Meek Mill is currently on the promo trail following the release of his new albumChampionships that has been getting rave reviews by critics, fans and even folks who were #TeamDrake during his spat with the Young Money rapper.

For his latest interview, the Philly rapper sat down with Tidal's Elliott Wilson for a conversation on his CRWN interview series. In the interview, the "Dreams & Nightmares" rapper talked about the insane year he has had since being released from prison, speaking out for criminal justice reform, his new album and how music was therapy for him throughout his legal ordeal.

Whille chopping it up, he shared a hilarious story about the time he and his ex-Nicki Minaj went on a double date with Beyonce and Jay Z. And it had everything to do with his then-rap nemesis Drake.

The "What's Free" rapper said he HYPE when he learned he and his then-girlfriend Nicki Minaj was going on a dinner date with The Carters. However, it didn't quite go as he likely planned in his head.

During the date, Hov was working the music and flipping through tracks on a playlist. Welp, he kept skipping and landed on Drake's Meek Mill diss record, "Back To Back."

“‘Back to Back’ come on by mistake while we at the table,” Meek told Elliott. “I’m like, ‘Oh shit, what the f*ck?'”

Hilar.

Had beef wit a nigga that could’ve ended in bloodshed either way. We had differences but when it all boiled down, we were once friends in & out of music. As young African American men we grew up in similar situations where a lifespan for us was 21 years of age & that is still the age in which most of us coming from where we come from think we’ll never make it to. I say all that to say, life is short & the day after @meekmill got out of jail, he called me & we talked for an hour.. not about the beef but about new beginnings & what the future holds for us as seasoned hip hop artists. That was a few months back & my nigga has done everything he said he would do in the conversation we had. Real nigga shit, I never wished jail on you & I was genuinely happy when you got released. I said it over the phone & I’ll say it again.. “Welcome Home” nigga.. #Championships I support it & everything else hip hop. #Growth #LoveIsLove
