Rihanna is now America’s youngest woman to become a self-made billionaire with a reported $1.4 billion net worth. Sheesh!
The 34-year-old Fenty Beauty honcho - who became a first-time mother in May - came from humble beginnings in Barbados, where she was discovered by record producer EvanRogers, who introduced her to Jay-Z. In 2005, Rih released her debut album, Music of the Sun, and the rest, as they say, is history. Or in this case, HERstory.
Landing on Forbes’ annual list of America’s richest self-made women for the third year in a row, the Bajan beauty ranked 21st overall and she’s the only billionaire on the list under age 40, knocking Kylie Jenner off the list.
You’ll recall, folks made a huge deal in 2020 when Forbes announced Kylie as the nation’s youngest “self-made” millionaire. There was tons of controversy surrounding the “self-made” title since she came from a wealthy family. The Kylie Cosmetics honcho came under fire for her "billionaire status" when Forbes reported the 23-year-old's paychecks weren't as high as she claimed. Hmph. Basically, she lied about her net worth by submitting forged draft tax returns with inflated numbers. Allegedly.
Well, we know RiRi - a legit National Hero - is self made. She didn’t grow up with a silver spoon in her mouth and got it out the mud.
Most of RiRi’s coin comes from her three retail companies: Fenty Beauty (makeup line, which she owns half of), Fenty Skin (skincare), and Savage X Fenty (lingerie). The rest comes from the nine-time Grammy winner’s successful music career.
Life is hella good for RiRi right now. The “Diamonds” singer and her rapper boyfriend A$AP Rocky welcomed a baby boy on May 19th. He’s currently on tour overseas and, trust, she’s not far behind. The new mom was spotted - in a Prada coat - for the first time since giving birth to support Rocky’s performance at the Wireless Festival in London a few days ago:

It’s unclear if the couple brought their son to London, but, if we had to guess, we'd say they did.
