Van Jefferson came home with not one, but two prizes on Super Bowl night. Deets on his and wife Samaria's brand new baby inside.
A perfect name with the perfect timing!
In case you missed it, Rams baller Van Jefferson welcomed his third child on the same night as the Super Bowl. And now, he and wife Samaria (pictured below at the conference championship game) are revealing the sweet name.
Just minutes after the 25-year-old wide receiver took the field to celebrate with his family and teammates with confetti and everything falling, a stadium offical came up to him to inform him that his wife had gone into labor.

And yes, she was spotted earlier in the evening being taken out of SoFi stadium via a stretcher, but Samaria reportedly told stadium workers not to tell her husband if she happened to go into labor during the game. The baby was a few days early and she knew it was possible she could go into labor at any time, but she wasn't missing Van's big game and didn't want him to miss it either.
Looks like Van jetted out the stadium to make it just in time, as he posted a pic of himself doing some skin-to-skin time with baby CHAMP that same night.
"We decided on Champ Jefferson," he tells PEOPLE. "It's very fitting. That's very fitting for the type of situation we just had."
"Champ has a meaning of warrior, and I'm all about having meaning [in] a name, so I think that's a perfect fitting for him."
Awwww!
"Even coming to the game leaving at half time, so she has that warrior spirit, so we just thought it was fitting for him to have that same thing," the new dad says.
Seems like at least one fan called it when it came to the baby's name:

Van and Samaria are high school sweethearts, and have 5-year-old daughter, Bella. Van is also a dad to a 4-year-old son that he welcomed with a different woman.
Based on Samaria's IG posts, she and Van split up around that time. But it seems they got back together quite recently and she got pregnant with their second child. As for the marriage, 23-year-old Samaria seemed to reveal they were married just days after doing their maternity reveal:
It doesn't appear they've had a big wedding (yet), but Samaria's older sis, Sydney, who did get married recently, hosted her sweet baby shower in Atlanta just a little while ago:
