Nick Cannon has filed the paperwork to officially divorce from his estranged wife Mariah Carey. Deets inside….
“America’s Got Talent” host Nick Cannon secretly made his way to the courthouse last month to file divorce papers to end his marriage (after 6 years) from his estranged wife Mariah Carey.
Talk of the two heading down Splitsville Lane was first revealed back in August. Once word got out, Nick confirmed the two had separated and were living in separate houses. It was only a matter of time before one of them officially filed for divorce…and Nick was the one to kick-off the proceedings.
According to TMZ, Nick filed the divorce documents on December 12th under the radar. Remember when MiMi was set to pre-tape for the 82nd Annual Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree Lighting…but couldn’t because she was three hours late? Well, reports allege the reason she was late was due to her finalizing terms on their property settlement. A week after that fiasco, Nick put in his bid to terminate their marriage.
But don’t feel bad for MiMi. Chick just confirmed her Las Vegas Caesars Palace residency (which kicks off May 6th), reportedly worth MORE than Britney Spears’ two-year, $30 million contract. Mmhmm…we think she will be just fine.
And don't look for Nick to diss Mariah or spill any deets about their divorce on any tracks (he's reportedly working on a new album). He claims he's keeping his mouth shut, espeically for the sake of "Dem Babies".
