Uzo Aduba is now a two-time Emmy winner! The fabulous "OITNB" star just walked off stage with her second Emmy. And this one's a history maker. More inside....
Moments ago, Uzo Aduba made history. Last year, the classically-trained opera singer burst onto the scene in the hit Netflix series "OITNB"" where she landed the breakout role Suzanne "Crazy Eyes" Warren. Of course, with her wide-ranging performance and complete grasp of the character, she'd go on to win the 2014 EMMY for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series.
But then things changed.....folks started to take "OITNB" more seriously and the execs in the writers room kept writing jokes but went more for drama this season. As a result, Uzo's work this season landed her in the "Drama" category and earlier tonight, she won the 2015 EMMY for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series.
In addition to being a two-time winner, she's in the history books as the first actress to win for same role in both the Comedy and Drama categories. #BlackExcellence
Congrats Uzo!
