Sources close to Khloe Kardashian and Lamar Odom are saying that the couple is "effectively" separated due to his "crack" habit.  A set up for the divorce we all knew was coming?  Hmmm.  Get the deets on what was the final straw inside....

Although divorce attorneys have not been contacted (as far as we know) sources close to Khloe Kardashian and Lamar Odom tell TMZ--the Kardashian mouthpiece who coincidentally has a while lot of info when the family keeps begging for privacy-- that the couple has "effectively" separated following Lamar's refusal to go back into a treatment program.

We showed you photos of Khloe's bff Malika Haqq returning Lamar's white Mercedes to him a few days ago, and apparently, Khloe had already reached the point where she was "done."

Khloe told Lamar that if he didn't get help, she didn't want anything to do with him anymore.  Especially when the reported "Kardashian family intervention" didn't help.

And we're now learning that this has been brewing for a while. Khloe has been secretly dealing with Lamar's alleged drug habit for most of her marriage, but kept it a secret from the family.

In fact, TMZ reports that although Kris Jenner has known about the issue for a few months, Khloe kept most of the family in the dark.  She told private investigators who she called in to follow Lamar-since she thought this was a way to help him-- that Lamar was using "performance enhancing drugs."

Her sisters Kim and Kourtney reportedly only learned about the seriousness of the recreational drug use "very recently".

Khloe only came clean to her family about Lamar's drug use after reports of his infidelity surfaced. "Khloe was a real trooper. She's been living a nightmare," the source said. Convenient Khloe-sympathetic excuse for the death of a marriage? Possibly.  The conspiracy theories are twirling everywhere though that this whole crack story reeks of a Kardashian cover up.  They're becoming pros in spinning divorces to go in their favor.
 

By the way, still no update on Lamar supposedly going missing for the last now 4 days.

LaLa & Carmelo Anthony have been spotted...together...for the first time in a while.  With La's hectic career schedule and Carmelo fresh off a trip to China and ramping up his new clothing line (which he's rocking), the two seem to have been leading separate lives.  But they decided to skip out on the MTV VMAs and chill out with Kiyan back in L.A.

The fam also hit up Universal Studios together on Friday.  And since Kiyan is back in school for the fall, La posted a pic of papa Melo going over his homework with him on Sunday morning:

It was couples night at the VMAs afterparty at The Dream hotel!  After the Award show wrapped at the Barclays Center, Rihanna and Drake were spotted on the rooftop pf the afterparty....together. 

And Beyonce & Jay-Z popped up to join the VMA festivities.  Pics of them, plus Jennifer Hudson, Rocsi and Jamie Foxx inside...

The Carters may have skipped out on the big show, but they rolled to The Dream hotel in Manhattan to party it up with their celeb friends late last night:

Bey looked fab in a navy dress with circular mesh cutouts down the side hem and a hot pair of ankle strapped heels.  And Mr. Carter rocked his Timbs unlaced, jeans and a sweatshirt with his ROC chain.

But what's extra interesting....

We're told Rihanna and Drake were spotted leaving the same after party at The Dream Hotel minutes apart early this morning. But, the two former flames were definitely together at PHD Rooftop (atop the Dream) partying it up.  Rihanna changed into a sexy sparkly little black dress and thought she was back home in Barbados carrying this drink outside. 

And Drake covered his face as he ran out.  You aint slick boo...

P.S.  The twosome were also caught together at Beauty & Essex Friday night.

Queen Latifah is gearing up for the big launch of The Queen Latifah Show with the release of some fun sneak peeks!  Watch the clips inside and the new "Mandela" trailer.

Starting Monday, September 16, 2013, actress and producer Queen Latifah returns to daytime television with "The Queen Latifah Show".

The chat fest is produced by Will and Jada Pinkett Smith's Overbrook Entertainment and Queen Latifah's Flavor Unit along with Sony Pictures TV.  So it's only right Mr. Smith kicks off the premiere with an appearance.

In anticipation of the debut, Queen Latifah has released a fun sneak peak of the premiere as well as a clip of her new tv set (which was designed by Lenny Kravitz!).

We finally have a glimpse at "Luther" actor Idris Elba starring alongside Naomie Harris in their title roles for ‘Mandela: Long Walk To Freedom’ (November 29th).  You'll recall that Idris and Naomie aren't the only actors bringing the lives of Nelson and Winnie Mandela to life on the big screen as Jennifer Hudson and Terrence Howardwill soon hit theaters in Winnie (September 6).

But unlike the Hudson/Howard project (which Winnie Mandela does not support) Idris and Naomie have the support of the Mandela family. According to Flicks And Bits, MANDELA was made with the full support and endorsement of Mr. Mandela, the Nelson Mandela Foundation and the Nelson Mandela Centre of Memory. In fact, South African producer Anant Singh spent 16 years developing the film before they even began production.  Now that's how you make a tribute movie.

Based on the amount of research and effort put into the Idris Elba project, it may be pretty obvious which movie will go down in history as official...

In the latest issue of PAPER Magazine "I'm Out" singer Ciara sat for a stylish photoshoot where she evoked a few "punk-meets-Donna-Reed looks" and talked about her close friendship with designer Riccardo Tisci and her work with the Givenchy fashion house (she rocked Givenchy to last night's VMAs).  And if she can't do anything else, this chick can rock a photoshoot.

Also, the "Body Party" singer chatted about making herself more transparent to her fans and shares how her spirituality has allowed her to become more comfortable about her career choices.  Here are the highlights:

"He's very understanding. And he's my best friend. It's important to have a feeling that you can talk about anything and know a person's going to be there and support you. When we're together, it's not about who we are. I feel very normal, very safe and loved.

There's 8 things we couldn't help but laugh at...and gag at...while watching those ratchet VMAs last night.  And not all of them revolve around Miley Cyrus' foolery.  Check out our rundown inside...

1.  Foxy Brown was found and invited to the VMAs. 

Did you know?  Maybe you did, maybe you didn't.  She hit the red carpet, but was nowhere to be found during the actual show.  We thought it would have been great for Brooklyn's Don Diva to pop up on stage with Lil Kim at the Barclays Center and let the hip hop crowd have their own N'Sync style reminiscence.  But maybe it was for the best that didn't happen.  Especially after seeing what she decided to wear--this dress that is one bend and snap away from a major nip slip.  Ugh.  Still love her though.

2.  Speaking of Lil Kim, she presented with Iggy Azalea

When these two walked out to present Macklemore & Ryan Lewis with an Award, all we could do was hope Kimmy wasn't taking notes about which body parts of Iggy's she was going back to her surgeon to ask for.  The other BK diva was happy as pie to be there and we were surprised MTV recognized that was a good move to have a Brooklyn MC there.  And her perforated booty meat.

3.  The Smiths' reaction to Miley Cyrus' performance

It literally spoke for the masses as a collective.  We were all *Taylor Swift shocked face* as well, but watching the train wreck happen in real time was sad yet gagworthy yet.....too many emotions to type.  But when chick crosses the weirdness lines of Willow & Jaden Smith, of all people, you know something's off....

4.  Taylor Swift's reaction to Miley's performance

Aren't these chicks, Taylor Swift & Selena Gomez, Miley's friends...or something?  When your own friends are looking away in awe, it's time to rethink everything that's happening.  Taylor is the queen of shade (all those shout outs to her exes and all), so she made every unapproving "shocked* look KNOWN.

5.  Miley's "I want to feel black" performance.

Ok, maybe she didn't say "I want to feel black."  But she did say in an interview she wants to delve into "ratchetness" and "act black".  And then, this happened. 

Not sure which black people she's hanging around these days or which vintage episodes of BET's "Uncut" she's been watching, but even the most ratchet of "Bad Girls Club" and "Basketball Wives" were less trashy than her performance.  So what exactly is it that Miley ACTUALLY thinks she's mimicking when she's grinding and twerking looking like a Grand Theft Auto prostitute all over Robin Thicke on a song that really should have been performed with Pharrell? 

Meanwhile, there's rumors that Robin regrets the performance after he saw all the backlash.  While some sources say he's ok with it.  But Robin's wife Paula said today, through "sources" of course, that she's not mad at the performance.  She knew it would be R rated as there were several rehearsals...and she's OK with it.  Must be nice Robin....

6.  Rihanna's semi-shade

Rih Rih sat front row with her homie Melissa Forde.  And neither seemed impressed by anybody's performance.  When the camera cut to them during Drake's performance, they were the only ones sitting.  But Rih has been spotted spending some time with Drake all weekend, s maybe it wasn't shade afterall.  And during Miley's performance, home girl looked confused as ever.  And unimpressed by the try-hard twerkfest.

7.  No YBF folks won a damn thing

Well, besides Janelle Monae & Erykah Badu's "Bet Art Direction" for their Q.U.E.E.N." vid and that was a quick announceent at the beginning of the show.  MTV isn't slick.  Use the urban acts for window dressing and to bring in ratings, but the only people walking away with Moonmen and being touted as Kings/Queens of the Ball are the non-black folks who are sprinkled in urban dominated categories.  Justin Timberlake deserved everything he got.  But there's more than a few folks who were obviously slighted in other categories.   Nothing new...

8.  A$AP Rocky and all his extra foolery

Just peep the clip above of him presenting with Jason Collins, the NBA player who has now become like the face of he LGBT in the league.  All that backing away from Jason and pointing.  Who passed him the mic?

Oh, and he, A$AP Ferg and girlfriend Chanel Iman took the train to Barclays. Foolishness ensued:

Singer Trey Songz peeled off his shirt and took a dip in the pool during a party he hosted over the weekend.  Find out where Trey was and what's he's been up to inside.....

On Sunday, "Neighbors Know My Name" singer Trey Songz hosted Liquid Sundays at Foxwoods Resort Casino.  

Trey, who has released "Sensational" as his latest single, took the time to walk through the crowd and take pictures with his adoring fans.

After mingling with the crowd, Trey stepped to the mic and peformed a few of his hits for the sold out crowd.  

He also showered the guests with champagne.

And of course....you can't see Trey Songz without seeing his abs!  

After performing, he took his shirt off and jumped in the pool.

Trey's Philadelphia fans will be able to catch him performing a free concert as part of Amazon Student’s "Back to College Concert" at the Electric Factory on Thursday, September 12.

Eminem is back with his 8th studio album and a brand new single.  But does anybody care?  Check out his brand new "Bezerk" track, plus get another sneak peek at "The TLC Story" tv movie biopic...

During the VMAs broadcast last night, the new BEATS commercial was shown and it told the name and date of Marshall Mathers' comeback. Marshall Mathers LP 2 is on the way, 13 years after the first Marshall Mathers LP.  And it drops November 5th.

And Em's newest track (he released one days ago called "Survival" after premiering his new Instgaram account & website) is all about rock meets rap.  It's indeed a Beastie Boys feel.  Former Aftermath artist Status Quoexplained"Bezerk" saying:

“...They basically went towards the whole Beastie Boys feel with the beat.  A lot of the rap right now is not in direction, where it’s very hard and shit with guitars. I think Em probably went that way because his typical style is that if everybody’s going right, he’s gonna go left. I definitely feel like it’s going to follow that Beastie Boys motif. I think it’s going to feel like a Beastie Boys record.”

We wonder if Em's daughter Hailey is giving him any IG pointers as she's become pretty popular with her all-positive and cheerful account.

In other news, VH1's "TLC Movie" just got a new trailer.  Ad now we see how Lil Mama, KeKe Palmer and Drew Sidora re-enact some of TLC's most iconic moments, and at least they've got T-Boz's, Chilli's and Left Eye's looks down to a tee.

In this latest trailer, wee see the "Creep" video, the group hearing their song for the first time on radio, Pebbles (played by Rochelle Aytes) telling them they will be the biggest stars in the world, and Lil Mama/Left Eye saying how they're the biggest girl group in the world and broke at the same time.

Looks like VH1 just may have done well with this one.  "The TLC Movie" premieres October 21st at 9p.

Judge Joe Brown is looking disheveled and drunk in a video that recently hit the net.  Peep what Papa Joe is doing with ladies and what he said about his now cancelled show....

Somebody has been hitting the bottle hard in his retirement.  Judge Joe Brown was spotted in what looks like a hotel drunk off his ass and slurring.  He said he's been drinking on double Bombay Sapphire & tonic.  So ish got real.

The person filming said at one point,"Guess what judge, I’m not guilty.”  Judge replied, “F--k that –I quit… I do not do that bulls--- anymore.”

Joe Brown proceeded to put his hand on the hip of one of the two random chicks who was at this venue taking pics with him.  He said "Pretty women like you and you are insecure."  Then he asked (for the umpteenth time) if they'd seen the pic of his wife, which he whipped out for everyone to see.

Producer Tyler Perry is facing a second copyright infringement lawsuit.  Find out why he's being sued inside and get the deets on Chadwick Boseman playing James Brown in a new biopic. 

Tyler Perry has been hit with a copyright infringement lawsuit by screenwriter William James. In the lawsuit, William claims he sent Tyler a 2009 screenplay called "Lovers Kill" which became the basis for Tyler's 2013 flick Temptation: Confessions of a Marriage Counselor.

This is the second copyright infringement lawsuit that Tyler has faced in the past 12 months. In November of 2012, author, Terri Donald claimed he sent Tyler a copy of his 2007 novel, Bad Apples Can Be Good Fruit, which he accused the director of turning into his 2012 film, Good Deeds.

Fortunately for Tyler, Tyler Perry Studios and Lionsgate Entertainment, a New York federal judge dismissed the claim.  Only time will tell if William James will be able to tackle the Tyler Perry legal machine.

And in new movie roles......

Actor Chadwick Boseman has signed on to portray James Brown in a new biopic from Universal Pictures. Chadwick's most recent role was as Jackie Robinson in the film 42.  And we're happy this cutie has landed more work.

Tate Taylor ("The Help") will direct the film with Imagine Entertainment‘s Brian Grazer serving as producer. Brian started developing the project with the involvement of Mr. Brown before he died in late 2006.

So what will the film be about? Deadline reports it will follow "...a young boy’s rise from extreme poverty and violence to become The Godfather Of Soul, one of the most influential black artists in history whose career spanned six decades."

Congrats to Chadwick!

Lamar Odom was a no show at the first day of L.A. Clippers practice today.  But he did pop up back at home--looking gaunt.  And his agent said he was NEVER missing.  Deets inside...

Lamar's technically a free agent right now, but the fact he was a no show at Clippers practice today, the team he played for last season, could mean the Clippers haven't decided to re-sign him. *UPDATE* The Clippers just signedAntawn Jamison so their roster is complete.  Lamar remains unsigned.

The interesting news is, Lamar's agent said TMZ's report was wrong and Lamar was never missing.  And his wife knew exactly where he was--at a nearby hotel getting hold of an unspecified drug problem.

Hmmm.

Lamar did pop up at his home yesterday afternoon.  TMZ has the pics here and they say he looked frail and gaunt.And also reported that wife Khloe is making a last ditch effort to save him.

While reports are saying the NBA baller has a crack cocaine problem, updated reports claim that  his room at the Westin in Memphis during the 2012 season was left with serious rug burns and white powder everywhere.  The room reeked of a drug den.  And the Clippers were there to play a travel game.

Now, TMZ claims he's crossed the barrier into crack cocaine and it's now a vital situation.

R. Kelly made a surprise appearance at ATL Live On The Park last night where he gave the crowd his classics.  See pics of Kels, Christopher Williams and others at the event inside and check out  Marlo Hampton and Cynthia Bailey on the red carpet for Jeffrey Fashion Cares..... 

Last night, legendary R&B crooner R. Kelly (shown above with music industry exec and event producer Shanti Das) made a surprise appearance at ATL Live on the Park.

The popular event was held at Park Tavern and featured an evening of performances by some of R&B's most talented acts.  

Look who crawled out the BACK of the insulation of the woodwork.  "I'm Dreamin" singer Christopher Williams was among the acts who graced the stage with a few of his classic hits.

The show was hosted by "Lifestyle Expert" Kenny Burns.

The husbands of "RHOA", Peter Thomas, Gregg Leakes (shown above with Cynthia Bailey) and Apollo Nida (not pictured) were billed as co-hosts for the evening.

Nene and Cynthia seemed to have a great time.  And looked cute.

We're all anticipating the debut of Nene's wedding spinoff "I Dream Of Nene" on September 19th at 9pmET on Bravo.  And by anticipating we mean waiting for her to lay intot hat "alleged" wedding planner.

Usher's ex-wife Tameka Raymond posed with Ne-Yo's ex-fiancee Monyetta Shaw.  SMH.....does anyone else smell a reality show in the works?  We know there have been rumblings of a "Hollywood Exes"-styled show based in Atlanta.  If they're still casting....we'd love for them to add Pebbles (LA Reid's ex) to the mix.

Legendary producer Teddy Riley was also spotted.

Former "RHOA" star Dwight Eubanks was there.  We wonder what he thinks about Bravo's "Fashion Queens".

And "Married To Medicine" star Jacqueline Waters was there too.

R&B crooner Johnny Gill is heading to court with the Four Seasons Hotel after they failed to protect him from a drunken, racist patron.  Get the lawsuit deets inside and watch Russell Simmons face off against Don Lemon about hip hop and accountability.

"My My My" singer Johnny Gill is taking the Four Seasons Hotel to court after one of their drunken, racist patrons rubbed him the Right wrong way.  

The incident allegedly went down on August 23, 2011 where Johnny says he was attacked in the Four Seasons Beverly Hills patio area by a drunk White patron who yelled racial slurs AND pushed him so hard that he got slammed against a heating lamp!

If you're wondering about any prior exchange that may have led to the altercation, Johnny places the blame squarely on the bartenders! Johnny does not know that man....but he knows the dude got pissy drunk and started acting out.

So what happens in Beverly Hills when a black man gets attacked by a white man? According to Johnny.....not a damn thing!

The case is heading to Superior Court where Johnny's paperwork alleges,

"Plaintiff is African American and this individual who uttered these racially charged negatives remarks was Caucasian.

"Plaintiff objected to these unsolicited remarks and when he did so, this individual pushed plaintiff with such force and intensity that plaintiff was thrust up against a heating lamp causing great bodily injury with resulting pain and suffering, major medical expenses and loss of earnings as plaintiff was unable to perform as an entertainer, plaintiff's extremely successful and lucrative chosen profession for over 20 years.

"At no time did defendant's security employees, staff or representative offer any assistance to plaintiff nor did any such intervene to protect plaintiff, prevent the individual from becoming inebriated and thus behaving in an unruly manner the result of which was the assault that was committed on plaintiff and the resulting injuries to plaintiff."

He's seeking $1 million dollars for negligence, failure to intervene, failure to exercise reasonable care, pain and suffering and medical expenses.

We hope he gets every penny if true. Can you imagine how quickly they would have intervened have some drunk black chick punched out Reese Witherspoon?

In case you were under a rock, two black men who've both been on various people's "sh*t" list faced off against each other for a good cause.....ratings.

Folks have given CNN anchor Don Lemon the side-eye since he decided to defend  Bill O’Reilly‘s assessment of the black community and blamed young Black teens for their own issues. Meanwhile, it's hard to look at Uncle Russell the same since we've learned that the idea of Harriet Tubman making a sex tape with her slave master merits a laugh and a chuckle.

So now....they're talking to each other. Airing out THEIR differences. In case you care, here are a few gems:

Russell on why he disagrees with Don Lemon's assessment of Black Youth:

Sometimes, if a black person that’s revered in the community that says something that’s — conservative, ” he explained, “and I think is part of a mindset that is hurtful to the community, people will say the problem with the black community — kids have their ass crack showing. The problem with the black community is they need education opportunities and need job opportunities. These realities are the ones we immediate to bring up and we are talking about uplifting our children.”

Russell on the biggest issue facing Black America:

“The greatest course of the destruction of the fabric of black community has been the prison industrial complex. If we go (to) school, and there’s no books and — teachers aren’t teaching, and the students are in a kind of situation where they don’t even have a gym class, they don’t have an art class,” he continued. “Without art, there is no way — you have to — exercise the creative muscles. That’s why we raise millions of dollar for the arts. Those are the kinds of things that we can do to change the condition that creates poetry and makes you uncomfortable.”

Don Lemon on his feelings about hip hop:

Don’t mistake my passion for not — that I don’t like hip-hop. I think it is an art. I think people like Jay-Z and Kanye West are great artists. Kids are dying every single minute and it is because, as you said, we had the responsibility or there are people being educated in prison culture. I think that helps perpetuate that education in prison culture. And I don’t understand why you can’t see that. “I want young black men, especially the people being killed, to be better, the industry to be better. That’s it.”

Eva Marcille and boyfriend Kevin McCall are expecting their first child together!  Deets inside on the rapper/singer/songwriter & model duo....

"Top Model" alum Eva Marcille just confirmed she's pregnant!  And she's 5 months along.  Yep, 5 months preggers with only a tiny baby bump showing through her gorgeous black gown at this weekend's BMI Awards (below):

The twosome, who have been together a little less than a year, confirmed to BET.com today that they have a bun in the oven.  The 28-year-old new mom-to-be said about expecting her first child:

"Being able to bring a life into the world is every woman’s dream but for me it’s more than just a dream it is a magical, mystical journey which I get to share with this amazing man.

Kevin is the only man who I would share this moment in life with.”

Well that's sweet.  And we're sure Eva will rock pregnancy well.  The modelicious chick was just in a teeny weeny bikini when apparently she was 2 months along.

"Deuces" rapper Kevin, who already has a toddler daughter, is clearly smitten with his woman.  He gushed about her being on his arm for last Thursday's BMI Awards saying on his IG account.

"My beautiful woman came along to support me. She is such an encouragement to me to keep pushing and also to be grateful for all accomplishments big or small...love her for that cuz shit gets tuff in this game."

Awwww.

TheYBF.com was live on the 2013 VMAs red carpet where we got the latest dish about the new projects from TLC, Busta Rhymes and Ashanti. Watch our exclusive video inside.... 

This year's 2013 VMA's took place at Brooklyn's own Barclay's Center with stars such as Wiz Khalifa, Busta Rhymes, Foxy Brown, Ashanti, Kendrick Lamar, Paula Patton and others filling the red carpet with beauty and blitz. We watched Ciara and Future hit the carpet arm and arm and TLC's Chilli discussed the debut of their biopic film "CrazySexyCool" and new album all set to release this October. But with all the great things coming into play, it seems there may be a little tension between her and T-Boz. We noticed they didn't interact much on the carpet while promoting their upcoming projects.

Meanwhile, Wiz Khalifa told us that his wife Amber could not attend the show due to a family emergency.

Ashanti (who looked amazing in a seafoam green Michael Costello gown and Lorraine Schwartz jewels told us that her Braveheart disc will drop at the end of the year.  Also, she gave us aome info about what it was like working with First Lady Michelle Obama on a "Hip Hop for Health" cd.  She told us "Its a hip hop cd for kids to work out and get active and fight childhood obesity. She's also wrapped up a movie that will be in theaters in December 2014.  SIDEBAR:  Ashanti revealed that she was wearing a mixture of her own fragrance "Precious Jewel" with J'Adore.

It doesn't matter why someone is all over the news these days, it just matters if they are.  Because folks will hop on the bandwagon and try to grab up some of that shine while it lasts.  Enter Kanye West and his reported Black Skinhead remix...with Miley Cyrus....

Page Six is reporting that Miley skipped out on her own VMAs afterparty at No. 8....after her nude panties tragedy of a performance....to hit up the studio with Mr. West.  And supposedly, they're working on a remix to 'Ye's single "Black Skinhead."

Since Miley has said she wants to "feel black" and delve into the culture....whatever her interpretation of "the culture" is....it's no surprise she would take Kanye up on his offer.  The former Disney chick is going after anything and everything "provocative" these days.  By any means necessary.

Reportedly, the collabo will appear on a Yeezus Remix EP due out later this year.

Every entertainment media outlet in New York City was clamoring for a piece of Justin Timberlake this week, but htere's only a few things we really care about.  And we gathered all that up for ya.

Following his hot performance at the VMAs, he stopped by Sway's Shade 45 show where he dished on Kanye's disdain for "Suit & Tie", what he thought about Miley Cyrus's twerking and what we can expect from the next installment of The 20/20 Experience.

On Kanye West's critique of "Suit & Tie":

“At the end of the day, it’s just music. I love Suit and Tie, it reminds me of the music I grew up listening to. I respect his opinion because I think he’s a genius… but I don’t share that opinion. It’s just not a big deal deal… to do it at SNL too… it’s not that big a deal. I don’t know that he fully understands what I can do, and that’s ok… as a matter of fact, Jay said the same thing."

On what fans can expect from The 20/20 Experience Part II (featuring Jay Z and Drake):

“The first half was the freshman love, so you wanna go to her house and impress her parents. Then you realize she has an older sister, that’s a senior, dark hair and tattoos and she’ll give you that look, ‘I’ll turn you out.’ That’s the second half. Sonically, it sounds darker.”

On why he co-signs Miley's performance:

“She’s doing what 20 year old girls do. The difference is she’s got a microphone, she’s on stage at the VMAs… Take it easy on her, she’s 20 years old, she’s a young adult and she can do that.

On recording "Cabaret" (a stripper's anthem) with Drake:

Before TBC kicked off their Justin Timberlake interview, Angela Yee remarked that Justin was their "biggest" guest to date.  But now that The Breakfast Club just went nationally syndicated, they'll likely be copping some even bigger folks in the future.  Congrats to Angela Yee, DJ Envy and Charlamagne!  Here are the highlights from their chat with JT:

On touring with Jay Z:

Going on tour this summer with Jay was incredible.  For him to give me creative license to put the show together, meant a lot.  It's the best show I've ever been a part of.  

(He also explained that Jay Z was the original pick for the feature on "My Love" but because Jay had already done Beyonce's "Deja Vu", he didn't want to be over exposed).

 On working with Timbaland and Pharrell and staying relevant:

I think it's working with the same people and the consistency.  That's what I have with Tim and Pharrell. I've always kept the same folks around me.  I think consistency in your acutal process....just with the people you keep around you.

On missing the child star curse:

I guess my folks.  My mother really.  Growing up in the south, you're taught that you're just as much like the guy next door to you as an individual.  You get a sense of community.  When I was 10-years-old, my mother said to me, 'You have a really special gift.  But that doesn't make you special in other areas of life.  You still have to work at being a good person.  Your gift comes with an actual curse.  You have to offset that with normalcy.'  I was 10 years old when I got my first job.  That's not normal.  So...anybody's gonna get messed up in the head having that.  I got lucky cause I have great parents.
