Savannah Brinson, the fiancee of three-time NBA MVP LeBron James is stepping out on the philanthropic scene in a big way. Find out what she's up to and how she hopes to give back inside....
In a new interview for the Associated Press, Savannah Brinson, the fiancee of LeBron James and arguably one of the most talked about basketball "wives", steps out from LeBron's shadow and introduces herself as a strong confident woman. Social media and the internet streets love her...and they also love to hate her. But for the first time, we get to hear in an official form what Bron Bron's high school sweetheart has to say about herself.
Though we've often seen Savannah in pics withAdrienne Bosh and Gabrielle Union, for the first time, Savannah is beginning to distinguish herself as an individual and letting the public get to know who she is. And we must say, it's about time.
Shown above with LeBron and some of the young women they've helped through a recent Prom dress giveaway, Savannah has committed to improving the lives of the underprivileged, and donated 100 prom dresses to programs in Miami and Akron (her hometown). See what she shared about stepping out on the philanthropic scene, future goals and her motivations for giving back:
On providing 100 prom dresses to underprivileged girls:
"I can't imagine being in their situation and not have somebody help. I really care. It's really in my soul to help people, and this is the first baby to come from it. There comes a time when you have to give back."
On why she's becoming more vocal and active in philanthropy:
"People will say I'm doing this for attention and now that I'm getting married, I'm coming out from behind his shadow, but I just thought it was time.
On how she hopes to be a role model for young women:
I'm letting these girls know that I'm confident, showing them my personal growth, and maybe it will help them as well."
LeBron James speaks about Savannah's power:
"I just think she has a knack for being powerful. Women are more powerful than men. Her voice and her being my sidekick, her voice is very powerful, especially to these young women who are underprivileged."
