Regina King took home an EMMY earlier tonight for her work on the hit ABC series "American Crime." More inside.....
Oh yes! The former child star, who first entered our lives alongside Marla Gibbs and Jackee Harry on "227", now has an Emmy to call her own.
Moments ago, she won the 2015 EMMY for Outstanding Supporting Actress In A Limited Series/Movie for her role on "American Crime."
Regina can now add her name to a short list of Black actresses who've come before her and also claimed the prize. Oliva Cole won the award in 1977 for her work in Roots, followed by Ester Rolle in 1979, Ruby Dee in 1991 and Cicely Tyson in 1994.
She's in great company and we see MANY, MANY accolades in her future.
Congrats Regina!
