BET celebrated Gabrielle Union and "Being Mary Jane" cast with an A-list premiere party in LA this week.  And TheYBF.com was front and center for the hot event...and we also chatted up Ms. Union about some things we've been wondering about. Monday evening, TheYBF.com hit the red carpet in LA for the “Being Mary Jane” Premiere Screening in Los Angeles. We chatted exclusively with the series' star, Gabrielle Union, who looked sexy in a white Michael Kors jumpsuit.

Gabrielle Union on holiday plans:
The Laker game. My boyfriend plays [the Lakers] on Christmas. So I’ll be at the Laker Game. For New Year's we'll be out of the country. Just a quick trip.”

On Christmas shopping for Dwyane's sons:
I finished the little ones a while ago and I just finished the older one’s today actually.

On what she expects to get from Santa:
A lump of coal like usual. I keep asking for tube socks and he keeps giving them to me I should probably stop asking.”

Did she get the new Beyonce album?
Have I? Please! I was downloading the second it dropped!”

On how the show depicts Mary Jane’s love life and its relation to her.
It's one of the only projects I've ever seen when a single working woman is authentically portrayed in a brutally honest way. [My friends and I] have these conversations that are sort of played out on screen. The conversations that we have and the life that we live, the choices we make good or bad are never accurately depicted and you never see consequences. There are times when you love Mary Jane and times when you want to slap the piss out of her.

The show's fab creator Mara Brock Akil and BET's President Debra Lee posed it up with Gabby.

We also chatted with Mara about her take on affairs and how women relate to the relationships in the show.

In the film, David, (played by Stephen Bishop) is labeled as “Never Answer”. How can women relate to this relationship?
“We've all had that one significant relationship that is the hurdle that we have to get over. You're always measuring, Do I go back to that? Or do I do better than that? Am I going to get something similar to that? It's the relationship that marks our adult relationships which we grapple with. Everybody has "the one."

If your partner was having an affair would you want to know all the intimate details?
When I wrote the scene, I thought what would I want to know. I want to know what's he's doing to you that he's not doing to me!
 

Essence Atkins walked the red carpet in brown Steve Madden pumps, ripped Zara jeans and navy blue Calvin Klein blazer.

The "Mr. Box Office" star told us about why she loves supporting "Being Mary Jane".  Her besties are involved!

"It stars two of my best friends, Gabrielle Union and Robinne Lee. We played sisters in Deliver Us From Eva. I'm just excited about the story about women, and a woman in particular, searching for love trying to find a balance in her profession. I think there's a lot of women that can relate to this, not just women of color but just women across the board. There's so many women doing so well and their personal lives are in need of resuscitation. This will take an honest look at those struggles and explore how we deal with them. It's going to be a fun journey to watch."

And how is the mommy celebrating the Holidays?

"My son is turning two on Christmas Day. I'm actually doing this thing that I'm kind of excited about. Instead of presents I'm having everyone give my son a letter kind of like a time capsule. Except this time capsule will be when he turns 18 so I'm not reading any letters and I just want the people to write something down that their hopes and dreams for him when he becomes a young man."

Awww.

Series star Robinne Lee told us on the red carpet about her character saying, "You’re going to expect a lot of drama. Some very juicy stuff. Really, really well written one hour drama with dynamic multilayered characters. The choices they make are unexpected, unique, and relatable."

We also chatted with celebrity trainer Jeanette Jenkins, who trained Mara Brock Akil when she had her first son.

"For Christmas I'm going to snowboard in Aspen. I'll be turning up on the mountain. For New Years Eve, I think I'm going to crash wherever Kelly is. She's performing. I'm going to be that homegirl. (laughs)"

After her Mrs. Carter Show World Tour stop last night at the Barclay Center,  Beyonce trekked it from Brooklyn to Times Square to celebrate her album release at a private party at Dave & Busters.

Model Jessica White was on hand at the adult playground of Dave & Busters last night to party it up with the Queen Bey as she celebrated her Beyonce album release.

And remember the OBGYN doctor who danced it out to Beyonce in the operating room before she underwent a double mastectomy?  Her dance video went viral on the net, and even Beyonce posted it on her Facebook page.

The doctor hit up "GMA" this morning to discuss how well she's doing since her surgery.  And Beyonce's team sent over two tickets to her concert as a surprise. Sweet!

And speaking of her tour stop last night, Beyonce gave a mid-concert big kiss to the kiddie of another Queen in the game--Madonna's daughter Mercy James.  Friends in high places...

BONUS: Bey also just announced her new third fragrance RISE.  It's reportedly inspired by Maya Angelou's poem and it's just in time for the Holidays.  WWD says, "Beyoncé Rise is designed to go beyond the sensuality and electricity of her stage persona to reveal a bit more of her personality."

Fab chick alert!  Newly-engaged songstress Kelly Rowland turned heads on the grey carpet for "The X-Factor" wrap party.  See pics inside...

The third season of X-Factor USA is a wrap!  One of the show's most popular judges, Kelly Rowland, turned heads on the red carpet at CBS Television City in LA for the finale and wrap party.

Kelly wore a Balmain studded-leather bustier gown with a long slit that showcased those killer legs, Anthony Vacarello shoes and Lorraine Schwartz jewels.  Chick is wearing engagement well.

Earlier this week, Kelly revealed to Queen Latifah that her fiance, Tim Witherspoon, proposed via Skype!

At the judges' table, Kelly held hands with her colleagues Demi Lovato and Paulina Rubio.  No word yet on if Kelly's returning for another season.

Mariah Carey is under fire--again--for performing for a country's leader who is known to anger human rights groups and is often called a dictator.  Details inside...

A few days ago, Mariah headed to Africa to do performances in Nigeria and Angola.  But it was her performance for the Angolan President Josè Eduardo Dos Santos last Sunday that has pissed off several human rights groups.

The Human Rights Foundation claims Dos Santos has murdered many and exploited the country's resources to his own gain.  And he reportedly used country resources to pay Mariah $1 million to perform a two-hour concert at an event for the Angolan Red Cross.

Mariah was pictured smiling it up with the President and his family in pics posted by a publication's Facebook page.

After MiMi performed for Libyan dictator Moammar Gadhafi five years ago, she caught hell then as well and later apologized saying she was embarrassed to be "caught up in that mess".
 

Maybe her heart was in the right place, but human rights groups aren't feeling any part of this "heart" or all that cash.  Especially since she has yet to comment.

In the new January 2014 issue of Upscale Magazine, gorgeous Anchorman 2 star Meagan Good dished on her marriage to preacher DeVon Franklin and the sense of freedom she's felt since walking down the aisle and how "love" empowered her.  Check the highlights

On her newfound freedom since tying the knot:

“Oddly, you would think in marriage it would make you feel like you have less freedom, but I’m finding that I have more freedom [since I’ve been married] because I trust myself more and I’m a little bit more absolute about my choices..."

On her fears about getting married:

“What I feared about marriage was that I would lose my identity and be controlled or suffocated or like a caged lion and what I found was the exact opposite. I’m way more empowered, more content, more confident and just freer across the board.”

On being famous:

“In this business you do get picked apart and you do get kind of bullied everyday, with the blogs and everything... People say, ‘well if you didn’t want all of that then you shouldn’t do this for a living’ but there’s a difference between someone who wants to be an actress because they want to be famous and someone who wants to do good work and they could take or leave the fame because it’s not about the fame or money, it’s genuinely about the art. That's the category that I fall in. With the fame, to be honest, I could really leave it.”

Kevin Hart covers the January issue of VIBE Magazine where he explains why he avoids dealing with "race" in his comedy career.  Plus, he dishes on working with Ice Cube in Ride Along.  Highlights inside....

In VIBE's January "race" issue, Kevin Hart shares the dual cover with rapper Drake as both discuss race and its impact on their careers.  Kevin, who'll star with Robert De Niro in "Grudge Match" (December 25th) also discussed how his film, Ride Along, may catapult him to Eddie Murphy status.  Here are the highlights:

VIBE: You don’t make race the nucleus of your routine. Why?

KEVIN HART: No, I don’t need to. I get that racism exists, but it’s not a catalyst for my content. I don’t need to talk about race to have material. My style of comedy is more self-deprecating. I think that makes me more relatable. When you deal with “topics”—race, white versus black—you’re not separating from the pack. You’re doing what everybody else is doing. It’s easy to take those subjects and make them personal. You show more depth when that’s not your shtick.

Talk about raising kids in this post-racial society.

My kids are coming up in a different time then me. Interracial couples are of the norm. With me, it’s about making sure my kids understand the importance of education and having opportunities that I didn’t. My goal as a parent is to make sure they don’t take what they have for granted. You definitely want your kids to understand their heritage, but I don’t want my kids to just focus on being black. They are people. I don’t want them to judge other people or to be judged. I want them to be good people, so good people will treat them accordingly. I preach that to my kids and everything else falls into place.

A lot of critics are blown away by Ride Along. It feels like a Beverly Hills Cop moment for you.

Ride Along can catapult me into a different level of stardom. First and foremost, Ice Cube is amazing in the movie. Our chemistry is amazing. It’s a great movie for the both of us. Tim Story, Will Packer. Universal had a concept and allowed us come in and bring what we felt we should. I’m excited about it; January can’t get here soon enough. I think this movie is going to exceed expectations. I’m trying to get what the Will Smiths and Eddie Murphys of the world got. I want to do it to a point where I understand the business. I want to be in a position where I own my material. This is a movie that can put me in a place to accomplish a lot of things.

Do you have any experiences with everyday racism?

Even if I did, I don’t give it the attention. I don’t welcome negative energy. The time it takes to harbor, reap, bitch and complain is time that you can be doing something else. Have I gotten into situations with people that could have been racist? Of course, I am human. I’m a young black guy in Hollywood. You chalk it up and you move on.

The saga continues...

After a letter from Bounty Alert, an organization who helps parents receive the child support they're owed, was sent to media alleging that Andrea Kelly's lawyer claimed the reality star couldn't afford the processing fee for the company's help....Andrea's lawyer is fighting back.  Details inside..

We previously reported about Project Child Support and Bounty Alert sending out stacks of proof that they were hired to help Andrea Kelly get the child support she's been waiting on for months from her ex-husband R.Kelly.  But after another media entity supposedly incorrectly reported what really went down, it caused an ish-storm of drama.

Here's the deal:

Several days ago, Project Child Support sent out a press release that they had been hired by Andrea Kelly to retrieve her $114,000+ child support money from R. Kelly, since he hadn't paid up what he legally owed.

Soon after, TMZ posted that Andrea Kelly said she never hired Project Child Support to help her out with her child support situation (conveniently reporting this AFTER R.Kelly finally paid up that $114,000 he owed).

To show they are no liars, Project Child Support and the company they work with, Bounty Alert, sent out tons of proof showing contracts and other paperwork, signed by Andrea and her lawyer, that showed they were indeed hired for the project.  Bounty Alert felt like they were simply being used as leverage for Andrea to get what she needed from Robert Kelly.  Since we all know bad press is the last thing he needed while releasing his new Black Panties album.

But as part of their proof, Bounty Alert (BA) said in docs that Andrea's lawyer, Alison Motta, told them that Andrea could not afford the $400 processing fee for BA's services.  This could possibly hold up the work BA planned to do.

Of course, Andrea was pissed the public now thought of her as a broke chick struggling to get by...all supposedly thanks to her ow lawyer.  So Alison Motta spoke to TheYBF.com exclusively about the matter.

"I have never stated that Andrea Kelly mismanaged her earnings from "Hollywood [Exes]".  I think she is managing her earnings nicely.  And there's been some confusion and  misreporting out there in the media and I wanted to resolve that."

She continued about the mixup:

"I did tell Bounty Alert that she was having severe financial difficulties as a result of this child support situation.  That is a very true statement.  I don't know if that was them reading between the lines..."

We're told Bounty Alert is sticking to their story.  All of it.

And get this -- Motta says she NEVER spoke to TMZ at all.  So the report saying Andrea never hired Bounty Alert was a complete lie.  She tells us:

"Neither myself nor Andrea Kelly ever denied having hired Bounty Alert.  I think that the confusion in the media on that end sparked this 'he said/she said' thing that's gotten ridiculous.  Hopefully it'll all die down and this clears up those two points.

Bottom line: Andrea got her money...and her lawyer's still got her job.

Rihanna hit up Pink Elephant in NYC last night for a party.  But when she was leaving the club, paparazzi caught up with her and overheard her telling a reportedly female club goer, "Next Sunday bitch, I'll be here."

She could have just been using 'bitch' as a term of endearment and letting a homegirl know where they can catch up together next.  or maybe she was actually semi-thuggin' on her way out the club.  Who knows.  But the lady who came out behind her looked mad flustered.

In movie news, Morris Chestnut's confirmed a third "Best Man" flick while Lupita Nyong'o broke own in tears discussing the whipping scenes from "12 Years A Slave".  Listen to the interviews inside...

During an interview with Hot 93.7 radio show in Hartford, Morris Chestnut confirmed that there will indeed be a third installment in The Best Man franchise.  Morris told Jenny Boom Boom,

“As of right now, Malcom Lee, the writer/ director, is writing another [Best Man]. [Malcom] has only told me about a few of the details for the movie… but I do not know who Terrence is gonna marry. All I know is, it’s gonna be really interesting.”

Morris also discussed how Malcolm brought all the original actors together to a sequel and what it was like once they began filming.

“We had gone to dinner about 2011… Malcom Lee talked to us about our storylines, he had some ideas and wanted to get our feedback. At that dinner, it was good to see everyone. He went away and wrote it, and we came back and did it.”

“We rehearsed for one week in Los Angeles, and two weeks in Toronto, where we filmed it. A week before we started filming, the director brought us over, we all got into this theater and we all watched the original together. We had a great time, it reminded us what the first one was like, it brought us back and we made fun of ourselves, we had a really really great time. It put us all back in that mode.”

You'll recall that Malcolm and Universal began talks about a third film after the box office success of "BMH".  And based on how good # 2 was, we're already excited for #3.

If you're wondering what brought Lupita to tears, the moment came when she described the emotional toil the brutal whipping scenes took on her.  She told that hosts that she realized her "suffering" was temporary while the scenes she filmed where the actual reality of slaves.

Well  Wal-Mart shoppers in Tewksbury, MA got a major shocker while doing some Friday night shopping.  Beyonce popped up, grabbed the P.A. system phones to greet shoppers, and handed out gift cards to the whole store!

She grabbed a cart and did some shopping of her own.  And looks like she even picked up baby Blue a few things.

She stopped and kissed some babies politician style.

And caused some ruckus at the checkout counter.  Gotta love it!

Steve Harvey had most of his kids on his talk show recently, and it seems everything is all good with his son Wynton...now.  Steve's been officially cleared of horrible child abuse allegations.  Pics inside...

Remember back in 2011 when all that drama was going down between Steve Harvey and his ex wife Mary, who claimed that Steve was didn't care about their now 16-year-old son Wynton and simply took him (their only child together) from her to spite her? 

Well he's finally been cleared of all charges of recent child abuse allegations from when Wynton was 11.  And it seems Wynton is loving living with dad (based on social media postings).

Apparently, a judge held Mary in contempt and sent her to jail on Thursday for leaking sealed allegations to media.  Y'all know she's still mad and trying her damndest to get back at Steve for their split and what went down.

According to TMZ:

As for the incident ... according to a police report -- obtained by TMZ -- Mary claims Steve got a phone call from the boy's school informing him his son lied about turning in homework. According to the kid, Steve hit him with a belt and then a paddle board -- the kind used for hazing in fraternities.

According to the police report ... cops took photos of the boy's injuries, showing bruises on his buttocks and right thigh, as well as cuts on his leg. The police report says the boy told cops, the beating was so brutal he had trouble urinating for days.

The matter was then referred to the Texas Dept. of Family and Protective Services. Steve's rep tells TMZ, the Dept. concluded, "Based on the information obtained, the child does not appear to be at risk ... the case is closed without further investigation."

Wow.  Reportedly, Mary feels it's all a cover up, which may explain why she leaked allegations to media.  The judge was pissed about the leak and her constant attempts to expose Steve, so he sent her to jail.

Are Drake and Zoe Kravitz Drunk In Love...or drunk in lust?  Whatever it is, they've been spotted once again extra boo'd up in the VIP section of Beyonce's recent concert in Brooklyn.  And they took the flirty action back to Drake's tour bus...again!

Last Thursday at the Barclays Center, Drake was spotted in the VIP section alongside Madonna, her daughter Lourdes, J.Cole....and Drake's his rumored new boo Zoe Kravitz!

After pics of them surfaced a month agoof Zoe aboard his tour bus...tongues started wagging about what could be up between the two of them.  Drake professed his crush on her a few years ago in interviews..and it looks like he's finally getting exactly what he wanted.

As the twosome listened to Bey belt out her love songs, they were spotted kissing and hugging in front of their friends.  And no one seemed to be shocked.  Which makes us believe this isn't the first time...

Well....

They do make a pretty cute couple.  And Drake seems like the type to fall mad hard for a chick after date .5 while Zoe seems unfazed, yet all kinds of fun.

Miami Heat baller Dwayne Wade just made long time girlfriend Gabby Union a Miami Heat wife (to be). The twosome revealed via their social networks that they're officially engaged!

The twosome shared a super sweet embrace after the proposal.  And their jeweler, Jason of Beverly Hills, gave an even closer look at the ring Dwyane designed through them.

A few months ago, D-Wade gifted Gabby with a championship ring of her own as the players gift their wives, girlfriends and moms usually when they win their own rings.

Looks like we'll have another Heat wedding soon.

Beyzus!  Beyonce Knowles showed the world that her post baby bod can be better than pre-baby as she rocked a head to toe super sexy Tom Ford look Saturday night in NYC.   Check it inside, plus what she told the crowd about the meaning behind her erotic & intimate self titled new album...

Beyonce jacked this look straight off the  Tom Ford runway, and rocked it more than well last night at the School of Visual Arts (SVA) in Manhattan Saturday.

Bey was on hand to explain the meaning behind the new Beyonce visual album, why she chose the extra grown direction, and more. 

She explained that all her alter egos--Yonce, Sasha Fierce and whoever else--are now merged into one being.  And while there's no more alter egos, there's plenty to take away from the many sounds and faces and moods of Bey on her newest album.

She even discussed why she's choosing to show more about herself now.  And it's all because she stopped looking at herself as someone's child, and as a woman who has every right to flex all sides of her multifaceted self. *Snaps*

And as Bey had masked women handing out popcorn and snacks to the media on hand, she talked about everything from getting away from her "boring" factor to being scared sh*tless about her surprise iTunes release.

On her fear of releasing "Beyonce" as a surprise

"I just got off the stage, I had a glass of wine and my cousin Angie was like, 'Are you alright?' because I was talking to myself and I was terrified.  I was so scared. I had already gone through all the horrible ways it could go in my mind... I saw it live on iTunes and I waited for the first comment. Then I woke up the next morning and... [breaks into dance]."

"We went through everything to keep it sacred and a surprise," the singer said. "Because there's joy in that and it's missing, and that's something I was able to experience as a kid."

On the project being an exercise in opening up as a woman

"It's amazing how motherhood changes you.  I took all the things about myself that I wanted to change and put it in my music.  More than the music, I'm proud of myself as a woman.  It's about loving your imperfections and the things that make you interesting, because I refuse to let anyone put me in a box."

On why she forfeited a bit of her privace for this album

[Choking back tears] "I have always been very generous, I have been generous on stage and take my pain and joy into my performance.  But I'm private... I think it just took me not being anyone's child. Once I had a child, I broke down that fourth wall. I feel liberated, and I feel like I can give my heart to people."

Halle Berry's been on complete mommy duty lately after giving birth to her & husband Olivier Martinez's new baby boy Maceo.  So she took some time to chill with her oldest kiddie Nahla on the beach in Cali this weekend.

How cute!  Who needs swimsuits when you can just go to the beach in your jammies:

Nahla Aubrey and a friend were spotted playing on the rocks and sand yesterday in Malibu.  And Halle looks like she's still covering up that post baby bod...but we doubt she even needs to.

We're sure Halle's got her hands full with Christmas right around the corner and shopping it up for the kiddies.

Mrs. Berry-Martinez has signed on to star in a new sci-fi tv series called "Extant".  And she'll appear in the new X-Men movie Days of Future Past.
