Travis Scott made sure the world knows HE has the #1 album in the county right now, despite Nicki Minaj saying otherwise. Meanwhile, 21 Savage joined Post Malone and rock band Aerosmith for a lively performance. Get it all inside...

Travis Scott has the No. 1 album in the country right now, despite Nicki Minaj trying her damnedest to make everyone believe otherwise.

The Astroworld rapper was tapped to perform during the 2018 MTV Video Music Awards inside Radio City Music Hall. We noticed, he was the first performer to pay tribute to music icon Aretha Franklin during the show. Madonna called herself giving Aretha a tribute, but she literally white woman'd the F out if it and talked about HERSELF the entire time, so yeah. Thanks, Travis.

The "generous" Queen didn't even acknowledge the musical great. No shade though.

After running through a medley of his hits, including "Stargazing," Stop Trying to Be God" and "Sicko Mode" (all tracks from his latest album), he acknowledge The Queen of Soul's passing.

"Rest in Peach Queen of Soul Aretha Franklin," he said.

And in the same breath, he checked Nicki Minaj over who really has the No. 1 album on the Billboard charts.

"Astroworld number 1 right now! VMAs make some noise!," he continued.

Peep the short clip below:

But, didn't Nicki say she talked to Travis and he KNOWS he doesn't have the No. 1 album? Girl...

DJ Khaled, who introduced Travis, also made sure to remind Nicki that Astroworld is the No. 1 album in country:

Post Malone, who won the VMA for Song of the Year - brought 21 Savage out to perform their VMA winning collaboration track "Rockstar."

The duo ran through the track before introducing iconic rock band Aerosmith. Post's performance went from 0 to 100 real quick as Aerosmith launched their performance of their classic hit "Dream On."

The band then went on to perform "Toys In The Attic" before performing a version of “Walk This Way” that features Run D.M.C.
