Colin Kaepernick Gives Props To Two Miami Dolphins Players Who Kneeled During Anthem + Cop Your Kaepernick Jersey Now!

 photo kneel1.png

Colin Kaepernick praises the two Miami Dolphins players - Kenny Stills& Albert Wilson - who kneeled during the National Anthem before the first game of the season. Also, Kaepernick releases a new collection of jerseys. More inside...

Colin Kaepernick has been blackballed from the NFL (he's suing the league for collusion), however, the peaceful protests are still happening.

Two years after Colin first started kneeling, two Miami Dolphins players are keeping the protest alive. Dolphins wide receivers Kenny Stills and Albert Wilson took a knee during the National Anthem during week 1 of the 2018 regular season in an effort to raise awareness about racial injustices. The Dolphins were playing against the Tennessee Titans for the season opener.

 photo kneel2.png

They are the first players to protest during the regular season amid all of the controversy. These two players also took a knee during preseason.

Stills spoke with the New York Times last week, saying:

“It shouldn’t be this complicated. Instead of people saying, yeah, let’s do this, let’s make change, let’s make our country a better place, it’s like, no, don’t do this then, this isn’t the right place, you don’t like the police.”

Stills said he will continue to kneel throughout the season until a team picks up Kaepernick or NFLer Eric Reid. He too has been blackballed and filed a collusion grievance against the league.

USA Today details about on the other NFL players who protested during the season opener:

Dolphins defensive end Robert Quinn also raised a fist during the song, as did San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Marquise Goodwin before his team's game against the Minnesota Vikings. Denver Broncos wide receiver Demaryius Thomas and linebacker Brandon Marshall both stayed in the locker room.

Back in May, the NFL announced they would require all players on the field to stand during the anthem. In July, that rule got put on the backburner as controversy came to light from the Dolphins camp. They were receiving hella backlash after a copy of the team's discipline rules were leaked and it said that anyone who took a knee during the anthem would be suspended, fined or both. It was then announced the NFL's policy would be postponed as the groups (NFL, NFL Players Union) attempted to work out a compromise.

Once Kaepernick caught wind of the players taking a knee, he praised them on Instagram, writing: "My Brothers @kstills and @ithinkisee12 continue to show their unwavering strength by fighting for the oppressed! They have not backed down, even when attacked and intimidated. Their courage will move the world forward! “Love is at the root of our resistance!”

Check it:

YAS!

Like we said, Kaepernick is no longer in the league, so if you didn't already have a Kaepernick jersey, then you were out of luck. But, not for long. Kaepernick just announced he has a new collection of jerseys coming out:

"Official #IMWITHKAP Jerseys available for PRE-SALE now! Limited Edition. 20% of all proceeds go to @yourrightscamp. Thank you for your continued support! Shop at kaepernick7.com. Link in bio," he captioned.

As you all know, Nike tapped Colin for their newest campaign and some folks were mad. Ha! Some haters even burned their Nikes in protest. However, a report came out today revealing Nike's sales are UP. According to NBC News, the brand's sales went up 31 percent since the quarterback-turned-activist's campaign. Bloop!

So much for folks saying big bands shouldn't stand behind social issues.

Kanye West has been busy tweeting today, and he mentioned Colin and Nike's partnership:

SHE'S JUST PLAYIN': Nicki Minaj Drops 'Barbie Dreams' Video, Does 'Date Night' With Lewis Hamilton But It's Not What You Think

 photo IMG_4257_zpsyyfw9bdo.png

Nicki Minaj brought out her cakes and her muppets for the visuals for her latest ish talking anthem "Barbie Dreams." And now she's stirring up rumors that she's dating race car driver Lewis Hamilton. Get it all inside...

The unicorn-colored & platinum blonde wiggery rocking rapper stepped things up a notch for the "Barbie Dreams" video, which dropped just hours after she shaded Cardi B. into oblivion on Queen Radio (more on that coming up).  She basically turned a photoshoot into a video, and had Lil Wayne and the other rappers she name checks on the track in muppet form.  Ha.

Nicki showed off her new glam game (thanks to new hairstylist Arrogant Tae and makeup artist Aaliyah Jay) and her improved struggle twerk while rocking neon panties, bras and booty shorts.

She playfully lets everyone have it on the Biggie-sampled Queen album track.  So it's only right the video matched.

Check it below:

Chick topped off her busy day by hitting up the TommyXLewis Launch Party at Public Arts in NYC last night.  She's been at tons of NYFW shows, but this time we hear she was there with a date - Formula 1 racecar driver Lewis Hamilton himself.

 photo NickiMinajTommyXLewisLaunchPartykRorgui2R-xl_zpsxqvzjvt3.jpg

 photo NickiMinajTommyXLewisLaunchPartygIB31e3nWOal_zpshpejxesz.jpg

They got all cozy in pics, which Nicki has done before and it didn't mean a damn thing.  She HAS been hinting about having a "new boy," but it could just be all PR stuntasticness.

After TMZ reported they left together and went to dinner together, with video proof, it's now clear Nicki was just third wheelin'.  Model Winnie Harlow - who's been linked to Lewis over the last year but also to Wiz Khalifa recently - was there with them.

So yeah, no.

Tisha Campbell-Martin Says Duane Martin's $75K Worth Of Shirts Proves He Can Pay Spousal Support [RECEIPTS] + Matt Barnes' Retraining Order Against Gloria Govan Granted

 photo tishaspousalsupport.png

Tisha Campbell-Martin says her estranged husband Duane Martin CAN afford to pay spousal support and she has the proof. See the receipts (provided by Duane himself), plus get the latest on Matt Barnes vs. Gloria Govan inside....

Tisha Campbell-Martin and Duane Martin's uncoupling is getting messier! And thanks to social media, Tisha has receipts to back up her claims in their pending divorce.

The "Martin" star filed for divorce back in February and then spousal support with no details as to why she was ending their 20+ year marriage. Five months after Tisha filed for divorce, the "All Of Us" actor filed his own paperwork seeking spousal support from his estranged wife.

Now, Tisha is putting Duane on full blast...and he helped. The 49-year-old actress, who celebrates a birthday next month, filed new legal documents explaining her 53-year-old actor husband CAN cough up some dough for spousal support. She made claims that the "New Edition Story" actor has over 500 shirts that cost at least $1,500 a piece! When you add that up, it totals a whopping $750,000.

Outside of living with him and knowing what he has in his wardrobe, she has video PROOF of his custom shirts because he posted a clip on Instagram a few months ago bragging about them. In the clip, he shows his fans his closet where he has a slew of shoes, tons of shirts and more. Check it below:

When trying to stunt goes wrong.

Since Tisha claims Duane has been hiding money during their marriage, she's trying everything in her power to prove just how much money her estranged husband has. Duane has denied hiding money and called the rumors "patently false."

It's reported Tisha listed $1.5 million in assets, although she said she doesn't currently have a steady stream of income, which is why she's seeking spousal support. Apparently, her monthly expenses total up to at least $33,000. Damn GINA! She estimates Duane rakes in about $62,000/month. It's unclear how much she's seeking a month in spousal support.

Luckily, they don't have to worry about fighting over their two children, Xen (16) and Ezekiel (8), since they've both agreed on joint custody. The couple also filed for bankruptcy in 2016 after raking up $15 million in debt. We're not sure how this all will play out.

When she's not busy with filing divorce paperwork, Tisha's hanging out with her bestie Tichina Arnold:

Here's a "throwback" of Tisha celebrating Tichina's birthday a few months ago along with fellow actors Regina Hall, Lynn Whitfield, Terry Crews, writer/director Ali LeRoi and Sheaun Mckinney.

Good luck to them both.

In other post-breakup drama...

 photo mattgloria.png

Gloria Govan messed up BIG time when she tried to keep her ex-Matt Barnes from getting their twin boys on his scheduled visitation. Now, the courts are involved and she can't even be around her children without supervision.

The former NBA star reportedly filed a restraining order against the former reality star, who's currently dating Derek Fisher, after her arrest last week. Cops arrested her after she caused a huge scene outside of their sons' school when she tried to pick them up early so that Matt couldn't get them on his scheduled day to get them. She performed so bad, she ended up getting arrested. And the boys saw it all.

Now, Matt wants full custody of their kids. He claims she's a danger to the boys, especially after that heated argument at their school that landed her in jail.

The former couple went to court recently and Matt's restraining order against Gloria was granted. She must stay 100 yards away. As for seeing her kids, the judge allowed supervised visitation with them for 4-hours at a time.

Damn!

Hmm...we wonder what Derek Fisher's kids' mom is thinking. If she can't act accordingly around her own kids then....

Foxy Brown Accused Of Skipping Out On NYFW Performance & Running Off With The Bag + Ja Rule Argues Fyre Festival Plaintiffs Can't Sue Him

$

 photo foxy1.png

Word on the curb is that Foxy Brown stiffed some promoters out of 10,000 as she was supposed to perform at LaQuan Smith's NYFW afterparty. But, it never happened. Get the deets, plus why Ja Rule claims he holds no responsibility for the disaster that was the Fyre Festival inside...

This year's New York Fashion Week may be one of the most drama filled yet. The Cardi B vs. Nicki Minaj thing went down, Kanye West kicked out a reporter and now this...

Foxy Brown allegedly skipped out on her scheduled performance at LaQuan Smith's afterparty to celebrate his show at New York Fashion Week. It's no secret Foxy was scheduled to hit the stage as the designer promoted the performance on social media:

However, his dream afterparty didn't happen. And apparently, it's Foxy's fault.

According to TMZ, Brooklyn's Don Diva was supposed to perform 2 songs at LaQuan's afterparty following his show. She was set to make $10,000 total where she was given $5,000 in advance and would get the rest at the party. Well, none of that happened.

It's alleged Foxy showed up extremely late (around 2:30AM) and there were hardly anyone left at the party. Sources told the site Foxy swooped in, grabbed the $5,000 check from the organizer's hand and made a beeline out of the door. If true, that's gangsta AF. Take the check and not perform? Where they do that at?

The people who put the party together are PISSED and now, they may sue! Either she gives them their money back, or they're taking her to court. Sheesh! Let's hope she's not participating in scammer season.

In other shady business...

 photo jarulefyrefestival.png

Ja Rule is working to clear his name from that trainwreck Fyre Festival.

The rapper is demanding he be let out of all lawsuits and to not be liable for any of the alleged damages following the 2017 Fyre Festival. In court documents, he said the Fyre Festival plaintiffs have no grounds to sue him and that the plaintiffs are coming after him because he is the only person who was associated with the festival that has coins. Oop!

You'll recall, the festival was atotal disaster. Literally. It was supposed to be a fun-filled and relaxing event for rich millenials to enjoy activities like kayaking and yoga on the Islands of the Exumas. The festival was set to run over two weekends like Coachella, but it was nothing of the sort. When festivalgoers got on the island they quickly learned it wasn’t going to be anything like it had been hyped up to be. Apparently tents were falling over, transportation was provided via a school bus, the food was NOT up to par and they ran out of drinking water.

Chile...

Here's why Ja feels he shouldn't be involved in the class-action lawsuits ( there are several) via The Blast:

He argues that the people who bought tickets signed a contract with Fyre, not him. He says he did not owe a duty to anyone and only promoted the event on social media twice.

The rapper says while the festival attendees claim they were given bread and cheese sandwiches, he argues that the “food provided may not have been the gourmet food that Plaintiffs were expecting, but that complaint should be addressed through a breach of contract claim against the parties to the contract,” which he says does not include him.

Ja further argues that their claims of not having luxury tents at the festival grounds as promised are nonsense. Ja claims none of the plaintiffs allege they were not provided with shelter, saying the attendees may not have been provided “luxury villas” as they expected but they were provided shelter.

The attendees also claimed there was no medical staff but the rapper says that does not matter because none of them ever needed it.

Ja Rule says despite them claiming there was a lack of water at the festival, none of the people suing went without water.

Back in March, the event's organizer, Bill McFarland, pleaded guilty to two counts of wire fraud related to defrauding investors and a ticket broker with Fyre Festival. Oh and get this, he also reportedly pleaded guilty to new charges months later for allegedly selling fraudulent tickets to fashion, music and sporting events.

THIS guy....

Thoughts on Ja Rule trying to get out of this mess??

RUMOR CONTROL: Mary J. Blige DENIES Fighting Faith Evans At Diddy's Party, Rips Dennis Basso's NYFW Runway

 photo BASSO6.jpg

Over the weekend, a ridiculous rumor about Mary J. Blige and Faith Evans getting into a fight at a party thrown by Diddy was cirulating these Internet streets. However, Mary J says the rumor couldn't be further from the truth. More inside...

Why are folks messing around with musical legends?

After the Cardi B vs. Nicki Minaj altercation went viral, there was another fight story thrown in the mix. An alleged R&B diva beatdown.

It's unclear where it all started, but folks on social media started spreading the rumor that Mary J. Blige and Faith Evans got into a fight during a party Diddy supposedly threw in the Hamptons over the weekend. No video footage of said "fight" or the aftermath ever surfaced, so it wasn't very believable in the first place.

Now, Mary J. Blige is addressing the drama.

The Queen of Hip Hop Soul was tapped to walk in Dennis Basso's spring/summer '19 show during New York Fashion Week where she was asked about the alleged altercation. Of course, she said it was false.

"Of course that was made up. I was shooting a movie in Louisiana . . . I just got here today,” Mary told Page Six last night during the NYFW show.

She's currently filming a new horror film titled Body Cam. It's about a group of cops who are involved in covering up a murder by ditching their body cam video footage. Afterwards, they find themselves being haunted by an evil spirit. Sounds interesting.

A rep for Faith Evans also debunked the rumors:

“I have no idea how this rumor started. Puffy didn’t even have a party," Faith's rep told Hollywood Life.

The rep also said Faith was nowhere near the Hamptons. She was at home on the west coast in Newport Beach, California.

So yeah, no R&B Diva Royal Rumble. Thankfully. The culture doesn't need it. They may have had a falling out back in the day, but everything is all good now.

 photo BASSO9.jpg

While Mary is used to dressing up in designer threads and getting glammed up, she said she never dreamed of walking in a fashion show.

“I was a tomboy who thought about running in the streets or hopping a fence, playing basketball," she said. "I’m not gonna sit here and lie just because we at a fashion show. I just did not think about it, because I was not that girl.”

She helped close out the show with designer Dennis Basso for the finale walk. And she looked amazing.

 photo BASSO5.jpg

 photo BASSO1.jpg

And just because she never thought about it, doesn't mean she doesn't have her catwalk perfected.

“I don’t need the runway to walk with a f–k-you mentality. I walk down the street with a f–k-you attitude . . . It’s not ‘F –k the world,’ but ‘This is me, and you can’t stop me from being me.’ I love Fashion Week,” she added. "I still don’t get free stuff . . . I repeat my stuff — you just have to know where to repeat it — but it ends up all over the internet.”

THIS IS BS! Tennis Umpires Reportedly Considering Boycotting Serena Williams If She Doesn't Apologize + Australian Newspaper REPRINTS Racist Cartoon Of 'Rena

$

 photo sernaboycott.png

Oh, folks are acting ALL the way up.  It's being reported tennis umpires are considering to BOYCOTT Serena Williams following the tennis star checking an unfair umpire during the US Open. Also, the Australian newspaper that made that racist cartoon of Rena REPRINTED it. Deets inside...

Chile, these tennis umpires are really trying it.  When a black woman stands up for herself she can guarantee that there will be backlash.

After Serena Williams had to check chair umpire Carlos Ramos during the US Open last weekend for unfairly applying legitimate, yet rarely enforced rules, it's being reported tennis umpires are considering boycotting Serena Williams' matches.

An anonymous official spilled the beans to The Times that the umpires don't feel "supported" by the United States Tennis Association in general. They also feel like Carlos Ramos was thrown to the wolves for simply doing his job and was not willing to be abused for it.

 photo serenaboycott4.png

The kicker? They want her to APOLOGIZE.

According to The Times of London, umpires are debating whether they should bow out of her matches until she apologizes for crticising Ramos. Boy, BYE!

Where is the lie? Rena herself said she has witnessed seveal male tennis players say worse things to umpires and they weren't penalized like she was. Serena was fined $17,000 for three code violations during the U.S. Open final. She was docked $10,000 for “verbal abuse” of chair umpire Carlos Ramos, $4,000 for being warned for coaching, and $3,000 for breaking her racket.

Oh, and it gets worse...

 photo serenaboycott2.png

A day after an Australian newspaper released the racist visual of Serena Williams and received tons of backlash for it, they had the unmitigated gall to REPRINT it!

The Herald Sun tabloid reprinted the photo on the front-page with the headline "Welcome To PC World" along with the caption, "If the self-appointed censors of Mark Knight get their way on his Serena Williams cartoon, our new politically correct life will be very dull indeed."

The cover also included caricatures of other Australian and foreign political leaders drawn by Mark Knight as well.

Mark Knight, the cartoonist behind the visual, isn't backing down from his creation. "I don't know how you draw an African-American person by not making them look like an African-American person," he said.

That comment, saying that an OVERSIZED woman with exaggerated features looking like an animal is simply "looking like an African American person", tells you everything you need to know about their comfort with displaying racism.

Oddly, Serena's opponent/US Open winner Naomi Osaka is Haitian and Japanese, yet in the artwork, she's drawn as a WHITE woman with blonde hair, something the paper nor Mark Knight has addressed. Hmph.

Peep this interview of Mark defending his cartoon below:

We'd like to note that Mark has deactivated all of his social media accounts. We wish he'd keep the same energy on social media that he had in this interview.

The Serena caricature is very similar to the racist illustrations during the Jim Crow era and that's not up for debate.

People have been speaking out fiercely to defend Serena after the cartoon was released, including numerous celebrities, sports broadcasters, journalists and activists.

As of now, Serena has not commented on the cartoon. She did post this super cute photo of herself and her daughter, Alexis Olympia:

Viola Davis Regrets 'The Help' Role, And It's Why We Were Never Here For The Film + Kenya Barris Opens Up About Shelved Trump Episode & Leaving ABC For Netflix

$

 photo violahelp.png

Viola Davis says she regrets acting in "The Help," and she offers up a good reason why. Also, Kenya Barris is speaking out about that anti-Trump episode that got shelved and why he left ABC for Netflix inside...

Viola Davis' acting career took off after her role in the award-winning film, The Help. She was nominated for an Oscar in the Best Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role category in 2012. She didn't win the Oscar, but directors and booking agents started calling and she was getting roles left and right.

While the role offered her more opportunities, the "How To Get Away With Murder" star reveals she regrets starring in the film. And with good reason.

The Oscar nominated actress says working with the people on The Help was amazing and she made some lifelong friends, during an interview with The Hollywood Reporter.

"Almost a better question is, have I ever done roles that I’ve regretted? I have, and 'The Help' is on that list. But not in terms of the experience and the people involved because they were all great. The friendships that I formed are ones that I’m going to have for the rest of my life. I had a great experience with these other actresses, who are extraordinary human beings. And I could not ask for a better collaborator than Tate Taylor."

It's the storyline that was the problem.

"I just felt that at the end of the day that it wasn’t the voices of the maids that were heard. I know Aibileen. I know Minny. They’re my grandma. They’re my mom. And I know that if you do a movie where the whole premise is, I want to know what it feels like to work for white people and to bring up children in 1963, I want to hear how you really feel about it. I never heard that in the course of the movie."

Look at the growth. While we know Viola wouldn't accept a role like this today, the role definitely opened her eyes as to which stories she wants to help tell. When the movie came out, there was backlash from black leaders, writers and moviegoers because they felt like the movie was so successful due to the fact that it played into stereotypes.  It didn't help that in the original book, muc of the story was told from the maids' point of view.  In the movie, the white savior complex was alive and well with Emma Stone's character being the main focus.

Directress Ava DuVernay, who also worked on the The Help, tweeted how she actually changed careers after the flick:

Blessing in disguise.

In other black creative news....

 photo kenyaepisode.png

Back in March, ABC decided to pull one of Kenya Barris' "black-ish" episodes days before it was set to air. It was reported it was permanently shelved due to “creative differences” between the network and the show runner.

The episode titled “Please, Baby, Please” was set to air February 27th, featuring Anthony Anderson’s character Dre trying to get his infant son to sleep during an intense thunderstorm that kept the entire family awake. Dre attempts to read the baby a bedtime story, but ditches the plan when the baby keeps crying. He then began to improvise a bedtime story that touched on many of Dre’s concerns about the current state of the country.

The episode was set to touch on several political and social issues, one of them being an argument between Dre and his oldest son Junior (Marcus Scribner) over whether athletes should kneel during the national anthem at football games.

It was later reported that ABC said the kneeling was “not really the issue.” Hmph. The decision to shelf the episode ultimately inspired Kenya to make his move to Netflix.

“I know there was some concern about partisanship, and the way the episode was angled and the balance in terms of the stories,” he shared in his cover story with The Hollywood Reporter. “On network TV, one of the things I’ve learned is that you have to talk about things from both sides.”

He didn't give many details about the "creative differences" between himself and the network, however, he did mention his time was just up after the episode fiasco.

"I don't know that I would have been as useful to them as they'd need me to be after that," he said.

Kenya said he didn't like the way Ben Sherwood, the co-chairman of Disney Media Networks, handled the situation.

"The way that [Ben] chose to deal with me in this particular episode, I felt a way about it and I still do. He'd make it seem like it was an open environment but really it wasn't, and those are things I see very clearly. Everyone wants to say it's open arms, but just tell me it's not and I'll respect you more."

At ABC's urging, Barris had his editor test a few of the suggested cuts — but it wasn't as easy as a nip here or a tuck there, and the sheer tonnage of anti-Trump material rippling through the episode ultimately made the exercise futile. Barris hated what came back. "What it ended up being, and I think the network would agree, was not a true representation of what we intended to do," he says. "Because if it was, we would've shown it." Unable to reach a compromise, they collectively decided to scrap it.

By August, Kenya chucked deuces to ABC and inked a new deal with Netflix, following his mentor Shonda Rhimes. The deal is said to be in the high eight figures. Coins!

"If I was going to step out, I wanted to do something where I could take off all the straps and really hang out of the plane," he explained. "I want to be Netflix with attitude — loud, bold and unapologetic."

Oh, and Kenya doesn't sugar coat his words when it comes to Roseanne, following the fallout behind her racist Twitter commentary.

"Because f*ck Roseanne," he said. "She's a f*ckin' monster. And they were like, 'Why is this monster killing villagers?' And I was like, 'Because that's what a monster does.'"

Straight talk, no chaser.

Shed a few thug tears this morning. I just got the call from my agents - baby girl didn’t get the VS show this year but it’s all good! This post is for everyone on my team who kept me focused and held me down! I can’t say thank you enough to my hair and make up team for getting me ready and helping me feel more confident than ever before going in that room. Huge thanks to my trainer for pushing me extremely hard, making my workouts fun, and always keeping the gym open for me even for 2 AM workouts after traveling from Europe. Thank you to my stylist for this sexy ass outfit and helping me show off all of my hard work! To my family, boyfriend, best friends, manager, agents, etc, thank you for working out with me, eating super healthy, not drinking, keeping me busy so I don’t snack, and being there for my hangry Jerzday nights with no popcorn. I love you all so much! To the ladies that got the big show- CONGRATS!!! And big thanks to VS for considering me. Guess who’s body is ready for NYFW and artichoke pizza!

A post shared by Jasmine Sanders (@golden_barbie) on

Jasmine Sanders took to Instagram to reveal she was not chosen to walk in Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show that's set to go down this November. Unfortunately, the 27-year-old model will not be joining Willow Harlow, Duckie Thot and the rest of the models that were picked to rip the runway in lingerie.

"I just got the call from my agents - baby girl didn’t get the VS show this year but it’s all good!," she captioned.

She's looking on the bright side of things though. While she won't be walking in the lingerie show, she can finally indulge in pizza, alcohol and unhealthy snacks! She thanked her boyfriend TJ and her team who was behind her helping her to get ready for the audition. Y'all know trying to get "model ready" isn't an easy task. Late night workouts and all.

"Huge thanks to my trainer for pushing me extremely hard, making my workouts fun, and always keeping the gym open for me even for 2 AM workouts after traveling from Europe," she wrote. "To my family, boyfriend, best friends, manager, agents, etc, thank you for working out with me, eating super healthy, not drinking, keeping me busy so I don’t snack, and being there for my hangry Jerzday nights with no popcorn."

No, Issa Rae did not lie when she was asked about Lawrence (played by Jay Ellis) returning for the new season.

Apparently, Vulture misquoted Issa and folks ran with the narrative that Lawrence wasn't returning for the new season. However, she never said he wasn't coming back. She said the show was taking a break from Lawrence, not that he was gone for good.  In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, he defended Issa being misquoted by the publication.

"Well, I’m going to back up. I think Issa was misquoted, and I think it’s actually very unfair that she was misquoted. I think what Issa actually said was, 'We’re taking a break from Lawrence.' A break doesn’t mean a season. A break could mean an episode, it could mean 30 minutes, it could mean a year. She didn’t actually put a time limit on what the break was. I think that because she said we’re taking a break from Lawrence this season, people ran with what they thought that break was and therefore they thought that break was for the entire season, and that wasn’t the case. I think she actually chose her words very correctly, and I think people just kind of took it and ran with it in another way."

He also talked about how it felt when he popped up on the set, unbeknownst to everyone else. His name was kept off of the call sheet the day he returned to set:

“People literally didn’t know I was showing up to set. It was really amazing,” he shared. “It was like a homecoming feeling. It was like seeing friends and seeing family that you haven’t seen in a while, but people were also kind of shocked when they saw me, which was really interesting.”

Ha!

In an interview with ABC Radio, the 36-year-old actor gushed about all of the love he received from #LawrenceHive once they thought he would not be returning to the hit HBO series.

“My phone completely blew up,” Jay told ABC Radio. "It was absolutely insane and I just remember smiling and just being so happy that people were just resonating and connected to that character enough to care that much to want to see his story."

On Sunday, Lawrence popped up at the end of the episode, shocking "Insecure" fans to the core. Jay talked about the Issa/Lawrence dymanic and how it will all unfold.

“Going back to the end of season two there was some closure and so my hope is that they’ve both grown from that moment and maybe they’ll get to explore that and talk about it a little bit but, if I told you then HBO would fire me (laugh)."

Ha!

Be sure to catch the next episode of "Insecure" to see what goes down between Issa and Lawrence on Sunday, September 16th at 10:30pm EST on HBO.

Talk about being a savage! Model Slick Woods just handled her first labor pains and all the comotion like a G - fresh off the runway.  Deets inside...

Rihanna's muse, 22-year-old model Slick Woods, wasn't going to miss this big night for anything.  Not even for labor, apparently.

Last night, Rih debuted her newest collection from Savage x Fenty to end NYFW with a bang.  It was the ultra-inclusive (size, color, bodies, race, maternity,  etc.) runway show and we basically just fell in love with Ms. Fenty on this fact alone.  Chick walks the walk when it comes to inclusivity - from the runway to her marketing to all her sales fronts  we see EVERYONE looking sexy in her lingerie.

But a baby almost crowning on a runway (ok, we're being dramatic, we think) takes every damn cake.

 photo SlickWoodsSavageXFentyFallWinter201815gZ3B6LgOJl_zpsaeoo0u6d.jpg

After Slick walked in a barely there bodysuit harness and heels, she and her pasties and baby bump rushed backstage at the Brooklyn show because she had gone into labor!

TMZ reports:

The crowd loved it, but just as the 22-year-old walked backstage, we're told she went into labor. We're told paramedics showed up to help Slick along. She was taken to the nearest hospital.

Sounds like Baby Saphir is ready to make his debut.  His dad, Adonis Bosso, is a model as well.

Ciara is good for the perfect bop drop when you need one.  Get into "Dose" inside, plus Mariah Carey's "GTFOH" has us torn...

From"Level Up" to "Dose," Ciara's got another dance track for y'all.  She's serious about getting back to her princess-of-crunk-n-b roots we see.

While snippets of the song played across ESPN platforms this week (Come thru WAG benefits!), she just dropped the while track.  Listen above.

She flexed her vocals with a some bathroom video action too:

And Baby Sienna Wilson said she's ready to kick off the Dose dance challenge:

Y'all gonna be getting your life to this over the weekend?

Speaking of vocals:

Mariah Carey is dropping new music out of the blue.  It's called "GTFO," you know, to relate to millennials. We guess this ones for her Lamblilly because, we can't relate. Her voice is still pretty though, so it won't pain you to take a listen.

Chick looks GOODT too.  That rumored surgery stint did a body good,

By the way, she just wrapped her Butterfly Returns tour dates for the year. We hear she was lackluster at the last show, but maybe chick just needs a break. She's back at it again in 2019:

Diamond Ball perfection!

Rihanna brought her 4th annual Diamond Ball back to Cipriani Wall Street in New York City after bringing the black tie gala to NYC for the first time last year.

The "Work" singer tapped her fave celebrity friends to come out in their best to pay up and party for a purpose. The live auction, hosted by Seth Meyers, raised more than $1 million that will benefit The Clara Lionel Foundation.

 photo Rihanna4thAnnualDiamondBallEtLzLk3CIAGl.jpg

Rih founded the CLF in 2012 to honor her grandparents, Clara and Lionel Braithwaite. The Foundation works to improve the quality of life for communities globally in the areas of health, education, arts and culture. Rihanna's inspiring history of service to others continues in CLF's mission, programs and partnerships.

On the carpet, she told the AP:

“In the past I’ve wanted to support so many causes and you go to one foundation for this and one foundation for that. And I don’t think it’s fair to turn your back on someone else who needs help just because it doesn’t fit into the bracket of your mold. And I don’t think charities should be molded like that— not for me anyways,” she said.

“Some people, it works for them, but for me personally, I couldn’t sleep knowing that I can’t help someone with AIDS because my charity’s about cancer. Everybody needs help, you don’t even know what that means, it could be schools supplies, it could be something as light as that. But we would always, always reach out and support, so this going to be an ever-growing charity.”

Botham Jean's Lawyers Say Marijuana Supposedly Found In His Apartment After Dallas Police Officer Killed Him Is A Smear Campaign

Botham Jean's family and lawyers are speaking out against the investigation that allegedly found marijuana in his home after he was shot and killed by a white female Dallas police officer. They say it's a smear campaign. More inside...

Botham Jean's family and lawyers are speaking out about the search warrant (released on the day of his funeral) that was conducted at his apartment right after he was gunned down by a white female Dallas police officer.

 photo botham2.png

The 26-year-old college graduate was gunned down after 30-year-old Amber Guyer entered HIS apartment and shot him in the chest. It's reported the officer parked her car on the wrong floor and entered an apartment she thought was her own. She told investigators she thought it was a burglar in her home when she fired her weapon.

 photo botham3.png

However, there are conflicting details coming to light and it's not exactly clear what happened when she entered the apartment or why she really shot him. She was arrested and charged with manslaughter. Then, she was released on a $300,000 bond, but Dallas County District Attorney Faith Johnson is taking the case to a grand jury.

The Dallas Police Department searched Jean's home (the VICTIM) and it's reported they allegedly found a small amount of marijuana on the counter. It's reported the Dallas police search warrant was obtained September 7th, hours after the shooting.

Jean's attorneys said the mention of marijuana being among the property seized is part of a smear campaign.

Attorney Benjamin Crump, who is representing Jean's family (he also represented Trayvon Martin's family), said the alleged marijuana found inside of the apartment is "completely irrelevant" and the Jean family does not know whom it belonged to. He said this is a "disgusting attempt to assassinate his character now that they have assassinated his person."

Jean's lawyer Lee Merritt said the same thing:

Below are clips of Jean's family's attorneys speaking out:

According to NBCDFW, other items found in the search include two bullet casings, a laptop, a ballistic vest with police markings, a black backpack with police equipment and paperwork, an insulated lunch box, a metal marijuana grinder and two RFID keys. The document did not disclose whom the items belonged to.

So has Officer Guyger's apartment been searched yet? Nope!

Sighs...

Attorney Lee Merritt, who represents Jean's family, said two independent witnesses have come forward to say they heard knocking on the door in the hallway before the shooting. He said one witness claims she heard a woman's voice saying "Let me in, let me in," before hearing gunshots. Police claim no witnesses have forward to them with those claims. Hmph.

Also, the search warrant contradicts what Guyger initially told investigators. According to the detective filing the report, on the night of shooting, officer Amber Guyger “was attempting to enter apartment 1478, with a set of keys. An unknown male inside the apartment confronted the officer at the door. A neighbor stated he heard an exchange of words, immediately followed by at least two gunshots.”

Later she said “the door was slightly ajar… the room nearly completely dark,” and that she spotted him “from across the room… and shot him.”

The evidence doesn’t conclusively show whether the door was unlocked or ajar. So, she's a proven liar.

"To hear that his door was open, he would never -- and have the lights off -- he would never do that," Allisa, Botham Jean's sister, told CBS News' Omar Villafranca. "He was like me. He does not like the dark."

By the way, Guyger's toxicology report (to test for drugs and alcohol in her system) has yet to be released and the family is demanding the Dallas Police Department release it. They also want the department to fire her immediately.

Jean's death has prompted protests in the Dallas area:

Botham Jean was laid to rest yesterday where hundreds of mourners filled a Richardson church to say their final goodbyes:

So sad and senseless.

We send our condolences to his family and friends during this tragic time.

Well, look what we have here! LaLa Anthony and her estranged husband Carmelo Anthony all coupled up at Melo's fashion event in NYC. Are they back on? Let's discuss inside...

Before slaying her way to Rihanna's Diamond Ball, LaLa Anthony stepped out to show support for her estranged husband Carmelo Anthony's newest venture.

LaLa and Melo, who recently signed with the Houston Rockets, were all boo'd up at the NBA All-Star's "Melo Made" capsule collection event that was held in the Meatpacking District of NYC.

Back in April 2017, it was reported La and Melo, who share 11-year-old Kiyan Anthony, had separated with La La having moving out of the family's New York home and into her own place after 7 years of marriage. The breakup news came as rumors were circulating that Melo had allegedly got a NYC stripper pregnant. That hasn't been confirmed as of yet.

In June 2017, LaLa revealed on the "Wendy Williams Show" that she didn't have any plans on divorcing the NBA star and that she was totally focused on raising Kiyan in a healthy environment. La and Melo have been spotted together since the split - at Kiyan's basketball games, out to eat with Kiyan and they both went to visit the family of slain Bronx teen Lesandro "Junior" Guzman-Feliz.

The "Power" star was also spotted courtside at Madison Square Garden when Melo had a "homecoming" game against the Knicks after he was traded to the OKC Thunder.

However, this is the first time we've seen them together all hugged up since announcement of the split.  Maybe all of that extraness Melo was posting on social media to desperately get LaLa back worked.

The Think Like A Man actress played with prints in this Stella McCartney number which paired with yellow pumps for the event.

"Melo Made" is an ongoing series of brand collaborations with the baller's favorite fashion brands. The first collection will include pieces by Rag & Bone and the Jordan Brand collection of sneakers and T-shirts, including a new interpretation of the Air Jordan XX, and a separate five-piece apparel collection, according to WWD.

This is his first multibrand collaboration in ready-to-wear and accessories.

“I’ve been around fashion for a while, observing and being involved, but taking my time and figuring out what I can do to differentiate myself from what everybody else is doing,” the Houston ROcket player said before the event. “I found out a lot of brands wanted me to do collaborations, capsules and lines, so I said, ‘why not make this my own: Melo Made/House of Melo, and just put all the brands under one roof.’” Nice!

Dwyane Wade has announced his retirement from the NBA, revealing he'll play his last season with the Miami Heat. More inside...

It's official!

Dwyane Wade is retiring from the NBA, but not before "one last dance" with the Miami Heat.

In an emotional 10-minute video, D. Wade announced he will be returning to Miami for a 16th and final NBA season. He said it was a hard decision to make, but he had to come to terms with reality.

"Can I physically do it? Can I physically get out of bed every day to do this? Can I deal with every step hurting in the morning? Can I deal with the travel? Can I be away from my family? Is it selfish for me to want to continue to be away from my family?" D. Wade asked in the clip. Questions he asked himself as he pondered on his next move. He said it was one of the hardest decisions he's ever had to make and that it wasn't easy.

The 36-year-old athlete said he has been deciding whether he should return to the NBA over the past four months. He was drafted as the No.5 pick in the 2003 NBA draft, and now, he's ending his career the way he wants to. It's reported he will sign a $2.4 million, one-year deal by the end of this week.

"This is it. I've given this game everything that I have, and I'm happy about that, and I'm going to give it for one last season, everything else I have left," he said.

D. Wade got chocked up while talking about the death of his longtime agent Henry Thomas (aka Hank). He said he felt lost at times without Hank and that playing the game wasn't as enjoyable since he died.

"When I lost Hank, I lost a part of me," Wade said, wiping away tears.

"These things to you guys may seem small," Wade said. "But to me, they're real. I feel like my family have put me first for so many years, for good reasons. But there comes a point in time when we've all got to think about someone else, especially the ones around you that have supported you, supported your dreams, supported your journey like my family have."

D. Wade spent the 2016-2017 NBA season in his hometown, playing for the Chicago Bulls. Then, he began his last season with Cleveland before he returned to the Heat in a trade in February.

"Let's enjoy it," Wade said. "Let's have some joy through this last season. Let's push this young team over the hump and let's write our own story to the end of this career, together. Together."

Good luck on our final NBA dance D. Wade!

WHAT IN THE GHETTO HELL?! Did Wanda Smith's Husband Pull A Gun Out On Katt Williams After He Roasted Her On The Radio? + Tiffany Haddish & Kevin Hart Respond To Katt's Diss

Some ish went down after Katt Williams roasted radio personality Wanda Smith on the radio. Now, it's being reported Wanda's husband pulled up on Katt with a gun. Get the deets, plus find out how Tiffany Haddish and Kevin Hart are involved with the drama inside...

Whew chile, the ghetto!

After nabbing an EMMY award for his guest role in "Atlanta," Katt Williams is making headlines over a controversial radio interview he did on Friday (September 14th) with Atlanta's V-103.

Before we go into his drama with Tiffany Haddish, let's discuss the drama that unfolded on radio between the comedian and V103 "Frank & Wanda In The Morning" co-host Wanda Smith.

While discussing Katt cooking for his 7 children, Katt and Wanda started throwing jabs back and forth, which resulted in Katt roasting Wada live on the radio. Wanda fired shots at Katt over his hair and arrest record and that's when ish hit the fan. Katt started going in about her weight, her looks, her wig and her cooking skills.

You can watch their exchange in the video below starting at the 13-minute mark.

After the interview, Wanda and Katt crossed paths outside of the Atlanta Comedy Theater Saturday night, where Wanda regularly hosts. Katt came out to show support for another comic who was performing.

A verbal altercation began and that's when Wanda's husband, LaMorris Sellers, allegedly pulled out a gun on Katt Williams. The comedian told Gwinnett County police Wanda's husband pointed a gun at him outside of the comedy club. Wanda's husband LaMorris claims otherwise.

The AJC got ahold of the police report that states LaMorris said his gun "had fallen out." He confirmed to the cops he did chase Katt into a nearby supermarket, but he never pointed his gun at him.

According to the police report, the incident between Katt and Wanda's husband "stemmed from an interview that Wanda conducted with Katt previously in Atlanta."

Wanda went on the air this morning to plead her case, saying, "I am not playing victim. I am not a jokester like that. I don’t know how to do that. He did it. He won. It threw me off.”

She said Katt walked up on her outside of the club and that's when her husband intervened. And chile, it was reportedly caught on surveillance video.

The AJC reports:

Smith on the air said when Williams saw her on the sidewalk outside the club, he approached her and said, “I told you f**kin’ with me will make you go viral!” That’s when her husband got upset but on air, she said for legal reasons, she couldn’t get into it.

The police report said Williams told the cop that Sellers pointed a gun to his face. “Katt and his security guard fled [to] the Food Depot next door where the officer had his initial contact with them,” the report said.

Sellers told the cops that Williams “had a verbal altercation with Wanda. He said that Katt indicated that he wanted to fight. According to LaMorris, he approached Katt and chased him into Food Depot where he left him and returned to the Atlanta Comedy Theater. When asked if he had a gun on him, he said yes. LaMorris stated that as he was chasing Katt, his gun fell from his waistband and he bent to retrieve it however, he never pointed it at anyone.”

Video from the Food Depot showed Sellers chasing Williams but no evidence of a gun, the report said. The comedy theater management told the officer they couldn’t access the video from the club’s vantage point.

Lordt! The investigation is still ongoing.

Also in the interview...

The newly crowned EMMY winner bashed Tiffany Haddish, who recently copped a stand up comedy special with Netflix, and her "overnight success" since her breakout role in Girls Trip. He feels like Tiffany has yet to prove herself as a real comedian and that her attraction to white men is why she has been so successful.

During the interview, he said:

“You only have Tiffany Haddish. She has been doing comedian since she was 16. You can’t tell me your favorite Tiffany Haddish joke. Why? Because she ain’t done a tour yet. She ain’t done a special. She has not proven the ability to tell jokes, back to back for an hour to nobody. They all ready to down Mo’Nique and up somebody who has showed them Girls Trip. Did you think she wrote Girls Trip, goofball? Or do you think that was already a script and they handed it to her? It’s up to you whatever you want to believe. I’m the introduction to Tiffany Haddish in the movie School Dance.”

He then went on to add:

“They like her because she want to sleep with a white man. That's why the only thing she said was I want to give it to Brad Pitt. She had a white husband for the 14 years she’s been doing comedy and then all of a sudden divorced him. Then said he abused her. Then wrote a book. Then said he didn’t and then now we’re at Brad Pitt.”

Umm...Tiffany's ex-husband wasn't white, Katt. Watch Katt go in on Tiffany above at the 6-minute mark.

In the interview, he also spoke ill of a few male comedians as well. Peep the full interview above.

The Night School actress, who also recently copped an EMMY award for her SNL gig, caught wind of Katt's criticism, so she hopped on Twitter to respond. "It’s official I made it!," she tweeted. "@KattPackAllDay talked about me and didn’t have his facts right! #Iwin #sheready I look forward to seeing you on Monday Katt, when we pick up our Emmys. I just want to shower you with REAL Love cause you need it, and I Love you"

Tiffany's Night School co-star/friend Kevin Hart came to her defense, which wasn't a surprise since Kev and Katt don't get along. Here's what he had to say:

“I have to embrace my sister when other people are choosing to frown and make an attempt to shit on my sister’s bright light," he said on Instagram Live. “I choose to turn up the knob and make that light brighter." Peep the clip above.
