Victor Cruz started his first day at ESPN following his announcement that he has retired from the NFL. Get those deets, plus find out who knocked Michael Jackson's Thriller from the No. 1 spot inside....

Former NY Giants wide receiver Victor Cruz will not hit the salsa in the end zone anymore.

The 31-year-old, who was one of the most impressive wide receivers in his prime, has officially retired. He made the announcement yesterday in a video for UNINTERRUPTED:

It's not a total surprise as Cruz has not played in an NFL game since 2016 after an injury. He suffered a torn patellar tendon in October 2014 that caused him to sit out the entire 2015 season. Then, NFL newbies like Odell Beckham Jr. and Sterling Shepard came along, and the Giants let him go in February 2017.

In 2011, he helped the Giants beat the New England Patriots in Super Bowl XLVI.

Now, Cruz - who is the father of daughter Kennedy Cruz - is focusing on the next stage in his life. He has joined ESPN as an NFL analyst! And today was his first day on the job:

Congrats Vic!

"As I officially close one chapter of my life and begin another, I could not be more thrilled to join another championship team at ESPN," Victor told ESPN. "I'm excited to get started and share my insight and analysis with the viewers and fans of the NFL."

So yeah, "Claws" actress Karrueche has herself a NFL analyst now - which means, more time they can spend together.

In music news...

Unfortunately, Michael Jackson's Thriller album is no longer the best-selling album of all time in the U.S. bummer. Whet?

The Eagles' greatest hits album titled, Their Greatest Hits 1971-1975, just zoomed past MJ on the charts, due to streaming numbers. The Recording Industry Association of America confirmed with the AP that the rock band's album is now 38x platinum, which means sales and streams of the album have reached 38 million copies.

MJ's Thriller is 33x platinum, which puts him in 2nd place.

RIAA changed their rules and began incorporating streaming numbers from several digital music services, like Spotify & YouTube, to determine certification for albums and songs. And when they did, a lot of albums got bumped to gold and platinum status.

Just so you know, the RIAA updated sales and streams for Thriller last year. The last time the RIAA tallied the Eagles' album was in 2006 up until now.  Twitter's been on a mission to get MJ back in the top spot.

Let us go stream Thriller right now....
