Lupita Nyong'o is finally revealing her Star Wars role.  And giving us a sneak peek at her high tech filming.  Check it inside, plus Will Smith and the Suicide Squad get laced up in costume in first flicks for the film...

Lupita Nyong'o is gearing up to take over the film word again.  After being cast in the soon-to-be legendary Star Wars VII film a year ago, details are now starting to emerge.  She will be playing the role of Maz Kanata. According to Star Wars Wookieepedia:

Maz Kanata was a female pirate. Around thirty years after the Battle of Endor, she owned a castle which played host to travelers, smugglers and other riff raff.

She's featured in Vanity Fair on the high tech set of the film (above) where her facial features are being reproduced for all the on screen effects.

A small galaxy’s worth of tracking dots affixed to Lupita Nyong’o’s face allowed artists at Industrial Light & Magic to transform her into the C.G.I. character Maz Kanata.

The Oscar winner revealed:

The issue of VF is on newsstands now.  Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens hits theaters December 18, 2015.

The upcoming Suicide Squad film is on the way!   The popular DC Comic is getting the Hollywood treatment and here's the synopsis:

A secret government agency run by Amanda Waller, named A.R.G.U.S creates a task force comprised of super villains, the "Suicide Squad". They are assigned to execute dangerous tasks in exchange for shorter prison sentences.
 

Will Smith shaved his head to play the role of Deadshot.  And here he is in full costume:

After an entrance fit for the Empress of China, Rihanna changed into another themed look for the night.

The stage was set for pop music's reigning bad gal to entertain the crowd of well-heeled fashionistas at the 2015 MET GALA "China: Through The Looking Glass" benefiting the Costume Institute. It's one of the most sought after tickets of the year and will set you back $25K.

The list is meticulously curated by VOGUE's Editor-In-Chief Anna Wintour and her approval means everything to attendees.  

Once you get inside the hallowed halls of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, it's ok to let your hair down and even curse a little. In fact, Rihanna hit the stage, wearing a custom-made Maison Margiela antique Chinese silk jacket turned bustier paired with silk trousers, and rocked her track "Bitch Better Have My Money."  And the audience loved it.

Ciara’s sixth studio album dropped yesterday. So this morning, the R&B chick hit up the “TODAY” show to perform the remix to her single “I Bet” and dish on her White House date with Super Bowl Champ Russell Wilson. Check it inside….

Ciara has officially kicked off her return to the music scene, dropping her sixth studio album JACKIE yesterday and kicking off her first tour in six years in Chicago a few days ago. Not only is she making waves on the music scene, she’s also starring in a new NBC television series “I Can Do That,” premiering May 26th at 10/9c.

And apparently, she's living in the gym.  Work!

This morning, CiCi had plenty to chat about with the “TODAY” show co-hosts. Before she hit the stage to perform the remix to her hit single “I Bet” at Rockefeller Plaza, she talked about her White House date with Super Bowl champ Russell Wilson. When asked to dish the dirt on her evening with the Seattle Seahawks QB she spilled,

“Life is amazing and I had such an amazing experience at the White House. We had a great time. It was just so amazing. Life is pretty sweet, I can say that.”

The mother of Baby Future then hopped on stage to break out her dance moves for the Toyota concert series. Check it:

After rocking the stage, CiCi came back to chop it up about her newly found confidence after entering motherhood. She said having her son has changed her life in such a great way and that it has given her a whole new level of confidence. The "Body Party" songstress said her baby boy is featured on one of her tracks that written by Diane Warren and co-produced by CiCi with Harmony Samuels. She said,

“He has a cute little laughing moment. He’s really my good luck charm and just a ball of energy and a ray of light. He’s truly the best thing that has happened to me.”

Ciara also talked about naming her new album after her mother and shared how her mother jokes about being her executive producer and will be signing autographs. Ha!

The “Dance Like We’re Making Love” singer also touched on that extra sexy lap dance she performed on a male fan during her opening night in Chicago. She said she wanted to try something she has never done before.

“It is fun to bring up a fan up on stage and have that cool interaction and give that special experience. That’s what my tour is about, making a special time with my friends.”

Her beauty tips for the ladies: Tons of water and have fun!

One tip for the guys: “Just keep it cool and don’t try to hard.”

We're quite excited to see Nnamdi since he's rarely photographed in public....with his wife. In fact, you're more likely to spot Janet Jackson or a unicorn than see Nnamdi in the spotlight.

You'll recall that at last year's Met Ball, Solange (shown above with Michael Kors and Liya Kebede) attacked Jay-Z in the elevator at the Standard Hotel.  This year, she went to The Mark hotel with her hubby Alan.  As far as we know, she kept her hands to herself.

Zendaya and Miguel (who obviously switched up his attire) were at the Up & Down party. 

Gabriele Union and her hubby Dwyane Wade were spotted playing around like two lovestruck teenagers.

Later, Dwyane was spotted heading into an after party with Usher.  

Rira Ora slipped into a corset for an after party hosted by the Diamond Horseshoe.

Zoe Kravitz and Miley Cyrus hopped onto Lady Gaga's party bus and headed to her party at the Paramount....all while holding hands.  New besties, perhaps?

LaLa Anthony trekked it -- in her Tom Ford heels -- over to The Breakfast Club to dish about her new book The Power Playbook (out today), the new season of "Power," quitting reality tv, and why she and Carmelo Anthony decided not to go to the Fight in Vegas.

We've got the interesting reveals inside....

LaLa's Power 105.1 interview with Angela, Charlamagne and DJ Envy aired this morning, and the foursome of friends chopped it up about everything going o in her career.  And what's not going on.

The makeup guru, author and actress revealed she's not doing her reality tv show ("LaLa's Full Court Life") anymore because it's hurting her acting career.

And about that Mayweather vs. Pacquiao Fight party she hosted at her house Saturday night, she said she had it catered but it was still laid back.  Still, having The Wades and The Wests there definitely caused her home to be surrounded by paparazzi all night. 

Here are the highlights:

On why she and Carmelo didn't go to the fight in Vegas:

"The truth is, Melo said he wasn't paying that much for those tickets. They gave him a great deal, but still, he was like, I'm not paying that much.  And Melo is not a Vegas person.  I love Vegas.  I can stay there for a long time, but he's not into it.  He wanted to fly in for the fight and as soon as it was over, fly right back.  I was like, we're not going to go all that way and party and just...it's not point.

So he said he'd rather just stay here  Melo would rater work out.  Literally, all day long.  After watching the fight, it was great and I was so happy Floyd won, but I was also happy we didn't come out out pockets for all that money for those tickets.  Of course we could have [hosted a party and made it right back], we got some good offers, but we just chilled out.  It was nice."

On a role she auditioned for but didn't get

"I went up for Barbershop 3.  I really wanted that one because it felt like it could have been a great movie.  I love Malcolm Lee and always wanted to work with him.  I got really close and when I didn't get that one,  you get disappointed.  You have to believe what's for you is for you and what for somebody else....

I was like, doing weaves and stuff.  But I liked the role."

On constantly dieting to look good, despite others thinking she always looks great

"I just want to feel good about myself.  I fell off the bandwagon.  I'm starting a new program today to get back on. I'm a chocolate fanatic.  And I like cheap chocolate.  I like Kit Kat and Nestle Crunch."

On how she met husband Carmelo Anthony

"He did tell me that once [that he grew up watching me].  DJ Clue introduced us.  He was like, "Yo, My man been watching you on tv" and this and that.  I was like, I'm not going to mess around with a basketball player.  I just feel like they come with such a stigma.  I didn't want that."

On showing nipple in an upcoming sex scene on "Power"

"On "Power" this upcoming season (episode 4 to be exact), I have my first sex scene!  Carmelo said he understands it, it's my job, but he doesn't want to watch it.  Yeah [I'll be topless]. And yeah [nipples will be out].

To be on "Power", you have to sign a nudity clause off the bat.  At some point, everybody has to show something.  It was tasteful and respectful so I felt good about it.  I'm acting, I'm taking it serious, it comes with a territory.  What, are you never going to do a sex scene and you're an actress?  That's unreasonable."

On quitting reality tv

"Im not doing reality tv anymore.  But I'm producing now.  I'm working on a show with Dice, I'm working on a show with Po, and I want them to continue to grow and do great things.  But reality tv, it's not for me.  I mean, I loved it and had a great run.  I just decided I didn't want to expose so much of my personal life constantly.  And I found that the reality show was hurting me in acting, which is what I'm really trying to do now. 

They look at you as a reality girl like, 'Oh that's the reality girl'.  And they don't take  you seriously.  And your audition has to be 100 times better than anyone else.  So I kinda had to let that go to really now dive in and be taken seriously."

 

She spoke about her book being about helping people find their own power to succeed, why being a woman is so powerful, and working her way up and making her own money.  Check out the full interview below:

Today is Chris Brown’s 26th birthday! And as he celebrates another year of life, the R&B crooner posted a special tribute to his baby girl Royalty on his Instagram. Peep the adorable shot inside and watch Christina Milian's "Rebel" video.

Chris Brown is turning 26 today. And to celebrate, the R&B crooner will kick off his birthday festivities with a pool party at Yacht Club inside Drai's Beachclub in Las Vegas tonight. If you haven’t heard, Breezy’s “Fight of the Century” after party performance kicked off his new DRAI’s LIVE residency at the Vegas hotspot.

While he won’t be performing there every weekend, he has already scheduled his second live show for July 4th.

But before he gets to busting his signature dance moves and partying the night away to celebrate his born day, CB posted a special tribute to his daughter Royalty, showing his softer side. He posted the pic above writing,“I honestly never knew I could love someone as strong as I do. I'm gonna give her the world.”

How cute.

While things were looking on the up and up for Breezy when he was finally taken off probation in the Rihanna assault case after nearly six years, Breezy has found himself back in hot water. Police have named his as a suspect for battery after he allegedly punched a man in the face during a basketball game at the the Palms Casino Resort in Vegas early Monday morning.

Sighs...You can sip that tea HERE.  Fortunately for him, the case has already been dropped.

Let's hope he stays out of trouble tonight while on the Vegas party scene. Happy Birthday Breezy!

Christina Milian chatted up with Entertainment Tonight recently where she exclusively premiered her video for "Rebel", which she says is about Lil Wayne.  It's not our first time hearing CM talk about Lil Wayne, you'll recall that she let "I Love Him" slip from her lips a few weeks ago, and now, we know that the two have recorded more music together.  While discussing the sulty visual and the 5-song EP she has planned, she told ETonline,

On "Rebel"

“It’s safe to say it is about the man in my life, yes. There’s nothing better than that feeling of new chemistry when you’re so into someone and you could care less about what anyone else thinks… and there’s butterflies! It’s a real feeling that people experience.”

On her relationship with Lil Wayne:

“For me, I’m so inspired by the relationship that I’m in that it’s definitely an experience. It’s that careless, hopeless, romantic love – that feeling of ‘I will do anything for you’ and it’s just incredible and so yea, ‘rebel for you’ means ‘I’m all about you.’ We love that!

On possibly getting married again:

“You never know, I mean, love does inspire beautiful things like that,” she shared. “I don’t put too much pressure on one thing but I’m just living freely with him and we’re both very happy. I feel like if you don’t put too much expectations and too much high-hopes into things then everything will fall into place.”

On whether Lil Wayne will appear on her upcoming 5-song EP:

“Wayne for sure, yes. Actually, he just texted me yesterday and said he’s going to be on one of the songs on the EP.”

EJ Johnson is dishing on how many pounds he has lost post-surgery. And it’s major. Congrats! Peep his interview on “WENDY” and get the deets on an alleged cast consisting of former reality stars for a brand new TVOne reality series “The Next 15” inside….

The fabulous EJ Johnson dropped in on the “Wendy Williams Show” to show off his trimmed post-surgery bod and dish on his dramatic 100+ weight lost journey. The “#RichKidsOfBeverlyHills” star & NYU student, who’s currently finishing up his last semester, underwent gastric sleeve surgerylast summer. And now, he's over 100lbs lighter!

He revealed what made him decide to go under the knife to lose weight saying,

“It was just really a tool and I think it was just something to help me jumpstart the life I wanted to lead. I needed that push in the right direction and now my mindset has completely changed.”

The 22-year-old celebrity kid said everything is right and tight and he doesn’t think he’ll need skin graphing surgery after losing so much weight. He also dished on a few tips Star Jones (who also went under the knife to lose weight) shared with him a few months before his surgery, which was arranged by his mother Cookie Johnson.

So does EJ have a boyfriend? He said he does not. Right now, he’s totally focused on being a better him and working really hard to stay looking snatched. And SNATCHED he is.  Work!

On the reality series front....

TVOne announced a brand new reality show titled “The Next 15” during their Upfronts presentation last month. The new show will follow a group of former reality stars (male and female) as they attempt to nab another 15 minutes of fame and “RHOA, Hollywood Divas” producer Carlos King is producing it.

While the official cast has been kept under wraps, it appears a few names have been leaked.

According to TheJasmineBrand.com, former “Basketball Wives: Miami” star Jennifer Williams and former “Flavor of Love” & “I Love New York” star Tiffany Pollard are in the running to appear on the show.

Single sistersGloria and/or Laura Govan are rumored to star on the show. They both could bring interesting storylines as they have parted ways with their former lovers/husbands/babies' daddies, L.A. Clippers baller Matt Barnes and former former Wizards star Gilbert Arenas.

Laura will definitely bring a few extra eyeballs to the season if she decides to do the show. She’s currently involved in a nasty lawsuit against Gilbert after he allegedly kicked her and their kids out of their L.A. mansion. She also recently suffered a miscarriage with her and Gilbert’s child. Oh..and we would love to hear her thoughts on that fake "$1 million" engagement ring Gilbert gave her. Messy.
 

Former “Bad Girls Club” and “Marriage Boot Camp” star Natalie Nunn and former “College Hill” star Ray “Mister Ray” Cunningham are also said to be starring on the show. The show is allegedly set to premiere in the 4th quarter 2015. Do these rumored cast mates make you want to tune in?

Singers Brandy& Michelle Williams both appeared on the "Meredith Vieira" today where they each made shocking revelations. Find out what Brandy said about her career and get the deets on Michelle's troublesome childhood inside.

Grammy-winning singer Brandy kicked off her stint as Roxie Hart in the Broadway production of "Chicago" recently, and she stopped by The Meredith Viera show to dish on how well the show is going and her upcoming projects.  During the chat, Brandy opened up to the audience about feeling "washed up" and like her career was over. 

Meredith: I was so interested when I read you had once said about this time in your life that you feel that your life has started again what do you mean by that?
Brandy: It’s just a new experience. I feel that I am dreaming again. I feel the child in me is awake and I can set a great example for my 12 year old daughter. She saw the show and thought it was so great. That was her mom up there and she’s dreaming. I am so happy. I can’t even contain it. It’s so crazy.
Meredith: It’s so great especially when you go through a period in your life when you start to doubt yourself.
Brandy: Yes, I doubted myself a lot I thought it was over for me. I really started to believe the negative thoughts, 'You’re a has been, washed up, nobody is believing in you anymore.' It was really me, I didn’t believe. 

Later...

Meredith also asked Brandy about possibly appearing on "Empire" and the songstress said she'd LOVE to appear on the show and sing.

Meredith: I am hearing rumors about you and Empire. I am hearing rumors big time.
Brandy: Oh my God. I’m hearing them too and you know what I would love to be a part of Empire in some kind of way. I’ve hung out with Mr. Daniels. We’ve gone out for tea so we might as well just get on set and work.
Meredith: Okay but have you said. I’m him role play.
Brandy: Mr. Daniels it’s about that time. It’s about that time… I’m ready, I’m wiling and I’m able. I’ve been practicing.
Meredith: Do you want to be you or do you want to play a character?
Brandy: I want to be me on Empire because I want to sing, I want to do music as myself.

Michelle Williams joined the show to discuss her "bad" girl side. The Stellar Award Winner revealed that she got into a lot of trouble growing up in Rockford, IL and she even stole her Dad's car. Tenitra Michelle Williams was a wild child! Shocker!

Michelle: I was a terror growing up. Yes, me. I set fires, I stole my father’s car and totaled it. I should have been in jail because I stole his car.
Meredith: So what turned you around?
Michelle: Oh my goodness, just as I got older. Spankings didn’t work for me, none of that worked for me. What worked for me was isolation and time out, well not time out but sticking my nose up against the wall for hours while the kids got to play outside. To write 200 sentences, 'I will not write on the wall with crayon.’ I was horrible growing up. People would say, ‘Oh my God T is coming close the curtains.'

Jamie Foxx is responding to his lackluster performance of the National Anthem before the Floyd Mayweather vs. Manny Pacquiao mega fight over the weekend. Find out what he said inside…

We all know Jamie Foxx can sing. But he definitely missed the mark while singing the National Anthem before the "Fight of the Century" on Saturday. And now, he’s giving us the scoop on what went down.

The actor/singer/comedian stopped by the “Ellen DeGeneres Show” today to break down what went wrong during his performance. He said his inner ears (ear pieces singers use to hear the music and themselves during performances) fell out and he was unable to hear the organ playing due to the loud crowd. He said,

“But what did happen in the ring, my ears came out. My inner ears. My inner ears came out, and I’m singing with an organ so I can’t hear what the organ is doing with the big crowd. So some of it was a little off, but I think in the arena, it killed. The telecast was a little off. But ya know, we still love America.”

Following his performance, he thought he nailed it. The 47-year-old star told Entertainment Tonight everyone told him he sounded amazing, so he didn’t think anything of it until he saw the backlash online and watched his performance. He spilled,

"I...saw Denzel Washington [and] he was like, 'That was amazing,'" Foxx says. "Jim Gray was like, 'You nailed it, it was the best.' Then when we looked on the Internet or somebody told me about the Internet [and] they said, 'Oh people are really clowning you.' Then when I listened I said, 'Oh yeah, we're off. In the stadium, you would have thought I was getting a standing ovation but the telecast it was different -- it was so off," the actor admits.

Before heading inside the gala, the Bajan beauty chopped it up with VOGUE contributing editor Andre Leon Talley and revealed her Guo Pei robe and crystal-embellished headpiece took two years to make! She spilled,

“It was a miracle how it happened actually. I saw this beautiful piece on the Internet. I was researching Chinese couture and it’s made by Guo Pai. It’s so well designed. It’s handmade by one Chinese woman. It took two years to make this.”

Rockstar Lenny Kravitz reunited with his ex-wife Lisa Bonet on the Met Gala red carpet Monday night. And before heading inside the twosome caught up with Andre Leon Talley for one very awkward interview.

Lisa Bonet did not say ONE word. Not one. And appeared to be in a daze so to speak. As Andre and Lenny chopped it up, she just stood there. We’re wondering if she just wasn’t in the mood to talk or if Andre’s comments about her dress may have rubbed her the wrong way. Either way, it was awkward. Check it above.

Beyonce and her high ponytail hit the streets of NYC last night where she dined out with friends.  See the candids inside...

Beyonce dined out in NYC yesterday, rocking the high ponytail she wore at the 2015 Met Gala earlier this week. 

Her day-after-Gala dinner outfit consisted of a sequined Guns N' Roses T-Shirt, a Balenciaga cropped basketweave crepe jacket, ripped blue jeans and red heels. 

Outside of looking fab and beautiful, the Bey Hive wants to know what the Queen has coming down the pipeline.  From what we've been able to gather from a  variety of inside sources, Bey and her hubby Jay Z are putting the final touches on a "duet" album they've produced.  And we suspect she'll pop up during his B-Sides concert in NYC on May 13th too that'll be streamed on...you gessed it...Tidal. 

Speaking of Bey's fab body, Blue Ivy's mommy is looking amazing these days.  She credits her awesome bod to Marco Borge's22-Day Revolution, a whole-food plant-based diet.

Bey wrote the foreword to the book (available now) where she encouraged readers to get in shape."The truth is that if a Houston-born foodie like me can do it, you can too. You just need to try it for 22 days."

New mom Kelly Rowland and her 6-month old son Titan are starring in a brand new commercial for baby laundry detergent Dreft.

The singer-songwriter (who recently hopped back in the studio to work on new music) shared some adorable mommy moments with her baby boy in the new spot as a part of Dreft’s "Journey of Amazinghood" campaign. Kelly teamed up with Dreft to celebrate the amazing moments and stages of babyhood as little Titan goes from a newborn to an active baby.

The proud mom, who nabbed a new singing competition show on BET, dished on her excitement on partnering with Dreft and how she uses the detergent via press release saying,

“I am beyond excited to partner with Dreft as they introduce their new line of products. They are a staple in my laundry room," said Kelly Rowland. "I used Dreft when I was pregnant with Titan to prepare his clothes for his arrival and now that my 'little man' is growing and exploring the world around him, I am thrilled that Dreft's Active Baby will help me clean the messes I know he is going to get himself into! I must admit - I have been using Dreft Blissfuls on my own clothes so I can take that delicious baby smell, that reminds me of Titan, with me wherever I go. A YBF dad in daddy mode....

Grammy nominated singer Tyrese hit the 5 Towers stage to headline a free concert at Universal CityWalk yesterday. And during his performance, he brought his cutie patootie daughter Shayla on stage dressed in all red.

The R&B crooner debuted his upcoming final album Black Rose, where he serenaded the audience with tracks from his LP including a song titled “Shame.” The track is an emotional ballad, which will be accompanied with a 22-minute short film (directed by Paul Hunter), co-starring Jennifer Hudson.

Adorbs! Tyrese's Black Rose album is scheduled to drop in July.

On the movie front....

Tyrese will be starring alongside the Fast & Furious cast in Universal Studios Hollywood’s new thrill ride, “Fast & Furious—Supercharged,” that’s opening on June 25th. And we have the first look at Ty as Roman Pearce from the ride! Following the highly successful box office hit Furious 7, an eighth Fast & Furious film was recently announced, set for release April 14, 2017. Get excited.

Another YBF dad spotted out with his kid....

L.A. Lakers baller Nick Young and his adorable son were spotted in Calabasas yesterday. Aww...Nick's son is too cute!

Since the Lakers didn't make it to the playoffs this year, Nick has some extra time on his hands. The NBA baller and his son stood back and watched Nick's girlfriend Iggy Azalea take horseback riding lessons:

Chris Brown celebrated his 26th birthday with a huge party and live performance in Las Vegas last night.  See pics from the party (which Floyd Mayweather attended) inside and listen to audio from Mariah Carey's"#1 to Infinity" dress rehearsal...

Chris Brown, who recently kicked off his Las Vegas residency at Drai's Beach Club, celebrated his 26th birthday last night following his live performance. He even rained expensive champagne on the crowd of fans who wished him a happy birthday.

In addition to well wishes, Chris got some good news from the police department (for a change).  Shortly before he popped those bottles, he was told that no charges would be filed against him following an alleged fight during a pickup basketball game at 3 a.m. Monday morning. Whew! He dodged that bullet!

Now Chris can put his focus where it should be....on the music!

Boxing champ Floyd Mayweather was spotted partying in the Drais VIP section with a large group of women until 4am.

In addition to Chris' 26th birthday, Floyd was still celebrating his victory over Manny Pacquiao during the"Fight Of The Century."

When we peeped Floyd partying with new chicks last night, it made us wonder if the Bad Medina had been replaced.

For all the naysayers who thought Mariah Carey was washed up vocally, she'll prove that she STILL has the chops during her Las Vegas residency at The Colosseum at Caesar's Palace, which starts tonight.

TMZ managed to get some audio from her dress rehearsal (shown above) and it's clear that "The Voice" is still there. The show is called "#1 to Infinity" and will showcase Mimi's 18 #1 pop hits.  Also, Mariah announced that she'll perform at this year's Billboard Music Awards alongside Britney Spears and Iggy Azalea, Kelly Clarkson, Hozier, Nick Jonas, Ed Sheeran, Sam Smith and Van Halen.

The 2015 Billboard Music Awards, hosted by Ludacris and Chrissy Teigen, will air live on ABC May 17th. In the meantime, check out the dress rehearsal audio here:

After strutting her stuff in a hand-beaded Balenciaga gown at the 2015 Met Ball, “Empire” star Taraji P. Henson jetted from NYC to L.A. yesterday.

Before she starts shooting scenes for the upcoming second season of “Empire,” the YBF chick will be working with Lee Daniels on another project. She’s currently filming for a role in the Richard Pryor biopic, also starring Mike Epps (as Richard) and Oprah (Richard Pryor's grandmother). Work!

Back in NYC....

Lisa Bonet stepped out for a little retail therapy in NYC yesterday after walking the carpet with her ex-husband Lenny Kravitz at the Met Gala Monday night. Her daughter Zoe Kravitz was also in attendance, making it a family affair.

The 47-year-old actress (yep, 47!) is gearing up for the season 2 finale of her drama series "The Red Road" that airs on Sundance TV. She stars as the love interest of her real-life husband Jason Momoa. We can't help but wonder how Jason felt about all of the media attention his wife received showing up on the carpet with her ex-husband.

After 7 years of marital bliss and two kids together, we doubt Jason made a big deal about it.  But Lisa is definitely still a hottie.

Also in NYC....

Singer-songwriter Tinashe hit up Live Nation’s Summer Showcase at the Irving Plaze yesterday. And we're loving her black jumpsuit.

The “2 On” songstress stopped by the Malibu bar for a few cocktails before partying it up.

And look who else was there...

Rapper and dad Wiz Khalifa posed it up on the carpet alongside “TODAY” show co-host Hoda Kotb. Fun times.

Amber Rose's estranged husband is currently gearing up to kick-off his “Boys of Zummer” tour with Fall Out Boy next month. Wiz and Fall Out Boy will hit the stage for their first show at the Susquehanna Bank Center in Camden, NJ on June 10th and will wrap up the tour at the Hollywood Bowl on August 10th.

Common is addressing the drama that entails Kean University axing him as commencement speaker. And he also reveals why he lip locked with a fan during a performance last month. Get the deets on Common and also get info on Prince’s upcoming Mother’s Day performance for peace in Baltimore inside….

Grammy Award winner Common is speaking out after Kean University announced him as this year’s commencement speaker and then abruptly having a change of heart. The Oscar winner was set to deliver a speech at the May 21st ceremony, but New Jersey State Troopers weren’t having it. They are all up in arms over Common’s 2000 track “A Song for Assata,” a track about Assata Shakur, who was convicted in 1977 of killing Trooper Werner Foerster in 1973. Assata eventually escaped from prison and has been living in Cuba as a fugitive.

The “Glory” rapper trekked it back to his hometown and chopped it up with Chicago's WGCI 107.5 radio Kendra G after he delivered his commencement speech at the City Colleges of Chicago graduation (above) over the weekend. Kean University may have changed their mind, but it’s clear he has the support of the place he calls home.

When asked how he felt about New Jersey State Troopers protesting his speech at Kean University he said:

“I was disappointed I couldn’t speak for the students because they were expressing their wants to have me come out and speak. I also recognize that things that I stand for and believe in, if someone doesn’t want me there for that reason then I’m not going to go. If someone is saying we don’t want you hear because I supported Assata Shakur, who is someone who I believe to be an innocent. Who was a Freedom Fighter. A woman who was apart of the Blank Panthers. Because I did a song about her, if they don’t want me to speak at a college because of that reason, then I mean, I still support her.”

Nice.

He also opened up on why he decided to kiss a fan on the lips during a performance last month. And it’s clear: He’s a single guy and got caught up in the moment. He said,

“Yes I’m a single man. That was like in the moment performance. We on stage, I’m doing a romantic song with her and I just gave her a kiss. I’m a single guy or I wouldn’t have did that.
 

Not mad.  Just a bit jealous...

The Chi-town native also talked about how it feels to be an Academy Award winner, how Kanye West helped him gain confidence, why he’s traveling to Baltimore and more. Below are the highlights:

On where he keeps his Oscar:
“It’s in my house in L.A.” He said he normally gives his awards for his mother to keep but decided to keep the Oscar with him.

On why Chicago means so much to him:
“The city of Chicago just mean so much to me. It’s my home. I care about their well being about the people here. This is the place that is the root and foundation of who I am. I see the people in my city, they need opportunities and they need support. I’m looking for ways I can give that support and utilize my resources. That’s why I give back.”

On Kanye West helping him to believe in himself:
“I’ve been in the game 12-13 years before Kanye [West] came out but I learned from him. This guy was just really confident and willing to be open with that confidence and not worry about how other people felt about it. And I think that’s a really admirable trait to have. People like Muhammad Ali, they carried that trait. We [black people] have to learn how to embrace our greatness.”

On going out to Baltimore:
“What I'm going to do is what I feel like is important to the process of helping communities. I go out and listen to what’s going and try to see what the community needs. I’m connecting with some of the people just to hear what the community needs and how we can deliver what resources I can get with other artists and other activists. I just really go in and see where I can help.”

On his upcoming projects:
“It’s based in Chicago but we’re going to film some of it in Atlanta. But it’s Chicago based. It’s a lot of the cast from the original barbershops. I’m really excited about it. We got Ice Cube, Anthony Anderson, Cedric the Entertainer, Nicki Minaj, J.B. Smoove. And I’m also doing Suicide Squad with Will Smith, Viola Davis and Jared Leto. And I’m doing another movie called Hunter Killer.

Coming this Sunday....

Prince will be showing support to Baltimore with a performance on Mother’s Day after the uprising in the weeks before, following the death of 25-year-old Freddie Gray while in police custody.

The Purple One will be hitting the stage at the Royal Farms Arena for the “Rally 4 Peace” concert on Sunday. The event is meant to be “a catalyst for pause and reflection” following the recent looting, riots and protests that plagued the city after the young man’s death. He will be joined by his band 3RDEYEGIRL and a portion of the proceeds will benefit youth charities in Baltimore. Sweet!

The "Rally 4 Peace" concert comes on the heels of Freddie's death being ruled a homicide by State's Attorney Marilyn Mosby and six police officers being charged in his death, including a murder charge for one officer.

Mother's Day is around the corner...and Tina Knowles is giving us the most heartfelt words we've heard from the Knowles-turned-Lawson matriarch  Check out her letter to the women she considers her four daughters inside....

Tina Knowles' is putting her love on top!  In a social feature for TIME magazine, the 61-year-old newlywed is shouting her motherly love from the rooftop, by way of an incredibly sweet open letter.

She may have birthed only Beyonce and Solange Knowles, but she says in her letter she still feels like a mom to Kelly Rowland and niece Angie Beyince.

From dishing about the girls being her post-divorce nurturers to the qualities she loves about each, we're all up in our feelings over here.

To Beyoncé, Solange, Kelly and Angie

When I was asked to write an open letter to you, I thought about the hundreds of texts and emails that I have sent to you on holidays and on Sundays, when I ask you to say a prayer to thank God for each other. Every day, I wake up thinking about how much I love, admire and cherish each of you.

I gave birth to two of you, but I have four incredible daughters. Writing this brought to mind all the ways you guys have been such a blessing to me.

When I’m feeling sad or not-so-cute or maybe a little sorry for myself, and you all include me in your group chat and tell me how hot I still look or how cool I am. Maybe you send me a crazy YouTube video. What actually works best is a cute photo of my grandchildren.

I remember slumber parties after my divorce, when we watched old movies and ate a lot of ice cream. I felt so loved and supported. The roles were reversed, and it was ME who needed nurturing.

I remember my first date when every one of you weighed in on what I should wear.

The obvious things about all of you are apparent. You are all strong, beautiful, intelligent and smart businesswomen. You are so much more than that. You are all kind, generous and you treat people well. You are all amazing mothers, wives, daughters, sisters and friends. All of you have total self-respect.

Beyoncé, I wish people could see how you are when you’re not in front of the camera or on the stage. How compassionate and kind you are to people, how you look them right in the eye when you speak to them. How hard you work, how generous you are with your time and money. How you don’t care if anyone knows about it because you do it from the heart. I wish they could see you with the Make-A-Wish Foundation kids, how patient you are and how your love has helped to extend lives. Yes, you are a huge star, but you have somehow managed to stay grounded and humble in the wake of all your success.

Solange, I knew when you were born three days late that you would walk to the beat of your own drum. You were always my rebel warrior! Always defending the underdog and fighting for what you believe in. I remember you, at 10 years old, started a petition to remove a bad teacher, and your dad and I were so proud of you. I love that you do not let others define who you are, or what you are. Whether in your music, fashion or your life, you truly are your own incredible, unapologetic person! As tough as you are, you will drop everything to take care of someone you love.

Kelly, I know without a doubt that you were a true gift from God. You came to live with us when you were only 11 years old. You were the sweetest, most kind person I had ever met and you still are. You are also a true survivor. You never give up. Your discipline and drive always inspires me. You make me want to take better care of my body and constantly motivate me to exercise and take time for myself. You have the best listening skills and are a loyal friend to many. I’ve seen you take the jewelry off of your arm and give it to someone because you wanted to make them feel good.

Angie, you are my niece, but we have always been more like mother and daughter! You were always so mature, always challenging me and questioning why. (Fortunately I never believed in the “Because I said so” or “I’m the adult” crap, either.) I always trusted that you would look out for and protect Solange, Kelly and Beyoncé, and you did! You still do sometimes. You are so smart and perceptive, and you see through bullshit right away! You’ve always had our backs. Our own family fixer!! You know I call you Olivia Pope!!!!!

I’m often asked, what was my most proud moment? I would have to say it was at my recent wedding, when all four of you said in your own words that I taught by example and that I helped to make you the women you are today!!!! That was truly my proudest moment!

26-year-old Chris Brown, a Taurus, posted a birthday shoutout to his three favortie ladies via Instagram.  Read it inside and get the explosive deets about Terrence Howard's sexploitation plot!

Earlier today, we shared photos from Chris Brown's 26th birthday party bash at Drai's Beach Club...and he's still beaming from the night's festivities. 

Chris, who reps for the May birthdays (not perfectly though), woke up in such a cheery mood that he posted a message to his three favorite ladies, and they're all May babies too!  Chris' mom Joyce Hawkins, his ex-girlfriend Karrueche Tran (who turns 27 on May 17th) and his daughter Royalty (May 27th).  He wrote,

"Thx for making my bday a special.. All my friends family etc.. #taurus season.. I have three special ladies celebrating this month. Mother's Day for momma. May 17th miss you know who. And May 27 is my baby #Royalty be humble and learn that it doesn't take effort to love! We create our own outcome and destiny in life. My paths has been a very blessed 26 years on this planet and I'm still learning. I can only be the best I can be. Sorry enough wit the rants! Love y'all! Thank god! I'm grateful and so thankful"

Hmm.....we suspect that Ms. Tran is going to get a really nice birthday gift from Mr. Brown after all she's been through this year.  We know it's only a matter of time before she returns to play stepmommy.  Stay tuned...

In other news, we've just learned that Chris has been booked to appear on next week's "American Idol" finale where he'll take part in a tribute to Michael Jackson.

The tribute/season finale, airing next Tuesday and Wednesday on Fox, will feature Michael's brothers The Jacksons, Echosmith, Fall Out Boy, Vance Joy, Ricky Martin, Michael McDonald, Janelle Monáe, Nile Rodgers and Prince Royce, New Kids on the Block, Pitbull, Jamie Foxx and Steven Tyler.

While celebrating his 26th birhtday at Drai's Beach Club last night, Breezy's daughter Royalty was plastered on the big screens, waving at her daddy to wish him Happy Birthday. Adorbs.

Attention Terrence Howard fans, we were VERYCLOSE to seeing his penis, but he shut that ish down. We'll explain. A few weeks ago, we told you about Terrence bringing litigation against his ex-wife Michelle, whom he claims blackmailed him with some dirty pics. Now, we've got MORE deets about the extortion plot. Grab a cup.... 

New docs filed by Terrence's attorney Brian Kramer claims there are secret recordings of the ex-Mrs. Michelle Howard saying:

"I can make a good $2 million right now ... you want to see your little **** out there in front of TV?"

and...

"Trust me, you're f****** with the wrong person. You f***** with me way too much. I will f****** bury you deep in the ground."

and...

she threatened to tell every woman in the world he gave her an STD (sidebar - he didn't say which one).

As we told you during our previous breakdown of their battle, Terrence gave Michelle a HUGE alimony settlement, which he later claimed he only did to keep the XXX stuff off the black market.

But now...T Howard wants the judge to throw out the settlement agreement so he doesn't have to pay the balance. Michelle's current settlement runs for another year, but that would give her access to major coins from his "Empire" salary, which is expected to increase for season 2.

Hmm....while Michelle was worried about Terrence's $2million penis, she should have focused on his balls because he's showing he's got some. He is NOT BOTHERED by her and her demands anymore. In fact, XXX pics might HELP his career.

We've also spotted Kelly in the studio recently, so we can assume she's working on new musical offerings and a new album is possibly in the works.

Just like Raven, Kelly stopped to snap a fun "us-ie" with a fan. Cute!

OKC baller Russell Westbrook brought his fashion flare to the Big Apple. The NBA player was spotted donning a pair of black skinny distressed jeans as he made his way to dinner last night.

Since the Thunder didn’t make it to the playoffs, Russell has a little extra time on his hands during the off season. The eyewear desinger had one heck of a season, coming in the No.4 spot for the NBA MVP voting despite missing 15 regular games. He also holds the top spot as the NBA Scoring Leader for the 2014-2015 season. This year’s MVP Award went to Golden State Warriors guard Stephen Curry.

Shaunie O'Neal& Tami Roman are returning to "Basketball Wives" and they want you to know why...while Holly Robinson Peete and fam land their own reality show on OWN.  Deets inside...

So......Shaunie O'Neal is returning to the land of ratchetness this season on BBW LA. And she's bringing Tami Roman along for the ride.

Both ladies joined the cast for season 4 and Shaunie talked about the changes with Hip Hollywood. If you're wondering why she joined (cause she certainly doesn't need the money), she said,

“It just needed something. And I think it gets good, it almost gets competitive unintentionally.”

Tami and Shaunie will be "competing" with Draya Michele, Jackie Christie, Malaysia Pargo and Brandi Maxiell and newcomer Meghan James from Bad Girls Club for season 4.

But wait....there's more! Shaunie hints at some more familiar faces from the Miami cast stopping through.

“I have a couple of good surprises in store this season. Be patient, stay tuned, there will be some faces that you will be very surprised to see.”

Since Evelyn Lozada has "reformed" her life and all and moved over to OWN, we can only wonder if she's one of the "surprises."

Speaking of BBW Miami, Shaunie added,

“They never officially ended Miami, but none of us have ties to Miami anymore. So it didn’t make sense, we would all have to fly there just to shoot. So I guess you can say Basketball Wives Miami is officially gone, but you’ll still see the ladies of Miami floating around.”

Actress Holly Robinson Peete is back on tv!  The 21 Jump Street chick and former co-host of "The Talk" is about to put her fab family front and center.

OWN: Oprah Winfrey Network announced today a comedic, dramatic and highly intimate docu-series called "For Peete’s Sake."  And it will follow the lives of husband and wife duo Holly Robinson Peete and Rodney Peete as they juggle complicated career choices with their bustling family life.

According to the press release:

Millions of fans know Holly Robinson Peete as the actress who launched her long-running career starring on the groundbreaking TV series “21 Jump Street,” and Rodney Peete as the popular NFL quarterback and former co-host of Fox Sports’ “The Best Damn Sports Show Period.” But their very public careers reveal just a glimpse of what life is like today for this Hollywood power couple, whose family includes four kids and Holly’s wild-and-crazy mom, Dolores, who at 79 years young is anything but a typical grandma. In a household where constant activity and change are the norm, the series celebrates the chaotic, yet loving dynamic of life in this magnetic American family.

"Rodney and I couldn’t be more thrilled to call OWN our new TV home. We are excited to share our family’s chaotic bliss and zany journeys with OWN’s loyal and authentic audience,” said Holly Robinson Peete.

 

The Peete family includes Holly’s widowed mom, Dolores, as well as the couple’s four children: twins RJ and Ryan Elizabeth (17), middle son Robinson (13), and the youngest, Roman (10).

Mariah Carey kicked off her residency at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace last night with her comeback extravaganza "Mariah #1 to Infinity." See pics and videos inside...

Last night, Mariah Carey pulled off one of the greatest comebacks in pop music history when her "Mariah #1 to Infinity" show opened at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace.  Before the curtain was raised, Ken Ehrlich, the show's director on-stage told the sold-out crowd, "You're going to hear songs that are the soundtrack of your lives all night long."

The soundtrack began with "Vision of Love" as Mariah, in the first of several glitzy gowns, arrived center stage on a moving platform in between two giant butterflies.

From there, Mariah went through her catalogue of 18 number one hit singles in chronological order from 1990 to 2008. She ended the show with her latest single, "Infinity" and a confetti-cannon explosion into the crowd.  As the audience screamed "I love you", she chimed back "I love you more, don't even try it."

The show lasted nearly two-hours and by all reports and social media recaps, she nailed it. The voice is back! Although Mimi was criticized for previous live performances, she's clearly taken the criticism to heart and she's now in fighting form!
