Angela Simmons and Romeo Miller star on a new reality show “Growing Up Hip Hop,” that they’re also executive producing. So, the twosome is on the promo trail.
Angela & Romeo stopped by Power 105's “The Breakfast Club” to chop it up about their new show and what fans can expect. If you haven’t checked out the first episode (that premiered last night), it’s quite obvious that Angela and Romeo have a certain vibe between them. While talking with the radio hosts, they admitted to having "amazing chemistry," but confirmed they never officially dated one another.
At one point, Romeo mentions his girlfriend Toneata Morgan, but it sounds like the two could have possibly called it quits. When talking about the chemistry he shares with Angela, he said, “At that time the person I was dating…” Hmm...
When asked if he broke up with Toneata, he said we’ll just have to watch the show. We scrolled through his Instagram page and we didn’t see any new pictures of him and her. We also checked out her IG and the last pic she posted of them was four months ago. And the last time they were spotted out together was back in October 2015. Hmph.
Angela Simmons then addressed what happened between her and Damon Dash during a heated discussion. SPOILER ALERT: If you haven’t watched the first episode, stop reading.
Angela and Dame got into a passionate conversation about “life’s struggles.” While Angela was stressing about her upcoming fashion show and complaining to anyone and everyone around her, Dame went in. But it's what she needed to hear. He said she didn’t really understand what a REAL struggle is due to growing up privileged. He said real struggle is surviving the streets and building an empire like the parents on the show, while dodging actual bullets and success being a necessity so their family could eat.
Here’s what Angela had to say about that:
“Not really an argument. He was talking and I was just listening. I just don’t think he understood where I was coming from and he didn’t let me speak. He just attacked me. I’m not going to disrespect anyone. I wasn’t raised to disrespect my elders, so I’m just going to sit there and I’m just going to listen. After a while I realized I wasn’t going to win that. He doesn’t know me. He doesn’t know my life.”
The Foofi creator also talked about rapper Yo Gotti and his huge crush on her. If you haven’t heard, the rapper is crushing hard on her and let the world know it in his song “Down In The DM.” He also came to event of hers and gifted her a beautiful bouquet of red roses. She said,
“He came to my event. He’s a nice guy and I’m flattered, but we’re not together.”
Romeo then opened up about his current struggle he’s going through with his parents, Master P and Sonya, going through a very public (and nasty) divorce. He said he feels caught in the middle, but he’ll never choose sides.
“It’s sad because I’m going through a very public divorce with my pops and my mom," Romeo said. “And people always talk about why are the kids getting involved, but they don’t understand the kids are the most involved. That’s just the truth. It sucks because as a kid you don’t want to and you never want to choose sides. And for me, I’m never going to choose sides.”
The young star said he made a mixtape titled Fighting Monsters because he feels everyone is going through something and that the tape would be something a lot of people could relate to.
He then opened up about not speaking to his mother in months:
“It’s sad. I haven’t talked to my mom in months. It’s been hard. It’s been months since I talked to my mom. That’s something I pray about everyday. That’s why I made this mixtape.”
That has to be hard.

Angela and Romeo have been making moves all around NYC on the press run for their new show. They was spotted leaving the AOL Build Studios recently. She looked amazing in a black crushed velvet Audacious & Feral midi dress and black Christian Louboutin pumps, while Romeo kept it cool in distressed jeans, a hoodie and a bomber jacket.
