Aryn Drake-Leesays it’s RECEIPT SEASON amid her nasty ongoing custody battle with her ex-husband JesseWilliams. The actor recently begged the judge to intervene with an emergency hearing and she's responding. Everything inside…
The child custody battle between actor JesseWilliams and his ex-wife Aryn Drake-Lee continues!
Yesterday, the former “Grey’s Anatomy” star reportedly asked a judge to intervene in his nasty custody dispute with his ex, making claims that she wasn’t allowing him to spend time with their two children, Saide and Maceo.
The 41-year-old actor is currently in New York for his role in the Broadway play, Take Me Out. According to court documents obtained by OK! Magazine, he said the court previously confirmed his children could fly to the Big Apple when he was working to visit him for days during the months of October, November, December and January. Now, he claims Aryn is REFUSING to allow the children to travel to Manhattan to spend time with him.
“I recently agreed to perform in the second run of Take Me Out starting in October 2022 and ending in January 2023,” he wrote in the court papers. “The play is set to start in October 2022 and run through at least January 2023. I am returning to New York in early October to start rehearsals. I asked Aryn to honor the Court’s prior order so I can continue to spend quality time with our children while I am in New York. Aryn refused," he wrote. He argued an emergency hearing was necessary, “so the children and I do not lose our precious custodial time together while I am working on Take Me Out.”
Jesse also made claims Aryn wouldn’t even let him speak to their children.
“Aryn’s habitual violation of his long-standing court order is emotionally damaging not only for the children but admittedly for me," he continued.
Not long after he filed the paperwork, Aryn took to social media to respond and it’s clear she’s ready for war!
“Is it good for the health and wellness of a 7yr and 8yr old to be taken out of school on a regular basis to fly cross country overnight on a red eye to be on the ground for two days?,” she asked in an Instagram post. “Is it reasonable for them to return dazed and confused and then be expected to pick right up and survive at school the rest of the week?”
She continued, “I don’t think so! Neither do any of the parents who actually parent on a routine basis. There’s a name for the condition of an adult who expects their children to indulge, caregive and service that adult’s desires at the childrens’ expense…”
She then included the hashtags: #receiptsseason #ihavestayedquietforfartoolong

The couple was together for 13 years total and married for five years, 2012 - 2017. They finalized their divorce in October 2020.
At first, it was reported their split was amicable, but it quickly got nasty as they both began to blame one another for playing dirty behind the scenes. In 2019, they agreed Jesse would pay $40,000/month in child support, but that all changed last year. Jesse petitioned the court to ask for the amount to be reduced since he was no longer receiving his “Grey’s Anatomy” income where he was raking in $6 million a year.
Aryn wasn’t feeling it, claiming he decided to leave the hit ABC series for “selfish” reasons and now “seeks to shed his family responsibilities," she stated.
The judge agreed with Jesse and lowered his child support payments significantly where the amount was lowered to $7,953 a month when he's out of town and $6,143 when he's in Los Angeles. In January 2022, she petitioned for primary custody of their children, claiming she no longer wanted Jesse to have joint custody - only visitation. She said he had been hiring and firing nannies and having long absences when it comes to seeing his kids. She also said she feared for her own safety after she allegedly called the police due to Jesse's behavior and decisions around their children.
A mess. And it seems it's only going to get messier.
