J. Cole is making some impressive moves with his newly released 2014 Forest Hills Drive album. He landed the No.1 spot on the Billboard 200 selling well over 360,000 copies in his first week, which makes his album the highest selling Hip Hop album in 2014.
Also, President Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama shared a few personal stories of being racially profiled in an interview you don’t want to miss. Get it all inside….
J. Cole is on top of the world right now.
The numbers are in and his third studio album, 2014 Forest Hills Drive, sold over 360,000 copies during its first week, which landed him at No. 1 on the Billboard 200. Yep…dude beat out Taylor Swift’s 1989 album. NICE!
He did this without releasing any singles, very little promotion AND not to mention he announced his album less than a month ago. The Roc Nation rapper clearly has a HUGE following. And some legit music.
Not only that, J. Cole’s newest LP has earned him the highest selling Hip Hop album in 2014. But don’t think his amazing album sales have gone to his head. He’s still just as humble and unapologetic as ever. He took to his Twitter to say:
The #'s are humbling. It's a win for all artists and fans and a clear message to the industry. No singles no features. Stop serving trash

In politics....
Just because you’re the President of the United States (and the First Lady) doesn’t mean you're protected from racism…even while IN the White House.
In a new interview with PEOPLE, President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama open up about racial injustices they have faced before entering the White House and even AFTER becoming the POTUS & FLOTUS.
Our First Lady dished,
"I think people forget that we've lived in the White House for six years. Before that, Barack Obama was a black man that lived on the South Side of Chicago, who had his share of troubles catching cabs.”
FLOTUS went on to reflect on a time she felt she was racially profiled while undercover on a shopping trip in Target. She said,
"I tell this story – I mean, even as the first lady – during that wonderfully publicized trip I took to Target, not highly disguised, the only person who came up to me in the store was a woman who asked me to help her take something off a shelf. Because she didn't see me as the first lady, she saw me as someone who could help her. Those kinds of things happen in life. So it isn't anything new."
With racial profiling being a hot topic in the news lately, it was interesting to hear the personal stories of our Commander in Chief and his lady before they entered the White House. In one instance, Mr. Obama was asked to fetch a car outside of a restaurant while waiting for his own car.
President O said, "There's no black male my age, who's a professional, who hasn't come out of a restaurant and is waiting for their car and somebody didn't hand them their car keys.”
In another instance, Mrs.O revealed, "He was wearing a tuxedo at a black-tie dinner, and somebody asked him to get coffee."
We love that Obamas opened up about this quite sensitive topic African Americans speak about amongst themselves, ut not as often on such a public platform.
