THE GLAMOUR IS BACK: Meghan & Harry, Issa Rae & More Accept Major NAACP Image Awards Looking Fabulous AF

Meghan Markle and her Prince have been out here doing the Lord's work, so it's only right they received the top honor at this weekend's NAACP Image Awards to thank them.

Get into Meghan & Harry's first official Hollywood outing post-pandemic inside, plus what Issa Rae, Will Smith and more had to say about their own big wins.

Ever since they exchanged vows in one of the most watched weddings of all time, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have been living in their truth doing what's best for them.  And now we know that meant saying 'Deuces' to the Royal Family & England, and setting up shop in Hollywood after giving up their Royal duties.

Parting ways from the Crown didn't mean stopping their charity work though, because Meg & Harry seem to have tripled down on their efforts to give back.  So much so, the parents-of-two were the recipients of the NAACP Image Awards President's Award this weekend, applauding them for all their work across the globe - from increasing vaccine awareness, ensuring those who need food and shelter during the pandemic were taken care of, and so much more.

While accepting their award, they expressed their gratitude for being able to share their common passions and give back as a united team. Meghan also revealed that a special guest was on hand to help celebrate their latest milestone – her mom, Doria Ragland.

“Today we can continue that legacy by reestablishing federal voting protections in our country and fulfilling the work of civil rights giants like the late John Lewis. We are so deeply humbled to be here in the company of so many illustrious awardees,” Meghan said.

And they didn't leave out the crisis between Russia & Ukraine either.  Harry took a quick moment to offer support saying,

“We would like to acknowledge the people of Ukraine who urgently need our continued support as a global community.”

They even established their own Award for their Archwell Foundation, in partnership with the NAACP.  Deadline reports:

In light of the award, the Duke and Duchess, through their nonprofit, have partnered with the NAACP to establish the NAACP-Archewell Digital Civil Rights Award, a newly created award to recognize leaders creating transformational change at the intersection of social justice and technology.

This year’s award was presented to professor Dr. Safiya Noble, co-founder of the UCLA Center for Critical Internet Inquiry.

“Safiya’s work speaks to a new chapter in the movement for civil rights. This community knows what it means to speak up for what is right and to march for what is just. It’s time to expand this march to the world online,” Harry said.

“This is the era of the digital justice movement. We are proud to partner with the NAACP and each of you to translate the vital efforts of those who came before us to the modern challenges that exist ahead of us,” Markle added.

Watch the glamourous twosome below:

Speaking of glam, one of our fave YBF chicks, Issa Rae, looked hella good in her Monsoori dress while accepting the Award for the cast of Insecure for winning Outstanding Comedy Series.

The Golden Globes might have been on snub mode but Issa knows what's really good.  Congrats!

Will Smith won for Outstanding Actor in a Motion Picture for his portrayal as "King Richard", and he had plentyto say while giving thanks:

He also won the SAG Award for LEad Actor last night, so the road to the Oscars is officially on!

Angela Bassett was glowing as she accepted the Award for Outstanding Actress in a Drama Series:

Looking gorgeous as usual.

And Nikole Hanna Jones has taught everybody about true journalism. You can't cancel academia, especially if you can't even define critical race theory.  Congratulations to her on receiving the Social Justice Impact Award!

BONUS: Mary J Blige served up a performance of "Good Morning Gorgeous" & "Love No Limit" during the show:

Loves it.
