entertainment as we wrap up the festival season. Yesterday, the Aarons Amphitheatre at Lakewood was rocking with performances. And Lauryn Hill was on the bill for an epic night.

L. Boogie serenaded the audience with her vocals, making the night that much sweeter.

Gracey Gealey and Ta'Rhonda Jones of "Empire" are, in Instagram speak, Everything #GOALS.  After this weekend's Season 2 premiere party, we've got girl crushes and more.  Peep what we discovered inside...

Aside from these two being quite fabulous, Grace Gealey and Ta'Rhonda Jones are both making a name for themselves in Hollywood thanks to being breakout stars of "Empire."  Anika/Boo Boo Kitty and Porsha play their manipulative career-climber and "ghetto assistant" (Lee Daniels' description) roles to perfection...but both characters are polar opposites from who these ladies are in real life.

We caught up with Grace and Ta'Rhonda at the huge "Empire" second season premiere at Carnegie Hall this past weekend as the ladies chatted with us in front of the new Lincoln MKX, the exact car that will appear in an episode of the upcoming season. Before we could even ask Grace about the fabulousness that was her canary yellow Haney gown, we were blinded by that FAT engagement ring of hers.  She's on the hottest show as her first major gig after earning a Masters degree, has one of the hottest men on TV, and she's got a super hot ring...no wonder we have a girl crush.

While Grace remained mum about her new fiance (co-star Trai Byers) on the gold carpet, she wasn't shy about having love written all over her face.  The Caymanian actress brought the sweetness and had some fun with her co-star making faces and serving up major leg. (Check the video below)

At the after party:

Grace and Trai couldn't keep their hands off each other.  And we don't blame them.

As for Ta'Rhonda, she definitely gave us a shock on the golden carpet when she revealed to us that she was the designer of the sexy white gown she was wearing.  Yep, chick is a budding fashion designer on the side. 

And apparently, she's an actress on the side too as her first love is rapping.  T chatted up the audience after the screening of the first episode of season 2 telling us that she thought she was auditioning for a record deal.  A Hustle & Flow Records deal to be exact.  Ha!

Ta'Rhonda said she answered the casting call thinking it was an audition for a record deal....and was wondering where Terrence Howard was the entire time.  By the way, she almost didn't take the gig!  The Chicago native opened up on stage saying, "I was in a really hard place in my life.  I was working as an assistant in a nursing home.  I had gotten an offer for another job.  And then I got the offer to play this role on 'Empire.'  But I had never acted before."

She said the only reason she took the gig is because of a sign from God.  She revealed, "I told God I didn't know what to do and to show me a sign.  My brother was killed not too long before this and I had kept his watch.  The watch started going off nonstop a few minutes after I asked for a sign."

She decided to take a leap, and the rest is history.

Last night, Miss America 1984 Vanessa Williams made a triumphant return to the pageant after 32 years, receiving a live on-air apology from pageant officials over how they handled her nude photos scandal.  Watch both the apology and Vanessa's performance inside.

Sunday evening, Miss America 1984 Vanessa Williams returned to the organization where she received a standing ovation from the thousands gathered at Boardwalk Hall Arena in Atlantic City, New Jersey.

It was Vanessa's first time participating in the pageant in 32 years after she forfeited the title following Penthouse magazine publishing nude photos of her that were shot in 1982.

As we all know, Vanessa went on to become the most successful Miss America of all time, as a recording artist and actress, and last night was vindication.  As thousands cheered, she sang Amy Grant’s “Oh How the Years Go By” in front of giant screens projecting headlines about her scandal like “Miss America Gives Up Crown,” and “I’ve Hit Rock Bottom”. The audience ate it up!

Then Miss America CEO Sam Haskell, a personal friend, addressed the controversy onstage with an official apology. He said:

I have been a close friend to this beautiful and talented lady for 32 years. You have lived your life in grace and dignity and never was it more evident than during the events of 1984 when you resigned. Though none of us currently in the organization were involved then, on behalf of today’s organization, I want to apologize to you and to your mother, Miss Helen Williams. I want to apologize for anything that was said or done that made you feel any less than the Miss America you are and the Miss America you always will be.

Vanessa, a class act, replied that Sam's words were “so unexpected, but so beautiful.” However, we happened to know the apology was VERY planned and expected....but Vanessa handled it like a pro.

She told the audience, “I did the best that I could as my reign as Miss America, 1983 to 1984. On behalf of my family, my mother in particular, Brian Edwards, who orchestrated this entire thing to bring me back, and your leadership, your integrity, and you bringing this pageant back to what it ought to be. I love you, I love the girls, and I’m so honored to be back.”

In addition to her performace, Vanessa served as a judge alongside actress Zendaya and Kevin O'Leary, Amy Purdy, Danica McKellar, Taya Kyle, and Brett Eldredge.

Rihanna's latest collaboration with PUMA launches this week and we've got a look at her first ad starring her new man Travis Scott.  See both the ad and a new PUMA commercial inside....

Rihanna definitely knows how to sell a few garments and accessories.  In addition to her duties as the face of Dior, a few months ago we told you that RiRi had signed up to become both PUMA's Women's Creative Director, and a global brand ambassador for women's training. Now, the line "PUMA by Rihanna" is heading into retail outlets we've got a look at the latest ad....and it features her new boo Travis Scott.

If you've been following us closely, you know that Rihanna and Travis have been quietly rolling out their "relationship" with an appearance here, a kiss there, some twerking too......and now we know they've been working together professionally as well.

In the ad above, Rihanna shows of her new PUMA Suede Creepers. The shoe is available in black with a white Puma stripe and black sole, plus all-black and all-tan editions. They're priced at $120.

The gorgeous Gabrielle Union is still in the city bringing her fabulousness to NYFW events. And yesterday, the “Being Mary Jane” star trekked to Brooklyn for the 2015 ESSENCE Street Style Awards Block Party held at The Dumbo Archway.

Gabby hardly ever disappoints when it comes to rocking the latest fashions, so it was only right she be honored with a Street Style Award.

Chick turned heads in an all black Marchesa ensemble topping her look off with a bold and beautiful textured bob. Gorge.

Former Spice Girl Mel B was also on the scene looking amazing.

ESSENCE Entertainment Director Cori Murray and recording artist Andra Day looked beautiful in their printed looks.

Gabby did a quick wardrobe change and linked up with her Miami Heat baller husband Dwayne Wade to check out the latest designs from Prabal Gurung Spring 2016 collection held at The Shows at The Arc inside Skylight at Moynihan Station.

Upcoming Broadway star Jennifer Hudson (who turned 34 few days ago) went the opposite route and opted to wear all black. She will hit the stage to star in “The Color Purple” once it kicks off in December.

After performing at the U.S. Open, Ciara returned to the NYFW scene modeling a fab look at the Public School Spring 2016 runway show to check the high-end designers latest designs.

CiCi snapped up with Public School co-founders Dao-Yi Chow& Maxwell Osborne, singer-songwriter Justine Skye, model Hailey Baldwin, NBA star and newlywed Russell Westbrook, and beauty pageant queen Olivia Culpo.

Justine (aka The Purple Unicorn) kept it sexy in an all black ensemble which showed off a touch of skin for some added sexiness.

Chi-town rapper Common returned to the NYFW scene where he was front and center with Formula 1 racecar driver Lewis Hamilton.

Famed director and artist Vashtie Kola and fashionista Angela Simmons showed off some fashion forward looks. Looking good ladies.

L.A. Clippers baller Blake Griffin came out to chop it up with his NBA buddy Russell and model Hailey Baldwin.

And the "caped" Andre Leon Talley was spotted taking his seat.

At 25 Wall Street….

Singer Tinashe, who is readying her sophomore album, took a break from the studio to attend the Opening Ceremony Spring 2016 fashion show.

The R&B singer was in good company on the front row alongside "OITNB" star Natasha Lyonne, R&B singer Miguel, racecar driver Lewis Hamilton and rapper Tyga.

Of course, his girlfriend Kylie wasn't far away. And it looks like she isn't hiding the diamond ring on THAT finger any more. Hmph.

Laverne is making her rounds on the NYFW scene snapping it up with her co-star Natalie. She rocked a gold and black Opening Ceremony dress that she paired with black knee-boots.

Vashtie also changed up her look before attending the runway show.

Last night, the stars of "Empire" took over Bravo's clubhouse on "WWHL" with Andy Cohen.  Check out Yazz and Ta'Rhonda inside... 

As we wait for the season 2 of "Empire" to begin on September 23rd, the stars are on the scene promoting their hearts out.  In addition to a huge red carpet premiere event recently, we spotted stars Bryshere “Yazz” Gray And Ta'Rhonda Jones sipping cocktails in the club house with Andy Cohen last night. While Yazz was the featured celeb guest, alongside actress Mindy Kaling, Ta'Rhonda showed off her bartending skills.

By the way, Ta'Rhonda designed her outfit for the recent "Empire" premiere party, and that makes us wonder if she had a hand in making this one as well.  She loves wearing white....

During the show, we learned a few tidbits about Yazz.  If you want to know what turns him on about women, he says he's most interested in intelligent chicks.

He's also rooting for his character Hakeem Lyon to take over the "Empire" next year....but he didn't spill any tidbits.

Kelis and her growing baby bump, Ashanti and Chris Brown with his baby girl Royalty hit the stage over the weekend. Check out their performances inside….

Oh baby!

A very pregnant Kelis isn’t letting her baby bump get in the way of her cash flow. The 36-year-old singer hit the stage at the On Blackheath Festival in London yesterday. And her baby bump was front-and-center as she serenaded fans with her vocals. 
 

The “Milkshake” hitmaker had her growing belly on display in a long black shirt with slits on each side that gave festivalgoers a glimpse at her pregnancy belly. The orange haired beauty rocked the stage as she performed a few of her hits, old and new. You KNOW "Milkshake" was in the line-up of tracks.

The soon-to-be mother of two (she shares her six-year-old son Knight with ex-husband Nas) is pregnant with her 2nd child. You’ll recall she confirmed she’s with child during her performance at AfroPunk Festival last month.

The cookbook author (who's dropping her stash of recipes soon) still has not confirmed who the father is, but we believe it may be the mystery guy she was linked to last year who goes by the name Michael Mora. We say this because dude refers to the NYC songstress as his wife on his Instagram account.

On Instagram, Kelis reflected on her "bouty and full" day captioning, "What a day what a day , #onblackheath festival was a blast I cooked , I sang, I conquered ! Thank you very much! Lol wepa! Xoxo @bountyandfull it's a lifestyle"

Across the pond....

Over the weekend, Compton native Ice Cube trekked to Long Beach to put a show with a few of his celeb friends at Queen Mary. R&B singer Ashanti was tapped to perform a few of her hits including, “Rain On Me,” “Rock With U,” Foolish” and more. Cube also also hit the stage to perform "Today Was A Good Day," "Bop Gun," "Steady Mobin," "We Be Clubbin" and more.

Backstage, Ashanti snapped it up with the rap legend and his son O’Shea Jackson Jr., who stars in the hit N.W.A. biopic, Straight Outta Compton. Back up Shanti! Jokes.

But wait...there's more...

While Cube was performing, a fight amongst concertgoers broke out, causing the rapper/actor to cut his set short and exit stage left. He was about five songs in before fans started throwing punches so he pulled the plug. Check it above.

After bringing home a victory in his child support case (winning joint custody), Chris Brown surprised his fans with a special guest. Breezy brought out his adorable daughter Royalty on stage sending fans in a frenzy.

Breezy’s “One Hell of A Nite” tout rolled through Albuquerque, N.M. on Saturday where he brought out his baby girl on the Isleta Amphitheater stage. Breezy held on tonight to the tiny tot as he sung his hit single “Show Me” before a packed audience. Adorbs!

Love seeing him in daddy-mode! Breezy will wrap up his tour on September 19th at the Concord Pavilion in California.

Oh...and about that alleged "no show" at ATL Black Gay Pride....

According to TMZ, Chris was tapped to perform at the event, but the memo never reached Breezy and his team. The talent agency who booked Chris for the gig felt the event promoters breached their contract after using the wrong picture in the promo, so Chris was never told about the deal, which is why he didn't hit the stage.

Now, the "Ayo" singer's agency must cough up the $12,500 deposit to the promoters. As of yet, they haven't received their money and threatened to sue if they don't get it soon. Let's hope they Western Union the dough STAT!

In YBF kids news....

While 50 Cent’s relationship with his oldest son remains strained, he spends plenty of time with his 3-year-old son Sire Jackson (who recently celebrated a birthday).

Little Sire, who has already landed his first six-figure modeling gig, showed off his official YEEZY gear in an Instagram pic. And it features none other than cutie North West. Aww…

Fif captioned, “My Dad's crazy, he said I get all his money. So I can only date hot girls that have their own.” Ha! That Sire will surely be a heartbreaker when he gets older.

Taraji P. Henson attended a private dinner for her 45th birthday over the weekend, which brought out Mary J. Blige & Morris Chestnut.  See party photos inside....

Following the NYC premiere of her hit FOX series "Empire," Emmy-nominated actress Taraji P. Henson didn't head home.....she's much to fabulous for that. Instead of retiring to her hotel, the 45-year-old actress headed to the swanky Asia de Cuba where she and a few of her closest friends enjoyed a decadent dinner.

The party was sponsored by Ciroc and CROSS Pens (known for their luxury gold peerless pens and 170 yr. old gold lion logo). The party decor included lots of gold and lots of lions.

Mary J. Blige, one of Taraji's closest friends, stepped out looking glamorous in this black number.  Just for laughs.....do you remember that time Taraji brought out Mary on "Lip Sync Battle" to see her hit "Just Fine?"

Hollywood hunk Morris Chestnut, who is set to star on the FOX series "Rosewood" (it debuts on September 23rd) stepped out looking all chocolate and delicious. 

And in case you missed it, Morris stars alongside Sanaa Lathan and Michael Ealy inThe Perfect Guy, currently the #1 movie in the country!  

Before they dined, guests all signed Taraji's huge birthday card with a large gold CROSS pen. 

Then all the shenanigans started......Taraji climbed on tables and danced the night away. Shoutout to the Ciroc!

Taraji's dessert featured a beautiful gold cake topped with a gold lion surrounded by Ciroc bottles shooting off sparklers!

“Being Mary Jane” star Gabrielle Union is bringing the brown beauty fab on 1 of 3 covers for REDBOOK magazine’s October 2015 issue.

Inside, the 42-year-old actress opens up about her struggle to have kids later in life (with the help of IVF treatments) after choosing to work on her career over having children earlier in life.

While she has found box office and primetime television success, unfortunately, she’s having a hard time conceiving. But, she’s handling the issue in stride and realizes what’s meant for her will come, if it’s meant to be.

The With This Ring starlet also dished on what it’s like to be married to a much younger man, her 33-year-old husband Dwyane Wade, and the hardships working women go through once they decide to expand their families. Below are the highlights:

On IVF and the pressures of trying for a family later in life... "So far, it has not happened for us. A lot of my friends deal with this. There's a certain amount of shame that is placed on women who have perhaps chosen a career over starting a family younger. The penance for being a career woman is barrenness. You feel like you're wearing a scarlet letter."

On the weird thing about being married to a younger man... "I realized his friends, his teammates, were conceived when I was, like, a senior in high school. I was in high school at the same time as their parents! Sometimes he'll be like, 'Oh, my God, he's so old!' about someone who's 35. But, Dwyane's an old 33, and I'm a young 42, so it balances out."

On how hard it is for working women with children... "The reality is that women are discriminated against in the workplace for being mothers. As much as there are strides being made – you get pregnant, your career takes a hit. You can't have a bad day. Don't you dare cry at work. Don't raise your voice. Especially if you're a black woman in corporate America—now you're 'the angry black woman.'"

While promoting her flick The Perfect Guy, actress Sanaa Lathan revealed that she's found a perfect guy!  But is it French Montana?  Listen to Sanaa dish on dating and French Montana inside....
 

For the past few weeks we've been semi-stalking Sanaa Lathan....and not because of her hit film career.  Plain and simple - we want the tea on who she's dating.

We first began to suspect something was popping off with her and French Montana a few weeks ago after they both joined Diddy  for a club night out at Playhouse. Once the Ciroc got the best of everyone, Diddy posted a clip of Sanaa stretched out across French’s lap. Then a few days later, we spotted the two out to dinner together.

Coming into the present, Sanaa appeared on LA’s 92.3 today to promote her new film The Perfect Guy, and radio host Big Boy directly asked her if she was dating French (around 4:15).

As first, Sanaa explained that she “doesn’t talk about my personal life.” But then, after a little prodding, she confirms,“I am dating.”

Now....what you'll notice is she NEVER says she's dating French Montana specifically and she artfully dodges that insinuation from Big Boy.  While you can read into it if you'd like, it sounds like Sanaa has met "someone," but it's not necessarily French Montana.  FYI - Whomever she's "dating" has her singing about being "Emotional."  Did you check out her new single with Def Loaf (here)?

And speaking of The Perfect Guy, we can happily report that the Lathan/Ealy produced thriller was a box office hit. The film took in $26.7 million domestic for the weekend, coming in #1 and making a nice little profit from it's modest $12 million budget.
