Columbus Short must have taken a moment to reflect on his reckless behavior and had an “a-ha!” moment. He is now apologizing to his supporters and owning up to his mistakes. Meanwhile, SONY suffered a privacy breach and emails have been leaked. And we've learned they're calling Kevin Hart money hungry. More inside….

Former “Scandal” star Columbus Short has been traveling down a road of destruction since news broke that he allegedly assaulted and threatened to kill his estranged wife Tanee McCall-Short. Once labeled a domestic abuser, he lost his role on one of the hottest primetime television shows, been involved in physical altercations with various people and was even on the run (espcaing to carnival in Barbados) after being served a bench warrant for being a no-show in court.

Now…the troubled star 32-year-old actor is feeling apologetic for his actions and wants to own up to his mistakes. In a letter he posted to Instagram, Columbus thanked everyone who has stood by him during a dark chapter in his life and he owned up to the “mismanagement of his mind, body and spirit.”  But he never totally confesses tot he domestic abuse.

And then he went on Access Hollywood with an admission about his cocaine use:

“I’ll be candid: I was struggling with drugs,” the 32-year-old former Scandal star told Access Hollywood. “I had a lot on my plate, and you know, I was using unhealthy ways to kind of self-medicate and deal with a lot of heavy duty stuff in my life… I was doing cocaine and drinking a lot, and trying to balance a 16-hour work schedule a day, and a family, and I just lost myself back then.”

And he even admits Shonda Rhimes and his "Scandal" co-stars covered for him:

“And if we’re going to be fully transparent, they protected me and they held me down. And that was one of the real reasons – they just wanted me to get my stuff together. Sometimes the bottom has to be dropped out for you to really get it,” Columbus said. “So I moved to Atlanta. I’ve been living there for the last five months, five-and-a-half months, and it’s just been great. It’s been life-changing.”

Glad he's recognizing his mistakes and trying to make it right...if genuine. Think he’ll ever be vindicated?

In other news...

SONY Pictures came under attack after a hacker hacked into their email system, gaining access to personal, confidential email exchanges. In the latest discovery, telling emails paint a picture of a money hungry Kevin Hart.

Sony Pictures co-chair Amy Pascal, studio exec Clint Culpepper and Sony Entertainment CEO Michael Lynton were all discussing having the upcoming "Wedding Ringer" star use his social media accounts to promote his newest projects. The thing is, according to the execs, Kevin wanted extra coins on top of the $3 million he’s allegedly already paid in order for him to use his social media for advertising.

Smart move on his end, espcially if the original contract never specified promotion on social media.

The Sony Exec's alleged response:

"I'm not saying he's a whore, but he's a whore".

Check out the alleged email in its original form over at Defamer:

In addition, it's alleged Clint Culpepper fired off this email:

It's not as if we paid him 3M and 4M respectively for his last 2 films thinking he might be nominated. We paid for his ability to open a film which included his social media savvy. I feel like this is something that should be negotiated going into the film as opposed to after the fact. It feels tantamount to buying a car and then upon picking it up being told that the engine will cost extra. I'm tempted to suggest we call his bluff. If he doesn't do his normal routine, his film will not open as well and his brand will appear diminished and he will- in fact - be fucking himself because we have his next 2 immediate films. And then there's the social media precedent we're setting...especially in light of the fact that Channing is at the same agency.

Hmm...do we believe it?
