HOT 97’s Summer Jam went down in New Jersey last night even after the weather put a damper on things. Unfortunately for fans, Future’s headlining set got cancelled due to the storms, but other acts hit the main stage. Come inside for our recap….
Concertgoers were PISSED when HOT 97’s Summer Jam festival was shut down early last night. The MetLife Stadium in New Jersey was packed with fans to rock out with some of their faves.
Due to inclement weather, the Festival Stage was cancelled where acts like Chance the Rapper, Tory Lanez, Desiigner, and Post Malone never got the chance to perform. Later, the rain slowed up which delayed the concert severely, but the show went on.
Unfortunately for Future fans, they didn’t get to see their favorite performer hit the stage. The Atlanta rapper was the night’s top headliner, but didn’t perform due to New Jersey’s curfew law.
He hopped on Twitter to let his fans know he had nothing to do with the cancellation:
Ebro at Hot 97 responded:
MetLife told us to shut it off... https://t.co/cmSGPlzRrc

Then, Future came back to clear ish up (and not bite the radio hand that feeds him):
Well, Future fans can check him (and Drake) out when the "Summer Sixteen" tour hits Madison Square Garden in August.
Ebro also had words for people slamming Hot 97 for how they handled the weather drama and all the cancellations and delays:
Usher, Future & Chance all got cut due to time & weather... Dammit!

As for the acts that did hit the stage:
Rapper Maino, who was recently cleared in the Tory Ave shooting at Irving Plaza a few weeks ago, made a surprise appearance on the Summer Jam main stage to perform alongside rappers Uncle Murda and 2Milly. The entire MetLife Stadium parking lot was “milly rockin” along with the performers.
Kanye West was set to headline the Governors Ball Music Festival in NYC, but the festival was cancelled due to severe weather. Instead of heading home, Ye and G.O.O.D. Music --including Big Sean, Pusha T, Travis Scott, Desiigner& 2 Chainz, headed to Summer Jam. Get the deets on their performance and all of the madness that went down HERE.
A$AP Rocky hit the stage with his homie A$AP Ferg to perform his track “Work (Remix)” and they had the stage LIT...with strippers and all.
R&B crooner Bryson Tiller slowed things down a bit with his sultry tracks serenading the ladies with his vocals. He brought out rapper Fabolous to perform his single "Sorry Not Sorry" during his set.
Next up: Fat Joe and Remy Ma lit up the stage as they rocked out to their summer anthem “All The Way Up,” featuring French Montana.
Then this happened:
R&B singer Ashanti, showing off her cakes in a sparkly blue hooded bodysuit and blue knee high boots, joined Joe and Remy on stage for a Terror Squad reunion. The trio performed the 2001 hit “What’s Luv.”
After opening up for Beyonce at her Formation World Tour stop in Philly, DJ Khaled trekked it to the Summer Jam main stage for an epic performance with many of his rapper friends. He brought out Yo Gotti, Ty Dolla $ign, Rick Ross, Busta Rhymes, OT Genasis, The LOX, M.O.P. and Kent Jones during his set.
A shirtless Khaled ended up being the closing performance since the concert was shut down before Future could close the show. Tinashe, Young Thug and Kid Ink also missed out on hitting the stage.
Backstage....
Terror Squad! Shanti and Fat Joe stopped for a photo-op.
And here's how the "Foolish" singer made her way to the stage.
Remy and husband Papoose were giving #RelationshipGoal vibes backstage. Love them.
The Bronx raptress showed off her sic bod in a causal, yet stylish ensemble that included a Roberto Cavalli bomber jacker, Agent Provocateur top, Moschino leggings, and Buscemi sneakers.
Remy and Pap linked up with Busta Rhymes backstage.
After hitting the stage with Khaled, Busta and OT Genasis were spotted snapping flicks.
"Love & Hip Hop: New York" stars Yandy Smith and Bianca Bonnie (aka Lil B) were also vibin' out to tunes backstage.
