President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama spent their final MLK Day in office at a homeless shelter in D.C. The Obamas helped paint a mural of Martin Luther King Jr. and played around with a few kiddies on the swing set they just donated to the shelter. More inside…
More tears!
We’re still having a hard time coming to terms that President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama are leaving the White House. Ugh! Such is life.
Days before they leave the people's house for good, POTUS and FLOTUS spent their final MLK Day in office painting a mural of civil rights leader Martin Luther King Jr. and playing on Sasha and Malia’s old playground set that FLOTUS recently donated.
The Obamas arrived at Jobs Have Priority Naylor Road Family Shelter, a family shelter in the Woodland neighborhood of southeast D.C., for their MLK Day of service. When the president and first lady made their first appearance, one of the children yelled, “It’s Barack Obama!” in awe that our 44th president was standing right in front of them. POTUS greeted the kiddies with his usual “Hey Guys!”
The Obamas rolled up their sleeves to finish a mural of the late civil rights leader in the building’s community room.
“I just want you to know, I didn't do all this," the President told everyone as he painted a butterfly.
After painting, the Obamas headed outside to play with the children on Sasha & Malia's old playset that FLOTUS donated to the shelter:
Mrs. O dubbed it "Malia & Sasha's Castle."
During the visit, POTUS pushed two little girls on the swings while FLOTUS showed one little boy how to use the rope swing.
"Brings back memories," POTUS said, as he pushed one of the little girls on the swing. Awww!

In other political news...
Somerset Mayor Jeffrey Slavin has dropped his 61-year membership from the Woodmont Country Club in Rockville, MD over the controversy on whether the mostly Jewish club would allow POTUS to join.
Mayor Slavin ended his membership on Martin Luther King Jr. Day saying he could “no longer belong to a community where intolerance is accepted.”
In his resignation letter, he wrote:
“I can no longer belong to a community: where Intolerance is accepted, where History is forgotten, where Freedom of Speech is denied, and where the nation's first black president is disrespected.”
The Democrat mayor thanked the club for great memories and signed off his email,“Stay Woke.”
Ha!
To catch you up, members at the club have threatened legal action if POTUS is admitted into the club. They’re pissed over President Obama’s position and actions regarding Israel.
Speaking of MLK Day...
This is how "Underground" actress/new mom Jurnee Smollett Bell spent her MLK Day: playing softball! She said on Instagram, "Nylah is the leader of the pack. Happy #MLK day from our family to yours. #family #mytribe #softball"
And today...
Guess what today is?
Today marks First Lady Michelle Obama's 53rd birthday, her last birthday as First Lady.
POTUS served up some birthday sweetness to wish his first lady a very Happy Birthday:
