Marvel's Netflix series "Luke Cage" has been cancelled after two seasons. Get those deets, plus see the disresptful Halloween billboard that features congressman Maxine Waters inside...

Turns out, Luke Cage isn't bulletproof afterall.

Netflix has pulled the plug on Marvel's "Luke Cage" series after two seasons, just one week after "Iron Fist" was canceled.  One of our fave series is gone!

“Unfortunately, Marvel’s Luke Cage will not return for a third season,” Marvel and Netflix said on Friday. “Everyone at Marvel Television and Netflix is grateful to the dedicated showrunner, writers, cast and crew who brought Harlem’s Hero to life for the past two seasons, and to all the fans who have supported the series.”

So why did the Harlem hero get the axe? Deadline explains:

The pink slipping of Luke Cage was ultimately a combo of the age old Hollywood “creative differences” and the inability for the parties involved to reach a deal on how to move forward, according to sources. With a season springing from the conclusion of the June 22-launched Season 2 plotted out months ago, detailed drafts for the first half of the 10-episode projected third season were delivered to Marvel and Netflix this week.

We hear that some execs had issues with the more developed scripts, even though the scripts strongly incorporated suggestions from both Netflix and Marvel brass.

Add to that, the writers’ room was put on hold for a week in September as the streamer and the Disney-owned company were figuring out the mechanisms of changing the deal for the planned Luke Cage third season from the original 13 episodes to 10 episodes. It eventually escalated to behind-the-scenes turmoil in the past two days and demands for changes in creative regime. With Marvel and Netflix seemingly intractable and on different sides of the disputes, a harsh cancelation became the only viable exit strategy, it appears.

Lead star Mike Colter has yet to react to the news (at the time of this post), however, showrunner Cheo Hodari Coker (Creed 2 writer) thanked everyone who worked on the series:

“A lot memories,” Cocker tweeted. “A lot of individual thank you calls to make. Just want to say thank you to Marvel, Netflix, the best Writer’s room, cast, crew, the Midnight Hour, all those who graced the stage at Harlem’s Paradise and the most incredible fan base in the world. Forward always…”

Several Marvel series have been axed from Netflix. Only "Daredevil," "Jessica Jones," and "The Punisher" remain.

Sucks.

In politics...

Ugh, the disrespect!

New thriller Halloween opened in theaters Friday and there are tons of billboards up to promote the film. However, one billboard was altered, replacing serial killer Michael Myers with congresswoman Maxine Waters.

The billboard, on Pico Boulevard in West Hollywood, depicts a picture of congresswoman Waters holding a knife in her hand with the phrase "#Uncivil Democratas" written on it. So classless.

Peep a video of the billboard, shared by "Empire" & "STAR" creator Lee Daniels:

SABO, the street artist who altered the billboard, told The Hollywood Reporter "that the text he added to the advertisement is a reference to Waters telling a crowd in June to make things uncomfortable for President Donald Trump and his Cabinet members."

During a rally over the summer, Auntie Waters said:

“If you see anybody from that Cabinet in a restaurant, in a department store, at a gasoline station, you get out and you create a crowd,” Waters said at the time. “You push back on them and you tell them they’re not welcome anymore, anywhere.”

They must have forgotten how gutta Maxine Waters can be. She's never scared and she let everyone know that during a speech at the Families Belong Together rally in Los Angeles:

"We have some members of Congress who are intimidated. I have no fear. I’m in this fight," she said.

"There are those who are talking about censuring me, talking about kicking me out of Congress, talking about shooting me, talking about hanging me. All I have to say is this: If you shoot me, you better shoot straight. There’s nothing like a wounded animal…They dare me to say impeach him. Today I say Impeach 45."

This street artist TRIED it.  November 6th is coming.  VOTE.
