When old school meets new school!
Emmy, Tony & Golden Globe-winner Debbie Allen and “Grown-ish” actress Yara Shahidi are set to reimagine “A Different World” for the “Zoom Where it Happens” table read season finale. Sweet!
Auntie Debbie will serve as director and she will also co-star. Yara will star in the episode and serve as the host. Stephanie Allain (Beyond The Lights) is producing. The cast also includes Lil Yachty, Tessa Thompson, Storm Reid, Kelly McCreary, and Oswin Benjamin.
In the episode, Tessa will play Kinu, Kelly will portray Whitley, Storm will play Freddie and Jaleesa, Debbie will depict Adele, Oswin will assume the role of Dwayne Wayne, and Lil Yachty will appear as Ron – according to Deadline. This should be good. We're interested to see how they put a 2020 spin on the table read.
This week’s episode will connect viewers to Supermajority, a membership-based organization that affirms and builds women’s power and serves as a one-stop shop for advocacy, community building, and electoral participation aimed at transforming our country and building an intergenerational, multiracial movement for women’s equity.

The live table read series, presented by Black women artists to raise awareness and activation around voting rights, goes down October 27th at 6:00 PM PST/9:00 PM EST.
