Angela Bassett and Mary J. Blige attended the premiere of 'Betty & Coretta' at Tribeca Cinemas in New York City last night.
Mary is one of the film's producers which chronicles the lives of Dr. Betty Shabazz and Coretta Scott King following the deaths of their husbands.
The film kicks off Lifetime's Black History month celebration.
Screen legend Ruby Dee serves as the film's narrator.
Malik Yoba plays Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. in the film.
Mary and Angela posed on the red carpet Lindsay Owen Pierre (who played Malcolm X), Lifetime SVP Original Movies Tanya Lopez and producer Larry Sanitsky.

Mary J. Blige stopped by "106 & PARK" to promote the film and chat with hosts Bow Wow and Paigion.
Also, Mary revealed to Blackfilm.com that her next film will be Kasi Lemmons‘ musical ‘Black Nativity’ which also stars Angela Bassett. She says about her role, “I play Platinum Fro and she’s an angel.” Nice!

Both Angela and Mary appeared on "The View" recently and they discussed what they learned about the phenomenal women they played during the making of the film. And yes, Angela confirms there IS a script for Waiting To Exhale 2. But, she has no idea when/if it will be shot.
“Betty & Coretta” premieres February 2 at 8 p.m. on Lifetime.
