The nominations are in....and Beyoncé may be poised for an MTV VMAs takeover all thanks to her GoPro. Get the full 2015 nominations list that was just announced inside...
Taylor Swift may be leading the pack in MTV VMAs nominations (surprise, surprise) with nine nods, but the YBF crowd is holding their own in the plenty of categories that were announced today.
Mrs. Carter's seemingly impromptu video for her fun song "7/11" racked up 5 nominations, including Video of the Year. Her GoPro shooting skills also landed her Best Editing and Best Choreography nominations. The pop diva battles it out against her newest bestie Nicki Minaj and Taylor Swift in the Best Pop Video and Best Female Video categories.
Speaking of Nicki, she landed three nominations for her "Bang Bang" collabo with Ariana Grande and Jessie J and "Anaconda." Plus, she opened her biggest North American headline tour to a sold out crowd in Dallas, TX this past weekend. Guess more congratulatory kisses from Meek Mill like this one will occur.
But Nicki and the Barbz aren't satisfied with just three nominations. The "Feelin' Myself" rapper is side eyeing MTV about totally snubbing her and Beyonce's "Feelin' Myself" video. And she says when "other" girls are said to have an impact on the "culture," they get nominated. Hmph.
Read from the bottom up:
Meanwhile...
Kendrick Lamar landed four nominations of his own for "Alright", and it's good to see mainstream recognizing a hip hop album with a good message. Thanks to him teaming up with Taylor Swift on "Bad Blood," there's another 9 nominations he has has a hand in.
Rihanna ("American Oxygen"), Wale ("White Shoes"), A$AP Rocky ("L$D"), and Snoop ("So Many Pros") are all tied at 1.
Wiz Khalifa ("See You Again") and Big Sean ("IDFWU") are up for two nominations. And so is Fetty Wap, who we wouldn't be surprised if he walked home with the MoonMen. Y'all know everybody loves the trap queens....
Here's the full list below. The VMAs air live from L.A.'s Microsoft Theater on MTV August 30th at 9p ET.
