Actress/singer AmberRiley has called off her engagement to fiancé DeseanBlack and is currently living a life that’s fully committed to being the best version of herself. More inside…

AmberRiley is back on the scene…single…after calling it quits with her fiancé Desean Black.

In December 2020, the “Glee” alum revealed she was set to trek it down the aisle to marry the love of her life, Desean Black. Since then, Amber has happily shared how she can’t wait to say “I Do” to her love and even dropped wedding deets about their nuptials.

However, some things just aren’t meant to last. During an appearance on the Nice & Neat podcast, Amber - who is starring in LIFETIME’s “Single Black Female” thriller opposite RavenGoodwin- revealed her relationship status changed up.

When asked about her love life, she responded,“I am a single Black female. I am, but I’m not a crazy one like in the movie.”

That was news to the masses since last we all saw, she was wrapped up in love with her (now ex) fiance Desean Black.

“I’m recently single,” she added, noting that the breakup wasn’t a nasty one. “It was amicable,” she said. “I wish him the best. I don’t have anything horrible or bad to say.”

Well, that’s good.

Both Amber and Desean have erased photos of each other on their Instagram accounts.

“I learned lessons from every relationship I was in and I thank them and leave them with love and light," she shared. That’s all that I can do,” she said. “It’s not a passive aggressive ‘love and light’ because honestly, the only thing that I can control is me. And that’s the only thing I can focus on. I can only focus on my mistakes and what it is that I’ve done and how I’m going to do better. If I sit and think about every single thing that person may have done…for what?”

Since the breakup, Amber has been laser focused on herself, revealing that she has been prioritizing wellness not necessarily for the physical benefits, but really, for the mental gains.

“It’s taken me a couple years to understand that choosing myself is not selfish,” she said. “It sounds foreign and it sounds inappropriate and it [sounded] wrong to me for a long time. But making those decisions to actively choose yourself has really helped me say, ‘Oh God I really don’t feel like getting up that early tomorrow to work out but I have this, this and this to do in the afternoon and I need to get my mind right.’ And that is, ‘Amber, you choosing yourself.'”

And who could be mad at that? A lot of women don't realize it's NOT selfish to take time for yourself. It's needed!
