After learning that legendary singer Aretha Franklin is"gravely ill" (who's reportedly battling cancer), Beyonce dedicated last night's show in Aretha's hometown of Detroit to her.
While performing at Detroit's Ford Field, Bey told the crowd:
“This show is dedicated to Aretha Franklin. We love you and thank you.”

The "Summertime" singer paid tribute to the music legend after it was reported the 76-year-old singer had been transported to hospice care at her home in Motor City. According to people in Aretha's camp, it doesn't appear she has much time left.
The Detroit Free Press pointed out that Ford Field is "around the corner from Aretha Franklin Way, the Detroit street ceremonially named last summer for a tearful Franklin.”
DJ Khaled, who performs the opening act, also paid tribute to Aretha during his set, playing a snippet of her iconic cover of Otis Redding's 1965 track "Respect," before encouraging the crowd to make some noise for the singing legend.
