R&B music has a new youngin' for teen girls to swoon over. Meet the multi-talented singer Trevante inside and check out his latest single "Be My First."
Houston, Texas native Trevante is set to become the next big thing in R&B.
Though he's only 17, Trevante, who does his thing in the ATL now, has been making music since he was 12 after his father, song writer Joe Haliburton, established Selsum Records and put out two singles, “That Girl” and “Baby Girl”.
Now signed to Imani Entertainment Group, Trevante says:
“I love performing. I feel like I can just be myself…I just let go. It’s the best feeling in the world!”
His debut album, “I Am Trevante,” (slated for a late-2011 release) will feature songs co-written by himself, Ne-Yo, Chris Brown, Rodney “Darkchild” Jerkins, Diane Warren, Rico Love, The Underdogs, and Troy Taylor.
About his new LP, Trevante says,
“This album is special because it’s my introduction to the world. It’s about love and purity. It shows my R&B side, my pop side, and it’s just overall good music.”
He's currently on BET's “106 & Park: Closer to My Dreams Tour,” with Tyga, Mindless Behavior, Diggy Simmons, Lil Twist and Jawan Harris.
