Now THIS is how you turn the big 3-0. Not only did Dwyane Wade's celebrity friends, gorgeous girlfriend Gabby Union, and sister host a huge Miami bash for him Sunday night, he also had a big surprise brunch over the weekend...with a surprise appearance from a family member. Check out the pics, plus the brand new almost quarter of a million dollar car he was gifted for his born day, inside....
At D-Wade's big 30th birthday bash at the Setai Hotel in Miami this weekend, the McLaren car company airlifted his birthday present poolside. Yes...cranes and all.
While the YBF folks were partying the night away, Mr. Wade received a brand new 2012 McLaren MP4-12C from Ken Gorin, president and CEO of Coral Gables luxe car dealership The Collection. Of course, Gorin was a sponsor of the party as well.
TMZ reports, "...the car was loaded up onto a crane in the alley next to the pool area ... hoisted above the hotel wall ... and carefully lowered onto the waiting platform, positioned inside the pool."
Of course, Dwyane got the car for free. And here's the lowdown on the foreign masterpiece for all you car freaks:
The custom ordered car was actually designed by Wade in "Fire Black" with two tone "Saddle Tan/Carbon Black" leather interior. The one-of-a-kind 12C boasts custom alloy wheel center caps with Wade’s signature logo as well as a specialty “WADE” emblem for the rear, WADE Limited Edition side badges and dedication plates on the inside door panels that read "Hand assembled in the United Kingdom in recognition of Dwyane Wade's 30th Birthday."
Christy Cartaya, The Collection's director of PR, told the Miami Herald, "It was a gift – Dwyane is our brand ambassador and spokesperson. We consider him part of our 'family'." Damn...how do we get in with THAT family?
And at Dwyane's fab surprise birthday brunch at the W South Beach, he got the best surprise ever: His 91-year-old grandmother flew down for a visit...and it was her first time ever on a plane!
His sister Tragil and mom jolinda were on had to host the affair with a buffet-style brunch including an omelet station, pastas, pastries, fruit, and Roscoe's chicken and waffles. Gotta love that.
He said: "I got in at 6:45 am not knowing what I was [going to do] today, so I was very surprised. Seeing my grandma was the biggest and best surprise, especially since she got on a plane for the first time.”
And Yolanda Adams was on hand to perform. Must be nice...
