Young, black Hollywood will be getting honored during this year's Hollywood Film Awards, and rightfully so. Amandla Stenberg and John David Washington KILLED it in their respective projects this year and they'll be awarded for all of the hard work and dedication they put into their roles.

Amandla Stenberg, who coves TIME magazine's latest issue, will be recognized with the “Hollywood Breakout Performance Actress Award” for 20th Century Fox’s The Hate U Give, while John David Washington, son of Denzel Washington, will receive the “Hollywood Breakout Performance Actor Award” for his role in Focus Features’ BlacKKKlansman at the 22nd Annual Hollywood Film Awards.

The ceremony will take place on Sunday, November 4th at the Beverly Hilton Hotel.

Congrats Amandla and John! Hella deserved.

In new movie news...

Gabrielle Union is gearing up to bring the teens a new film. And we all know Gabby isn't a stranger to the young adult film world. Her breakout role was on cult classic Bring It On. She also starred in pop culture hits, She’s All That and 10 Things I Hate About You.

Now, she's working behind-the-scenes with her production company, I'll Have Another Productions, on a new movie catered to the young crowd. The "Being Mary Jane" star just nabbed the rights to Juleah Del Rosario’s debut novel, "500 Words Or Less," a young adult fiction which will be adapted into a feature.

Deadline serves up the deets:

Written entirely in verse, the book, which was released last week via Simon Pulse, centers on Nic Chen, a Chinese-American high school senior who attempts to salvage her reputation among her Ivy League-obsessed classmates by writing their college admission essays and in the process learns big truths about herself.

“I am such a fan of young adult stories in general but this novel really got me. It is beautifully written entirely in verse and the exploration of identity and what that means to you and those around you is something that my production company is focused on exploring with all the stories we choose to tell. This one really hit home and I’m excited to be part of bringing it to life as accurately as we possibly can,” stated Union.

All parties are out to writers in an effort to bring this story to the screen in an authentic fashion.

Another YBF chick with a new project...

After wrapping up Life in a Year, Nia Long is gearing up for another role that'll hit the big screen. The YBF actress - who looks AMAZING at 47 - will be joining Samuel L. Jackson and Anthony Mackie in The Banker, a fact based drama that Nolfi wrote with Niceole Levy.

Deadline reports Romulus Entertainment is financing the film, with Brad Feinstein of Romulus (Fences, Beatriz at Dinner) producing.

Here are the roles everyone will be playing:

The drama is based on the true story of two African American entrepreneurs, Bernard Garrett (Mackie) and Joe Morris (Jackson), who during the 1950’s tried to circumvent the racial limitations of the era and take on the establishment by recruiting a working class white man, Matt Steiner (Hoult) and training him to pose as the head of their business empire while they posed as a janitor and a chauffeur. Bernard’s wife Eunice (Nia Long), plays a key role in setting up the enterprise. Garrett and Morris become two of the wealthiest and most successful real estate owners in the country with Steiner as their front man, but their success brings about unforeseen risk of exposure that threatens everything.

Nolfi last directed the Bruce Lee pic Birth of The Dragon and before that The Adjustment Bureau after scripting such dramas as The Bourne Ultimatum and Ocean’s Twelve. The film is just underway in Atlanta. Also producing are Joel Viertel, Nolfi, Nnamdi Asomugha, Jonathan Baker and Mackie. As financier, Romulus just wrapped the Max Winkler-directed Jungleland, with Charlie Hunnam, Jack O’Connell, and Jessica Barden starring.

Two black entrepreneurs on the big screen? Yep. We're going to see it when it hits theaters.

“Kevin and Diddy both separately did a birthday speech with a toast wishing Usher happy birthday and for ‘blessing this Earth’ with his talent,” a source told Page Six. “[Diddy] said he was very proud to have known him since he was a teenager. It was such a beautiful celebration.”

The 47-year-old actress jumped out of a plane and it was all for her hubby Will Smith.

Apparently, Will asked Jada to jump out a plan in Dubai as a gift for his 50th birthday and she accepted. She jumped on the daredevil opportunity following Will bungee jumping out of a plane over the Grand Canyon.

“He said this is my birthday gift to him. He was like, ‘I want you to come to Dubai and I want to see the two of you skydive That is what I want for my birthday,’” Jada told PEOPLE. “I was like, ‘Really bro?’ I haven’t done a damn thing Will has wanted me to do in seven years!” she continued.

Rapper Meek Mill is gearing up to hit the big screen! And it's his first studio feature.

He'll be joining Teyonah Parris (Chi-raq), Jahi Winston ("New Edition Story") and Will Catlett ("Love Is_") in a feature adaptation of 12 O'Clock Boys, a 2013 documentary by Lotfy Nathan. Jada will be producing the film under her Overbrook Entertainment banner along with Sony.

Deadline reports:

Barry Jenkins penned the initial draft for the script, with rewrites from Sherman Payne. The pic centers on Mouse (Winston), a young boy who wants nothing more than to be a part of the Midnight Clique, a tough group of Baltimore bike riders who rule the summertime streets. As he navigates the challenges of coming of age in a complicated world, he learns the hard way that the choices you make early on can change your life forever.

Mill plays the leader of the Midnight Clique and a legend in the eyes of Mouse.

In addition, Meek, who has his own battles with the justice system, has teamed with Amazon Prime Video and Jay Z’s Roc Nation for a six-part documentary series that will follow his fight for exoneration while exposing flaws in the criminal justice system.

Cassie is officially single, and her longtime boyfriend Diddy has allegedly hopscotched over to an IG model.  You either think this is the best case scenario or worst case scenario for Cassandra.  We're going with both.

We haven't seen Diddy and Cassie together in a while, and now we know why. They're dunzo. Cassie's rep now tells B. Scott:

“They are indeed no longer together and haven’t been for months.”

Months? Interesting, since the last time we spotted them together was just 3 weeks ago (below) on their date night at Catch LA.

Chile, umpteen years later, singer/actress/model Cassie is ringless...and babyless.  And we don't even see this as a complete loss, TBH.

News broke last night that Diddy has already started smashing IG model Jocelyn Crawford who, in typical Diddy fashion, looks vaguely similar to his new ex.

Folks move on SO quick. The internet is split on the spit, naturally. Diddy has said multiple times that he does not want to get married.  He has no qualms about making beautiful babies though.  Some say Cassie wasted her time - like folks told her she would do - and some say she won.

We've got a new teaser and sneak peek into some bomb projects featuring Keke Palmer and Taraji P. Henson. Also, we've got deets about a Twitter saga that's being turned into a movie, starring Taylour Paige, and Nick Cannon's brand new late night series. Everything inside...

Keke Palmer has been talking about the PIMP indie film for a while now and it's finally coming into fruition.

The 25-year-old actress just released a teaser for her upcoming film PIMP, executive produced by Lee Daniels.

In the film (set to hit theaters Nov. 9th), Keke plays a struggling lesbian pimp named Wednesday whose fortune changes after her girlfriend Nikki (Haley Ramm) hits the streets. But when Wednesday comes face to face with another pimp (Edi Gathegi), who plays a much more dangerous game, her dreams of ever escaping the life are put at risk.

The Brotherly Love actress said she wanted to do this role because these are characters in a society that are often marginalized in real life and in film as well. Although, we are starting to see characters like Wednesday occasionally in film, these roles are never the lead or supporting.

“The movie takes place in the Bronx, N.Y., and my character, Wednesday, it kind of paints the picture of her life,” Keke explained to EW. “Her mother was a prostitute, her father was a pimp, and that’s the only world she knows. The movie is really a coming-of-age love story with a backdrop of the pimp industry.”

So how did she come across this role in the first place?

“I heard about this project when I was coming out of doing a lot of kid work,” she said. “I’d just turned 18, I’d been working a lot with Nickelodeon and Disney Channel, and I really was looking for some cool, interesting projects that could give me the opportunity to show different female characters. I wanted to do something different and give a voice to a character that really doesn’t often get a voice. So, I came across this script Pimp and I loved it, and I thought it was going to be challenging, so I immediately wanted to try and get an audition. I couldn’t get one because they said they weren’t really sure it was something that would be a good fit for me. So, I went to my old neighborhood and a created a documentary-style acting tape, and I sent it in, and that’s why I got the role. And that tape was used to help us get the money to make the film.”

The film will feature DMX, Aunjanue Ellis, Vanessa Morgan, Mike E. Winfield, and Edi Gathegi.

PIMP will hit theaters and will be released on demand (via Vertical Entertainment) on November 9th. Peep the trailer below:

Taraji P. Henson is about to snatch our wig and edges with this role.

She's stripping the makeup, the long bundles and flashy outfits for a raw role in The Best Of Enemies, a film about desegregating North Carolina schools in the early 1970s.

The Huffington Post shares details about the film:

Based on a true story, the film focuses on Ann Atwater (Henson), a mother and civil rights activist, who is trying to desegregate schools in Durham, North Carolina, in 1971 after her daughter’s all-black elementary school burns down. Atwater is forced to team up with C.P. Ellis (Sam Rockwell), a local Ku Klux Klan leader, to unite the feuding city.

“Same God made you made me,” Henson says to Rockwell in the trailer.

C.P. Ellis’ character seems to be well suited for Rockwell, who recently won Best Supporting Actor for his portrayal of a racist cop in 2017 film “Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri.”

The Best Of Enemies is directed by Hunger Games producer Robin Bissell, and co-stars Babou Ceesay, Anne Heche and Wes Bentley.

Former "Hit The Floor" actress Taylour Paige has a new job!  She's set to play the lead in the a24 indie studio film titled, ZOLA.

The Hollywood Reporter has all the details:

Then-20-year-old Aziah Wells, aka Zola, rose to internet infamy when she chronicled, 140 characters at a time, a wild 48-hour odyssey with an exotic dancer, the dancer’s boyfriend and a pimp. The funny and suspenseful story was co-signed on Twitter by the likes of Ava DuVernay and Missy Elliott.

Bravo wrote the screenplay with playwright Jeremy O. Harris, Andrew Neel and Mike Roberts based on Wells' life and the Rolling Stone magazine piece "Zola Tells All: The Real Story Behind the Greatest Stripper Saga Ever Tweeted."

Production on Zola is set to begin this fall.

Nick Cannon and his longtime manager, Michael Goldman, have partnered up with FOX and they're currently developing a late night talk show series.

According to THR, the untitled project would be hosted by Nick where he will cover pop culture and serve up high-profile celebrity interviews, musical performances and even stand-up comics. It'll be a weekly show since Nick is finishing up his master's degree at Howard University.

The "Wild 'N Out" host and his manager will also executive produce the project alongside Davies' Embassy Row banner. And YES, he will reportedly rock his turban on the show, unlike when he hosted "America's Got Talent."

TMZ reports:

Sources close to the situation tell TMZ ... Nick will rock his signature headgear without concern or pushback from the network. That wasn't the case in the latter part of his nearly 10-year run as host of "America's Got Talent" on NBC.

Sources said the Peacock Network wasn't jibing with his look on 'AGT,' and unleashed its wrath on him over a "black card" joke he made during a Showtime comedy special.

You're going to need to sit down for this story. Former Atlanta Falcons player Justin Crawford has been arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting a 12-year-old, who is in some form related to him. His wife caught him with his pants down in front of the child. The disturbing details are inside...

This is likely the most disturbing and disgusting story we've come across this year.

Former Atlanta Falcons player Justin Crawford was arrested over the weekend on several charges that involve him allegedly having sex with a 12-year-old girl, who is related to him in some capacity.

The 23-year-old former Hardaway High School football star was arrested in Columbus, GA and hit with a slew of felony charges after his wife, Chakeya Crawford, caught him in a compromising position with 12-year-old in the living room of their home. He has been charged with aggravated child molestation, incest, sodomy, and enticing a child for indecent purposes.

The former West Virginia University football player is being held without bond in the Muscogee County Jail. Thankfully.

The Columbus Ledger-Enquirer reported the disturbing details below:

During Crawford’s preliminary hearing Monday, police said his wife awoke at 5 a.m. Saturday and walked into her living room, where she saw her husband had an erection as he stood over a 12-year-old girl.

The wife went back to sleep in their home off Wynnton Road, but she did not rest easy, worrying about what she had seen, Detective Mark Scruggs testified in Columbus Recorder’s Court.

Crawford’s wife Chakeya Crawford called the Ledger-Enquirer later Monday to object to that account. She said that when she came downstairs and saw her husband in the living room, he had no erection that she noticed, but his penis was exposed, and he immediately ran from the living room into the kitchen to cover up.

“I did not see anyone having sex, or I would have called police right away,” she said.

She said she questioned her husband, who told her, “You scared me. That’s why I ran.” He denied any wrongdoing, and she initially gave him the benefit of the doubt, she said. Because it was 5 a.m., she decided to go back to bed and revisit the matter later, she said.

Later she took the 12-year-old to the child’s mother, who asked what had happened. That’s when the girl reported she had been asleep in the living room when Crawford came in and had her perform oral sex on him before they had intercourse, Scruggs said.

The girl was taken for a medical exam that included compiling a “sex assault kit” to collect any DNA evidence, Scruggs said.

Detectives grilled Justin Crawford about his encounter with the child and, at first, he said he never had sexual contact with the girl. After further questioning he came clean, admitting he DID, in fact, have sex with the 12-year-old child, , but claimed the sex was her idea.

Just DISGUSTING!!! By the way, Justin and Chakeya have two young sons together. They tied the knot in 2015.

Crawford was signed to the Atlanta Falcons as an undrafted free agent in May and was released in September after playing in several pre-season games. He was then picked up by the Atlanta Legends of the Alliance of American Football league. According to Atlanta's WXIA-TV, the team has since dropped him from the team following his arrest.

Shonda Rhimes is the baddest in the TV game and she wants everyone to know it. Not because she wants to gloat, but she wants to inspire women to speak out and celebrate their worth and accomplishments. When women get recognized for their greatness, they tend to keep it to themselves, as if they aren't worthy enough. But, Shonda wants to change that. She wants women to know that they should share and give props to themselves when something good happens, just like men do when they get awarded for their hard work.

The YBF showrunner was honored at Elle magazine's 25th annual Women In Hollywood celebration inside the Four Seasons Hotel ballroom in Beverly Hills. The event was filled with fabulous women in Hollywood, including fellow honorees Angela Bassett, Yara Shahidi, Lady Gaga, Charlize Theron, Keira Knightley, Sarah Paulson and Mia Farrow.

The "Scandal" creator (pictured above with her daughter on the carpet) dropped a bomb on everyone during her acceptance speech. She announced she's the highest paid showrunner in television after inking a lucrative overall deal with Netflix, although she didn't reveal exactly how much she's earning.

“I am the highest-paid showrunner in television,” the 48-year-old network hitmaker told the audience.

It was previously announced Ryan Murphy, who was in the audience, signed a five-year Netflix deal worth as much as $300 million. Also, Greg Berlanti signed a $400 million overall deal extensions with Warner Bros. Television. So yeah, Shonda is making BANK. The TV queen didn't drop the bomb for arrogant reasons. She did it to point out the differences between men and women.

“Over the course of the seasons, Ellen and I went from believing that we were employees of a network to understand that we were the network. In a world in which women of all colors are constantly forced to battle with men for equity and inclusion, we have the good fortune to work in an environment that we had nurtured and built with enough of our sweat and tears over enough years that we no longer needed to battle men to get to the top of a mountain,” Shonda said. “We just built our own mountains, and then we realized that all we had to do was equalize and include one another.”

The "Grey's Anatomy" creator continued:

“The other day I came to this conclusion that men brag and women hide. Even when they don’t deserve to brag, men brag — [Donald] Trump, [Brett] Kavanaugh — and when men do deserve to brag, they are good at it. They do it so well. Men brag about everything, even things that aren’t things. A little while ago in an inspiring article, Ellen told the world she was the highest-paid women in dramatic television. She did not hide. She bragged. She said she was powerful and she said deserved it, and there was some blowback. There should not have been. I have seen a thousand articles like that from men, but she’s a woman and she shouldn’t say things like that.”

“When I made a deal with Netflix, I let them report my salary wrong in the press, and then I did as few interviews as possible and I put my head down and worked. In other words, I hid. I’m getting this award for inspiring other women — how can I inspire anyone if I’m hiding?”

“My point is that we need to set an example because I am awesome and we are awesome, which is another way of saying we have power. We are powerful women and when we say we have power, what we are really saying is that we deserve to have power. We deserve whatever good thing it is that we are getting. Demanding what you deserve can feel like a radical act."

"Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta" star Tommie Lee is currently behind bars after being arrested TWICE within 48 hours. She has racked up a slew of felony charges after allegedly slamming her daughter's head into a locker inside of her middle school. Details inside...

If you watch "Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta" then you know Tommie Lee is no stranger to getting in trouble. Chick stays getting arrested and some type of way, stays getting out on bail.  But not this time.

Tommie Lee (real name Atasha Chizaah Jefferson) landed BACK in jail yesterday for stalking her daughter, 24 hours after she was arrested for allegedly slamming her daughter's head into a locker inside her middle school. Wow. This is sad.

The 34-year-old reality star, who has been vocal about her alcohol abuse on the show, was first arrested after an altercation at her daughter's school, Griffin Middle School in Smyrna. According to the arrest warrant, Tommie "shoved her [daughter's] headfirst forcefully into a medal school locker."

She then allegedly hit the child with a strap from her purse and then "grabbed her hair then forced her to walk down the hallway."

What in the world?!

According to Fox 5 Atlanta, Tommie was charged with felony charges that include cruelty to children and aggravated assault. She was also hit with three counts of simple battery and disruption of a public school.

Tommie posted a $27,000 bond and got out of jail Wednesday (October 17th) morning around 4AM (mug shot above). She was issued a court order to stay away from her daughter.

By Wednesday night, she was BACK in jail after she was charged with aggravated stalking and obstruction of an officer (mug shot above). According to TMZ, she violated the order by making contact with her daughter hours after getting out of jail the first time.

WSBTV reporter Matt Johnson says when cops arrived to her home to arrest her she refused to come to the front door. Police found her hiding in the attic.  Whew chile.  The horror.

Her bond was revoked and she will remain in Cobb County Jail indefinitely.

Tamar Braxton opens up about the drama that unfolded when she and her family sat down with life coach Iyanla Vanzant. Find out what she said about how a family member stole her voice about being abused as a child inside...

Over the last few months or so, Tamar Braxton and her sisters had been going at it. So, they called up Iyanla Vanzant to try and help fix the mess they had going on in their sisterhood.

Before the therapy session with Iyanla aired on the "Braxton Family Values" episode, there were rumors that the sisters were going to touch on a family secret about Tamar. After rumors started getting around, Tamar went on the "Wendy Williams Show" to reveal she had been molested by family members on both sides.

She also went on social media expressing how she felt about someone discussing the trauma she experienced as a child without first speaking to her about it.

In a new interview with 97.9 The Box, the singer, who's currently starring in Snoop Dogg's stage play "Redemption of a Dog," opened up (as much as she could) about how the situation with the life coach was handled and how she was blindsided by someone in her family revealing secrets about her life without EVER talking to her about it.

Tamar told the radio hosts she NEVER told any of her immediate family members about being sexually abused as a child, however, one of them spoke with someone from Iyanla's show about the abuse off camera. She revealed she didn't even know that particular family member knew about the abuse and that the person NEVER even spoke to her about it. Ever. She didn't know that any of them knew.

The Calling All The Lovers singer said she was 6-7 years old when she was being abused and that she didn't even know she was being abused when it was happening. She thought it was "just a part of life."

Tamar said she isn't upset with her family member since they didn't bring it up on national television. However, she isn't feeling Iyanla (whose name she couldn't/wouldn't say) for bringing it up during taping. She said Iyanla handled the conversation in an insensitive way.

By the way, the molestation conversation during the therapy session was never aired. Also, it was reported that Iyanla may take legal action over the controversy following the taping of the show.

The Love & War singer was asked if the family members who molested her are still alive, she never got the chance to answer when one of the hosts interrupted her.

Tamar said she made it through by the grace of God and now she wants to help others who may have gone through the same thing. She created a space, dubbed No Need TB Shame, to give people a place to get it off their chest and free themselves.

Chance The Rapper is talking politics. Not only is he talking about it, but he's also participating as well, proving he's all about his mayoral candidate for his hometown of Chicago.

The Coloring Book rapper is endorsing Chicago mayoral candidate Amara Enyia. And he has several reasons to.

During a news conference at City Hall, the Grammy Award winning rapper explained exactly why he's voting for Enyia. And it has everything to do with creating change to make Chi-town better for everyone.

“I want to work with somebody that’s about change, somebody that’s about our community, somebody that’s about equity, somebody that’s about fairness,” he said during the press conference, standing alongside Enyia.

He said Eniya shares the same vision he has of “what Chicago could be.” And we all know Chance LOVES his city and shows it with the way he gives back and speaks up at community meetings.

“Obviously love this city, I love it enough to call it out, on its shortcomings,” he said. “I’m proud to announce that I will not be running for mayor, but I’d like to say very narcissistically that if I back you, you have a chance, absolutely.”

Amara Eniya, who is the director of the Austin Chamber of Commerce in Chicago, has a law degree and Ph.D. in education policy under her belt. According to her campaign website, she's seeking a “visionary leadership that is powered by the people."

Remy Ma had some strong words about voting during a recent episode of REVOLT's State of the Culture with Joe Budden, Jinx, and Scottie Beam.

The mom-to-be again dropped some gems on the masses, saying it's EVERYONE's responsibility to educate others about the importance of voting. She said we need to educate our children about voting in midterm elections, not just presidential elections.

"F*ck Kanye! F*ck Trump! Fuck all that! Educate yourself and then educate your children. The same way you'll push your kid to stand in line for a pair of f*cking sneakers that are coming out, push them to the polls," she said.

The NFL tried to get one of the world's BIGGEST entertainers to grace the biggest stage of the year, but she reportedly said NOPE! A source told US Weekly the NFL reached out to Rihanna to headline the Super Bowl LIII Halftime Show, but she declined. The reason? She STANDS with Colin Kaepernick!

“The NFL and CBS really wanted Rihanna to be next year’s performer in Atlanta,” the source told the publication. “They offered it to her, but she said no because of the kneeling controversy. She doesn’t agree with the NFL’s stance.”

We stan.

Last month, the NFL announced Maroon 5 will be performing during the Super Bowl in Atlanta, with a special set by Cardi B.

After kneeling during the national anthem to protest racial inequality and police brutality in 2016, Colin has seemingly been blackballed from the league. The former San Fransisco 49ers quarterback filed a collusion grievance against the NFL and its owners in November 2017 and it will advance to trial.

In legal news...

Tip just caught a semi-break in that assault case he caught back in May after he got into it with a security guard. Prosecutors have reportedly dropped the assault charge he caught after they claim he made criminal threats towards the security guard who was watching the gated community Tiny lives in. The guard was reportedly sleeping when the rapper got there. He asked T.I. for some ID and when he didn't produce it, all hell broke loose.

"You're making it worse for yourself, man ... You're gonna have to deal with me," allegedly told the security guard. Police saw that as a threat and arrested him for assault, but it didn't hold water.

The Dime Trap rapper still reportedly faces three counts of misdemeanor disorderly conduct and one count of misdemeanor public drunkenness.

A new poll claims Beyonce is the most politically divisive celebrity in the U.S., despite the fact she rarely speaks politics. But you still know exactly where she stands.  Let's discuss inside...

Folks are trying it and reaching for straws at every length at this point.

A new poll by Morning Consult found that the LEMONADE singer has been found to be "the MOST politically divisive celebrity" in the United States. This was the result despite the fact Bey hardly ever talks politics.

The poll found that Beyoncé has a 63% favorable rating with Democrats and a -3% favorable rating among Republicans, which results in a 66-point gap.  Ha.  They hate the fact her pure existence screams unapologetically black feminism. 

They will deal.

The Hill reports:

That 66-point gap was the biggest between the two political parties of any entertainer on the list.

Fox News’ Sean Hannity took the runner-up spot on the list, with a 28 percent net favorability rating for the GOP and -37 among Democrats.

LeBron James, Rush Limbaugh, and Ellen DeGeneres rounded out the top 5 spots on the most divisive celebrity poll. Rihanna made it in the top 10. How is it that Beyonce, of all celebrities, was named as the most politically divisive when she rarely speaks out on political issues? We know: Racism. It's showing, and we peep it. We're not the only ones either:

Sure, she incorporates black American culture into Coachella sets.  Sure, she blasted the word FEMINISM across her big ass stage at both the Formation Tour & the On The Run II tour.  And sure, she has campaigned for Hillary Clinton and is besties with the Obamas.  We guess the fact she is so powerful in her own right before she did these things is what people have a problem with. 

Folks like LeBron are MUCH more often direct and vocal, yet he ranks lower in the divisiveness scale?  Likely because he's a man at the end of the day, and his voice is welcomed and accepted.  Intersectionality is a b***. 

If their voices are "divisive", then oh damn well.  We applaud BOTH for continuing to do what they do and keeping those on the wrong side of history mad uncomfortable.

It's been over 2 years since she released any new music (she dropped the EP Drive back in 2016), and almost 10 years since she released a full album.  The "1 Thing" singer is now a mom, a wife and looks exactly the same as she did back when she had us on our Go-Go club tip.

Today, Amerie dropped a double EP called 4AM MULHOLLAND and AFTER 4AM (and that extra 'i' she added to her name years ago), a follow up to her 2009 album In Love and War.  And it's a nice little Friday bop for the weekend.

“I experienced pushback because I’m a female who knows herself and doesn’t have problems speaking up.”

As for what she's been up to in the last several years:

I was thinking about my next project in 2012 and still making music, but I was writing [books] and wanted to put all my time into writing. I kept thinking I would get to music, but for the most part it was writing and learning story craft. I was living, breathing writing -- I wrote six novels in the past [six] years. One is done, two are almost finished, some I’m revising, others are in various states. But I was really missing actively recording, because it gives you a different creative outlet. I’m passionate about writing and story, but it creates a different kind of fatigue.

On her new music being darker and moodier:

The funny thing to me, I've always felt like my music is dark -- even when no one else thinks that. Like with “Why Don’t We Fall in Love,” I got on the video with the director and he’s like, “OK, I’m thinking summertime, you on a beach," and I go, “OK, this is cool, but actually my initial thought was black, red and a highway.” No one else seems to feel that.

As I have made clear so often in the past with every fiber of my being, I embrace my natural heritage and despite having grown up thinking light skin and straight, silky hair were the standards of beauty, I now know that my dark skin and kinky, coily hair are beautiful too. Being featured on the cover of a magazine fulfills me as it is an opportunity to show other dark, kinky-haired people, and particularly our children, that they are beautiful just the way they are. I am disappointed that @graziauk invited me to be on their cover and then edited out and smoothed my hair to fit their notion of what beautiful hair looks like. Had I been consulted, I would have explained that I cannot support or condone the omission of what is my native heritage with the intention that they appreciate that there is still a very long way to go to combat the unconscious prejudice against black women's complexion, hair style and texture. #dtmh

Future and Nicki Minaj will be hitting the road together in 2019 on their “NickiHndrxx" Tour. But before they do, they're releasing new music together.

Future teams up with Nicki on his track "Transformer," a cut from his new joint project with Juice WRLD titled WRLD ON DRUGS.

Fans are convinced the Young Money rapper fired shots at her nemesis Cardi B with a few punchlines on the track. First she rapped:

“Four albums in, pull a milli for a show / While these bitches is servin’ Milli Vanilli on the low"

Fans believe she's throwing a jab at Cardi since she has beena ccused of using a ghostwriter. And those of us old enough to know Milli Vanilli know they were known for lip-syncing during performances and also not even actually singing on their songs. They had their Grammy taken away after the scandal broke.

Then Nicki said:

"Some call me Nicki, but some call me Megatron / I’m stopping bags and I don’t need a red octagon"

If you've been keeping up with the Nicki vs. Cardi B feud, then you remember when Bardi fired a subliminal shot at Nicki on Instagram, accusing her of "stopping her bag" following their now infamous altercation during NYFW. Remy Ma previously said the same thing. The "Chun-Li" rapper then started the #NickiStoppedMyBag hashtag, which resulted in memes being posted all over social media. She then took the phrase and released new merch for the Barbz.

On the track, Nicki also rapped:"Master bathroom, two jacuzzis, and a sauna/They ain't warn her/Now she out here facin' Karma"

R&B crooner Khalid serves up a new EP titled Suncity, a follow up musical offering to his debut album, American Teen.

"More than anything in life right now I want growth. I want my music to grow and represent how I am growing up," Khalid shared about the new project.
