”Welcome To Sweetie Pie’s” star James “Tim” Norman was convicted of setting up his nephew’s murder in 2016 after previously pleading guilty.
On Friday, a jury found the 43-year-old former reality star - star of OWN’s “Sweetie Pie’s” and son of MissRobbie - was found guilty of guilty of conspiracy to commit murder-for-hire, murder-for-hire and conspiracy to commit mail and wire fraud in the fatal shooting of his 21-year-old nephew, Andre Montgomery Jr., on March 14, 2016, according to a press release from the U.S. Attorney's Office Eastern District of Missouri.
Robbie “Miss Robbie” Montgomery, founder of the soul food restaurant Sweetie Pie's, attended the trial and was in the courtroom when Tim was convicted.

All three of Tim’s co-defendants - TravellAnthony Hill, Terica Ellis and Waiel Yaghnam - pleaded guilty before trial.
Tim Norman fraudulently obtained a life insurance police on Andre, who appeared on the “Sweetie Pie’s,” worth $450,000 without Andre's knowledge and then arranged a murder-for-fire plot so that he could profit from it.
Back in June, we told you Travell Anthony Hill implicated Tim as the mastermind of the murder-for-hire plot against his nephew/former co-star, who was the grandson of Miss Robbie.
Travell Anthony Hill, now 31, pleaded guilty to murdering Miss Robbie’s grandson for pay while implicating others. The St. Louis man was convicted of conspiracy to commit murder-for-hire and a separate count of murder-for-hire in the killing of 21-year-old.
In March 2016, Andre was shot and killed in the 3900 block of Natural Bridge Drive in the City of St. Louis. It’s reported Andre received a phone call from a woman named Terica Ellis to come outside. When he did, he was gunned down.

In August 2020, Tim - who sentenced to 10 years in prison for armed robbery when he was a teenager - and his alleged accomplice - an exotic dancer from Memphis named TericaEllis, now 38 - were indicted for the offenses of conspiracy to commit murder-for-hire and murder-for-hire, resulting in death.
In Travell’s plea agreement, he admitted to shooting and killing Andre in exchange for $5,000 two days after the death. During phone calls with his brother from jail, he discussed payment from Tim. He said Tim hired him to kill his nephew because “he wanted Montgomery dead.”

On the day of Andre’s death, Terica and Tim met in St. Louis and Tim told Travell that a woman would be calling with Andre’s location. After receiving a call from Terica, Travell fatally shot Montgomery with a .380-caliber handgun and then disposed of the gun and his phone.
During the trial, Terica testified that she met with Tim at a hotel in the early morning hours of March 14, 2016. The exotic dancer was working at an East St. Louis strip club overnight. Terica said she lived in the Memphis area, but made frequent trips to St. Louis for weekend work. She also said she knew Tim since 2011 since they were involved in a “friends with benefits” relationship.
On the stand, she admitted knowing knowing that Tim was upset and frustrated by his inability to locate Andre and knowing that Tim was going to take some form of action, but she claims she did not know Andre would be shot. Tim paid her $10,000 for finding his nephew and told her to dispose of her burner phone after the murder.
During the trial, Tim took the stand in his own defense where he denied ever telling other defendants, Terica and Travell, that he wanted Montgomery dead.
In June of 2015, Miss Robbie's home was burglarized and Tim said a ton of items were stolen, including some of his own irreplaceable items. He said he did tell Terica and Travell he wanted to find his nephew to find the items taken, but that was it. Hmph.
Grammy nominated Hip Hop producer/insurance agent Waiel Rebhi Yaghnam was hit with one count of conspiracy to commit wire and mail fraud. He pleaded guilty.
As for Waiel's involvement, he was reportedly Tim’s insurance agent, and he helped the reality star fraudulently obtain a life insurance policy on Andre. Waiel was not charged in the alleged murder-for-hire plot.
Beginning in October of 2014, Tim and Waiel submitted five separate life insurance applications, all containing numerous false statements regarding Andre’ income, net worth, medical history, employment and family background, according to a press release from the U.S. Attorney's Office Eastern District of Missouri.
The $200,000 policy that was ultimately issued had a $200,000 accidental death rider that would pay out if Andre died of something other than natural causes and a $50,000 rider that would pay out if Andre died within 10 years of the policy’s issuance.
Just days after Andre’s murder, Waiel helped Tim file the insurance policy claim on Andre. SMH!
Tim Norman is scheduled to be sentenced December 15th. Terica is expected to go on trial this month. We were unable to find exact trial dates for the co-defendants.
Many believe Tim allegedly had his nephew killed so that there wouldn’t be anyone in his way to receive an inheritance from Miss Robbie. Andre was Tim’s dead brother’s son.
