Eleven-year-old Carson Huey-You just became the the youngest person to ever attend Texas Christian University where he's studying quantum physics. And he's a YBF kid! Meet the little genius inside.....

CNN anchor Don Lemon might love this story since he's been spending the past few months debating whether young Black men should be held accountable for pulling up their pants. Meet Carson Huey-You, an 11-year-old who just became the youngest student at Texas Christian University.  And today was his first day on campus.

So what makes young Carson so extraordinary?  His mom (above), Claretta says he was intensely focused as an infant and was reading books by the time he was 2-years-old.  At age 5, he was in high school.  He also speaks Mandarin Chinese and plays piano. And if that isn't enough to blow your mind and make your Honors diploma seem pointless, he graduated from Accommodated Learning Academy in Grapevine (he was co-valedictorian) with a 4.0 grade point average and a 1770 SAT score!

He says he finds Calculus very relaxing.  Yeah...relaxing. "Whenever you are like ‘Oh, that makes sense now,’ just kind of after going at it, going at it, it’s just kind of like that one moment of thought.”

He talked to CBS local about enrolling in college and what his experience has been.

“I’m taking calculus, physics, history and religion. Those are my four classes. It’s fun because it’s basically just like high school, but in a big campus…with a lot more people."

And the folks at TCU spoke about having Carson on the campus. Dean of Admissions Ray Brownsaid it was not easy to admit him, but they were set on him becoming a Horned Frog (the school's mascot).

"He was completely off the grid when it came to even the most basic of things, like completing an application or completing a financial aid form. Because of his date of birth, those forms would not accept his application."

Carson's associate math professor Qiao Zhangadded, “He’s definitely very talented and also he’s very serious about his work and he really enjoys it. And that’s the best that a professor can hope for his students, right?”

The YMCMB artist and Platinum E Hookah honcho is about to put her "Dip It Low" skills to the test.  She's one of the newest contestants on "Dancing With The Stars," according to TMZ.  

At least one other contestant has started rehearsals this week.  So Christina may have as well.  Other YBFers who have reportedly joined the cast: Justin Beiber's frenemy Keyshawn Johnson and "Glee" star Amber Riley.  Snooki and Elizabeth Berkley are also joining the new season.

And speaking of new gigs, fine ass Mekhi Phifer will be coming to our TV screens every week once again this fall.  He just joined Season 3 of one of our fave shows, "House of Lies."

The newly remarried former "ER" actor will play a business mogul who hires cutthroat business consultant Marty Khan (Don Cheadle) to make his empire boom.  And we all know that will only lead to some scandalously funny ish.

Season 3 kicks off January 12th on Showtime.  And Nia Long may be returning for her reoccurring role as well.  We'll be watching...

1.  OWN just picked up a new reality show about four black women trying to get their "come up" in New York.  STORY

John Legend is one step closer to being a married man.  And we caught up with him last night to find out what he's most nervous about, especially now that the bachelor party weekend is over...

Last night, TheYBF.com was on the scene for the SCENE Magazine and GREY GOOSE Vodka special performance by John Legend at the Lower East Side hotspot, The Box.

And as the man who's about to marry one of the most mouthy models on Twitter celebrated the release of his upcoming album, Love in the Future, we had to find out what's going on in his head right now.  Fresh off his Bachelor party weekend in the Hamptons, John tells us there's no cold feet, at least not about the wedding:

"People keep asking if I'm nervous about getting married. I guess I should be, but I don't know. I feel alright. I'm more nervous about my album coming out."

And about writing his song "The Beginning" for fiancée Chrissy Teigen:

"Chrissy asked if it was about her. A few of the songs on the album are about her.  But she played this one for her parents. I was a little embarrassed because it says, 'We couldn't wait. We did it in the living room...'!"

John & Chrissy are set to get hitched at Lake Como, Italy early next month.

Meanwhile at the event, fans and other VIP guests, who were treated to GREY GOOSE bottle service, got an exclusive first listen of unreleased tracks from his new album. He even shared stories about Chrissy, who was the inspiration for new songs including "The Beginning" and "All of Me."

Lamar Odom was spotted making a run for the border today (and by making a "run" we mean Taco Bell).  See pics of Lamar placing his order and get the latest updates on his recovery and marriage.....

Lamar Odom, whom we told you did not attend Clippers practice yesterday as he was no re-signed, was spotted wearing his wedding ring while making a run earlier today. 

We know when you are accused of having a drug problem that making a "run" can have several meanings, but we're happy to report that Lamar's "run" was to the local Taco Bell near the home he shares (and recently returned to) with wife Khloe Kardashian.  His agent said this week he was NEVER missing and Khloe knew the whole time where he was (reportedly in a nearby hotel working out those drug issues), but TMZ maintains he was.  Hmm.

Although tons of photographers gathered around his Mercedes Benz truck and pelted him with questions like"Are you addicted to crack cocaine?", Lamar maintained his composure and waited for his nachos and other food items.  (Watch him get harassed by the cameramen here). 

And how did a cameraman get INSIDE the Taco Bell...just in time... (top pic) to take a pic from the drive thru angle?  Staged?  Hmmmm...

It's worth mentioning that Khloe Kardashian was spotted wearing her wedding band yesterday as well, so it looks like the couple are working through both their marital woes and addiction issues.  Good luck.  

UPDATE: Lamar's monster-in-law mother-in-law is likely getting her show "Kris" cancelled after its six-week test.  Several sources are reporting Fox has decided not to pick up the show due to abysmal ratings.  And the one day of decent ratings--Kanye's finale show--isn't a good enough indication that a whole season would perform similarly.

"LAHH ATL" star Lil' Scrappy was arrested yesterday after brawling at a gas station with a man who disrespected his girlfriend Bambi. Get the deets inside and watch Tamar Braxton's"Hot Sugar" sneak peek.  

Rapper Lil' Scrappy got "scrappy" with a man named Kenny Rogers (not the country singer) at a Georgia gas station yesterday after he disrespected his "BBW LA" girlfriend Bambi.  Sigh.

According to TMZ, police were called to the gas station at 2:33 AM after Lil' Scrappy and Kenny got into a full-on altercation. The fight was broken up by an off-duty cop who just happened to be in the store at the same time. Both men were booked for disorderly conduct and Lil' Scrappy was released a short time later.  As if Scrapy has room for stupid ish like this after JUST leaving jail recently.

When TMZ asked the rapper about the brawl, he said, "He was calling my girlfriend names and then put his hands on me ... so I had to lay them paws on him."  This guy...

Scrappy's lawyer Mawuli Mel Davis says surveillance tape will prove that Scrappy was acting in self-defense.

Let's hope so. We wouldn't want Scrappy to violate his parole and there's no sense in going back to jail if Mona Scott Young has already shut down production for the summer....

There's another YBF chick tennis star on our radar, and she's only 17.  Check out what Victoria Duval had to say about her surprise upset at last night's U.S. Open match....

She and her family have beat the odds in all forms--her doctor father barely escaped death during the Haiti earthquake and Victoria just beat at top 20 player at the U.S. Open, after never even beating anyone ranked over 69th.

Victoria was born in Miami, Florida but grew up in her parents' native country of Haiti.  The family moved back to the U.S. after Victoria--at 7--and some of her cousins were taken hostage by robbers.  And a tennis pro is what she became.

The 296th ranked (yes, 296th!) teen beat #11 seed and 2011 Champion Samantha Stosur on Tuesday, and we're loving her outlook on WINNING in life.  During her post game on-court interview, the bubbly teen told the crowd in Flushing, NY:

'There's a lot to be thankful for. I don't take anything for granted... My Dad is really fortunate to be here....I thank God every day for everything that's happened. Life is short.'

And she refuses to talk about the hostage situation because it's too traumatic:

'It's not a good memory, so I've tried to forget as much as I could about it. I don't remember too much of it anymore, which is great.'

Her dad, who was trapped underneath a crumbled home during the Haitian earthquake after being there for his usual back-and-forth physician work, was there front and center cheering on his baby girl.

The Daily Mail reports:

'One morning we got a call from him and he was (trapped) under the house,' Victoria told CNN in 2011.

'He was sort of giving us his last words and said to my mum, 'Tell the kids I love them.' Mum just collapsed on the floor, but she said, 'No, no, no, you are going to make it.''

Jean-Maurice was buried alive for hours. He did eventually escape but was left with a punctured lung, a shattered arm and five broken ribs.

Real estate developer Harry Kitchen, a friend of the family through tennis connections, paid $30,000 to airlift Victoria's dad back to the U.S., where he received the attention that saved his life.

Rapper Kendrick Lamar has broken down the meaning of "King Of New York" from his controversial "Control" verse and it may surprise you.  Get the true meaning behind the phrase that set fire tot he internet rain inside.....

West coast emcee Kendrick Lamar's verse on Big Sean's"Control" record turned the hip hop community out this summer as lyricists from all over the country (pretty much everybody EXCEPT those who were namechecked) took up the challenge and answered back about who's the best MC.  Though Kendrick shot numerous lyrical daggers, it was the phrase "King of New York" that really seemed to piss off other MCs.

During a recent interview with “Big Boy’s Neighborhood” on Power 106, Kendrick responded to all the drama, for the first time, and broke down the metaphorical meaning of the phrase.

He told Big Boy,"Honestly I didn’t know there would be so much speculation behind it. I just wanted to rap. Anybody that knows me doing music, I wanna just rap.”

He added that he didn't expect to cause controversy with "King of New York” because "I think that’s the case right there of maybe I just dumbed down my lyrics just a little bit."

So what did he mean by "King of New York"?

“The irony of that line is the people that actually understood it and got it, was the actual kings of New York. You know, me sitting down with them this past week and them understanding that it’s not about actually being the king of whatever coast. It’s about leaving a mark as great as Biggie, as great as ‘Pac.”

Oh ok then......that makes sense.  And we're Team Kendrick for a reason.

Tameka Raymond showed up to court with a new legal team during her most recent showdown with Usher Raymond over custody of their sons. Get the deets on what happened inside.....

We promised to keep you posted on the legal battle between Tameka Raymond and Usher Raymond over custody of their sons Usher V and Naviyd.  And the couple had another courtroom showdown yesterday.  We use the term "showdown" loosely because Usher didn't even bother to "show up".

Since her attempt to regain custody during an emergency hearing (following the near-death drowning of Usher V) was dismissed, Tameka reportedly fired her former attorney, Angela Kinley, and showed up with two new legal eagles, Alexa Ross and Richard Robbins (shown above).

But if she was hoping to take her legal battle in a new direction, her attempt was derailed when Mr. Raymond (much like R&B Divas LA star Kelly Price) failed to show up for the mandatory hearing.  We assume he was busy...

The judge was a little peeved and according to the Hip Hop Enquirer, requested Tameka and her attorneys and Usher's legal team to join him in a closed meeting in the judge's chambers. We don't know what was discussed, but we're sure Usher's team got an earful about him missing the hearing.

Another hearing has been set for the month of October and Usher is expected to appear. Unless he's "booked". Stay tuned for more R&B Divos.....

Last night at the Mann Village Theatre in Westwood, California, Keri Hilson showed of her sexy braids and even sexier bod on the red carpet for the movie she co-stars in alongside Vin Diesel, Riddick.

The fab chick flew solo without her man, NBA baller Serge Ibaka.  She's looking fab these days.

Another fab chick, "Pretty Little Liars" co-star Bianca Lawson, also came out to support the Universal Pictures flick.  Great color blue for her.

And Vin Diesel, who stars as Riddick himself, hit the carpet with his hot girlfriend, model Paloma Jimenez.  He's also about to start working on Fast 7 in Atlanta.

And co-star Bokeem Woodbine is still in this acting game.  Who knew.

The movie hits theaters September 6th.

Jay-Z and JT shot their video separately, but director Anthony Mandler made it a seamless collabo effort.  In the vid just released via Facebook, Jay is seen in a dark warehouse-like space contemplating the need for the drug of fame.  And Justin is seen in front of a car--that is set on fire--singing about the ups and downs of the business. 

The vid gets chopped and screwed on some parts for emphasis, and ends with a mountain of cups of champagne "runneth" over.

The pics where shot by fashion team Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott, and show each model both clothed and nude in raw black-and-white images. And of course, Naomi slays!

Inside the issue, 43-year-old Naomi reflects on her career (which has spanned nearly 3 decades).  Here are a few highlights:

INTERVIEW: Does the fashion world still feel like a family to you?

CAMPBELL: Yes. I love the relationship that I have with Azzedine, with Donatella, with Stefano [Gabbana] and Domenico [Dolce], with Marc Jacobs, with Anna Sui. When I started out modeling, there weren't casting directors and there weren't stylists, so you just dealt directly with the designer. We were all much closer back then—we had direct communication with each other, and we all hung out when we weren't working. Obviously, now that's changed, but I believe I've kept it that way.

INTERVIEW: You advise young models on your reality show The Face. Does it feel like you are talking to young women in an entirely different business than the one you started out in?

CAMPBELL: Yes, I do feel that I'm talking to someone who's in a totally different place from where I was when I started modeling. I was fortunate enough to have the wonderful designers and amazing photographers around me, and editors that I knew, and if I wanted to ask a question, I asked them. So that gap has broadened a bit.

INTERVIEW: You always seemed so confident, even early on. Is that an innate quality or something you had to assume to do the job?

CAMPBELL: They always say, "Fake it till you make it." [laughs] No, I'm determined, and I'm passionate and driven about whatever I commit myself to do. If I don't know something, I'm going to ask, and I've got no problems in asking questions. I never have. People ask me, "Are you nervous when you go on the runway? You don't look it." Yes, I am.

Naomi's confidence was on full display over the weekend when she partied at the SAME club at her ex-boyfriend Vladimir Doronin in Ibiza. According to Page Six, the exes were both at club Ushuaia on Sunday night and you could FEEL the tension.

Na Na was celebrating her Interview cover with fashion photographers Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott, Maxwell, Riccardo Tisci, Paris Hilton and her OTHER ex-boyfriendAdrien Brody.

A spy told Page Six: “The atmosphere was icy. They didn’t speak even though they were at a table right next to one another.”

Though she ignored Vlad (who slept with one of her former "The Face" contestants AND another chick who is a Naomi-clone), she did speak to her godchildren, who were seated with him.

What's next for the globetrotting diva?  She's due back in New York next month to shoot the second season of her hit Oxygen TV model reality competition show, “The Face.”

The newest "DWTS" contestant and divorceé is supposedly engaged...again.  Like, with a confirmation for a "source".  We've been saying this was very possible for a while now seeing that we've spotted a diamond ring on her left her hand.  And the report claims a source close to the couple, who has been together for almost 3 years, confirmed

“She is over-the-moon happy,” the insider tells the mag. “She really truly enjoys their active relationship.”

“They love to go fishing, out to nightclubs and just hang out at home,” the insider adds. “They simply enjoy each other’s company.”

Neither Christina nor Jas have yet to comment.  So time will tell...

In addition to dishing on the premiere season, our sneak peek shows the ladies opening up about what the cameras didn’t show.  Sadly, Dawn Robinson refused to attend the reunion taping. SMH.....maybe she was "booked".

The battle of whether ABC's hit show "Scandal" glorifies adultery continues.  After the executive producer of a new salacious ABC show "Betrayal" spoke publicly about how "Scandal" maintained its success despite the adultery, it sparked creator Shonda Rhimes to write something about that....

Shonda just let y'all know you shouldn't mistake the deep artistic storyline of her show "Scandal" for a co-sign of adultery.  So she broke down what she trying to accomplish.

In her latest piece in TV Line, she says:

“I don’t feel like we’re making adultery acceptable. We weren’t setting out to make adultery OK,” Rhimes says of the Betrayal comparison. “To me it’s not about adultery or not adultery. We’re telling the story of these two characters who very specifically have this kind of relationship.”

Rhimes also notes that, to Scandal‘s credit, “we tell all sides. So while there are times when you’re like, ‘Fitz (Tony Goldwyn) and Liv are wonderful and I want them to be together,’ there are also times you think, ‘Fitz is scum and he shouldn’t be cheating on his wife.’ And there are times you think, TONY GOLDWYN, BELLAMY YOUNG‘Olivia should go off and find herself somebody who’s single.’

“I like the fact that everybody feels this big debate. That’s fantastic, because that’s the point,” Rhimes concludes. “We’re not giving a judgement on it one way or the other.”

Meanwhile, "Scandal has wrapped it's second season of taping .  And you can expect to see more Fitz/Liv action.  Shonda gave up a little info saying, "It's not over."

“When we come into the season, Mellie does have things managed on the marital front. But I think Fitz and Liv have an inexplicable attraction to one another....People may be surprised to discover what certain motives are in the situations they’ve been working in."

And now that filming of season 3 is officially underway, and Lisa Kudrow was just announced as having a new role as a politician, Shonda tweeted:

OMG, just watched a cut of @ScandalABC ep 302 that made me dance around my office like a fool. I get to work with great people! #Ilovemyjob

"Blurred Lines" producer Pharrell Williams appeared on the "TODAY" show where he opened up about his fiancee and son--a rare ocassion--and revealed that he writes many of his hits in the shower!  Watch the interview inside....

With 16-Grammy nominations and 3-wins to his credit, producer Pharrell Williams appeared on "TODAY" this morning where he revealed that he's written most of the songs you love ("Blurred Lines", "Milkshake", "Hollaback Girl") in the shower.  "I can write pretty much anywhere, but in the shower it's, like, where it's, like, really great," He added that Nelly's"Hot in Herre" was one of his biggest shower-penned songs.

Reflecting on his childhood in Virginia Beach, he said he met his producing partner Chad Hugo at band camp.  He said, "Most of us were kinda nerdy. Nobody sort of walked in, like, you know, Kurt Cobain, Dave Grohl-cool." While telling the story of his first encounter with Chad, he joked"One year....when I was at band camp" (inside joke from American Pie).

So what does he consider to be his best work? He said, “The best song that I’ve ever co-written was my son.” (referring to his son Rocket, with fiancée Helen Lasichanh).  He even penned a track for his son, called "Rocket", on the Despicable Me 2 soundtrack.

He added that he can't give anyone relationship advice but says his relationship with Helen is "awesome" and she's his "bestie”.  “Every night’s like a sleepover.”  Interesting to hear Skateboard P talk about daddyhood.

Pharrell will appear as a mentor on Rihanna's new fashion reality competition show "Styled to Rock" on the Style Network beginning Nov. 5th.

Back on the music front, Azealia recently dropped the lyric video for her tune "ATM Jam" with Pharrell and we're sure a proper video will be available soon.

In case you missed it, songwriter/singer Lyfe Jennings has penned a song called "ABCs" which is like a Kendrick Lamar-styled challenge to Anthony Hamilton, Kem, Raheem Devaughn, Musiq Soulchild, and Jaheim about who's the best songwriter in the genre.  Listen to the song here.

Though the challenge started off innocent enough, the -ish went left on Twitter.  Lyfe used his timeline to call out Raheem for being a "soft ass nigga".  At one point, Lyfe even hinted that Raheem threatened him "shooters".  But we became skeptical.  Check out some of the slick talk.......... 

Shortly after we were tipped off about the "Twitter Beef", we were ALSO tipped off about the album release dates of both artists via a conveniently random email. SMH.  The thirst.....

We understand that Miley Cyrus' VMA performance is getting everyone's attention, but why do these VERY talented folks have to "create" beefs to drive album sales?

SIDEBAR: The "random" email we were sent confirmed that Lyfe's 5th studio album, featuring "Boomerang" is due October 8th while Raheem's A Place Called Loveland is in stores September 3rd.  

There you have it. We now know everyone's release date and no one needs to contact their "shooters" or make threats.

Sevyn Streeter, the fab chick who's wrote Chris Brown’s “Fine China,” Ariana Grande’s platinum selling smash “The Way” featuring Mac Miller, and most recently Tamar Braxton’s new single "All the Way Home”, is ready for her close-up.

Sevyn (who won two ASCAP songwriting awards in 2012 and one in 2013) is currently in the studio working on her highly anticipated solo debut album and has released her latest single, “It Won’t Stop” features Chris Brown.

Beyonce Knowles has been chillin' out in Brooklyn all day Thursday.  And she's got the pics to prove it.  Check out her, her team and friends hitting the rides and having some type of photo/video shoot inside...

Before she heads to Philly to headline Day 1 of the Budweiser Made In America Festival on Saturday, the blonde bob rocking Mrs. Carter had some major fun in Brooklyn in Coney Island.  Model Jourdan Dunn, who has a cooking channel on Mr. Carter's Life+Times website, was right there with her.  And so were the cameras.   

It's unclear if they were just her own cameras for her own Tumblr page, or if she was doing an actual video or photoshoot.  But the diva looked cute in a tank top and jeans and Prada zip front lug boots as she screamed it out on the wild rides with her stylist Ty Hunter and the rest of her team:

Wiz Khalifa and Amber Rose chatted it up with Angie Martinez where they weighed in on Miley Cyrus, shared some wedding details and Amber revealed why she did a twerk video.  And what's Wiz like when he's not high?  Amber wouldn't even know.  Watch the interview inside....

Newlyweds Wiz Khalifa and Amber Rose stopped Angie Martinez’ show on Hot 97 for their first joint interview since their wedding.  The couple talked about their wedding, the Miley Cyrus VMA performance, and Amber’s infamous twerk video.  Interestingly, Amber revealed that her new manager is Miley's mom! Who knew?

Here are the highlights: 

On their wedding:
Amber: It was better than what I thought it was gonna be.
Wiz: It was beautiful. I’m so proud of my baby for what she did. She put all of that together and everybody’s ranting and raving over every little detail.
Amber: I don’t think you understand how much I love this man. I cried my eyes out.

On Miley Cyrus’ VMA performance:
Wiz: Young, wild, and free. You gotta let people do what they wanna do.
Amber: We love Miley. She’s a real sweetheart. Miley’s mom is managing me now.

On her pre-wedding twerk video:
Amber: He peer pressured me into putting that video out completely and I was like, “Fine, I’ll do it.” And the next day Cam was like, “Oh shit. You put out a freakin’ twerk video.”
Wiz: I was just like, “What did you do that for?” I was just like, “Is that what you really want to do?”

On Wiz’ love for weed:
Amber: I’ve never seen him not high. I don’t know what he’s like not high.
Wiz: I wasn’t high when we signed our marital papers.

Shortly after the wedding, Wiz headed back in the studio to work on his next album, Blacc Hollywood, due later this year. The couple will take a proper honeymoon at a later date.
