Black Hollywood was dripping all the sauce on the red carpet for the 2017 SAG Awards. Soak in the looks of Viola Davis, Taraji P. Henson, Kerry Washington, Janelle Monae and many more inside...
Black Excellence was sprinkled all over the 23rd Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards held at The Shrine Auditorium tonight. Our YBFers showed up and showed OUT. Get into their looks below:
Pure elegance!
Hollywood titan Viola Davis looked regal as ever in a white strapless Vivienne Westwood couture gown accented with a bold statement necklace and black box clutch. Effortlessly classic. The FENCES star nabbed the Outstanding Performance by a Female in a Supporting Role award. CONGRATS!
Viola's husband Julius Tennon was right by his wife side to show support.
By the way, Viola is producing (alongside her husband) and starring in a new LIFETIME film titled Custody, set to premiere in March 2017.
Back on the carpet...
White hot!
Kerry Washington, who was up for a SAG Award for her role in Confirmation, shut down the carpet in a white off-the-shoulder Cavalli Couture gown. Sparkle on Kerry!
Hidden Figures starlet Taraji P. Henson rolled elegant and sexy into one fierce look. The romantic Reem Acra gown gave ballroom realness and a dose of sultriness with the see-through lace.
She joined her Hidden Figures castmates as they were up for a SAG Award as an ensemble.
Taraji’s co-star Janelle Monae was her usual gorgeous self in her signature black-and-white. The Chanel number featured prints and fabrics that she styled with Stuart Weitzman sandals.
SAG nominee and Hidden Figures star Octavia Spencer was ready for the awards show festivities in a black peplum top dress.
“black•ish” star Yara Shahidi kept it flawless in a striped Naeem Khan halter gown styled with Ade Samuel shoes and an Onna Ehrlich clutch on the carpet.
Twirl Yara!
Well here's a surpise! “black•ish” Anthony Anderson brought his wife Alvina Stewart as his date. Apparently, she called off their divorce earlier this month. Well good for them. She came out to show support on Anthony's SAG nomination.
The rest of the “black•ish” cast, including Tracee Ellis Ross, Marsai Martin, Miles Brown and Laurence Fishburne, were in attendance:
The comedy series was nominated for the Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series award.
Moonlight star and soon-to-be new dad Mahershala Ali kept it dapper in all white everything. He copped his first SAG Award in the Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Supporting Role category. CONGRATS!
