After sexing up L'Uomo Vogue in menswear, Nicki Minaj is gracing the pages of another magazine. The “Anaconda” raptress posed it up in between two pink and blue-died poodles in a sultry cut-out white top, her lady lumps on full display, and hip hugging blue pencil skirt for the November 2014 issue of GQ magazine.
As she gears up for the release of her third studio album, The Pinkprint, Nicki chops it up with GQ (barely since she dozed off at least four times during the interview) about her rump-shaking “Anaconda” video which she says is more about women keeping the power and control. Oh…
YMCMB’s first lady opens up about the scene with her chopping up a banana right before her lap dance with Drake saying,
"At first I'm being sexual with the banana, and then it's like, 'Ha-ha, no.' " I ask if she's referring to how the Drake scene immediately follows the kitchen scene. "Yeah, that was important for us to show in the kitchen scene, because it's always about the female taking back the power, and if you want to be flirty and funny that's fine, but always keeping the power and the control in everything."
Also in the video, there are a few products placed for advertising which actually seem a little out of place. She had her Beats by Dre speakers imprint, her Myx Fusions Moscato, a Victoria's Secret bra, some Air Jordans and a "teatox" drink called MateFit. Weird right? Well, there’s actually a method behind her madness. Money, of course! She said,
"My management team has a division that has a guy that his main focus is to go out there and find new brands for me to do business with or to find brands that would like to be in our videos and contribute to our budget.”
And about the "Anaconda" coverart that almost broke the Internet with countless mems:
"I just said I'll put it out, never thought in a billion years that people would be putting [other] people's heads on it. It's the craziest sh*t."
