LOVE LETTERS + INSPIRATION: Michelle Obama Covers NY Times Style Magazine In One Of Her Most Authentically Stunning Shoots Yet

This New York Times Style Magazine shoot....a MOMENT!  FLOTUS Michelle Obama gave us authentic, beautiful blackness for this shoot.  And it's arguably her most stunning one yet.  Get the pics inside that have everyone in a tizzy, plus the love letters written to her in the issue by fellow amazing women.

For The Greats issue of NYT's Style magazine, it's only right our First Lady -- wearing Roberto Coin earrings and a Calvin Klein Collection top, gets top billing.  There are several other covers for the issue with other Greats, but this one is something special.

The chic, gorgeous, and strong Chicago-born beauty is flawlessly serving in a way that's taking folks' breath away.  The love letters saluting her greatness accompanying the Collier Schorr-shoot are pretty much perfect.  What she's meant to the progression of feminism, career-family balance, and black womanhood have not been overlooked.

Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, author of the novel “Americanah” and book-length essay “We Should All Be Feminists,” wrote one of the four love letters comprising the story.  Here's an excerpt:

She first appeared in the public consciousness, all common sense and mordant humor, at ease in her skin. She had the air of a woman who could balance a checkbook, and who knew a good deal when she saw it, and who would tell off whomever needed telling off. She was tall and sure and stylish. She was reluctant to be first lady, and did not hide her reluctance beneath platitudes. She seemed not so much unique as true. She sharpened her husband’s then-hazy form, made him solid, more than just a dream.

But she had to flatten herself to better fit the mold of first lady. At the law firm where they met before love felled them, she had been her husband’s mentor; they seemed to be truly friends, partners, equals in a modern marriage in a new American century. Yet voters and observers, wide strips of America, wanted her to conform and defer, to cleanse her tongue of wit and barb. When she spoke of his bad morning-breath, a quirky and humanizing detail, she was accused of emasculating him.

Because she said what she thought, and because she smiled only when she felt like smiling, and not constantly and vacuously, America’s cheapest caricature was cast on her: the Angry Black Woman. Women, in general, are not permitted anger — but from black American women, there is an added expectation of interminable gratitude, the closer to groveling the better, as though their citizenship is a phenomenon that they cannot take for granted.

 photo michelle-obama-slide-PRGV-master675_zpseixi9vyt.jpg

Another excerpt describing Mrs. O's epic trajectory, now in 2016:

She had become an American style icon. Her dresses and workouts. Her carriage and curves. Toned arms and long slender fingers. Even her favored kitten heels, for women who cannot fathom wearing shoes in the halfway house between flats and high heels, have earned a certain respect because of her. No public figure better embodies that mantra of full female selfhood: Wear what you like.

It was the 2016 Democratic Convention. Michelle Obama was speaking. She said “black boy” and “slaves,” words she would not have said eight years ago because eight years ago any concrete gesturing to blackness would have had real consequences.

She was relaxed, emotional, sentimental. Her uncertainties laid to rest. Her rhythm was subtler, because she no longer needed it as her armor, because she had conquered.

The insults, those barefaced and those adorned as jokes, the acidic scrutiny, the manufactured scandals, the base questioning of legitimacy, the tone of disrespect, so ubiquitous, so casual. She had faced them and sometimes she hurt and sometimes she blinked but throughout she remained herself.

Michelle Obama was speaking. I realized then that she hadn’t been waiting to exhale these past eight years. She had been letting that breath out, in small movements, careful because she had to be, but exhaling still.

Just, everything.

Actress Rashida Jones wrote one of the love letters as well, and she summed up things perfectly:

If feminism’s goal is equal opportunity and choice, Michelle makes me feel like every choice is available. You can go to Princeton and Harvard, you can rap with Missy Elliott, you can be a mother and a lawyer and a powerful orator. You can champion the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act, while also caring about fashion. You can dance with Ellen and also fearlessly remind people, on live television, of the reality of your position: “I wake up every morning in a house that was built by slaves. And I watch my daughters, two beautiful, intelligent, black young women, playing with their dogs on the White House lawn.” You can be your husband’s partner and supporter, and also use your cultural and political capital to campaign for Hillary Clinton, unflinchingly standing up to her “locker room talk”-ing bully of an opponent with the battle cry “enough is enough!” — eloquently putting into words what a lot of people, myself included, had been feeling.

Michelle Obama will have her own legacy, separate from her husband’s. And it will be that she was the first first lady to show women that they don’t have to choose. That it’s okay to be everything.

You can read the love letters in full, plus two more from iconic feminnist Gloria Steinem and Pulitzer Prize-winning biographer John Meachem (who wrote President George Bush's life story) HERE.

Russell Westbrook Flosses Eclectic Style For GQ, Gets REAL About Kevin Durant Relationship + Nicki Minaj Says Meek Mill’s Beefs Are Played Out

 photo DETAN1.png

Russell Westbrook is showing off his fashion vibes on the cover of GQ magazine. Say what you want about his sometimes WTF-worthy style, but dude just landed the cover of a major fashion magazine.

Meanwhile, Nicki Minaj opens up in a new interview about why her boyfriend Meek Mill’s beefs are played out. Get it all inside…

Oklahoma City Thunder baller Russell Westbrook is no stranger to fashion. And its very clear after basketball, Russell will continue making a name for himself in the fashion world.

In his new GQ magazine cover story, he talks about his relationship with his former teammate Kevin Durant, he gets real about his game and why stylists are a waste of money.

The NBA point guard shows off his eclectic style for the masses. He always wears whatever he wants, doesn’t care to follow trends, and he aims to never wear the same combination of clothes more than once. He rocks to the beat of his own drum, meaning when you see him all dressed up, that’s all him. No stylists involved.

“And that's why a stylist, for me, is just a waste of money,” Westbrook tells the publication. “It would take away from my creative side. And the most important thing about fashion is being creative and being able to have your own ideas.”

 photo DETAN2.jpg

As for basketball, everyone was shocked when his teammate Kevin Durant decided to leave the Thunder for the Golden State Warriors after playing with Russell for eight seasons.

It was reported Russell was hurt and angry over Kevin’s decision, but Russell hasn’t said much to the media about his true feelings. So have Russell and Kevin talked much since Kevin’s departure?

“Uhh, not much, no,” he says.

He offered up a very careful response to Kevin leaving the Thunder.

“I mean, obviously in the NBA there's a lot of different decisions that people make,” he says. “The whole thing in the NBA is that people sometimes have an opportunity to go where they want. And Kevin chose a place where he wanted to go.”

Gotta to respect that.

Russell has a mantra that has governed his disposition as long as he's been in the spotlight: Why not? It’s a saying that goes back well before he was famous.

“My friends and I started that motto early in high school,” Westbrook says.“That attitude, that mentality, from way back then: Want to go to Stanford? Why not? Want to play in the NBA? Why not? I was never the best player. Not ever in my life. Though even when I was younger, I felt that on any given day I could be. And that mentality's what's helped me get over the hump each and every day to where I was meant to go."

That's a good mantra to have.  You can read Russell’s full interview over at GQ.

Check out Russell getting his male model on in the fashionable spread below:

In another new interview...

 photo Screen Shot 2016-10-18 at 10.09.01 AM.png

Nicki Minaj is busy making media rounds, calling into HOT 97 for an in-depth interview about what she has going on at the moment. The Head Barb hasn’t been in the limelight that much in the last few months, but now that she has a new album in the works, she’s stepping back into the spotlight.

While the Young Money rapper has been rather quiet lately, her name remains in headlines due to her boyfriend Meek Mill’s multiple rap beefs. Meek has exchanged words/diss tracks with Drake, Wale, The Game, Beanie Sigel and Nicki’s ex Safaree Samuels, to name a few. And Nicki is pretty much over it all.

While she calls his “beefs” played out, she believes all publicity is good publicity.

She spills:

“I think everybody’s over it. Come on. It’s pretty played out. It’s over. Sometimes you’re put in a position and you react…But let me tell you something, I do not believe there’s any such thing as negative publicity. That’s what I tell him: ‘You must have something people see in you.’ There’s a lot of things I know about other rappers that I just be quiet because as a man, rapper, and artist, he runs his shit the way I run my shit. He’s the boss of his stuff. I don’t want to step in too much because it’s not my place. Behind the scenes, I’m such a rapper that I’m always critiquing everything, even with him…But he gotta live his own life at a certain point in terms of his career choices. I strongly believe that great music changes everything. If ni**as got your name in they mouth for a year or two, thank them. If you come out with great music after all of that, nothing matters.”

As the Barbz patiently wait for the follow up to the Pinkprint, Nicki reveals she has something special she wants to release to the world. And it may come in the form of a Remy Ma/Foxy Brown collaboration.

“When I was working on The Pinkprint, I wanted to do a song with Remy and Foxy," she says. “I still have the song to this day. It was on a Diplo beat, but was super hood and hard. I love them both so I think that’s only a matter of time before she and I do something.”

Get ready!

Take a listen to the rest of Nicki’s interview where she talks about meeting (and fanning out) Lauryn Hill for the first time, having dinner with Jay Z, Beyonce and T.I., empowering women, her "epic" upcoming album, the power of social media and more below:

The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame nominations are in!  Our faves are on deck to get the ultimate musical salute...

Janet, Tupac, Chaka, Chic....induct them all!

YBF artists Janet Jackson, Tupac Shakur, Chaka Khan and the band Chic have been nominated for the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame 2017 induction.  They make up the list of 19 nominees alongside bands Pearl Jam, Journey, Electric Light Orchestra.

This is Janet's second go-round being nominated, and hopefully she gets her rightful place in music history this year.  This is Tupac's first year of eligibility, as artists must have released their first single or album at least 25 years ago to be considered.  2Pacalypse Now dropped in 1991.

As the official process gets underway to choose the inductees, fans can vote as well on rockhall.com.  The top 5 artists with the most fan votes will comprise the "fans' ballot" that will be considered in the selection process.

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame 2017 inductees will be announced December 2016.  The induction goes down in New York City in April 2017.

YBF chicks Kelly Rowland and Sevyn Streeter are heating up the music scene. Take a listen to a snippet of Kelly Rowland’s new track “Conceited” and check out Sevyn’s new sexy visuals for “D4L” inside….

If this is a sign that Kelly Rowland is closer to releasing a new album, we’re excited. The gorgeous R&B singer just released a sensual new track titled “Conceited” and we’re loving it.

The song is just over a minute long, but Kelly’s vocals on the short track are flawless. The way her voice floats over the melody and with the heavy drums providing the beat, it’s the perfect song to vibe out to.

The sexy mom and wife has been hard at work in the studio working on the follow up to Talk a Good Game, which she released in 2013. After putting her new girl group June’s Diary together, it appears she’s ready to make a splash of her own.

Take a listen to “Conceited” below:

Last week, Kellz released visuals to her club-ready track “Dumb,” featuring Trevor Jackson. Chick busts some new dance moves while singing about riding that stick like a solider. Ow!

Take a peek below:

Definitely feels like that album is right around the corner.

In another new video....

Sevyn Streeter is down for whatever to keep her relationship H-O-T.

The R&B singer just released sexy new visuals for her track “D4L” where she transforms into several seductive characters as role-play for her man. Yeah, chick knows a thing or two about keeping her man happy and how to have fun in a spontaneous way.

She turns into dominatrix-like "Trixy", sultry teacher "Ms. Streeter", and confident "Kitty" for an exciting new way to keep the spice in the relationship. She tells Billboard,"My song ‘D4L’ is all about keeping the spice in your relationship. I think it's sexy and exciting to switch up your looks and give your man different sides of you, do a little role play! I wanted to visually show the different sides that can live within any woman for her man."

Get into her characters (and get a few pointers) above.

Kerry Washington and her husband Nnamdi Asomugha welcomed their second child together, a baby boy! And he made his arrival two weeks ago. Find out what they named him and more inside…

Kerry Washington and Nnamdi Asomugha are parents again!

The happy couple welcomed a bouncing baby boy to join the family fold. And since the “Scandal” star and the retired NFL player like to keep their personal life super private, we’re just finding out about their new bundle of joy making his arrival.

 photo kerryb2.jpg

According to E!, their new baby boy was born two weeks ago on October 5th and they named him Caleb Kelechi Asomugha. Baby Caleb will join his big sister Isabelle Amarachi Asomugha, who was born in April 2014. We didn't learn about Isabelle's birth until two weeks later as well.

There aren’t any other details at this time, which is expected because Kerry and Nnamdi are all about their privacy.

Production for season six of “Scandal” was pushed back so that the EMMY nominated actress could focus solely on her pregnancy. You’ll recall, producers hid her first pregnancy with strategic angles and loose clothing.

Congrats to Kerry and Nnamdi on their new addition. We know they’re over the moon!

POTUS told the media earlier today, “Today is bittersweet for Michelle and I because this marks the final official visit and state dinner of my presidency.  But it’s OK. We saved the best for last.”

And that, they did.

DUNZO! Azealia Banks Allegedly Cuts Ties With RZA After Russell Crowe Fiasco

 photo azrza.jpg

Azealia Banks was set to sign to RZA’s record label, but after that showdown at Russell Crowe’s hotel she wants nothing to do with him musically. Deets inside….

Rapper Azealia Banks is DONE with Wu-Tang Clan's RZA.

The 25-year-old artist was set to sign to RZA’s record label, but she backed out of the deal before she could sign on the dotted line. The reason? She feels betrayed by RZA after an alleged altercation that went down at Russell Crowe’s Beverly Hills hotel room over the weekend.

According to reports, Azealia started making threats to cut guests with glass after she allegedly made remarks about his “old white man music.”

The "212" raptress claims Russell called her the n-word, choked her, spat on her and then kicked her out of his hotel room during a get together he hosted. The Harlem native came as a guest of RZA’s.

In a now deleted Facebook post, Azealia details what went down:

"To recap my night, I went to a part(y) at Russell Crowe's suite, at which he called me a n****r, choked me, threw me out and spat at me. I wish I had someone to beat him up for me.”

Folks in RZA’s camp claims Azealia’s claims are BS and that she’s “full of it.”

After the incident, Azealia filed a police report against the Australian actor with claims that he choked her, spat on her and called her the n-word.

In a new interview with E!, Azealia shares more details (play by play) of what happened that night in Russell Crowe’s hotel. She’s DEMANDING a public apology from Russell and said that she feels like she had to come forward with her story, not just for herself, but for all women in Hollywood.

The site reports:

Banks said she was originally at the hotel for a business meeting with rapper and film directorRZA, which eventually turned into her meeting up with him at a dinner party with Crowe and a bunch of what she described as "old Hollywood dudes." After she claimed to have joked with them about making horror movies and poking fun at their work, she said feelings got hurt and Crowe turned to her and said, "Hey, you haven't done anything in your career, so you have no right to tell him about horror."

The musician recalled how, shortly thereafter, another drunk woman started getting "aggressive" with her and threatening her. Banks told her, "This is not how this is going to go," she explained. "I said, 'If I throw something at you and you get hurt, then the party is going to be done. Then we're all going to look bad and it's going to be a terrible night.'"

At that point, Banks said Crowe turned to her so that only she could hear and whispered in her ear, "Even if you tried, you wouldn't even get close enough, you n----r."

She continued, explaining, "Next thing you know, I'm getting choked up, I'm getting dragged out of this room and spat on. I felt betrayed, I felt humiliated, I felt low. It almost felt like a set-up."

She said no one in the room came to her defense, not even RZA, and though she wants to give him the benefit of the doubt (considering he cast Crowe in his film The Man With the Iron Fists), she felt like she needed to do something.

Originally, she shared the story to Facebook, but then thought better of it, deleting the post. When TMZ shared details about the evening the following day, she decided to press charges.

"I would like him to apologize to me publicly now because [he] went to TMZ, [like an] idiot," she claimed, although Crowe did not speak to TMZ on the record. "I didn't want to press charges because dealing with the police, dealing with the courts is such an inconvenient thing. I don't want this happening. They say I'm doing this for attention. Who wants this kind of attention?"

"I'm pretty sure this happens to women in Hollywood so often, where you get chastised into a corner," she explained. "Even his attorney called me and said something like, 'If you say something about this, then you'll never work in this town again.' I'm pressing [charges] now."

She continued, "He doesn't get it. He thinks I'm just some little black girl from Harlem that doesn't have any backing. They think they can just frame me."

Rihanna is in the Big Apple…slaying, per usual. Get into two fabulous looks she rocked in NYC yesterday when you go inside…

 photo HotelRihanna2.jpg

Seriously, what can’t this chick wear?

Rihanna loves playing with different looks and always seems to pull them off. She's fresh off a quickie vacay back home to Barbados, and her ensembles (and that tan) she rocked yesterday were so Rihanna.

Something as simple as a mini skirt Rih turns into a total fashion statement. Ever realized one of your mini skirts are just TOO short? The “Work” singer has a simple solution for that. Just rock an oversized button-up underneath to keep your goodies hidden.

 photo HotelRIhanna1.jpg

As she made her rounds in the Big Apple yesterday, the fashion maven wore a Vetements denim mini skirt paired with an oversized Vetements striped shirt that she pulled under the skirt.

 photo boomm5.jpg

Sock boots have become the latest obsession in the fashion world and Rih is right on trend as always. She teetered on a unique pair of navy blue Balenciaga velvet sock boots and finished the look with a throwback Louis Vuitton “Twisted Box” handbag. Y’all know she loves her vintage pieces.

Speaking of socks....

Rihanna just released a brand new collection of STANCE socks for the masses, available now. Here's a fashion hack: Cut a hole in the bottom of your STANCE socks and pull them over a pair of pumps for the "sock boot" look.

Changing into her evening look...

 photo HotelRihanna3.jpg

Rihanna remerged in another fashion heavy look for a night out with friends this week.

The Bajan beauty, who nabbed seven American Music Award nominations, headed to Nobu Midtown in a Dion Lee pinstripe top, leopard printed Dries Van Noten trousers, a white pair of Gianvito Rossi patent pumps and she finished her look with her Louis Vuitton bag she toted around earlier.

So, which of Rihanna’s looks did she rock best?

On social media, RGIII and Grete have launched a love session all over their Instagram accounts, posting up lovey dovey pics with heartfelt captions confessing their love for one another. It’s like new puppy love between two high schoolers.

In one of their most recent coupledom pics, Grete shared the picture above where they are wearing all black ensembles in which she captioned,“He match my fly #AllBlackErrrthang”

Needless to say, folks are giving her #AllBlackErrrthang hashtag the uber side eye. Hmph.

 photo rgg2.png

Meanwhile, RGIII is rather active on his IG gushing over his new chick, whose name he already has tatted on his arm. Since he’s out with an injury, he has plenty of down time on his hands. He said,“She motivates me to stay on the grind through all the ups and downs and she gonna grind with me. #RideOrDie #DreamCatchers #Focused #LookAtThatSmile #TheSmileSaysItAll #Throwback #Happiness”

Is she now?

Hi Haters! That’s what it looks like Tamar Braxton and Vince Herbert are saying. Peep pics of the couple all smiles and holding hands as they arrived at LAX inside….

What fight?!

Say what you want, but Tamar Braxton and her noticeably slimmer husband Vince Herbert sure know how to shut down rumors. Or at least try to anyway.

The couple was spotted making their way through LAX recently looking like they’re very much together. As they made their way through the airport, they held hands as they walked alongside one another all smiles.

 photo TVINCE1.jpg

You’ll recall, an alleged domestic violence altercation went down at the Ritz Carlton back in August. Then, there were rumors that ANOTHER incident went down where her sister Toni Braxton had to call the cops to the Herberts’ home. Either way, they’re still rocking it out together. They’ve been spotted together on a few occasions since both stories surfaced and Tamar has been posting lovey dovey videos on SnapChat.

 photo TVINCe2.jpg

Speaking of relationships, Tamar's former friend Toya Wright recently revealed why they're no longer friends. In Toya's new memoir titled "In My Own REALity," she shared that the former "The Real" co-host ended their friendship after she appeared on the daytime talk show.  Catch up on that tea...

So, Jazmine Sullivan thought it was a good idea to remember deceased gospel singer Thomas “TC” Clay in a strange (some are calling it self-centered) way. And we can’t figure out why this was the move. Find out what she said inside….

R&B powerhouse Jazmine Sullivan took to her Facebook page to remember deceased gospel singer Thomas “TC” Clay after learning of his death. (As of now, the cause of his death is unknown). Now, we’re sure she didn’t have bad intentions, but her eulogy is a bit…awkward to say the least.

In a Facebook post, she went on and on about how he slid into her DMs trying to get at her and how determined he was to do so. She basically reveals she curved him on several occasions, sharing stories about how he kept “bothering her” and how he tried to win her over by bringing her flowers.

Here’s what she wrote (and has since deleted) along with an attached picture of...herself:

Carmelo Anthony Rocks A Black Beret On ESPN Cover, Gets RAW & REAL About America’s Broken System & Advice For Colin Kaepernick

 photo can1.jpg

Carmelo Anthony gives straight talk, no chaser when it comes to speaking out about America’s broken system in the newest issue of ESPN magazine. Go inside to find out all he said about systemic racism and police brutality, advice he gave Colin Kaepernick and much more….

New York Knicks baller Carmelo Anthony is “woke” and he’s using his platform and influence to school the masses on systemic racism, police brutality and many other issues that the black community faces on a daily.

For the newest issue of ESPN, the NBA baller whipped out his black beret (seemingly a tribute to the Black Panther party) for the cover shot. Inside, her serves up a much-needed conversation about several issues that plague our country, especially issues in the black community. He’s not one to just talk about it. He puts in the work as well.

The 32-year-old baller joined NBA icons LeBron James, Chris Paul and Dwyane Wade for a powerful speech about social injustice and to charge fellow athletes to begin speaking up on injustices against people of color at the 2016 ESPY Awards. He has starred in ads against gun violence and built basketball courts in low-income neighborhoods (in cites like Baltimore, Brooklyn and Puerto Rico). So you see, he’s not just all talk.

So what caused Carmelo to speak up, despite possibly losing endorsement deals from major companies? It was the death of 25-year-old Baltimore man Freddie Gray. Baltimore, the same city he grew up in.

“But when it's powerful, timing is everything, and for me the Freddie Gray thing was the one that tipped me off. It was like something just exploded. It was like [snaps] now was the time. Enough is enough.”

He added “And everybody's calling me like, ‘We should do this’ or ‘We should do that,’ and I was like, ‘I'm going home.’ If you want to come with me, you come with me, but I'm going home. I'm not calling reporters and getting on the news; I'm actually going there. I wanted to feel that. I wanted to feel that pain. I wanted to feel that tension.”

And that’s exactly what he did.

 photo can3.jpg

The NBA superstar goes on to talk about this broken system in America. Not just with police, but education and so on.

“The system is broken,” he said. “It trickles down. It's the education. You've got to be educated to know how to deal with police. The police have to be educated on how to deal with people. The system has to put the right police in the right situations. Like, you can't put white police in the 'hood. You just can't do that. They don't know how to react. They don't know how to respond to those different situations.”

Carmelo revealed a few details about the conversation he had with NFL quarterback Colin Kaepernick the night after he took a knee during the national anthem in a silent protest against police brutality and racial inequality.

“I spoke to him that night,” he said. “He reached out to me that night. And I'm watching and I'm like, ‘OK.’ Like, ‘What's next?’ In a very respectful way, he was like, ‘I took this step and, you know, just wanted to get your thoughts on what's happening.’ And I said, ‘Well, you're courageous.’ I said, ‘You just showed a lot of courage in what you just did, but now is the hard part because you have to keep it going. So if that was just a one-time thing, then you're f*cked. But now you keep it going and be articulate and elaborate on why you're doing it, and be educated and knowledgeable of why you're doing it so when people ask, you can stand up for what you believe in and really let them hear why.’"

 photo can2.jpg

How does being called unpatriotic affect him?

“I mean, you hear it. I just think that's bullshit for somebody to call me unpatriotic. That's totally bullshit. I've committed to this country on many different levels. Committing to USA Basketball since I was 19 years old, playing in four Olympics, going to the different parts of the world. Where they were warring, you know? Traveling to Turkey where they were bombing the building three doors down from us. Going to the games where they've got "Down with the USA" signs out there.”

So how about the black players in the league form their own league and leave the NBA?

"I think the resources are there. I think we're powerful enough. I can only speak for basketball players. We're powerful enough to, if we wanted to, create our own league. But everybody would have to be willing to do that. You have to be willing to say, ‘This is what I'm going to do. I'm supporting this right here.’ Because at the end of the day, the athletes are the league. Without the athletes, there's no league. Without us, there's no them. And they don't think like that. They say, "We're your main source of income, so you're going to need me before I need you." I think you just have to be willing to do that. You have to be willing to make that move, and, you know, strength comes in numbers. If you don't have those numbers, it's not going to work. "The people in the position of power understand now more than ever that some of the athletes are just as powerful as them. And that's the scary part. To know that, 'Somebody I'm paying, you know, is just as powerful as me. We don't want that.'"

It would be so amazing and inspiring to see them do that. Use their resources and make their OWN league!

You can check out his full interview here.

BONUS: Melo's fellow NBAer Kevin Durant is covering the new issue of Rolling Stone, and giving real talk about the hood and more.

Tyga Conveniently Suffers Memory Loss When Asked About His Income + Beyonce’s Head Dancer Ashley Everett Spills Deets (And Gorgeous Engagement Pics)

 photo tywedtease.jpg

How convenient. Tyga suddenly falls ill and suffers memory loss when asked about his income during a hearing in a lawsuit against him. Get the deets and get the inside scoop (and new pics) on Beyonce’s dancer Ashley Everett’s epic engagement inside….

 photo tyloss_1.png

If this doesn’t screams he’s lying!

We told you a legal team would be questioning Tyga about his finances in an effort to see if he could pay off a $200,000 lawsuit against him.

Beverly Hills jeweler Jason Arasheben filed a lawsuit against the “Rack City” rapper after he didn’t pay for a watch and chain he copped back in 2013. Jason had his legal team drag Tyga into a hearing to see if he has enough money to pay it off. And based on his reaction, he may likely never get those funds.

According to TMZ, Jason’s lawyer Alexander Cohen began asking Tyga about his income and assets he owns. Not to mention, how he afforded all those extravagant gifts he has been showering his girlfriend Kylie Jenner with, including a Maybach for her birthday a few months ago.

That’s when Tyga conveniently starts to get sick! He allegedly lost his memory, was confused and eventually said he couldn’t go on with the hearing. Boy bye! Sounds like something fishy is going on.  He's scared to tell on himself about his actual finances, but if he doesn't, that makes Kylie a social media liar about what he's been buying her...

Now, a new hearing has been rescheduled for November 1st. And get this, that’s the same day Kylie is set to be questioned in a separate hearing.

In happier news...

 photo amca1.png

Beyonce’s head dancer Ashley Everett got the proposal of a lifetime when her longtime boyfriend John Silver proposed to her during a performance of “Single Ladies” on a FORMATION World Tour stop in St. Louis in September.

It was EVERYTHING. And now, Ashley is giving the inside scoop on how it all went down. The “Single Ladies” routine had been scrapped from the line up early on, so when she found out it was being added back in, she initially didn’t think too much of it. They had performed it on the tour before, bringing up fans on stage to join in.

“When we started rehearsing it to add it back in, we were all like, ‘Why are we adding it back in now? The tour is almost over, but whatever,” Ashley spilled to Hello Beautiful.

The 27-year-old dancer, who had been dating John since 2010, said when the music stopped and she saw him pop up on stage, she knew it was about to go DOWN. She shared,

“We naturally look over like, there are the stairs, that’s where the fans are going to come up. So, when I saw him, I thought, well obviously he’s not going to get out here and do the ‘Single Ladies’ dance. There wasn’t anyone else with with him. He was by himself. He was in that nice white suit jacket and from the second I laid eyes on him and saw the way he was dressed and how serious, he meant business. I was like ‘OK, this is about to go down.'”

Ha!

 photo amca2.png

After the proposal, Ashley and John were met with “Congratulations” from everyone backstage. But, chick had to get herself together quick and get back into dancer mode to finish the show.

“I was really trying to keep it together up there and not look like a weirdo because we were in front of an audience. I felt out of my element. When I’m on stage, I’m like another character. I’m not Ashley on my couch, I’m the performer Ashley. So to stop the show, and then my man, who I have a life with outside of performing, is walking up. I just felt so vulnerable. That was one of the most special things about it. Bringing my life with him into this world that I have been living in also for a very long time.”

So epic.

Congrats to the couple!

50 Cent, Courtney Kemp &“Power” Producers SUED For Copyright Infringement + Shonda Rhimes Dishes On “Scandal” Writers' Huge Blow Outs

 photo shonpower.jpg

50 Cent, Courtney Kemp and “Power” producers just got hit with a lawsuit for copyright infringement. Damn! Get those deets, plus find out what Shonda Rhimes said about “Scandal” writers duking it out in the writer’s room inside….

 photo powerlaw1.jpg

Your favorite summer series is getting dragged to court!

"Power" producer and star 50 Cent, showrunner Courtney Kemp, several “Power” producers, Starz Entertainment and CBS Studios have been hit with a lawsuit for copyright infringement, fraud and breach of contract.

Larry S. Johnson and Black Keller filed the lawsuit in the California Central District Court yesterday. They have called up lawyers Monique Pressley (former Bill Cosby lawyer) and Olu Orange to represent their case against the hit STARZ series.

 photo powerlaw2.jpg

The plaintiffs are seeking to put an immediate stop to, and obtain redress for, the defendants’ blatant, purposeful and massive infringement of the copyright in Mr. Johnson’s two-part manuscript entitled “Tribulations of a Ghetto Kid.”

Hmm...

According to the lawsuit, Mr. Johnson wrote the manuscript over 12 years ago under his pen name “The Ghost.” Both Mr. Johnson’s works and the POWER series share basic elements such as the exploration of the life of an African-American protagonist drug dealer using his ill-gotten gains to transition into the realm of legitimate business. This isn't a totally unique basis though as we've all seen a movie or two with that basic premise.  The devil is in the details though.

Mr. Johnson also claims that the hit series also borrows character names, plot lines, and nearly identical language from his protected work.

Johnson and Keller are looking to be compensated for the defendants’ wrongful acts. The amount they’re seeking wasn’t specified.

We wonder how this will all play out in court.

In other TV news...

 photo ShondaLA1.jpg

TV titan Shonda Rhimes, above posing it up at the 2016 MIPCOM event in Cannes this week, dished on what goes on behind the scenes in the “Scandal” writer’s room in a new interview.

The Shondaland honcho revealed things get pretty heated when discussing some of the most hated characters on the show.

“We have big arguments,” she said, when the writers express their feelings towards the Rowan Pope and Cyrus Bean characters, calling them “terrible people.”

She continued, “I’m really offended. Cyrus is a patriot. He may go about it the wrong way but to him he’s doing (what he believes). Rowan is just a dad trying to take care of his kid. There may be a lot of murder going on, but he’s trying to take care of his kid the best way he knows how.”

Interesting take on those characters. Most people probably feel Rown and Cyrus are "terrible people," but at the core, according to Shonda, they're really fighting for what they think is right.

Now that lead star Kerry Washington has given birth to her baby boy Caleb, production for season six will hopefully start soon. We can't wait to see what Shonda has in store.

 photo SHONDAE2.jpg

At MIPCOM, Shonda linked up with "Scandal" star Tony Goldwyn, "Scandal" producer Betsy Beers and "The Catch" star Mireille Enos.
