Paris Fashion Week quickly went from dream to nightmare for Chris Brown (and his alleged victim).
News just broke that the singer has been arrested and charged in Paris for suspected aggravated rape. He also has been slapped with drug charges.
The often troubled pop star was taken in late last night by authorities after a woman filed a police report on January 16th accusing Chris of raping her at his hotel, the Mandarin Oriental. His bodyguard and one other person from his camp were also arrested. They are being held by judicial police in the 17th arrondissement of northwest Paris, officials say.
After the French tabloid Closer initially broke the story, the Associated Press confirmed the news with French judicial authorities. The AP also reported what the woman says happened that night:
The woman who filed the Paris complaint said she met Brown and his friends overnight Jan. 15-16 at the club Le Crystal in the 8th arrondissement near the Champs-Elysees, and then they all went to the Mandarin Oriental Hotel near the Concorde Plaza in central Paris, according to the official.
The Mandarin Oriental would not comment on the investigation, and Le Crystal could not immediately be reached. There was no unusual activity outside either site.
The U.S. Embassy in Paris & Chris' publicists have reportedly declined to comment about the arrest. Chris himself, though, basically says "it wasn't me." The Blast reports:
According to our sources, Brown is telling people he was at the hotel on the night in question. But we’re told Brown maintains he had gone to a different room when the alleged incident went down.
Our sources say Brown believes that if something happened involving the woman, he was not involved.

The "Fine China" singer's most recent arrest went down July 2018 after a concert in West Palm Beach, Florida. That arrest was for a felony battery charge stemming from an April 2017 incident where he was accused of punching a man who photographed him without permission.
