The 2022 Billboard Women in Music Awards returned to Los Angeles to recognize music’s rising and chart-topping artists, creators, producers and executives for their contributions to the music industry and community.

Hosted by Grammy Award-winning singer/songwriter, Ciara at the YouTube Theater at Hollywood Park, the star-studded evening featured powerful performances and acceptance speeches that united women who are actively shaping the music industry.

Before getting to her hosting duties, Ciara - who looked amazing in Roberto Cavalli gown - stopped to chop it up on the red carpet where she was asked about her track “Like A Boy.” In a recent podcast, Kelly Rowland revealed Ciara’s “Like A Boy” track was originally written for her.

”That’s how it sometimes go with music,” Ciara responded. “It’s all love because Kelly’s my girl. We did a song together called ‘Girl Gang’ as well,” she said.

As for another collaboration?

”Me and Kelly we are family. Whenever its organic and it feels right, we’re going to get together," Ciara said.

Watch the clip (and peep how Ciara's husband Russell Wilson respectfully ended the interview) below:
