Both Mo’Nique and D.L. Hughley shared their contracts to prove they were tapped to headline a comedy show in Detroit. However, it seems they both got played! More inside…

Comedians Mo’Nique, 54, and D.L. Hughley, 59, are STILL going back and forth on social media over a contract dispute attached to a comedy show in Detroit that Mo says SHE was tapped to headline. When the order of the comedians was allegedly changed, D.L. was set to perform last and that pissed Mo off. D.L.

During her set (on May 29th), Mo called D.L. Hughley a “b**** n****” for “attacking a black woman,” blaming him for playing a part in having her removed as the headliner.

Following her explosive rant, Mo and D.L. went back and forth on Instagram about WHO was contracted as the actual headliner. She accused D.L. of refusing to perform if she headlined the show. He whipped out receipts, sharing screenshots of the event’s flyer (that listed his name first) and a call sheet that had him listed as the last performer.

Feeling confident, Mo called him out for not posting his actual signed contract.

The Kings of Comedy star shared a “deal memo,” which was printed on March 29, 2022, that stated D.L. would be the “closing” act of the show, among other things.

AFTER THIS… I don’t want hear NO MO’ ABOUT THIS,” D.L. captioned. “HERE IT IS IN BLACK & WHITE!! THE ONLY THING BLACKED OUT IS PERSONAL AND BANK INFO. PAY ATTENTION TO:

RECEIPTS > OPINIONS. I GOT EVERYTHING THAT WAS STATED IN MY CONTRACT… EVERYTHING. BUT LET’S SAY I DIDN’T, MY BEEF WOULDN’T BE WITH ANYONE BUT THE PROMOTER AND/OR MY TEAM AND I DAMN SURE WOULDN’T MAKE IT PERSONAL. IF YOU HAVE A PROBLEM, TAKE IT UP WITH MANAGEMENT AND BY THAT I MEAN YOURS

The Oscar winning actress followed up with receipts of her own, which included a performance deal dated March 28, 2022. She also shared alleged email exchanges between her team and producers of the show, the show’s call sheet and more. Check it:

"There were some of you who were fooled by the smoke and mirrors of D.L. posting his 'Deal Memo' versus his 'Performance Agreement.' Here is my Performance Agreement and here are emails and texts confirming that as per usual I’m going to always keep it real and honest with my people. If you notice mine has signatures and D.L. does not. What type of iron clad agreement doesn’t have the signatures of the participants involved? Apparently D.L.’s. Lol!,” wrote Mo’Nique.

”Now, you told me to check with my management and this is what I came up with, so how’d did I do?,” she continued. “Perhaps you should’ve taken your own advice, because I’m sure your team would have advised you against trying to pass a deal memo off as a contract. To those out there who thought a deal memo was the same as a performance agreement (especially some of the comedians) this is how we’re constantly taken advantage of by the business," she continued.

”And, just so you know the promoter already told my team before the show that you didn’t have a signed agreement, that’s why I’m not surprised you’re using a deal memo. That said maybe they lied and you actually have a contract. If so the promoters have put themselves in a terrible position to have more legal action taken against them, beyond malicious concealment for breaking the contract at the last second. That said, D.L. we the people will be waiting for your signed agreement."

1. My contract- signed

2. Email with PDF of Run of Show

5. What I walked into minutes after arriving to the theatre.

”Can you say receipts? LOL”

"TO MY PEOPLE WHO REFUSE TO FALL FOR THE OKIE DOKE AND EVEN THOSE THAT DO, I LOVE Y’ALL TO LIFE!!!!”

In response…

D.L. maintained HE was the contracted headliner, stating that the promoters should be the ones to blame…not him.

“MAAAAAN… HICK’S MEDIA INC?? HOLD UP!! THAT’S YOU!!! YOU REALLLY SHOWING EVERYONE A CONTRACT YOU SUBMITTED FROM YOUR OWN COMPANY. I SMELL BULLSHIT AND I WOULDN’T PICK IT UP WITH THE OLD ASS BIRTH CERTIFICATE PAPER IT WAS WRITTEN ON!! STOP THE [CAP]!!,” D.L. said in an IG caption that included a video of Mo’s contract.

“NOW EXPLAIN TO ME HOW MY SH*T WAS DELIVERED ON AND YOURS WASN’T?? SOUNDS TO ME LIKE YOUR PROBLEM IS WITH ‘HICKS MEDIA INC.’ CAN WE PLEASE IMPLEMENT THE 3 KNOCKDOWN RULE??- Darryl Lynn Hughley,” he continued.

Looks like they BOTH got played and are arguing with each other on social media for…essentially, nothing.
