All hail Queen Bey! Beyonce celebrates her 33rd birthday today. And after an incredible year of worldwide tours, slaying magazine covers, topping music charts and epic performances, it’s only right we give one of the greatest entertainers of our time her due credit.
After Beyonce broke the Internet with the surprise release of her self-titled fifth studio album, she has been a force to be reckoned with. Beyonce debuted at the No.1 spot on the Billboard 200 chart, making it her fifth (yes FIFTH) consecutive No. 1 album in the U.S. And not only that, she damn near shattered iTunes, selling 828,773 units in the first three days since its release!
Mrs. Carter released her hit album during her epic "Mrs. Carter World Tour" (averaging $2.4 million per show), which included a whooping 132 performances. She literally traveled all across the world (with Blue Ivy in tow) ending her tour in Lisbon, Portugal late March.
Then in April, the “Partition” singer announced she was headed back on the road for a joint tour with her husband Jay Z. Mr. & Mrs. Carter went “On The Run” and grossed over $100 million in ticket sales. Also in April, Bey landed the cover of TIME magazine’s 100 Most Influential People Issue and was named the most influential person in the world!
And just recently, Bey was presented with the iconic MTV Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award by her husband and daughter in one of this year’s most adorable moments. Blue Blue hopped on the mic to say "Yeah, Mommy",as she presented her mother with the award melting our hearts. Beyonce also slayed the stage that night by performing her entire Beyonce digital album.
