The 9-1-1 call made after an alleged intruder was shot in the leg for trespassing on DaBaby's property has been released. The caller told police the man had been “neutralized” as the man was heard crying in pain during the emergency call. After the shooting, the rapper sent “well wishes” to the alleged intruder on social media. Get it all inside…
It seems rapper DaBaby STAYS in some mess!
Following his bowling alley brawl in February, the “ROCKSTAR” rapper found himself face-to-face with an intruder outside of his North Carolina mansion.
Earlier this week, there was a shooting at the North Carolina mansion of rapper DaBaby (real name Jonathan Kirk) Wednesday evening around 7:45pm, according to Troutman police. Apparently, the “Neighborhood Superstar” lives behind a concrete wall and a high chain-linked fence for protection with “No Trespassing” signs posted around the property.

A person who was not supposed to be on the property was shot outside of DaBaby’s mansion (allegedly on the football field) after exchanging words with the rapper. DaBaby and one other person was at the home when the intruder got in. The victim’s identity has not been released, but they are being treated at a Charlotte hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and is expected to be OK.
Troutman Police Chief JoshWatson confirmed the person shot doesn't live in the area and wasn't a guest of DaBaby or any other property in the neighborhood.
Iredell County Emergency Communications released a redacted 9-1-1 call where the caller tells police he shot a person who was on his property that wasn’t supposed to be there.
The caller told the 9-1-1 dispatcher“I shot him in his leg.”
“OK. And why did you do that?” the dispatcher asked.
“He’s trespassing on my property and calling me by my name. I don’t know what he’s here for. What he’s here to take. What he’s here to do. He’s neutralized until you guys get here," the caller stated.

The caller told the dispatcher the victim was bleeding but was breathing and urged the police to hurry and get there. During the call, the dispatcher asked the caller to secure his weapon, but he refused to put it down out of concern for his safety. Once cops arrived, the caller cooperated with police. Authorities have not confirmed who made the call.
Take a listen to the redacted audio below:
On Friday, DaBaby took to his Instagram to seemingly take responsibility for the shooting. The police have not confirmed who fired the shot or who called 9-1-1.
The "SUGE" rapper shared the “N*ggas get shot err’yday B” scene from the classic film Paid In Full, making light of the shooting:
”chose not to take a n*gga life the other day & it felt great,” he wrote. “Buddy ain’t deserve to go, I step righteously. Heal up & live my boy! Just don’t bring ya a** back.”
DaBaby tagged his location Dallas, TX in the post, indicating he's no longer in North Carolina.
He also reacted to folks responding to the caller saying they “neutralized” the intruder until the police arrived.
”Neutralize em cumin. Safety first,” DaBaby wrote on IG Stories. “Gotta know da laws & da lingo so they don’t trick you out your freedom.”
At this time, no charges have been filed against the alleged trespasser and there’s no word on if DaBaby will face any consequences. Criminal charges seem unlikely since North Carolina is a stand your ground state, but we shall see.
This is the latest in a string of shooting incidents surrounding DaBaby. In October 2018, the rapper was involved in a deadly shooting inside a Walmart in Huntersville, N.C. while shopping with his daughter. The shooting left one person - 19-year-old Jalyn Craig - dead.
The rapper was charged with murder, but the charges were reduced to a misdemeanor for carrying a weapon.
