Black women are not safe in America even when they're surrounded by men. And that was proven when a white man physically assaulted a young, black female McDonald's worker in St. Petersburg, FL recently.

On New Year's Eve, 40-year-old Daniel Willis got into a verbal altercation with a black female McDonald's employee. Why? That's unclear, but it's alleged it had something to do with a straw. Well, the white man got so upset, he lunged forward and GRABBED UP the woman worker across the counter in a video that has now gone viral.

Dude ran up on the wrong one because queen went to work on him with her own 8 piece, defending herself with punches to the man's face and body after he initially assaulted her from behind the cash register. Meanwhile, the entire McDonald's crew (men included) looked on as the fight went down before trying to break it up.

Not one man came to her defense. Instead, they grabbed HER as she tried to defend herself. The kicker? The supervisor finally makes an appearance and when he does, he tries to accommodate the customer!

After the fight, the white man is demanding the employee be "fired." Whet?! While he's carrying on about the woman needing to be fired, the young lady is heard yelling at the man that he's going to JAIL for putting his hands on her first. As he should.

Daniel Willis, of Clearwater, FL, was charged with two misdemeanor counts of simple battery.

As expected, folks are outraged over the video, with some calling for firing of the supervisor who didn't do a damn thing after the fight.

Not ones to let Meghan & Harry's Royal baby get all the limelight this spring, Kim& Kanye are also expecting a new baby in the coming months.  They wasted no time getting a surrogate pregnant with their last embryo, which Kim previously revealed is a boy.

People broke the news this morning, saying they confirmed a new Baby West will be joining big siblings Chicago, 1 this month, Saint, 3, and North, 5½.

TMZ just dropped further deets with the date saying,"We're told the baby is due in early May."

It's not yet known if they hired the same surrogate they used for Chicago, as the couple has been quite vocal about their affection for her and wanting to have her have their next baby as well.

Neither Kim nor Kanye has confirmed the news themselves, yet, but we're sure they have the perfect time planned out to do so. Maybe it's the trick they'll pull out of the hat the next time Kanye goes WAY off script on Twitter.  They are the royal family of deflection, afterall.

After partying it up at Story nightclub in Miami to ring in 2019, Meek Mill and some friends continued the New Year's festivities on the water in a luxurious yacht.

The 31-year-old daredevil rapper was all in when it came time to jet ski and he had his homies there to capture pics. When he decided to post a picture of himself on a jet ski with a chick behind him, he put a smiley face emoji over her face to conceal her identity. In the other shot he shared with the girl, you could only see her from behind.

Pregnancy rumors have started swirling and now Wendy Williams' husband Kevin Hunter is making moves. He's unloading his assets fast AF. More inside...

Whew, chile!

The drama with Wendy Williams and her husband Kevin Hunter continues. And it seems like he's making some pre-divorce moves, if the rumored divorce is happening. 

That house Kevin (his name is Kelvin Hunter on the paperwork) purchased for his alleged sidechick Sherina and her mother, the one that was staked out by Daily Mail last year and was how his alleged double life was discovered, was transferred right into a trust right after the story dropped.  Now, based on property records, he and/or the trust is selling that home for over $100K less than it was purchased for.  Short sale?  Hmm...

It's now being reported that Kevin Hunter has sold the 2nd home he shared with his alleged mistress, who is supposedly pregnant.

According to RadarOnline, Kevin quickly sold his luxe Fort Lee, NJ condo for nearly $500,000 on December 31st. And it's the 2nd home he has sold since news broke that Sharina may possibly be carrying his child.

The site reports:

A tax assessor confirmed to Radar on Wednesday, Jan. 2 that Hunter Opens a New Window. had owned the 2,300-square foot property since 2004. The condo featured a marble living room and formal dining room, wood burning fireplace and a master bedroom with a jacuzzi and personal sauna, according to its listing.

This is the second major asset Hunter has dumped in recent months. Radar reported that the massive Morristown mansion he allegedly lived in with his mistress is now for sale Opens a New Window.

A source revealed to Radar that Hunter and Hudson were already completely “moved out” of the Morristown property.

Word on the curb is that Wendy could possibly be drawing up divorce papers, so that explains why Kevin is trying to get rid of all his assets. Wendy and Kevin tied the knot in 1997 and share a son, Kevin Jr., who's in college. Over the last year or so, the 54-year-old daytime talk show host has been going through it on her show. She previously passed out on live television due to her diagnosis of Graves disease.

Last month, Wendy was cancelling shows at the last minute, then revealed she was on pain medication for a fractured shoulder. Right now, the show is on break. Hopefully, Wendy is resting up for a big return.

The musical performances that'll hit Coachella 2019 have been announced!  And there's no Kanye, and no RiRi, despite months of rumors.

Childish Gambino, Ariana Grande and Tame Impala will headline the three-day music and art festival in Indio, California. It's one of the biggest music festivals of the year that brings together some of the biggest music superstars.

Several of your faves will also be in the mix. Day 1 performances will include sets from Janelle Monae, Ella Mai, Jaden Smith, Tierra Whack, Juice WRLD, Anderson .Paak and more. Childish Gambino will serve up the closing performance.

Day 2 include performances by Solange, Wiz Khalifa, Idris Elba (y'all know he's a DJ), Kid Cudi, Virgil Abloh, Murda Beatz and more. Tame Impala will close out Day 2.

On Day 3, fans can expect to wild out to Khalid, H.E.R., YG, Playboi Carti, Pusha T, Bad Bunny and more with ArianaGrande hitting the Coachella stage for the first time to close the festival. The flyer listed "Gucci Gang" as a performer, which turns out to be a major typo. It's supposed to be Gucci Mane. Oop.

Before the official announcement, it was rumored that Kanye West would be returning to the Coachella stage, but it's not happening. The reason? 'Ye's stage set up is too complicated for the festival setting.

According to TMZ, Yeezy was in negotiations with Coachella, but that all went out the window when they couldn't agree on the stage production. 'Ye made it known to festival organizer Goldenvoice he was NOT going to perform on a traditional 60x40 foot stage. He said it was "artistically limiting." Oh. Since Goldenvoice isn't going to alter the stage, they mutually agreed to call off Kanye's performance.

“These 40×60 stages are so archaic,” a source close to the PABLO rapper told TMZ. “It’s the same type of stage on which Shakespeare’s works were performed hundreds of years ago.”

Sounds like this came straight from Kanye's mouth. As you know, for Kanye's "Saint Pablo Tour," he performed on a floating stage above the crowd.

By the way, Rihanna was also one of the rumored headliners since she's dropping a new album this year.

We're just three days into 2019 and foolishness is at an all time high. Rae Sremmurd's Slim Jxmmi got into a nasty brawl in New Zealand that resulted in someone getting stabbed! Sheesh. See footage of the fight, plus check out Cardi B's bedroom tips inside...

Welp. 2019 is starting off with some foolishness.

Slim Jxmmi - one half of rap duo Rae Sremmurd - got involved in an insane street brawl in the streets of New Zealand. And it was caught on video.

According to reports, the rapper and his crew were walking in downtown Auckland when a fight broke out. The reason? It supposedly started over someone recording video of them.

In the fight video, you can see Slim tussling with a group of men (and one female). It also appears a bodyguard was involved in the brawl. Sources on the scene tell TMZ they heard a bottle break and saw someone swinging it around as a weapon. Yikes!

After the scuffle, it's reported Slim spoke to police with blood on his body and one person was reportedly rushed to the Auckland City Hospital with stab wounds. As of now, it's unclear who did the stabbing or the condition of the victim.

Slim's rap partner Swae Lee was not involved.

Kat Tat made a dramatic exit from "Black Ink Crew Chicago" when she spilled the tea to her boss Ryan Henry's girlfriend Rachel that they had been sleeping together. Ish hit the fan and Kat vowed to never return to 9Mag. And she meant it.

Now, she's looking to make a TV comeback with her OWN show. Chick has moved from Chicago to LA and has opened her own shop, Enigma Tattoo. She has hired a team of tattoo artists and she's ready to showacase all of their talents on the small screen.

Idris Elba is returning to Netflix as a struggling DJ turned "man"anny.

The British hottie is starring in the Netflix comedy "Turn Up Charlie" seemingly based loosely on his real life as he is a disc jockey in real life. Makes sense. He also co-created the eight-part series.

Variety reports:

Co-created by Elba and Gary Reich, “Turn Up Charlie” sees Elba star as a struggling DJ and eternal bachelor, who is given a final chance at success when he reluctantly becomes a “manny” to his famous best friend’s problem-child daughter (Frankie Hervey). Piper Perabo and JJ Feild co-star. The cast also includes Angela Griffin, Guz Khan, Jocelyn Jee Esein, Jade Anouka, Cameron King and Dustin Demri-Burns.

The eight-part series is co-produced by Elba’s Green Door Pictures and Reich’s Brown Eyed Boy Productions, with Elba and Reich serving as executive producers alongside Tristram Shapeero. Shapeero directs the series with Matt Lipsey. Martin Joyce and Ana Garanito serve as co-executive producers.

We can't wait to see the Golden Globe winner in a comedy setting. "Turn Up Charlie" starts streaming on Netflix on March 15th.

Diddy is reportedly accusing Cassie of hooking up with her new trainer boo before Diddy and Cassie broke up.  And he's big mad.  Chile, the audacity.  Deets inside...

Diddy - who was previously seen hooking up with his children's mother on vacay while dating Cassie - is now calling out Cassie for allegedly cheating on him with her new man.  That's rich.

The mogul reportedly is telling folks there's some crossover where dates are concerned, and he's supposedly claims Cassie started dating Alex Fine before she and Diddy broke up.

Alex, interestingly, was hired and paid for by Diddy to train her last year.  Now, he feels betrayed.  TMZ reports:

Diddy's trainer, Jamal Liggin, got so busy he hired several trainers as backup, including Alex Fine. Diddy tagged Alex to train Cassie over the last year.

As we reported, Diddy and Cassie broke up several months ago after a decade-long relationship, but our sources claim Cassie and Alex hooked up before the split. We're told what especially galls Diddy ... he paid Alex to train his then-girlfriend and feels betrayed.

The father of 6 has also been adjusting to becoming a full-time dad to his twin girls and son Christian, after the tragic death of their motherKim Porter.  He's also been stepping up even more for Justin and Quincy, who he also treats as his son.

Tonight, the 6-part "Surviving R.Kelly" docu-series begins airing. And there's plenty of drama accompanying it. Get it all inside...

R.Kelly's lawyers are NOT happy about tonight's series that tells the stories - in their own words - of the women who have accused R.Kelly of sexual abuse.

Like the "12 Play" singer has been claiming for years, his legal team says the docu-series is "all lies."   They fired off a cease and desist and a threat to sue the network if they air it.  Lifetime is airing it anyway.  In full.

Not only will accusers like his ex-wife Andrea Kelly and former protegé Sparkle be heard, but people from the singer's inner circle are coming forward for the first time as well.  TMZ reports:

Kelly's lawyer, Brian Nix, fired off a legal letter -- obtained by TMZ -- warning the network that its "Surviving R. Kelly" documentary is packed with lies. Nix threatens to file a federal lawsuit Thursday -- the same day Lifetime's set to air the special -- if the network doesn't relent.

....

Kelly's calling BS ... saying the subjects made false allegations to become famous. What's more ... Kelly says he has 2 audio recordings -- 5 minutes in duration -- that show Lifetime knew "some of the girls are lying, but that the budget was too high to turn back now."

Lifetime has now put out a statement, dubling down on their decision to air:

Despite receiving a scathing cease and desist letter, a Lifetime rep tells TMZ ... the first part of its 6-part documentary will air tonight as scheduled at 9 PM ET/PT.

The rep adds ... "Lifetime has always been a brand that champions women’s stories." Not hard to read between the lines ... the network believes the women.

One of the doc's producer, Dream Hampton, is also speaking out.  The writer (who previously edited/wrote Jay-Z's Decoded) says that she reached out to her celeb friends to be involved, and only John Legend agreed to speak on camera.

 

“John Legend was the only one," who participated, hampton said. “I asked Jay-Z, I asked Mary J. Blige, I asked Lil Kim, Erykah Badu, Dave Chappelle..." But they all said no. “I mean, most people just don't want to touch it. I remember Ahmir["Questlove" Thompson] was like, 'I would do anything for you but I can't do this.' It's not because they support him, it's because it's so messy and muddy. It's that turning away that has allowed this to go on."

Dream also explained to Shadow+Act why the whole "R.Kelly situation" is virtually impossible to navigate and make transparent:

“There are whole systems in place: housing, runners, rules," hampton said. “There are women decades apart testifying to the kind of rules that they were subjected to living with this man, dealing with this man; there are hundreds, probably thousands of tapes made of them [by R. Kelly] without their permission. He's also deeply manipulative; these are women who didn't know each other, 20 years apart, and they'd be talking about being made to sign false confessions and he'd say, 'This is my insurance that you don't hurt me the way these other women have hurt me.' So, I knew we were dealing with someone that we may not want to dismiss. He's dangerous," hampton said.

Questlove, who has been publicly promoting the docu-series, responded. And so did Dream, again:

Meanwhile, a backup dancer named Jovante Cunningham alleges in the first parts of the docu-series that she saw a then 15-year-old Aaliyah and the 27-year-old R.Kelly having sex.

In the first episode, Cunningham described what she purportedly witnessed between the two while on tour. "We were out on the road with Aaliyah," she said. "On a tour bus, there really aren't many confined spaces. When you get on the bus there are bunks and so these bunks have little curtains you can pull at night if you don't want anybody to see you sleeping."

She explained that people on tour were "laughing" and at one moment, "The door flew open on the bus. Robert was having sex with Aaliyah." R. Kelly's real name is Robert Sylvester Kelly.

What she apparently saw amounted to "Things that an adult should not be doing with a child."

Aaliyah's mother, Diane Haughton, responded yesterday via E! News, saying she and her late husband were always with her, and that this was all a lie.

"The woman and so-called back up singer that describes seeing, meeting or ever breathing the same air as my daughter, Aaliyah, is lying and is a liar," Haughton said in a statement to E! News. "My husband and I were always on tour with her and at interviews and every place she went throughout her entire career. Whoever this woman is, I have never seen her before anywhere on planet earth, until now."

Haughton then called Cunningham's claims "lies and fabrications" that "can not be tolerated and allowed to be spewed from the forked tongues of saboteurs of Aaliyah's legacy."

She continued, "My daughter only wanted to realize her dream of sharing her talent with the world, and give her all performing on stage and in front of the camera for the fans she adored so much. She realized that dream, thanks to those true fans who still love and support her legacy unconditionally to this day. Shame on all those involved in this project who thought it kosher to drag Aaliyah's name into a situation that has nothing to do with her today. Once again, this will not be tolerated."

As for that rumored marriage between the late Aaliyah and R.:

One of R. Kelly's former personal assistants Demetrius Smith claims in the Lifetime series that the "Ignition" rapper and Aaliyah got married when she was 15. Smith said he got "papers forged for them when Aaliyah was underage."

Aaliyah passed away in 2001 at age 22.

The New Year just started and Michael B. Jordan already has us hot and bothered. Same ish, different year.

The Black Panther actor has been named the first global face of Coach's menswear label and he fronts the fashion house's Spring 2019 campaign.

In the shoot (shot by photographer Craig McDean), the 31-year-old heartthrob captures the cool optimism of the Coach Guy in a series of images set “backstage” at a faded carnival.

Folks may have a love-hate relationship with him and his perceived dating preferences, but um, yeah.  He's still fine.

Shot in a sunlit desert landscape outside of LA, MBJ models on a vintage car, dressed in a colorblock shearling jacket, a blue leather moto and a patchwork leather MA-1. The campaign also stars the new season’s hero bags, including the Signature Rivington Backpack, the Rivington Belt Bag and the Metropolitan Carryall.

NFL player Reuben Foster just got off on domestic violence charges for the 2nd time in less than a year. Find out why inside...

NFL star Reuben Foster is thanking his lucky stars after he was let off the hook on domestic charges yet again.

The Washington Redskins linebacker was scheduled to appear in court today (Jan. 3rd) for an arraignment in Hillsborough County, FL after he was brought up on a misdemeanor domestic violence charge stemming from a Nov. 24th altercation that involved his ex-girlfriend, Elissa Ennis.

However, the State Attorney's Office in Florida dismissed the charge on Jan. 2nd after the notice of termination of prosecution was filed.  Even after these pics of her alleged abuse surfaced.

So, what happened?

Turns out, prosecutors realized they wouldn't have a strong case due to Elissa Ennis' credibility. They reportedly concluded that there wasn't enough evidence to file charges against the NFLer after "a meticulous review of the facts of the case," saidEstella Gray, director of communications for the State Attorney's Office.

The 24-year-old linebacker was cut from the San Francisco 49ers hours after the incident - the night before the 49ers were set to play the Buccaneers in Tampa.

So here's what happened that night...

An altercation broke out after Elissa threatened to tell Reuben's new girlfriend he paid to fly her out to the 49ers' team hotel in Tampa Bay. Elissa spoke out about the incident, appearing on "Good Morning America" in early December to explain what went down that night.

TMZ got ahold of the 911 call where she alleged Reuben "took my phone [and broke it] ... slapped me in my face and threatened me." She later repeated, "He took my phone and broke it and slapped me in my face," according to the site. You can check out pictures of her injuries from the incident here.

By the way, this wasn't the first time the NFL player was arrested for allegedly assaulting her. He was charged with several felonies for allegedly assaulting Elissa around this time last year.

Back in February 2018, Elissa went on the stand against Reuben and told the judge she made up the story as revenge for him breaking up with her. In court, she reportedly said she lied in court because she thought Reuben loved her, so she wanted to protect him. Sighs...

The judge eventually dismissed all of the charges in the previous case.

Elissa admitted to lying on the stand in court, but when she appeared on "GMA," she said she lied about lying on the stand. Girl!

In her defense, we have no idea why she initially (allegedly) lied.  She could have been threatened, in shock, or actually telling the truth.

So yeah, you can see why prosecutors would have a hard time proving without a reasonable doubt that he was guilty.

"We're disappointed. The prosecutor's choice is yet another slap in the face to Miss Ennis, just like the one Mr. Foster gave her in Tampa," Ennis' attorney, Adante Pointer, told ABC News. "Elissa Ennis was fully ready to participate and hold him accountable. This is not a situation where she recanted, nor that the prosecutor had new evidence that it didn't happen."

Reuben is no stranger to getting in trouble with the law. Outside of these domestic violence charges, he was also arrested for misdemeanor marijuana possession last January. He served a two-game suspension at the start of the 2018 season. The charges were eventually dropped after he finished a first-time-offender diversion course.

Kevin Hart is having a change of heart about hosting the 2019 Oscars. The "evaluation" comes after Ellen DeGeneres called up the Academy to champion for Kevin to return as host. More inside...

Will Kevin Hart hit the stage to host the 91st Annual Academy Awards next month? Last month, Kevin announced he was stepping down as host after 10-year-old homophobic tweets resurfaced. Now, it's up in the air as to whether or not the comedian will host the ceremony.

Appearing on today's episode of the "Ellen DeGeneres Show," the Night School actor revealed he was "evaluating" whether he should host the show. The daytime host has been championing for the comedian to host this year's Oscar Awards after he stepped down. Ellen - who hosted the Oscars in 2014 - called up The Academy to ask them if they would consider reinstating Kevin.

You'll recall, when the resurfaced tweets began making headlines, Kevin revealed the Oscars asked him to apologize and if he didn't, then they would have to find another host. The Jumanji actor decided to apologize, but he stepped down as the host as to not overshadow the Oscar winners.

"I called the Academy today because I really want you to host the Oscars. I was so excited when I heard that they asked you," Ellen told Kevin. "I thought it was an amazing thing. I knew how important it was and how it was a dream.

She continued, "So I called them, I said 'Kevin's on. I have no idea if he wants to come back and host. What are your thoughts?' They said 'We want him to host, whatever we can do, we would be thrilled. The Academy is saying what can we do to make this happen?"

Later, Kevin said he would "assess" whether he was interested in returning as host.

"Leaving here, I promise you I'm evaluating this conversation," he told Ellen. "This is a conversation I needed to have. I'm glad that I had it here. ... Let me asses, just sit in a space and really think and you and I will talk before anything else."

Ellen is fiercely defending the comedian.

“As a gay person, I am sensitive to all of that," she said. "You’ve already expressed that it's not being educated on the subject, not realizing how dangerous those words are, not realizing how many kids are killed for being gay or beaten up every day. You have grown, you have apologized, you are apologizing again right now. You’re done it. Don’t let those people win — host the Oscars.”

The global superstar said the recent attack against him is BIGGER than just the Oscars...it was an attack against his livelihood.

"There's a flip side. To any attack, there's another side. There's a 'B' side. On my side, openly, I'm wrong for my past words. I said it. I understand that. I know that. My kids know when their dad messes up, I'm in front of it because I want to be an example, so they know what to do. In this case, it's tough for me because it was an attack. This wasn't an accident. This wasn't a coincidence. It wasn't a coincidence that the day after I received the job that tweets just somehow manifested from 2008. I'm on social media every day. I have over 40,000 tweets. To go through 40,000 tweets to get back to 2008, that's an attack. That's a malicious attack on my character. That's an attack to end me. That's not an attack to just stop the Oscars. That's an attack to end me."

He continued, "This was to destroy me. This was to end all partnerships, all brand relationships, all investment opportunities, studio relationships, my production company and the people who worked underneath me. This was to damage the lives that have been invested in me. It's bigger than just the Oscars. It's about the individuals who are out there now that are finding success in damage. Defining success damaging your quote-unquote celebrity."

By the way, the instances where Kevin addressed his problematic statements were not necessarily apologies for his past sentiments.  He simply says how he thinks NOW about the lives of the people in the LGBTQ community.  And that he doesn't tolerate hate.

Yasmine James - the black female McDonald's worker who beat down a white man who grabbed her up - is now speaking out after lawyering up with two black female attorneys. Find out how Yasmine is doing after the altercation and her next steps inside....

No one in McDonald's - including her male co-workers and male supervisor - helped employee Yasmine James when a white man assaulted her as she stood behind the cash register. One co-worker lightly pushed the custmer away AFTER she beat him down, but that's about it.  However, she now has a strong team of black women behind her that are working to bring justice after the horrific situation.

The 20-year-old fast food worker is speaking out about what happened to her on New Year's Eve inside a St. Petersbug, FL McDonald's that resulted in her beating down a 40-year-old white man (named Daniel Taylor) AFTER he grabbed her by the shirt over a straw. Yep, he was pissed because the young, black woman didn't give him a straw and didn't "obey" him. The altercation was caught on camera by a customer and has since gone viral.

Now, Yasmine is speaking out about the ordeal for the first time after she lawyered up with two black female attorneys, Michele Rayner-Goolsby and Shannon Ligon.

The young Florida native has spoken to several news outlets about the disrespect she has endured since starting the fast food job just three months ago. After graduating from St. Petersburg in 2017, Yasmine has been working towards her dreams of becoming a nurse or social worker one day.

While Yasmine clearly held her own, she shared with The Grio she was horrified after the male customer grabbed her by the collar.

“It really scared me when he grabbed me. I didn’t know if he had a knife, a gun or anything,” Yasmine told the site. “He assaulted me, but he also kicked another girl in the stomach on his way out. He should’ve gotten more than a misdemeanor. To me that won’t teach him a lesson at all.“

Understandable.

Daniel Taylor was arrested and charged with two simple counts of battery after Yasmine called the police on him. You read that right. SHE was the one to call the police since NO ONE ELSE thought that would have been the right thing to do. Yasmine's legal team claim Daniel Taylor actually called the police too, and said HE was the one being "attacked by black people." He TRIED it, but that's what they do. Cause drama, then play victim.  Thank god for video.

“So when he grabbed me, in my mind I was just like ‘get off of me.’ My thing was to just get him off of me the best way I could because I didn’t know what he was going to do to me,” Yasmine told ESSENCE.

Then there's this: The man got irate since Yasmine didn't give him a straw. According to TampaBay.com, there's a new policy in St. Petersburg, FL. to ban single-use plastic straws. A full ban will be going in effect by 2020. As the policy stands now, establishments are not to give out any straws unless requested by a customer.

“No one, especially a woman of color, should have to go through this at their place of business. No one should have to do it,” Yasmine's attorney Michele Rayner-Goolsby told ESSENCE. “That shows that we can’t even do the daily task without being attacked.”

Where is the lie?

Contrary to the rumors that have been circulating online, Yasmine has NOT been fired from her position. However, she hasn't been back since the incident on New Year's Eve as she's on leave.

After the altercation, Yasmine said her manager seemed clueless as to how to handle the situation. (We could tell.)  She said McDonald's needs to set new policies in place to better handle situations like these that are actually common at her store.

“I was just really upset,” the 20-year-old told ESSENCE. “No one knew what to do. They didn’t know if to go back to work, they were just shocked and I think there should be something in place for things like that.”

She continued, “It makes you feel very alone,” she said, especially since the white man was allowed to remain in the building even after the altercation. “I didn’t know if he was going to attack me again.”

“I don’t think people took it so seriously,” Yasmine told The Grio. “Just because I am a Black woman and he was a white man that assaulted me. Like, ‘Okay, she fought this man, lets go back to work. Don’t call the police because this is normal.’ It was just going to go under the rug,” she explained. "I didn’t like that feeling. To me it’s like if I didn’t call the police, if I didn’t do anything, who would have? I just felt like I was left alone, on my own.”

In a press release shared by her attorneys, Yasmine said it hurt that none of her co-workers stepped in to help her defend herself.

“I am not only physically hurt, but I am emotionally hurt that I was left to defend myself even as I was surrounded by my co-workers and other bystanders. “I am so grateful for the outpouring of support I have received from all around the country. I am aware this type of violence happens to women, especially Black women, everyday. For me, this was ‘the last straw.' I am committed to using this horrible experience as means to fight for justice, not only for myself but for other women experiencing this kind of violence in environments where they should be safe and protected.”

Just because black women have a "superwoman" aura does not mean we wear the cape by choice.  We're human too.

Your new weekend bops just dropped.  Chris Brown taps Serayah to help him dance it up at a carnival and gives us all the throwback feels.  Plus, Future mumbles his way into his new era with "Crushed Up."  We've got the vids and new album dates inside...

Breezy's back with a new track and accompanying visuals that give us Shanice "I Love Your Smile" vibes.

His new track, "Undecided", produced by Scott Storch (where's HE been?!) is the first official single from Chris Brown's upcoming 9th studio album Indigo.  he and "Empire" & "DWTS" star Serayah busts some moves while getting their flirtationship on at a carnival.  The track samples Shanice's epic throwback hit "I Love Your Smile", so the visuals give us that after school special vibe we used to love.

When Chris drops Indigo in 2019, the album will mark his first release under a new license agreement with his long-time label home, RCA Records.

On another track that also dropped today, Future mumbles his way into a new single and snowglobe-like video, “Crushed Up”.

The video kicks off with a young Future peering into a snow globe, then the setting flips from a trap house to a wild wonderland. According to Future's team, the visual captures the track’s outsized ambition with otherworldly exposition and psychedelic energy.

The 90's are def in full effect again throughout. Future's giving bright, puffy coats, stripper poles in mansions, and super small sunglasses. Check it above.

"Crushed Up" marks his first new solo album since the success of the 2017 albums Future and Hndrxx and the multiplatinum banger "Mask Off."  His seventh album is set to drop January 18th.

By the way, he's got an Official Documentary, The WIZRD, dropping on the 11th.  It will debut exclusively worldwide on Apple Music, and will follow the rapper closely, peeking into corners of his world never-seen-before—until now.  We wonder which chicks in his harem will make the cut...

"black-ish" added another fresh face its roster, and now we get to see the first look at Quvenzhané Wallis in her new role.

The Oscar nominated actress nabbed a recurring role on the hit ABC comedy series where she will play Kyra, Dre's young cousin who comes to live with him and his family since her mother can no longer care for her.

She already looks like trouble for the Johnsons. Ha! 

The episode, titled “Waltz in A Minor,” will introduce Q's character after she's taken in by Dre (Anthony Anderson) and his wife Bow (Tracee Ellis Ross). However, the couple has "different approaches to helping her adjust to suburban life,” according to ABC via Entertainment Weekly.

We previously predicted Q's character was going to shake up the Johnson household. And we were right.

Meanwhile, Dre and Bow's twins Jack (Miles Brown) and Diane (Marsai Martin) do some social media snooping to try and get more information about her.

Actress Jenifer Lewis shared a funny video with her "black-ish" co-star Tracee Ellis Ross amid rumors that they have been fighting on the set. It was reported the ladies were not getting along off-camera and that their alleged feud caused production to shut down earlier this week. Well, from the looks of the video, it appears everything's all good between them. Peep the clip above.

Q's episode is expected to air January 22nd at 9pm EST on ABC.

21-year-old Anok Yai went from strolling through the yard during Howard University's Homecoming, to copping a model contract, and then covering ELLE magazine's January 2019 issue. In that order! The perfect fashion feat to kick off the New Year.

The former biochemistry student from New Hampshire’s Plymouth State University was slaying all through HU's 2017 Homecoming festivities when photographer SUNK captured her beauty through his lens and put it up on his social media account. The image quickly went viral.

Next thing you know, the Sudanese-Egyptian college student, who is one of five children, was getting offers like crazy! She got booked for Prada’s fall 2018 show, as well as its spring and pre-fall 2018 campaigns.

“My art professor told me I should withdraw, otherwise she’d fail me for all the absences,” Yai dished to the magazine. “But, my chemistry professor encouraged me to pursue this, joking that it would be a far more lucrative path.”

Of course, her parents - who fled from their native Sudan to the States to escape the civil war when Anok (who was born in Egypt) was about four - weren't thrilled about her putting he education on hold for modeling.

"You’re telling me that someone wants to pay for your flight to L.A., pay for your hotel, and then pay you to take photos? It’s a scam!” she said her father insisted.

Once they saw her image on a billboard, they came around, and Anok was able to fully embrace her new career path.

Chick is booked, busy, and securing that bag as well. She's a face of Estée Lauder and has modeled in several magazines since signing a contract with NEXT model management in NYC. She's already making history too. The YBF model became the second black woman to ever open a show for Prada, a feat only accomplished by none other than Naomi Campbell. YAS!

While the gorgeous melanated beauty is newbie in the fashion game, she's already using her platform to champion for more diverity in the fashion industry. She finds pride in persuading designers to allow her to walk the runway in cornrows or an afro. She also advocates for fashion teams to hire hairdressers trained in doing different hair textures. We stan a queen who advocates for us all!

Another night, another Golden Globes win for Regina King!  This time, she had a bomb promise for everybody.

Regina King won big once again at Sunday night's Golden Globes.  She won for Best Supporting Actress for her role in If Beale Street Could Talk, and when her name was called, chick had a super cute moment with her son, and then an epic moment with the world.
