Alicia Keys and her growing bump glowed on the “Wendy Williams Show” this morning as she gushed about becoming a mother for the 2nd time and her new children’s book. Also, Ashanti joined the ladies on “The View” to co-host this morning. More inside….
For some, pregnancy can sometimes slow down a mom-on-the move. But that doesn’t seem to hold true for R&B singer Alicia Keys.
As she approaches her due date, Alicia Keys (above in her Haze Collection shades and gold AK for Reebok kicks) has been busy on the red carpet and the promo circuit, proving that pregnancy will not keep her from the grind. Recently, the “We Are Here” singer hosted a huge charity event, Keep A Child Alive 11th annual Black Ball, with a star studded guest list including Kanye West, Aretha Franklin, Madonna, Nas, Clive Davis and many others. And this past Sunday, she hit the stage to perform her inspirational track “We Are Here” at the 2014 MTV EMAs.
Now…the Grammy Award winner is making her press rounds to promote her newly released children’s bookBlue Moon: From the Journals of Mama Mae and LeeLee. Alicia stopped by the “Wendy Williams Show” this morning to talk about her first published children’s book. She shared the the characters Mama Mae and LeeLee are loosely based on her relationship with her own grandmother and her new book also includes an accompanying app.
During the interview, Alicia gushed of motherhood for the 2nd time. Her 4-year-old son Egypt is ecstatic that he’s about to be a big brother and her husband Swizz Beatz is equally excited about the upcoming arrival of their new bundle of joy. She confirmed her due date is the end of December, so there’s a possibility for a New Year’s Eve baby!
So is it a boy or a girl? Alicia is not telling! She revealed she and Swizz know the sex of the baby, but are keeping it under wraps…for now. Can we expect a new addition after the birth of baby #2? She answered, “I’m not sure, I think we should get through this one first.”
Wendy tried to get squeeze some tea out of Alicia by asking her about Swizz’s ex-wife Mashonda joining them in St. Barts during a family vacay this summer. Alicia simply answered, “I think it’s about the kids.”
True indeed.

And on another daytime talkshow....
Ashanti glammed it up in a colbalt blue Michael Costello dress and Valentino heels for a guest appearance on ABC’s daytime talkshow “The View” to co-host alongside Whoopi Goldberg, Rosie Perez and Nicolle Wallace this morning (filling in Rosie O’Donnell’s spot).
The “Early In The Morning” singer made sure to put her best face forward before she hit the set with the ladies.
Once on the set, the ladies started talking about former president George W. Bush. Ashanti reflected on a time she went to the White House to sing for Christmas and was shocked to learn President Bush knew her by name! She said as she walked in President Bush said, “Hey Ashanti! My daughters have your CDs.” She was totally caught off guard because she had no idea the president knew who she was.
During another “hot topic”, the ladies were discussing the world’s first artificially intelligent vibrator. Physicists have designed a vibrator that uses motion sensors to learn what works for you. Ashanti chimes in“Where’s mine?!” Ha!
